Got my copy of AC3 in the mail today, so played a little of that today. Free-running seems the same so far, though one of the e-mails Desmond receives claims the animus was improved so that there's less of you accidentally jumping off in the wrong direction when scaling. I think combat has changed a little though. I've only gotten to do hand to hand so far, but I seem to remember countering working differently.

I'm a little worried about the change in lock-picking- No more of this holding a button down for a set amount of time, you actually have to do stuff to pick a lock! First you have to rotate the left stick until the game says you have it in the right place. Then you have to hold it there and then rotate the right stick until the game says you have it in the right place. THEN, while holding those two sticks in that exact position, you have to start tapping the r1 button a bunch. So it takes a fine touch, and isn't so hard when you're not under some sort of time constraint, but I'm sure in later missions there will be some stressors.

Oh heh, there are a couple of mini-games one can play, presumably for money once I have some. But I totally suck at them so far.

TV commentary:

SVU- Heh, Rollins' sister is were-panther chick from True Blood? She seems as much trouble here as she does on True Blood.

Criminal Minds- One of the creepier eps I can remember, what with CTB making the human and placenta mulch and feeding it to her daughter.

So, apparently some Glee fans are holding a convention for Faberry, which I only bring up because apparently its in Atlanta. I'm debating about checking it out, but I feel like I'd be the only guy there. Or at least the only straight guy there. Speaking of Glee, looks like a couple of the Glee songs for the upcoming Grease ep have leaked, "Born to Hand Jive" and "Greased Lightning". Not bad, I'm egg-cited for this.

So I saw the video for The Grand Nationals' We Can't Stay Here:

Which is apparently for the film Oranges, which is about Leighton Meester playing a girl who has an affair with her dad's best friend, played by Hugh Laurie. Which I find kinda weird given her story arc on House was being underage and having a crush on House and giving him a calendar counting down the days until she was legal so they could consummate things. But it turned out she had like a brain fungus or something which made her have such ccv('Inappropriate!') feelings towards him. I mean, in the film her character is 24, so its slightly less taboo. But the video does make me think of some "what if?" alternate universe to House where she wasn't sick in the head and she and House did start something.

I thought this was kinda amusing, Fifty Shades of Blue, with Selena Gomez and Nick Kroll.

Also, I tried my hand at drawing a new gun, the Keltec KSG shotgun. These are my attempts:

The details are nowhere near close to the real thing and the scale is way off, but I think I'm starting to get a feel for the general design. But if I get my Salieri from Last Action Hero on, I think I can do better.

Here's my rough sketch of the H-K G28 sniper rifle:

Eh, close enough. I drew it with the stock retracted and less kibble- my drawing lacks the vertical foregrip, harris-style bipod, and side mounted flashlight. Though I did keep the reflex sight on top of the scope.

TV commentary:

House- Heh, lots of old faces in the series finale. Except for Cuddy of course, since she said she was totally dunzo with this show. spoiler cut )

Eureka- Its funny that they're still on this Alison/Carter/Jo/Zane thing. When they had Jo and Carter married in the matrix, I thought it was just an amusing joke. I'm surprised the show is actually having this as a major plotline. spoiler cut )

Lost Girl- I think a few weeks ago, I was remarking about Bo's painted on pants, but geez, what was up with Kenzi's jeans this ep. Could they be any tighter? They leave little room for the imagination! Not that that's a problem. spoiler cut )

I do miss living in NYC sometimes. Especially when Gossip Girl films a couple of blocks away from where I used to live, and Glee films down the block from where I used to work.

TV Commentary:

Gossip Girl- Weird, so 1) Ivy and Lola are still communicating despite all that's happened, and 2) Ivy didn't say eff this city and leave after everything that went down? Anyways, I'm disappointed the way things are with Dair, but its TV so there's bound to be drama. Owel, if they do end up breaking up Dair for furniture, I can just pretend Dan and Blair walked off into the sunset at the end of 5x19 and lived happily ever after.

House- Weird, did they really get Robocop for like a small, nothing part in the beginning?!

