TV commentary:

The Fosters- Its Callie's b-day! Weird, that was like a lot of former guests, though there were a couple of folks missing. Also, hilarious ending. But yeah, Jesus can't get a few days off from school or whatever to visit the family for his foster sister's b-day? And Callie hasn't had the best relationship with Jude's dad over the years, but they kinda reconciled on Father's day, why wouldn't he be there? And I know its Callie's party and all, but its not like Connor is a stranger, I doubt she'd have a prob if Jude wanted his bf there.

So yeah, Jude throws a surprise party for Callie. They don't tell Mariana either, because she would've revealed it. Which is actually kinda bad that it is a true surprise for Callie, because if she knew there was a party going on, she could've prepped some to avoid certain awkward sitches. Like Rafael being invited! Although he's actually cool about the whole thing and keeps up the charade that Callie still works at the Center (so what the hell does she do with all her time now?). Rita figures out Callie isn't working there anymore since she brought one of the GU chicks there the other day, and asks Rafael what's up. He points to AJ, saying that's what happened.

But wait, does he know AJ was the one who stole the spray paint? In any case Rita asks why she let her moms take in someone who screwed her over, and Callie is all, he needed help, and Rita thinks its nice, but for once Callie should take care of herself.

Anyways, the big guest list leads to some interesting character interactions that you don't normally see. Like Sophia and Brandon. They end up hanging out because Brandon is stewing over AJ stealing his dad and Callie, and Sophia doesn't really know anyone there and is kinda stewing over her father's affair. Well, hang out is a strong word. Brandon just wants to vent about AJ and Sophia is basically a captive audience since she has nothing better to do. And because she's feeling all mistrustful over her father cheating on her mom, she encourages Brandon to find out what AJ is up to.

Brandon had caught AJ on a secret call, and was trying to get his phone to prove to his dad something's going on. So, Brandon finds it, but AJ is smart enough to delete his call history, and eventually figures out Brandon snagged his phone. So they come to blows, and Mike chastises Brandon. Mike gets some advice that yes, he should make AJ feel loved and trusted, particularly after what happened with that other cop during the ride along. But he shouldn't do that at the expense of Brandon. Which I can see, but Brandon is being kinda petulant, so its hard to feel sympathy for him. Particularly when Brandon is being all passive-aggressive, "Sorry for spending all that time taking care of you when you had relapsed!" Screw you, you little shit! Yes, it sucks for your dad to be fathering some other kid and not spending time on you (I guess this is the first time he's really had to share his dad), but AJ does need a father figure too. And what's with all the mistrust? I mean, I guess since the new foster kid isn't a hot chick he wants to nail this time, he doesn't like the guy?

Mike does give AJ a talking to, because he does realize AJ prolly did get a hold of his brother. But he tells him, if he wants to run and be with his brother, that's his choice, all he wants is AJ to be honest with him.

As for Sophia, things are pretty tense with her and Robert- Robert finally fessed up because Sophia was ragging on her mom the whole time and blaming her, so now that she knows the truth she's pretty pissed at her dad. Stef feels pretty guilty about it. I mean, Robert's the cheater, but it was kinda messed up of her to try and blackmail him on that. But even though Stef's blackmail made Robert realize he should come clean with his wife leading to all this, he prolly shouldn't have cheated in the first place, so he kinda brought this on himself. Heh, Stef consoles Sophia, and tells her to give her dad a break because of her guilt, but leaves out the fact that had she not blackmailed her dad, their family could've continued on in blissful ignorance.

Stef's not the only one with guilt. So, Stef and Lena's therapist want them to make lists of things they like and hate about each other for the next session, that they will read to each other. They're both mortified, of course, but the therapist says one of their issues is lack of communication. Lena is still keeping the Monty kiss secret, and sees similarities between her situation and the whole thing with Mariana and Wyatt. Wyatt's actually kinda into Mariana, and Mariana wants to be into him, if only so she could say she kinda lost her virginity to her bf (though not at the time!) instead of her sister's ex. She had told her moms she would tell Callie after her b-day, no need to bring her down. Also, she wants to give Callie all of her saved money so she can get a car to assuage her guilt. (Of course, she would totally get to borrow it)

Mariana loses their first choice of car because she tries to play hardball. They do find a second car, but then things get awkward when Mariana asks if its okay if she dates Wyatt now that they're broken up, in the hopes that she could lawyer her way out of sleeping with him all, "if you were okay with me dating him since you guys aren't together, shouldn't you be okay with me having slept with him a few weeks earlier". Callie also gets a new Beetle from her dad, but she refuses it all, she's thankful, but she doesn't want to make the other kids jealous or some such shit! Fool, who turns down a free new car?! Particularly if Robert was going to handle the insurance! But ha, when Callie asks if he can return it, Robert says he can't, but then is all, "Eh, Sophia is about to get her license soon, I'll just give it to her!" Way to give your younger daughter hand me downs!

