The Fosters- Its Callie's b-day! Weird, that was like a lot of former guests, though there were a couple of folks missing. Also, hilarious ending. spoiler cut )

Teen Wolf- What the hell?! spoiler cut )

So watching the commercials for Scream 4 during Archer, how many chyx are friggin' in this? I mean, you have the cute and niced racked Alison Brie and Aimee Teegarden, 90210/Degrassi's Shenae Grimes, the teacher-dating and JB looking Lucy Hale and Britt Robertson, Hayden Panty-Airs, Julia Roberts' niece, Suckeh Stackhouse, Ronnie Mars, Marley Shelton, and of course Courteney Cox (wait, was it always spelled "Courteney"?! Who spells it like that?!) and Neve Campbell.

I'm also amused Anthony Anderson is in this given he was in the Scary Movies. Also, Seth Cohen. Heh, what has he done after the OC? The last thing I remember seeing him in was Jennifer's Body.

So, Hit Girl tweeted a pic of herself and Juliette Lewis, all gussied up which is all well and fine until you remember she just only turned 14 a couple of months ago.

I thought this was well done:

A Disney vid set to Glee's "Thriller/Heads Will Roll" mashup. I think the creator did a pretty good job of synching up the lyrics with appropriate scenes.

TV commentary:

Life Unexpected- So, the Life Unexpected two hour finale. Cool, I'm glad they were actually able to have a satisfying ending. Often times when a show gets canceled, it ends on a cliffhanger because the creators meant it to be a season finale, rather than the finale. Even though the time jump (which Caprica also did) is kinda hokey, I'd rather have something like that all, "here's what happened" then just leaving things unresolved. spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

Life Unexpected- Finally, they reveal what I suspected all along, that Baze's dad and Emma had an affair a long time ago! And now Lux knows!

So with Tash possibly in serious trouble, Lux finally decides to come clean on a lot of things. She also reveals that not only did that Valerie chick's husband smack her around, he molested her. (Interesting that it was Baze's dad who ended up being the one to deck the guy) And now her thing with Eric kinda makes sense! Though after hearing that, you'd think Eric would start to feel incredibly creepy and break it off.

Warehouse 13- Heh, when this ep started, I was all, "Who the eff is this Josh guy!?" Did I miss an ep or something? Then I remembered, he's Claudia's brother. Weird though, it wasn't until searching around the forums to figure out who Josh was that I realized Myka had left at the end of last ep. So this takes place sometime before then if she's still working at the warehouse? Not too far before then though, given Claudia's presents of T-shirts with pics of the artifacts that almost killed them on them, as some of those were relatively recent. Actually, Claudia's had that spoon thing, and wasn't HG around for that though?
geebs: (Default)
You know, despite my preference for variety, I realize now it would be totally ridiculous to turn down a threesome with Leighton Meester and Minka Kelly.

TV Commentary:

Life Unexpected- Wait, I only missed one ep, but I just realized, so Math, Paige, and Ryan are all living at Baze's currently?! For a second there, I almost thought Daniels lived there as well, but I forgot he realized that would be unwise since Lux with living there half the time. (Ah, and I didn't realize if you get with jailbait, their parents actually have to press charges for you to be in trouble. I thought it was one of those things like murder where the state is required to charge you) But even without him living there, that's a lot of friggin people to be living in that space!

Its too actually too bad Paige wasn't in this ep, not just because Arielle Kebbel is hot, but because it would be funny if there were not three but four chyx at the party that Baze had banged. Also, I still find it weird that Anya from Buffy and Declan from Degrassi are playing mother and son.

Anyways, alas, its does suck that this show is getting interesting again right when its practically canceled. Like even though it has been totally obvious all season that Baze's dad and Emma had a thing in the past, what with her always acting weird and now Baze's dad forcing him to end the relationship and looking irrationally pissed oever the whole sitch, it better come out before this show ends!

Also, I actually like Declan's character, because he's at least age appropriate for Lux! Interesting thing next week though. spoiler cut )
geebs: (Default)
TV Commentary:

Human Target- Gun gripe for the ep. At the party, Chance sees the sniper rifle on Guerrero's back and is all "M14?" But its not an M14, as it was a bolt action rifle that I'm too lazy to figure out what it is. I had to watch the ep again to make sure he didn't say M40, which is a bolt action. (Though the stock was not that of the A1 or A3 models). But according to the captions, he did say M14.