So my voice has been recovering, albeit slowly. I'm able to talk longer, and even sing, but since it has been three weeks now, went to see the doctor again today. Yeah, my voice is coming back slower than normal, but since it does seems to be improving, he wanted to give it a few more weeks, and gave me the number for an ear, nose, and throat specialist to see if its still a problem. But less talking, and no singing. Boo! Well, glad this week's Glee is a Whitney tribute then! Argh! How am I not supposed to sing along?! (I know, I am so ghey)

TV Commentary:

Glee- Heh, I'm sure the pezberry fans were freaking out over their scenes this episode. Singing "So Emotional" together, and then Rachel wanting Santana to put up a picture of her in her locker?! (And she does!) You're so weird Rach! And kinda gay. (Really, looking at that scene out of context, you'd think they just got together!) Of course, the Faberry fans are focusing on the fact that Rachel will always ask "Can I hug you?" to the other girls, but never seems to ask permission when it comes to Quinn. Well, that and getting angry that Rachel is getting a touching scene with San and not Quinn.

So, Will wants to move the wedding up to May because he's scared if its in November, they won't come. Emma reassures him they would. Though it is kinda creepy that he's so attached to them. I know they touched you William, but seriously, get some age appropriate friends. Also, it kinda depresses me that apparently Emma is younger than me.

Meanwhile, Kurt feels he and Blaine have experiencing lesbian bed death. So when he meets a new gay friend, they start flirtily texting each other. Kurt says its just because Blaine hasn't complemented him in a while, and he just likes feeling wanted. He feels its totally innocent (its not!) and Blaine did the same thing with Sebastian. While it was a little messed up Blaine had been chatting with Sebastian behind Kurt's back, when he knew Kurt hated the guy and Sebastian was trying to break them up and get in Blaine's pants, at least Blaine wasn't flirting back with Sebastian.

Blaine reveals the reason he was so morose was because Kurt's talking about NY all the time and can't wait to get out, and he's a little hurt by that. And scared of losing Kurt. So, with all that aired out, they're back together and fine.

Finally, Joe starts having sexual feelings for Quinn. Which gives him a crisis of faith, because he's teen Jesus, and he believes in waiting for marriage, but Quinn is Quinn, so obviously he wants to totally bone her. So, he's acting aloof around her, which she reads as him being repulsed by her because she's a cripple. But then, during her physical therapy, she feels his boner against her thigh. Did the show really just do that? This gif seems appropriate:

And what the eff was up with the promo for next week? Are they really going to make Rachel choke on her NYADA audition? Why do you hate Rachel, writers? If she really doesn't get into NYADA that will be the biggest effin BS ever. Hey, let's have the protagonist on the show about the plucky underdog overcoming the odds, who's so talented and meant for greatness even though people were putting her down, NOT overcome the odds and achieve her dreams. What the fuck, show. Then again, maybe the fact their advertising she chokes means she will get in despite that.

House- So Park and Chase have sex dreams about each other, which they read as being very comfortable with each other and really good friends. And House is sad/mad/upset because:

1) He and the team figure out the solution to the CotW, but the kid's grandfather has started some religious ritual to exorcize the demon possessing his grandson's soul. So, since House is a huge fucking asshole, he doesn't want to treat the kid, because the mom might think its because of the grandfather's religious stuff, and he doesn't want someone to have faith in religion. Because Adams is not a monster, she ends up administering the cure when the kid starts crashing. Since the treatment was crazy simple (an injection of ibuprofen?) she credits her father in law's rituals.

2) Dominika figures out House has been hiding her naturalization letters (and right before she was about to eff him, too!), so she's pissed and moves out, all citizened up.

3) Oh, and Wilson has cancer.
geebs: (Default)
TV commentary:

House- So that guy flushed like $2000 down the tube, because that doll looked nothing like the chick it was supposed to be based on! That, and having a real doll is creepy enough, but one that's based on a living person is even creepier. I figured with his hallucinations, she died tragically or something and this was his way of having her back. But nope, he just decided to base it on her.

And its funny how Adams is all, "Oh you should ask Molly out!" after rejecting him. As if finding out about "Amy" didn't tank his chances with Molly already! She in turn is rejected by Chase, who's apparently an idiot. Okay, in all seriousness, it would not be wise at all for them to go out. And who knew Park was one of those corny douche-y hipsters? What was her date supposed to be? Like the end of Juno? Okay, I insult it, but I suppose singing songs with some girl actually would constitute a fun date.

As for Taub, I'm kinda curious what he did tell the woman he was trying to date when she noticed it was a different baby. Because honestly, I would assume her first thought is that he's a creepy weirdo who like hires fake babies or something to get in chyx pants. I mean, while its plausible for him to have knocked up to different chicks at the same time and having joint custody with both, it just doesn't seem like an actual thing. Like if he said that it almost sounds like BS.

