Starcrossed- I'm surprised [livejournal.com profile] clevemire was willing to give this a chance given from the promos it seemed pretty obvious it was more a lame alien teen love story than a sci-fi show. He did only last 10 minutes, as did I since I have enough shows on Monday to watch that I have no time to start a new one.

Owel, it didn't grab me at all. But lemme comment on the chyx. It stars Aimee Teegarden, but alas she doesn't look as cute here as she did on FNL as Julie Taylor. And heh, Malese Jow plays her sick friend, and then she was on last night's Castle too. 90210 dude/Clone Wars Anakin's VA was Aimee Teegarden's love interest, but he also had a sister Sophia, whom I found strangely attractive with her weird hairstyle and pale skin and blue eyes. (You know me and blue eyed brunettes) She's played by Brina Palencia, who's apparently a voice actress (and weird, also the random hippie chick with the bf that Rick and Carol found in that neighborhood when he got her out of the prison to ask her about the whole killing Teen Wolf's mom thing. I could've sworn that girl was a curly haired blonde).

Anyways, when looking her up, I found her youtube channel, with videos such as this where she plays an obsessed anime fan:

Is it me, or is she kinda totally cute in the vid?

The Following- That seems ill advised! spoiler cut )

So, I didn't know Parenthood was done by the same guy who did Friday Night Lights. Which I guess is why they're doing a Parenthood/FNL crossover webseries:

Wait, when Egg is all, you must be Becky's friend, Lance (HA!!), do they mean like Becky Sproles? Did she even interact at all with Landry? I mean, she was kinda like Tyra 2.0, what with liking Tim and then living with Mindy and being her surrogate sister. But unlike original Tyra, I don't think she hung out with Landry. But I confess its been so long, I don't remember. But hey, Devin's there also! I don't actually recall who the other members of Crucifctorious were, so I have no idea if that's really them.

Also, why is Egg wearing an East Dillon Lions t-shirt? Doesn't Parenthood take place in California? Why would she be wearing some random Texas HS's t-shirt? Also, I don't watch Parenthood, but apparently Egg's character fell in love with a soldier boy played by the same guy who played Luke on FNL? Whom you may remember became a soldier at the end of the series. So its like Egg and Becky fell in love with the same man! But getting back to Becky, if its indeed Becky Sproles and not some Becky character on Parenthood that I'm aware of, how/why is she at Berkley?

So AfterEllen is having aUltimate Femslash Madness Tourney. Obviously, Rizzles and Myka/HG are juggernauts, and PLL and Lost Girl figure prominently. Hey, they even have Korrasami, but they're currently losing to Sansa/Margaery.

Some of the couplings are very confusing, as they're not all pairings from the same show. Like I get Quinn from Glee and Spencer from PLL, as they're very similar. After all, it does map Brittany->Hanna, Santana->Emily, Rachel->Aria, and Quinn->Spencer. I used to wonder if Spencer was more like Rachel or Quinn, as she shares traits with both. But then I realized, while I can make the argument for Spence being similar to both, there's no real parallels you can draw between Aria and Quinn..

But I digress. Cersei/Annie from Covert Affairs confused the hell out of me first, but then I realized they were doing a "Imagine Me and You" thing since Lena Heady and Piper Perabo were in lesbians with each other in that. But Veronica Mars/Hanna Marin and Faith/Shane Mccutcheon seem totally random to me. Like I looked it up and imdb, and Ashley Benson and Kristen Bell have never worked with each other, nor have Eliza Dushku and Katherine Moennig. And I've never watched the L-Word, but maybe Faith and Shane are similar personality wise or something? But I still don't get VM and Hanna. I mean, they're both cute blonds, but the characters are not even remotely similar, or have traits that would make me think, hey, Veronica Mars and Hanna Marin, they would make a great fictional lesbian couple.

Anyways, I still haven't seen last night's Dexter, but I did have an amusing plot point spoiled for me, and anyone who knows me can guess what I'm talking about: spoiler cut )

Ah, so I didn't realize the chick in that new CW series "The Tomorrow People" was Peyton List (The Lucy Lane one, not the Disney one). Nice to see her in something new. I guess CW is going full on teen drama next season. With this, and Reign, and in the winter, the 100 and Star-Crossed- which stars Aimee Teegarden and Malese Jow, also nice to see them in something new.