Although at the end in Geneva he was actually using an M14. Though he was using it after saying in the previous scene, "I'm going to need something with more power!" But in the earlier convo at the party, his response to Chance's "M14?" implied he was using because of the .308 cartridge. But since the rifle he was using later is also chambered for .308, there's no diff. Unless he meant "firepower" as in he's using a semi-auto rather than a bolt action.

Speaking of, while the M14 is a fine weapon, I'm not sure it would be the best choice to use for precision cover fire in the situation they were in. Its an accurate weapon, though it needs a lot of work to be "sniper" accurate. I mean, the reason special operations units use it in places like Afghanistan is its a more robust and reliable weapon than the other semi-auto choices, albeit less accurate. Well, "less accurate" is a relative term, its still precise enough to snipe someone from hundreds of meters away just not as precise as something like a PSG-1 or an M110 SASS. But with innocents and friendlies about, and needing the ability to make quick follow up shots, he could've picked a more accurate semi-auto since he was in a city and not the middle of the desert, so reliability wasn't an issue. Its not like there are dust storms in Geneva.

Life Unexpected- Heh, so this is where Declan from Degrassi has gone! Owel, with Life Unexpected more or less canceled, I guess not all Degrassi kids who get on a CW show hit it big. Well, maybe only if you're an attractive female, like Darcy (who's now Annie on 90210) or Mia (who plays both Katherine and Elena on Vampire Diaries). Or does it have to be an attractive female who used to date Peter? Anyways, its weird to see Declan as Anya from Buffy's son. But I digress, after covering for Lux for all the trouble she got into this ep, he transfers to the school and quickly figures out Lux and the teacher are secretly seeing each other. I'm guessing if this show wasn't getting axed, he would possibly break them up? Hey, at least he's age appropriate for her.

So that's why Lux is having trouble in school, because the husband of that chick from earlier in the season who Tasha was initially being fostered and we find out wanted to adopt Lux had smacked her around? And are they not coming after Lux and Tasha for Tasha beaning the guy in the head with a shovel after he attacked Lux again?
geebs: (Default)
TV Commentary:

Glee- So I was egg-cited to hear the girls were doing "Livin' On A Prayer" next week, but disappointed when I found out it was a mashup with "Start Me Up". I mean, they've had some good mashups (Its My Life/Confessions Pt II), but some really terrible ones too (Hair/Crazy In Love). Here's hoping former. But the promos for next week! The Dalton Academy Warbler's doing Katy Perry's "Teenage Dream"? Awesome, ah can't wait!

Sons of Anarchy- Seriously, as I said last week, I understand Gemma is reluctant to drop the bombshell that his father had knocked up some other chick in Ireland, but better to do that now before he commits unintentional incest. I mean, last week, I could say, maybe she did somehow miss it, but this week, she was definitely staring in shock when they were getting all cozy (not in that way!) sitting on the bench. Its like surely then is a time to shout something like "You guys might want to separate, because you're brother and sister!" Oh, but that was a surprise there at the end! spoiler cut )

Life Unexpected- Argh, really show, having Lux and teacher flip flop every week, only to have someone unwittingly give them advice that not only should they go for it, but they're meant to be? I mean, its one thing when its her family/friends, but now Emma's randomly doing it? Why does the show insist on acting like the two of them together is something that's meant to be?! She's 16, and he's her teacher! Usually when shows do this storyline, they at least promote it as folly, not go into normal shipper-level stuff on why they belong together!

I mean, Lux going for it because of Emma's unwitting advice where she talks about how Baze and her are "all kinds of wrong" (yet more evidence she secretly had an affair with his dad!) but she's going for it because Baze is worth it, so Lux thinks the same holds true for her and teacher guy? WTF?!