But yeah, Mariana asks Callie if she can date Wyatt, and reluctantly gives her blessing, though its clear she's very uncomfortable with all that. Lena, again projecting from her own thing with Monty, tells Mariana its not right. So she tells Wyatt they can't be together. And he for some reason blames Callie all, she kinda jerked him around all the time, and now she's not letting him move on with someone else. So, Callie finds out that he and Mariana slept together, and she's incredibly pissed, so much so that she even says she didn't want this stupid party, which Jude overhears.

So Jude wants to leave to go to Connor's, and Callie is all, "Dude, why are you leaving my b-day?!" When her brother tells her he overheard her, she apologizes profusely. He's confused, because she used to love her birthdays. She'd even have birthday weeks, making everyone continue to celebrate. She tells him that's who she used to be, and life kinda changed her into a different person. She still thanks him for the party though.

In the end, he shows her the bouncy castle he got her, because in the past when their mom was still alive, she always insisted on one. So everyone has fun bouncing around, and then after almost everyone is gone, its just AJ and Callie left. And they totally kiss. Which Stef sees, and is very displeased. Ha, that was kinda hilarious! Its like, what's with her and stepbrothers. Like I remember Life Unexpected, where the teacher guy broke up with Lux, realizing their relationship was messed up and it wasn't right, particularly since she had gotten molested by her foster father. And Ida know, I'm wondering if maybe they'd ever go that route here, having a therapist see if Andrew from PLL raping her when she was younger kinda messed her up, since two of her last three potential love interests have been her foster brothers.

Teen Wolf- What the hell?! So Malia insists she didn't kill Tracy, and I don't know if it was just weird acting choices or direction, or if the characters really are supposed to be skeptical, but they just kinda look at her funny when she says it was the Dread Doctors. Like why the hell would she make that up?! She at least finally finds evidence for what she saw in Tracy's room, as she finds a novel with people who look just like the Dread Doctors on the cover. Not that she gets to show it to anyone this ep (and Scott and Kira see them for real by the end of the ep anyways) Also, Malia seems to indicate to Stiles she has no more desire to find her mom, the Desert Wolf.

But sorry, getting back to the beginning of the ep, it actually picks up from a past(?) conversation between Parrish and Lydia, about a dream he used to have where he'd go into the forest, to the stump of that magical tree. Lydia is all, "Of course, it makes sense now why you showed up, the tree is like a beacon to supernatural creatures!" He leaves out the part where in his dreams he's taking a body to the stump, laying it there and immolating himself to sacrifice the body.

Then we cut back to the "present", where Lydia is still wounded bad. Theo ends up performing some first aid to stabilize her before the paramedics get there. The rest of the gang finds Malia standing over Tracy's corpse. Deaton wants to hide the body, given she hasn't reverted back to human form, and that would raise too many questions. The sheriff is angry about having to cover this up, but realizes he has no choice.

They also find Donovan "escaped", with the cameras conveniently going out before the Dread Doctors show up to grab him. There's a female deputy who vows to protect the Sheriff until he's caught, and I'm wondering if that's Hayden's sister, since her bio mentions she has a cop sister. But I don't think they've made the relation evident on the show yet.

Heh, Deaton ends up cockblocking Scira when they totally try to do it (I guess their friend almost getting killed is some sort of aphrodisiac for them?) and tells them he thinks the reason Tracy could pass through the mountain ash is that she isn't a true supernatural, someone experimented on her (like the other guy in the pilot, who apparently had features of garudas and harpys) to give her features of supernatural creatures.

So because of all that craziness, Scott missed the reading assignments for AP bio, and his teacher is totally mean to him about it. Also, what the shit, she reminds the students drop day is coming up, giving 2 random students forms, basically indicating they're too stupid for her class and they should drop it. Her annoyance at Scott makes him consider dropping her course too.

At the hospital Lydia and Parrish get closer, as he'd been waiting by her side the whole time. There's also a kid with a terrible wound, something that seems like a sting from a giant scorpion, which should've killed him, but he survived. Scott does his pain removal thing, allowing them to talk to him. He says it was this boy who somehow stung him while they were doing the deed.

And where is this boy now? At some secret party Hayden was working at. And he starts to hook up with Mason. Luckily, Liam and Brett figure it out and try to save him, stalling long enough for Scira to get there. Kira goes all firefox and is about to kill the guy, when Scott stops her, since the guy was knocked out. But then the Dread Doctors show up and kill their creation, and Scott is angered.

Deaton takes the body for study, but in the end, we see Parrish abscond with the body, and like his dream in the beginning, lay it on the stump and then flare up to set it on fire. We also see Theo is in league with the Doctors. He tells Donovan that beating up the Sheriff with his newfound powers won't hurt as much as hurting someone the sheriff loves. So he sends Donovan after Stiles, with the ep ending with Donovan biting Stiles with some creepy mouth that's in his hand.