Still, despite having actresses I like, the concepts don't seem too interesting to me. I think the only new show that's piqued my interest is the Agents of Shield show or whatever its called. I realize now they prolly do have to refer to it as "Marvel's Agents of Shield", because if it was just Shield, it would prolly get confused with "The Shield". Actually, Intelligence with Sawyer and Ruby looks interesting enough, even if its kinda Chuck-ish.

So, this is slightly early, since last year's list was posted only 9 months ago, according to the time stamps on LJ and tumblr. But I think I made the comment that when I released that list, it wasn't an ideal time. May-July is a good time, because one has had several months to ruminate on the hotness of TV actresses as you have a whole TV season to go by, and all the hotties in the upcoming summer movies have most likely been getting a push for the past couple of months as well. Its too hard to come up with a top 100, so screw it, I'm limiting it to a top 25 for 2012: (links go to their chickapedia entries)

1) Odette Annable- honestly, I just feel she would be the result if Megan Fox and Jessica Alba had a love child (and who wouldn't want to see them try and do that)

2) Nina Dobrev- she's got a really cute face and a smoking hot body. Nuff said.

3) Karen Gillan- One of the hottest (if not the hottest) redheads on the planet. The hot Scottish accent is just gravy. No offense to Christina Hendricks (who is still in my top 25), but my tastes still tend towards the petite.

Yeah, I know, the same top 3 as last year, only slightly reordered. But at least the rest of the list, there are people who weren't on here last year, and some significant movement on some of the ladies (up and down).

4) Katrina Bowden- She was voted Esquire's sexiest woman alive for 2011, and with good reason!

5) Emma Stone- Granted, her making it into the top 5 may have been heavily Spiderman influenced, but like I said, I really liked her look in this. The only thing that would make it perfect would be if she had glasses. And maybe the red hair.

6) Ashley Greene- I think I made this comment last time as well, but has she done anything besides the Twilight movies? I mean, I've seen most of the first, and maybe the last half of the third, but I haven't actually seen her all that much in stuff. Other than photo shoots I guess.

7) Alison Brie- You know my penchant for blue eyed brunettes (although is it really a penchant if she's the only one in the top 10? Olivia Wilde doesn't count because she's actually a natural blond) All the "bouncy" gifs help. And the fact she sings. And plays a neurotic brunette on TV and is part of one of my current favorite TV ships.

8) Naya Rivera- Lesbians apparently dig her (if her being #1 on the AfterEllen Hot 100 list is any indication), and so do I.

9) Olivia Wilde- Seriously, she has just got the tightest little body on her.

10) Victoria Justice- She's really coming into her hotness after turning legal last year.

11) Kate Beckinsale- Heh, you know, I think she may be the oldest chick on this list.

12) Amy Acker- I'm still curious why she's not more famous. She's a good actress, and like super pretty. I mean, she gets consistent work on TV and was recently in the Cabin in the Woods, but she was prolly only in that because of Whedon.

13) Evangeline Lilly- Its disappointing she's not in more stuff being all hot.

14) Leighton Meester- Again, hot neurotic brunette on a TV show I like. Or used to like, I'm still angry over that Dair stuff. But I digress, she has the doe-iest doe eyes.

15) Dianna Agron- The short hair was good on her this year. Especially when it was dyed pink.

16) Anna Kendrick- I just find her everyday cute. The singing helps, and you know I'm seeing Pitch Perfect in the theater. And buying the soundtrack.

17) Sarah Shahi- It took Fairly Legal to remind me how hott she is.

18) Aimee Teegarden- You know, I haven't actually seen her in anything since FNL, unless you count commercials for movies. I just think she's a pretty girl.

19) Anna Silk- Hey, she was a pretty good casting choice to play a hot succubus.

20) Mila Kunis- She's cool as hell, and hot to boot. Just gorgeous and funny.

21) Jessica Biel- I've said it before, but the Total Recall remake already has one thing going for it, it has hotter chicks in the female roles, between Jessica and Kate Beckinsale.

22) Krysten Ritter- I've actually found her strangely attractive since Veronica Mars, but she looks good in Don't Trust the B.

23) Christina Hendricks- The epitome of the voluptuous bombshell, I think.

24) Vanessa Hudgens- She was notably absent from last year's list (I have my reasons), but she's back on after prancing around in all those tiny bikinis for Spring Breakers.