So what was the end? His hooker was saying she was dumping him as a client because it seems like he and Dominika have a thing for each other, even though he claims its just so she can get a green card. And he's not ready to lose that, which is why he hid the letter saying she can be a full citizen? Even though it seems like she'd still be interested in him even without the citizenship thing hanging over their heads? And since this is the last season, and Cuddy's never coming back, are they going to try and have him end up with Dominika?

A smattering of different things:

-Still can't talk, but I think things are definitely improving at least. Of course, the other thing frustrating about this is I'm drinking so much water and other liquids, that I have to go to the restroom even more than I usually do.

-So my ipod nano was close to filling up, so I switched to the ipod classic, which has 10x the storage. Since it can hold up to 160 gigs, I put some of my TV shows (all of Glee, select eps of various other shows like Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, Community, and Archer) and those movies I have on itunes (Bandslam, Brick, Enchanted, Garden State, Godspell, Kick-Ass, Lemonade Mouth, Rent, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, the director's cut of Sucker Punch, A Walk To Remember and Zombieland) So I'm down to about 77 gig on the device, which should hopefully last a long time. Weird though, my nano couldn't charge from the dock on my car stereo, but the classic can. I'm not sure why it would work for one and not the other.

-Faberry won yet another poll, Zimbio's 2012 March Madness TV couples competition. The article about their win here is more well written than the E! one when they won that one, because they actually go into the compelling reasons why fans support Rachel and Quinn as an actual romantic couple.

-Speaking of TV couples, here's an article on 5 TV couples that just need to get together already. Obviously, I agree with Jannie and Barney/Robin. Laurie and Travis on Cougar Town would be a little weird. I mean, the age difference is smaller there than with Jeff and Annie, but Travis was under 18 when the show first started. He wasn't exactly a kid, but there was still a generational gap- he had his teen stuff going on, while the adults had there's. And Laurie is like friends with his mom, as opposed to being a fellow college student who just happens to be 10-15 years older. I'm not against it, it would be interesting, just a little jarring.

I'm not sure how I feel about Mary and Marshall on In Plain Sight. They've always had that will-they or won't they thing going on. Well, it seemed Marshall was the one more into it, but they definitely have strong feelings for one another. Its just with only a few episodes left, and where they are in their lives currently, I don't think them getting together can be done well in that time constraint. She just had a baby and is living with her ex-husband, he just proposed!

But I do echo their comment on OUAT. Snow and Charming? Great couple? MM and David? Ugh. He's such an ass in Storybrooke.

TV commentary:

House- Wow, House has done some crazy things before, but I feel that's over the line. spoiler cut )

Hart of Dixie- You know, even though there are a lot of similarities between Lemon and Lauren on MIOBI, I can tolerate the former much more. (Though just barely). They're both rich bitch Daddy's girls with mother abandonment issues. At least with Lemon, I understand her motivation, she's friggin' paranoid. Lauren has some of that, but also, she seems to cause chaos on a whim, or worse, hurts her friends because they're doing better than her at this or that! And Lemon at least shows periods of genuine vulnerability without seeming like a petulant brat, even when Lauren has her moments of sadness, there's always some element stopping you from completely feeling sorry for her.

TV commentary:

House- Man, I realize its the core dynamic of the show, but the relationships between House and everyone else are just so effed up. And its not just House effing with people, its just that he's established such a pattern that no one can ever trust him. The convo with Wilson was so true- there was no answer House could give that would be acceptable, because even if he acquiesced, Wilson would assume House had something up his sleeve.

Honestly, I'm not convinced he really is okay! I mean, my first thought when Chase figured out he was faking it, was that House was faking faking it so they would drop it and be all, "Oh, typical House". I suppose he really is alright, because it didn't seem like they gave any hints in the end that he was actually sick.

Its funny, because all these management course I've taken, one of the tenets House breaks all the time is not letting the cottages know where they stand. Like that moment in the end with Chase. Those rats were going in his apartment no matter what, whether House was angry or begrudgingly respected Chase for what he did!