In any case, I am amused that Lux and Tash seem to have switched places from last year, with Tasha the one wanting to be a joiner and have a normal high school life.
geebs: (Default)
Cool, the new guy brought donuts from dough in the box! But he didn't announce it to the rest of the building. So there's a lot left over, which is bad, since I can't help myself. I've already had a powdered jelly, an apple-jelly filled one, a creme-filled chocolate covered one, and an undetermined number of donut holes.

You know what term is overused nowadays? No, this isn't another "jump the shark" rant. Too many people throw around "hot mess" too readily. I think they often prescribe it to situations that are disastrous, but not to hot mess levels!

TV commentary:

Life Unexpected- They sure like parading Britt Robertson around in these skimpy oufits. I mean, in this "candid" behind the scenes vid with the cast on set, they have walking around in a bikini top and short shorts, sucking on a Popsicle and acting all white trash with Math. (Which is kinda weird, given he plays one of her teachers on the show, and not the one she's currently having a thing with)

Glee- So, previews for the songs in the upcoming Rocky Horror Picture Show ep of Glee are out. Pretty good, though its weird that, in "Sweet Transvestite", they change the lyrics so the Frankenfurter is from "Senasational" rather than "Transsexual", Transylvania. I mean, I could understand them changing it to be cleaner, but the song is still "Sweet Transvestite", why would you need to censor "transsexual" when you're throwing around "transvestite"?

Fringe- Spoiler cut )

So, was in a managerial class all day. During lunch break, I was sitting with a couple of the chyx in class at Junior's for lunch. And since I was formerly a student here, they were all, "you're a young one, when you get to be our age..." and I think only one of them was actually older than me. The other might be my age. Like I don't think they did the math. I mean, if I say I've been here for 11 years (which is far longer than the couple of years they've been here), and was a student from 94-99, I think you can figure out my age, and I'm not actually young.

But I suppose I do look young. Or do I actually, or is it that I dress the same I did back in college and most of my interests are similar to someone much younger than me so I seem younger? That one chick at AE did say I was quite older than she expected when she saw my license.

TV commentary:

Glee- Quick Glee shot, watching Mercedes and Santana's performance of "River Deep, Mountain High" again, does Santana's dance routine include the Peanuts dance (I was gonna say Snoopy dance but she was dancing like one of the kids, not Snoopy himself) and some Tae-Bo moves?!

SVU- Wow, Aunt May is rjv('Cold blooded!') I was trying to figure out why I had apparently been on the new ADA's (wait, so is the new ADA every ep gonna be a thing?) imdb page. I'm guessing it was because of that Deja Vu movie. Weird, so she's Jason Seaver's daughter in law (okay, his real life singer son, not Mike or Ben)? Also, wtf?! Alcide from True Blood/Owen from OTH was Flash Thompson in the Spiderman movies?! Holy crap, he really does look different without facial hair!

Anyways, how ridiculous was this episode? Were they really trying to vilify soda companies?! Sure, soda isn't exactly healthy for you, but an episode painting soda companies in the same light as big tobacco?!

Life Unexpected- Heh, I can't believe they did a cross-over with One Tree Hill! Wow, they actually made a Cate looks like "that girl from Roswell" joke?! I mean, do the people who would be watching this know what Roswell is anymore? But ha, Tasha wanting to nickname Lux "Slux". Well, she was dressed kinda slutty:

Seriously, though, what the hell is up with Cate and Baze, I know they're not gonna win parents of the year anytime soon, but once they saw Paige's "makeover" of their teenage daughter, shouldn't they say, "hell no, you're not wearing that to some concert!" Even if they were both there to sort of chaperon.

Jeez, these TV shows nowadays have too many web connections. I mean, Community has their twittersode before tonight's season premiere. I already follow too many people on twitter, including the actors of Community. Now they want me to follow their alter-egos as well? Though I guess I don't actually have to follow them to read their tweets. Since the link above lists all the relevant twitter accounts I guess I can just click on them to see what I need to, If I felt like it.

Then this week's 90210 preview for next week's ep indicates Ade was gonna sing one of songs she pilfered from the accident at Javier's funeral (I know Ivy's mom said the music company wanted her to, but she's got to worry that's bad juju, even if Javier was a total dick to her right before he died) and someone filmed it and uploaded it to youtube and it goes viral. But they have actually posted it to youtube as if it were a real vid.