25) Emma Watson- Whatever, Hermione is hot. I also like her pixie-ish do in the upcoming "The Perks of Being a Wallflower". And how slutty she looks in the upcoming "Bling Ring". (I did make two photosets of it on tumblr)

Some of you may be wondering, why aren't X or Y on here, because it does seem like there are some notable omissions. And there are superficial reasons for the exclusion of some chicks, which whatever, this is a list of my top 25 favorite celeb hotties, its supposed to be superficial. Like I've actually been slowly getting turned off Megan Fox for a while now, and BAG knocking her up sealed it. And Anne Hathaway does look hot as Catwoman, but then she hacked off all her hair for Les Miserables.

Hmm, so looks like there'll be a couple of new characters on Glee next season. Since Sam isn't going to be back for season 3, right in the middle of the "Sam and Mercedes are secretly dating!" story line in the season finale, Mercedes has a new beau, played by Tinker from FNL (i.e. Travis' college roommate on Cougar Town). While Tinker's kinda cool, they kinda bucked stereotype when Mercedes was dating the white football jock. But now the big black girl is dating a big black guy? How typical.

Also joining the cast will be a new character named Sugar played by Vanessa Lengies. Apparently she was on Hawthorne and American Dreams, but I remember her as the bitchy chick in Stick It, that gymnastics movie starring Missy Peregrym. That's cool, I always thought she was kinda cute.

TV commentary

Degrassi- Weird, looks like they've turned Bianca into a more sympathetic character, and in turn make Drew and Bianca a more likable couple. Still, there's still the taint of what she did to Adam, though I suppose the show is trying to downplay it. I'm glad someone finally referenced it at least. Though his mom referred to Bianca as "the girl who refused to dance with your brother", which makes it sound harmless, as opposed to the more accurate "the girl who threatened to kill your brother because he's a transgender".

I also enjoyed the less serious, and totally amusing Fiona being totally awkward at the whole lesbian thing. It was weird though, that the Charlie chick was all, "You have a girlfriend?" the third time she saw Fiona since Holly J had been there the other two times they conversed, so why didn't she wonder previously? Also, I would've been amused if Fiona was all, "I wish!"

The C-plot of Sav and Keke Palmer was... weird. As people have said on the forums, they should have at least let her play some fake character who is more famous, rather than herself. Because most people would be all, "Who?" No offense, but she's no Avril Lavigne or Alanis Morisette (or some other Canadian music chick).

Saw the final Harry Potter movie this morning by myself, since the ex-roomie was entertaining out of town friends and C-note figures he can wait until it comes out on Redbox. Its ridiculous that the theater was packed even at the 1030am showing. But I guess its an extremely popular franchise.

It was pretty good, though I think of all the movies, its the one least able to stand on its own. They definitely had to split up the last book for a reason, because even splitting it into to two 2 hr+ movies, there are still a couple of things cut or they had to go over really briefly. I know some people are thinking they just split it into two to make more money, but I don't think they could have satisfyingly done the last book in just one movie (unless they wanted to make it ungodly long).

But yeah, this movie is basically the climax of the last movie, so you definitely can't see this one without having seen the previous one, though I doubt anyone would do that anyways. Its pretty telling when the first half covered several months, and this movie covers only a couple of days. It didn't hit me until Harry was all, "Oh, the other night..." and was referencing something that had happened in the previous movie.

Heh, I did hear a spoiler that I'm glad was actually a foiler and not true, because I would've been so pissed! spoiler cut )

Owel, its the end of an era. But dang, I had said the world better not end before Lost ended or the last Harry Potter movie came out. But now what is there for me to want the world to keep on going? Actually, I'd be annoyed if the world ended before the Song of Ice and Fire series ended. Both the books and the show!

Also, it was weird to see some people in the FNL forums talk about how sad they were about both FNL and Harry Potter ending this weekend. But since I saw the end of FNL a few months ago when it first came out on DirectTV, I've considered FNL over for a while!

Anyhoo, after the movie, drove down to [livejournal.com profile] psyched_out's new house to pick him and his wife up and take them to the airport. They just moved in, and its a really awesome place. Like if I were his kids' age, I would be totally jealous of them. Because not only will they have their own bedrooms growing up, those rooms are friggin huge!