Bones- I realize Bones is like ultra rational, but she's not stupid. I found the whole thing in the prison annoying with her being all, "Oh, the one rule prisoners respect is not hurting children, so I'm safe because I'm pregnant!" Because guys in prison for abusing children do a total 180 once they're inside. And there are no crazy people who would deviate those rules, like say thinking a pregnant lady might make a good hostage? Or because a bunch of angry prisoners in the middle of a riot are cognizant enough to back away from a crazy pregnant lady wading through them because they're scared of accidentally hurting a pregnant woman. WTF?!

MIOBI- You know, I kinda like Baby G. Though I guess that should be no surprise since Wendy's a young, blue eyed brunette who's all peppy and annoying. (Wait, is Lucas still going out with her in PLL?) Jordan's still kinda a bitch though. I'm definitely curious about her and Kaylie's back story though. Because Kaylie makes it sound like they grew apart and Jordan left her behind, while Jordan was telling KP to watch out for Kaylie because she's a backstabber. And since Kaylie is not Lauren, that seems a little unbelievable. The whole story of Jordan getting close with their old coach does sound kinda hincky.

Speaking of Lauren, she was actually kinda bearable this episode. I mean, she still went behind Payson's back, but at least this time it wasn't out of malice, but its because she thinks everything can be solved by boys. I will confess though, I totally didn't realize the guy Payson connected with wasn't the original guy Lauren fixed her up with, but hat guy! Payson needs to sing a new tune though. I mean, I suppose this thing with Max shot her confidence, but its not like there weren't other guys who've been interested in her in the past. She's all, "Oh yeah, I'm not attractive, guys wouldn't go for me!" Well that, and given they would be graded as a team, why would she think Lauren and the dude were playing a cruel prank to embarrass her and potentially cause Payson to get all emotional and screw up? Although I guess she coulda thought Lauren was bribing the guy to take pity on her.

And I hope this Kaylie-Kelly Parker friendship lasts. I actually like Kelly Parker. She seems to be the kinda character they were trying to go for and failing with Lauren. Anyways, I do feel sorry for her, she had the screwy mom-manager, and KP's trying to make amends, since she wants the bond the Rock girls have since she never had friends of her own.

They're sending at least six girls to the "Big O" (who really calls it that?!), right? Like the top 6 aren't going to end up being Kaylie, Lauren, Payson, KP, Jordan, and Baby G!

TV commentary:

House- So, the CotW's (Vince from FNL) gf was played by the deceptively stacked Margo Harshman, haven't seen her in stuff in a while. Like Annalynne Mccord, she looks way better with straight hair than with curls, so glad to see she's going with the former.

Speaking of the former, I was shocked to learn they actually revived Juliet on WoWP before the finale. But I guess if they brought Mason back, its only fair they do her. Also, Odette Annable is still friggin hott.

Ah, another interesting item at this year's Shot Show, the RAAC Akdal MKA1919. Its a semi-auto shotgun from Turkey based on the M16 platform. So its got the AR ergonomics going for it. Its prolly not as reliable as the Saiga, but the AK is not as easily accessorized as the AR.

TV commentary:

Pretty Little Liars- Argh, the old "break up with someone to protect them because the bad guy won't mess with them to get to you" routine. I've stated my displeasure at such plot lines. Maybe it makes me a jerk dragging people I care about down with me, but I just don't feel keeping them in the dark protects them. Because honestly, I don't know the bad guy will stop messing with them if they think I don't care. I mean, if I was a bad guy, why would I stop? It could be a ruse! And lacking any other options, what other pressure points do I have to push? I won't know its no longer a pressure point unless I push it and nothing happens. At best, it works. And its no skin off my back if it doesn't, I'm evil! So all you're doing is keeping them uninformed about a potentially dangerous situation! spoiler cut )

House- So Chase has a younger sister? She sounds hot! Though I may only think that because she has an Aussie accent (or whatever the hell Chase is). spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

Gossip Girl- So Dan's book is finally out. The preview last week did reveal that Dan had made Nate's character gay, but the truth is even more hilarious! He basically just merged Nate and Eric together (into "Derek", HA!). Of course, Dan was an idiot thinking Nate would accept his explanation of how its normal for people writing such works to combine folks, when everyone else in the gang had their own character! You know, in the fictional version of my life that I've been working on in my head, I've never actually considered combining people, I mean, if you were writing a book and you do base characters on your closest friends, wouldn't you think they'd be insulted if you just mashed some of them up into an amalgam.