TV Commentary:

Raising Hope- I wasn't actually too interested in this from the previews, but [livejournal.com profile] clevemire said it was good, so I checked it out. And I enjoyed it. Though sometimes I worry I have like emotional problems or something, having gotten verklempt over the end of the ep. (The same thing happened the other day over a friggin Christmas ep of the Ghost Whisper I had left it on while eating dinner. WTF?!) He had mentioned the mother was some famous actress that I'd know some time during dinner at Yeah! Burger with the usual suspects, but I didn't find out until later it was Bijou Phillips. Who I've always had a thing for. Actually, she looked pretty good in this. Though honestly, I'm skeptical they would do what they did there. Its like she said, they would never do that!

NCIS- rjv('Cold blooded!') spoiler cut )

Life Unexpected- What the hell? Because Baze needs the money, Lux tries the convince the teacher dude not to turn down the apartment just because of her. How do they expect nothing to go on between them if they have that temptation? Sure, she splits her time between Cate's and Baze's, but I still think that would be totally ccv('Inappropriate!'). I mean, a young male teacher living with a 16 year old student not related to him? I guess Math's in that same sitch, and I'm surprised that's not frowned upon either! She's already viewed as an outsider, surely the rumor mills would be in an uproar that she sometimes lived with not one but two teachers?! Even if nothing happened with her and teacher guy, if the fact that they kissed (before he knew she was underaged and she knew he was her new English teacher) got out, they would totally think something happened if they lived together. So he is wise to not take the room. I'm slightly disappointed though, because that means Math or Baze won't walk in to them doing something suspicious and Baze totally kicking the guy's ass. Because I think he easily could! more stuff, cut for spoilers )

Glee- heard previews for next week's songs- Apparently they're doing: Toxic (group number), Baby One More Time (Rachel), Stronger (Artie), I'm a Slave 4 U (Brittany), Me Against the Music (Brit and Santana), and Paramore's "The Only Exception" (Rachel). Interesting, Mike and Brit are the only ones we haven't heard sing solo yet, but now we know what HeMo's voice sounds like. She's not too bad. I don't think she's as good as the other girls, but she does fine with the songs she has here.

Hawaii Five-0- Surprising number of relatively known guest stars in this. And I don't recall the original Hawaii Five-0, but I didn't think it was this action packed. It seems a little more Miami Vice than Hawaii Five-0. And holy crap Boomer looks hot in skimpy bikinis!
geebs: (Default)
Man, I'm already behind on TV. Stuff still in the queue:

Lonestar
Hawaii 5-0
OTH
Life Unexpected
NCIS

Upcoming stuff I can't wait for: (and an argument for me secretly being a teenage girl)

Community- The season premiere is this Thursday, and this will actually take priority over Vampire Diaries because I definitely want to see the aftermath of that Jannie kiss. Now, I don't want them to be all lubby-dubby and together or anything, because that would be totally terrible for the show if they were. In fact, I suspect Jeff will prolly totally freak out since he's in his mid-30s and Annie's like 19 or something. (Although, personally, I don't see what the big deal is, but of course, I would. Well, think that. Or rather wouldn't see the big deal.) I just don't want them to totally dismiss the pairing immediately, i.e. throw them together, it totally not work out, and never address it again.

Gossip Girl- Speaking of my favorite ships, I don't wanna jinx it, but my sources tell me they are gonna do Dair this season. In a few eps even. I'm like giddy with egg-citement!

Glee- Next week's Britney ep! I didn't think I would find it a big deal until I saw the promo:

Even though I like Madonna and Gaga more, I find myself even more excited for this ep than those others now that I've seen the preview. Brittany in all those classic Britney Spears looks, and I didn't notice this until my second viewing, but it looks like she and Santana will be re-enacting the Madonna/Britney "Me Against the Music" video. And Rachel in the Britney Spears "Hit Me Baby One More Time" school girl outfit?!