So watching the commercials for Scream 4 during Archer, how many chyx are friggin' in this? I mean, you have the cute and niced racked Alison Brie and Aimee Teegarden, 90210/Degrassi's Shenae Grimes, the teacher-dating and JB looking Lucy Hale and Britt Robertson, Hayden Panty-Airs, Julia Roberts' niece, Suckeh Stackhouse, Ronnie Mars, Marley Shelton, and of course Courteney Cox (wait, was it always spelled "Courteney"?! Who spells it like that?!) and Neve Campbell.

I'm also amused Anthony Anderson is in this given he was in the Scary Movies. Also, Seth Cohen. Heh, what has he done after the OC? The last thing I remember seeing him in was Jennifer's Body.

So, Hit Girl tweeted a pic of herself and Juliette Lewis, all gussied up which is all well and fine until you remember she just only turned 14 a couple of months ago.

I thought this was well done:

A Disney vid set to Glee's "Thriller/Heads Will Roll" mashup. I think the creator did a pretty good job of synching up the lyrics with appropriate scenes.

So, a number of chyx I follow on Twitter were remarking how they had made EW's 29 Female TV Character's you date list. (29? Who makes a list of 29?!) I was hoping it was an actual article, defining why one would date this character, but it looks like they just had fans vote, and these are the results:

29) Erin from the Office (Ellie Kemper)
28) Katie from No Ordinary Family (Autumn Reeser)
27) Orwell from the Cape (Summer Glau)
26) Britta from Community (Gillian Jacobs)
25) Lisa from V (Laura Vandervoort)
24) Emma from Glee (Jayma Mays)
23) Kate from Fairly Legal (Sarah Shahi)
22) Ann from Parks and Recreation (Rashida Jones)
21) Sarah from Parenthood (Lauren Graham)
20) Kono from Hawaii Five-0 (Grace Park)
19) Lois Lane from Smallville (Erica Durance)
18) Temperance from Bones (Emily Deschanel)
17) Juliet from Psych (Maggie Lawson)
16) Claire from Modern Family (Julie Bowen)
15) Amy Pond from Doctor Who (Karen Gillian)
14) Joan from Mad Men (Christina Hendricks)
13) Ziva from NCIS (Cote De Pablo)
12) Tami from FNL (Connie Briton)
11) Olivia from Fringe (Anna Torv)- Hmm, but not Fauxlivia?
10) Pam from the Office (Jenna Fischer)
9) Gloria from Modern Family (Sofia Vergara)
8) Penny from the Big Bang Theory (Kaley Cuoco)
7) Liz Lemon from 30 Rock (Tina Fey)
6) Lily from How I Met Your Mother (Alyson Hannigan)
5) Robin from How I Met Your Mother (Cobie Smulders)
4) Arizona Robbins from Grey's Anatomy (Jessica Capshaw)- Ha, is her name really Arizona Robbins? That's hilarious!
3) Annie from Community (Alison Brie)
2) Kate from Castle (Stana Katic)
1) Sarah from Chuck (Yvonne Strahovski)

Heh, its a fair list, but I was thinking there were more than a few hot datable chyx omitted from this list, but then I realized the characters were mostly teens, which I assume disqualifies them from this category.

So I ask [livejournal.com profile] clevemire today, who was that chick in that band that the Monarch said some chick looked like? The answer was, of course, that Dr Girlfriend looked like Saffron from Republica. I was trying to remember because I remember it being a band I confused for another band. But yeah, I used to confuse Republica and Elastica all the time. Amusingly enough, the one song I thought was done by one or the other (the song in the The State You Should Wear Pants skit) was actually The Breeders.

Friday Night Lights- Alas, only three eps left. spoiler cut )

Community- You know, this whole time I was thinking Shirley was hiding the fact that she banged Chang out of embarrassment, but then I realized right before they brought it up that she had no memory of that. Friday Night Lights- Hey, its Street! Nice to see him back. Actually, its an interesting dynamic to have someone like him visit, because while obviously a lot of the old players are loyal to coach, they're still Panthers, while Coach is a Lions man now. So you get a nice split loyalty there- I mean, in the Panthers vs Lions game, it was the Panthers sideline Street was on, being one of their most celebrated players. And I'm sure like a lot of people, he wasn't too keen on what happened in that game.