But Chuck was still Charlie Trout (which, how could Dan's mentor not be sure that was Dan's book in the beginning of the season? I mean, the same initials is one thing, but I would think he was familiar with Dan's work and would notice the reuse of Charlie Trout). And ha, he really did name Serena and Blair, Sabrina and Claire. I would think some guy trying to be this great author would try to be a little more imaginative with the fake names! (I mean, in my fictionalized biography, there's a method to why everyone is named the way they are, and I don't feel its too obvious. Well, maybe a couple are)

I'm not sure how the Dair-shipper in me feel about this ep. I think those shippers with the rose colored glasses felt Blair looked touched after reading the book, but I'd like a little more evidence. (Though the fictional kiss was great though, although did the show really think we would be fooled into thinking that kiss took place for real?) I mean, given how Dan called Serena out and was more worried about how he effed things up for Blair shows he still has feelings for her. But Blair's pretty pissed at him. Some may read that as sublimated sexual frustration, but honestly, he hasn't been really figuring into things for her, it seems to constantly be Chuck vs Louis, with Dan being the poor sap holding her hand and not seeming to figure into her love life the way he wants to. On the one hand, maybe they are going for the whole, she thinks she has these two choices, but then she realizes the right guy was there under her nose. On the other, it could be just what it is, that despite his feelings, and their connection (and the hopes of many shippers) she won't ever consider him in that way. I mean, there have been several times on this show where it seem she may. But I swear this show gives just enough to keep the suckers hooked while never giving them a payoff.

I mean, even this ep, it wasn't Dan who fixed the mess between Blair and Louis, it was Chuck. And after Chuck had his epiphany from Dan's book on how lonely his life really is, the first thing he does is cry to Lily about Blair! It almost seems like they're setting up Chuck to be the hero when everything inevitably blows up with Louis, not Dan.

House- So House brought in hot prison doctor chick (played by the ever hot Odette Annable) as an unpaid consultant (since Foreman still isn't paying for a team for House just yet). And he ends up calling back 13 also. Alas, 13 had a girlfriend, so there was no hot lesbo anything between those two. It was an amusing twist the way House played Asian Girl and Super Hot Rich Girl off each other. I mean, it was amusing that it turned out that Adams was indeed messing with Park first to see how far she could push her with the gifts, and then "to win", and when House gave her something that would be sure to finally shut Park up, it turns out he was also tricking Adams into paying for the car repairs. But wait, given the end of the ep, is 13 gone now? Like is this just her exit ep, if House is freeing her to enjoy her life with her new gf?!

Hawaii Five-O- Heh, what's with all the Lost guests showing up lately. Alex playing a sexy volleyball player, and Reiko Aylseworth (while I'll always think of her as Michelle on 24, she was Ethan's mum on Lost) reprising her role as Chin Ho's ex-fiancee. At least they finally finished up with Kono's storyline where she was obviously undercover, where the team picks her up all, "How could you do this?!" and Tom Sizemore shows up to the surprise of no one and reveals she was working for him all along. Heh, given one of the selling points of her cover was being plastered on the news as being investigated for possibly being a dirty cop, I would think that would hurt her "desirability" to the bad guys, because her face is out there. I mean, I doubt people pay much attention to such stories that they would be able to pick her out on the street, but there's always the chance. Like when she was in the bank with Andie from DC and they were acting all sketch, its a good think the bad guy didn't realize, "Wait, aren't you that dirty cop who's been on the news?!"

TV commentary:

House- Interesting changes at PPH. spoiler cut )

So, the new underling is played by Charlyne Yi, who I did not realize was part-Flip. I thought it was interesting that they had her character's ethnicity match her in real life (Flip-Korean) I mean, that was kinda oddly specific, I doubt the majority of viewers would care beyond "Asian". Also, I was amused by next week's promo and House making a Charlie's Angels ref about her, 13, and prison doctor girl. Mostly because how sucky would it be to be the homely chick in a group with Olivia Wilde and Odette Annable?

Sons of Anarchy- Well, that was rather convenient! spoiler cut )

I thought this was an amusing enough article: 9 TV actors who were never supposed to leave their castmates in the dust:

1) Alyson Hannigan- I'm not sure she exactly left her castmates "in the dust". Yeah, she has a pretty good career on a hit sitcom and getting way better rating than SMG is on her new show. But I think SMG is still a household name.

2) Bradley Cooper- Okay, the list is definitely true about this.