TV Commentary:

Sons of Anarchy- Some interesting reveals here that I won't spoil. But I was most amused by the one guy's pr0n star gf wanting to help with the deal they had going with the Chinese. And what deal? SAMCRO wants that one black biker gang to spy on those Mexicans trying to come in and smuggle dope, but they want a bunch of AKs for their troubles. So, Clay negotiates with the Chinese, who don't have a shipment of AKs readily available, but will sell them some MP5s. SAMCRO doesn't have the money, so the Chinese will let the pieces go for a trade- they get their pr0n star contacts to do a "special show" for some of his friends, and they have to be hottie snowflakes, because he already has enough Asian hookers. Anyways, what amused me was Lyla was wanting to do it, not just to help out the club, but basically because she has only a few years left in the business before she stops looking like hottie jailbait and no longer get work. Only she phrased it "before I stop looking like everyone's kid sister" which is kinda a weird way to put it since that can have incestuous overtones. I guess she means "your buddy's kid sister" as opposed to your own sister. Because while ill-advised, at least its not illegal to bang your friend's sister. I was so surprised at the phrasing that I didn't go spcv('Nice!') which in turn shocked [livejournal.com profile] clevemire. Amusingly enough, I did say spcv('Nice!') when Gemma was letting the hottie Latina nurse they had tied up in the basement use the bedpan. But only jokingly. Is it weird that I can go from sounding like a lame tween at the beginning of this post to a weirdo pervert further down?

Warehouse 13- Hmm, interesting end to the season. cut for spoilers )

Other: So, Heavy posted their Top 20 Hottest Videos of all time. What, no Fiona Apple's "Criminal"? I don't care what people say, its sexy! Anyways, there were a few videos I hadn't heard of, that are indeed sexy. Like Eric Prydz's "Call On Me". Hey, not only does it have sexy chyx (who aren't jailbait looking, so there's proof I like all types!), the song is a sort of cover of Steve Winwood's "Valerie", so that's pretty awesome.

With the new TV season coming up, I guess I should chart out the shows I watch for posterity to make sure I'm not missing anything:

Sunday:
8:30: Cleveland Show
9:00: Family Guy
9:30: American Dad

(or at least I assume its still the Mcfarlane block from 8:30 to 10:00pm, I dunno if they're throwing in some new sitcom in lieu of one of the other shows for the start of the season.)

Monday:
8:00: House, Chuck, HIMYM, 90210
9:00: Gossip Girl, The Event (even though I still think the show title seems totally pretentious)
10:00: Hawaii Five-0, which I'll give a chance if only for having Boomer prance around in skimpy bikinis (Or I assume she will, otherwise this show is stupid)

Tuesday:
8:00: Glee, OTH, NCIS
9:00: Life Unexpected
10:00: Sons of Anarchy

I hear Caprica is moving to Tuesdays at some point.

Wednesday:
8:00: Undercovers
9:00: SVU, Modern Family
9:30: Cougar Town

Thursday:
8:00: Vampire Diaries, Community, Bones
8:30: 30 Rock? (Is this its new normal time?)
9:00: The Office, Fringe, Nikita
9:30: Outsourced? I dunno if its any good, but since I'm already watching the rest of Must See TV Thursday, might as well check it out.
10:00: Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia

Friday:
8:00: Smallville
9:00: Supernatural

Of course, I think there are more than a few shows missing from that list, like I only mention the cable shows I know for sure when they premiere. I have no idea when shows like Justified or Burn Notice come back up, nor when Walking Dead is starting up.
geebs: (Default)
Had dinner with the usual suspects at Eats. Don't think any of us had been there in a while. Though it does seem same old, same old.

TV Commentary:

You know, I watched the Hellcats pilot last week, but contrary to [livejournal.com profile] clevemire's belief that I'll continue to watch, I don't think I will. I mean, for a show about cheerleaders, they could use hotter girls as the leads (no offense to Keeley and Sharpay!). Plus none of the prospective couples seem all that interesting to me, so there's nothing I see "shipping". And Keeley is kinda a bitch to her mom, so you don't even get nice familial relationship stuff.