3) Mila Kunis- She seems to be on this list because the ones on That 70's Show that were expected to be the biggest stars were Ashton Kutcher and Topher Grace? People thought that much of those two?

4) Amanda Seyfried- Sure, Kristen Bell's career seems to have waned, while Seyfried has been getting more buzz as of late, but I wouldn't really count that as surprisingly having blown her castmates away.

5) Leonardo DiCaprio- I mean, obviously he's a huge star nowadays. But its not like the other people on Growing Pains were all that big at the time (well, except for Kirk Cameron) or seemed like they were on the road to becoming superstars. However, the list implies the rise to superstardom was a surprise, but I think even as early as this he was still getting buzz.

6) Michelle Williams- Yeah, she's been in a bunch of critically acclaimed stuff as of late. But while she has the indie cred, I'm not sure she is that more well known than Pacey. Sure, Fringe's ratings aren't all that great, but I think Joshua Jackson is at least as well known in the geek circles as she is in the indie circles. And Katie Holmes, are you kidding me? She's married to Tom frickin' Cruise!

7) Marisa Tomei- Marisa Tomei was in A Different World?!!

8) Joseph Gordon Levitt- Now this is the example they were trying to go for with Leo. I mean, back then, Leo being a big frickin deal now, I could believe it. But the kid from 3rd Rock? That was a definite surprise. I mean, I like the stuff he's done, its just surprising as all. Of course, even then, I think John Lithgow is still a big deal. And he's been around for longer, so its not like JGL left Lithgow behind.

9) Seth Rogen- While "Freaks and Geeks" was an amazing show, it is a definite surprise that Seth Rogen, James Franco, and Jason Segel became such big deals. Even then, I don't think there were any expectations that any one of the actors there would do that much better than the others. Linda Cardellini I think did okay, and Haverchuck and Sweets still have decent careers. Jason Segel has done a few movies and has HIMYM, though I think Franco and Rogen are still a bigger deal than him. But between those two, I'm not sure who's considered bigger.

So, a few posts ago, I did a Top 50 Favorite Hot Chyx list. Now that I've had time to ruminate, using that list, I came up with a top 10 list that's actually ordered and everything. cut for brevity )

So, the mean age of this group is 26, which actually meshes with the whole your age divided by 2 plus 8 rule. So maybe I don't show a preference for chyx who are way too young for me. I would go so far to say I like girls of the appropriate age for me!

But breaking it down again, I noticed they're all snowflakes, mostly brunettes, with just two red heads and no blonds. Well, unless you count Odette Yustman as Latina, and technically Olivia Wilde and Emma Stone are natural blonds, they just dye their hair to a color that works way better for them. [livejournal.com profile] clevemire jokingly(?) commented I need to come up with 250 girls to get better data. But alas, I've only come up with 164 so far. The problem with shooting for a particular number though, is at least when I was just coming up with girls off the top of my head, I could trust I really found them attractive. But if I have to think of 86 more girls, I might just be naming them to fill the spots.

Hmm, so in addition to releasing the songs the Friday before, now the show has started releasing some of the performances from the next ep on youtube? Its odd that Fox does the stupid 8 day delay for non-Dish/non Hulu-plus subscribers on all their shows, but they're fine with releasing the actual musical numbers beforehand? I guess they're trying to generate buzz. In any case, here's Brit doing Beyonce's "Run the World":

For one thing, just like when Rachel did Rihanna's "Take a Bow" way back in season one, this is one of those songs where I prefer Glee's version to the original. Though that seems to be the case with a lot of the more Urban music they do. Also, as I've said countless times before, HeMo looks infinitely hotter with her hair down. And finally, how the hell does Kurt have a chance in hell of winning the election after this? The chyx feel all empowered, and the dudes are mesmerized by the hotness.

Speaking of hotness. decided to try my hand at a "Hottest list". I've always found it very difficult to narrow things down to a certain number. But decided to just sit down and look at a list of all the TV shows I watch regularly, the music I listen to, the movies I've seen, other "hottest lists" and first grab all the ladies I liked on those, then take that list and whittle it down to 50 by choosing the ones I felt more strongly towards.

I don't want to say its a "50 hottest chyx list", perhaps it would be more accurate to call it my top 50 favorite hottest chyx: (in no particular order, because its hard enough shortening the list to just 50. Having to order them to would be un-possible!) under the cut )

I was too lazy to actually link to pics. If you're reading this, you have access to the net. If you're curious what one of them looks like, google it yourself! In any case, I put their ages next to them just to help me with seeing trends.

And what trends did I find? Well, I have a definite preference for brunettes- of the 50, 33 are dark haired, with only 10 blonds and 7 redheads. And it should be no surprise I favor the snowflakes- 44/50 are white, with the last 6 being equally split between Latina and Asian. Of course, I didn't count Alexis Bledel as Hispanic, even though she actually is, despite her fair skin and blue eyes. Odette Yustman might actually count as Hispanic also. But chyx like Selena Gomez and Kristin Kreuk are practically snowflakes so the numbers are nebulous.

Age-wise, only 2 are under 20 (but still over 18), with 27 in their 20s, 20 in their 30s, and 1 in her 40s. (Hmm, I wonder if I plotted it out, would it look like a bell curve?) It should be no surprise that 43 of them are younger than me, but hey 7 older, that's not too bad. Though I guess 29 of them were playing high school age characters when they first came to my attention. (Although I shouldn't really count Evangeline Lily, because I first had the hots for her on Lost, and it was only later that I found out she was an extra in Freddy vs Jason. But technically, the first thing I saw her in, she was playing a HS-er)

And now for a completely different "hot 100" list. After Ellen's Hot 100 (i.e., the bi/lesbian community's perspective)

The top 10:
10) Lea Michele
9) Lily Loveless
8) Dianna Agron
7) Shay Mitchell
6) Amber Heard
5) Olivia Wilde
4) Sara Ramirez
3) Jessica Capshaw
2) Heather Morris
1) Naya Rivera

Wow, I didn't realize lesbians were huge fans of Glee, given the top 10 has 4 of the chyx from Glee. I am surprised Britanna took the number 1 and 2 slots! But still, I guess the top 7 are pretty obvious choices. I mean, the top 4 are the two halves of the biggest lesbian couples on network TV right now, Britanny/Santana from Glee, and Arizona/Callie from Grey's Anatomy. Then you have Olivia Wilde, who plays 13, the hottest bi character on network television currently. Then, Amber Heard obviously, having coming out recently and is one of the hotter lesbian actresses out there (though couldn't afterellen chosen a better picture for her?!)

And at 7, Shay Mitchell, Emily from Pretty Little Liars, who after the aforementioned would prolly be the next lesbian TV character I could name. And hey, she's Filipino! (She's like Lea Salonga's niece or cousin or something) Given that the casts of PLL and Glee hang out a lot (due to Artie and Hannah being close friends and bringing the casts together), its no surprise she floated the idea of a PLL/Glee crossover couple of Emily and Santana. Hey, I could get behind that!

EDIT: Oh, wait, duh. Since I still actually haven't watched Skins even though it seems like a show I totally would've watched, I don't know the actual names of the actors/actresses on the show other than Kaya Scodelario. So, I didn't recognize Lily Loveless' name and while I am well acquainted with the Naomily pairing, I didn't recognize her as Naomi from the pic (and I'm more familiar with her other half anyways). I mean, I had only glossed over the text blurb so I saw the word "Skins", but for some reason didn't read the rest of it. So I was thinking, how odd of them to pick a Skins chick who wasn't "Effie, one of the Fitch twins, or that blond chick who went out with the nicer twin", not realizing they did pick the last of those! I am an idiot.

TV commentary:

House- I'm surprised that wasn't the season finale, it felt a little season finale-ish. spoiler cut )

Gossip Girl- Dammit, with last week's ep seeming like they've dropped the whole Dair thing and they'd both moved on, the season ends with more than a few Dair tidbits to keep suckers like me still watching. spoiler cut )

HIMYM- spoiler cut )

Chuck- Interesting, that could've served as a series finale, I wonder if they added the last few minutes once they were sure they were returning. Though I suppose they could've end the series with that also. spoiler cut )

90210- spoiler cut )

Game of Thrones- Pretty violent episode. And disturbing at parts. Also, is this show trying to say everyone in power is a crazy whack job?!

So this ep introduces Loras Tyrell, "The Knight of Flowers". He seems pretty cool. I mean, the Hound and the Mountain are cool in their brutish bad-assedness, but I've also admired those warriors who are skilled but manage to be stylish as well. Such folk bring an elegance to the battlefield that is often lacking!