Life Unexpected- Wow, some significant changes in S2. Though one thing that annoys me about TV sometimes is when you have people sharing significant looks in front of people they shouldn't. i.e., they secretly like each other, or are secretly seeing each other, but they're with other people, or its a forbidden romance, like one's a student and the other's a teacher, or wot-not. But then they look at each other all soulfully in plain view of other people, particularly people that it would cause a big can of worms to open up if those other people notice. That being said, for some reason, even though such looks are quite overt, these other people are for some reason oblivious. Like Lux and teacher guy, they're staring at each other in full view of Math. And given his stalker-y tendencies towards her mother, you'd think he'd notice and report the guy and/or tell Baze. (Oh, and why don't more people think its creepy that Math is so familiar with Lux? I mean, yeah, she's the daughter of his bust friend, but she's also the daughter and almost mini-me version of the girl he had the biggest crush on in HS? Shouldn't him always hanging out with her daughter be kinda weird?)

TV Commentary:

Gossip Girl- This show! Just when I couldn't be any less interested in anything going on in this show, they throw in a few Dair breadcrumbs and sucker me back in. Seriously, this show always does this, they'll have those two interact and make it seem like there may be something about to go on there, but then they don't share any scenes for several episodes. It always end up being a big tease. I mean, given recent developments, this would be the perfect time to explore that pairing, but I doubt the writers ever will.

Anyways, this ep voices the main reason I've never been too keen on Chuck and Blair. To me, it always seemed like they were settling for each other, that they're so broken and messed up that no one else would have them. And to me, that's just sad, not romantic. spoiler cut )

Life Unexpected- That was an interesting season finale. Or at least I assume that was the season finale. (and hopefully not the series finale!) spoiler cut )

24- Okay, I haven't watched the whole ep yet, but I did sneak a peak at the TWoP forums to get a hint of what to expect. And after reading the comments, I'm not sure I want to finish up the episode. Dammit. One, I can't believe they did that, and two, its the number one thing that totally freaks me out in these kinda shows. No, not the unexpected "person gets run down mid-sentence" thing (that's actually the number 2 thing that freaks me out). But its along those same lines, and kinda ironic, given what MOS I'd want to be if I were ever in the military. I mean, its ultra-paranoid of me to expect such things as often as I do, and it always stresses me out when I think a scene is gonna play out like that. So knowing that it actually does happen, I'm like too chicken to see it.

Since they're relatively cheap, decided to upgrade my 8 gig flash drive to a 16 gig one over the weekend. So, I was pleasantly surprised that it arrived yesterday when I got home from work. Spent the next couple of hours doing laundry and switching rooms. I don't know if its good or bad that I was able to move everything around in a couple of hours. I mean, my room is by no means spartan, I have a fair amount of stuff. But I guess they're all in neat piles. Well, as neat a pile as you can have of various swords and airsoft pistols and machine guns. (And why the hell do I have handcuffs and a hardhat?)

So, over the weekend, saw Hot Tub Time Machine with the usual suspects, it was pretty hilarious. Although the ending is kinda twisted if you think about it. Diora Baird (last seen hamming it up on SVU) plays a random hottie in it, but does not show off her luscious melons. She's not even wearing a low cut shirt! cliffv('What's up with that!?') But who does show their nice sweater cows? Jessica Pare (who I remember once being described as Kim Smith, but with bigger breasts, but I first knew her from "Lost and Delirious" where she and Piper Perabo play lesbian lovers, not to be confused with "Dazed and Confused", where Matthew Mcconaughey like high school girls because as he gets older they stay the same)

Damn, there's too much TV on Monday at 8. HIMYM on CBS, Chuck on NBC, House on Fox, and Life Unexpected on CW. And they're all tier one/two shows for me. Speaking of, I had Flashforward as Tier 2?! Weird. That's been bumped down to Tier 3. But Community has definitely graduated to Tier 2, so it evens out. Actually, Life Unexpected didn't exist when this list was made, but it would be Tier 2. And Gossip Girl is danger of dropping down to Tier 2. Actually, I will drop it to two, because the current storylines aren't that interesting to me, and it doesn't seem like that will improve any time soon. And since Dollhouse is dunzo, its gone from the list. Here's the new list (this time with cable shows thrown in)

cut for your benefit )

But I digress, at least there's only 2 shows I watch at 9 (Gossip Girl and 24), and none at 10 (don't watch Castle or Damages, and I only catch up with L&O when I'm bored. It'll show up on TNT re-runs eventually)
