So, did my taxes, and used some of that refund to get a new tv in my room so I could move the ps3 up there to make room for the ps4 in the living room. Anyways, warriors orochi 3 ultimate was the only ps3 game I could transfer over to the ps4, got the ps4 version and ported the save over. However, I wanted something else to play between now and when Mass Effect Andromeda.

Settled on Sniper Elite 4, because sniping, and you could set up some cool ambushes. Only got to try the range so far, but I like the system. You have a button to hold your breath to steady your shots for a short while, and the scope has settings for zoom and range compensation. On the harder levels you have to account for drop and windage, so its neat that the system is so in-depth.

Of course, I also soon learned that there was a "critic's choice" sale going for Plus members. The selection was 50% off. I was already thinking of Mortal Kombat XL and Street Fighter V even before the sail, so it just made sense to pick it up now while it was on sale. Rise of the Tomb Raider 20 year celebration was also on the list of discounted games, so I picked that up too.

Warehouse 13- That really is two birds with one stone, but I guess they don't have that many eps left, so they have to resolve things right quick like that. spoiler cut )

Bones- What the frick? spoiler cut )

The Following- You know, I'm still up in the air on whether I still want to watch this show. But I had to put the TV on something while I was doing something on the computer tonight, so had that on in the background and I didn't know they were adding Jessica Stroup to the cast. Also, other than the nose ring, I'm kinda digging Emma's purple streak punk girl look.

Anyways, not much to say, other than I don't trust Connie Nielsen's character (I didn't catch the first few minutes, so if she actually was revealed as a bad guy, then I feel foolish), spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

Bones- Ha, they had Emily Deschanel's husband, Rickety Cricket, make a cameo as the priest (which is even more hilarious because of his character on IASIP). And they had all the interns working this one- like is that the first time they've all been together on a case? Like they were all around in the Booth coma issue, but that was all a dream. But yeah, a lot of guests for this ep, Parker, Booth's grandad and mom, Brennan's dad, Cyndi Lauper, but what the frick, they didn't invite either of their brothers?!

HIMYM- I thought it was a funny ep, but what's up with the lack of mother? Why have her on the cast and not have her show up? But hey, I'm not gonna complain too much about an ep guest starring Anna Camp.

ME blather- So I've finished up the Phoenix Adept and Batarian Sentinel, leaving the extracts for the Demolisher, Phoenix Vanguard, Talon Merc, and Asari Justicar. I'm actually half way through the vanguard, but since I've already done the biotic charge, lash, and smash challenges on this go through of biotic mastery, I started up on the justicar to finish up the reave challenge, putting me at 13 of 14 in biotic mastery. I'm 75% through Annihilation Field, so I can play the Fury to finish that up. And since that will reset all the counts for completing biotic mastery, I can complete it again (along with dark channel and throw) whilst re-finishing up fury extracts. Plus that will also allow me to earn points on powers again whilst going through the justicar and phoenix vanugard.

But yeah, playing the justicar again from the last time I tried her, having gotten better at the game, I've gotten better at playing her. My mistake last time was thinking I had to throw up biotic spheres and wait for enemies to go into them and detonate biotic explosions with reave. But nope, her version of reave is more powerful than the other characters. Its like, I just keep spamming it and even boss units die quickly. I mean, I still use biotic sphere, but the way its meant to, all defensive- between the damage reduction of the sphere and the damage reduction from reave, I usually come out ahead just standing in it and spamming it. And if I get in trouble, then I can flee, and when enemies go through to get at me, then I cast reave at them and set off a biotic explosion when they enter the sphere.

TV commentary:

HIMYM- Dangit Lily! spoiler cut )

Bones- Ah, I figured that's how that was going to go. spoiler cut )

Bones- Are you freaking serious? spoiler cut )

Defiance- So, is the whole ending montage to a cover song going to be a regular thing on this show? Again, the show seemed a little video gamey when they ventured into the mind. And then Datak insulting Christie in his language, not knowing she's been learning it, and can understand? Didn't he see GoT from a couple weeks ago? Granted, I'm extremely paranoid, and I only speak one language, but if I could speak multiple languages, I would never speak freely in some other language in front of someone, because you never know, they could totally speak it. And talk about a major faux pas! Heh, it was kinda hilarious to see Datak try and pass it off as "an old Castithan saying!"

Warehouse 13- Hmm, so is that going to be the plot line of this new season (or 2nd half of the season?) spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

Gossip Girl- Are you kidding me with this crap?! After the big scandal of the ep, Dan and Serena end up hanging out and catching up. WTF?! Like I said, I can deal with Blair choosing Chuck. But getting Dan back with Serena makes no friggin' sense. Dan hasn't said one thing that wasn't incredibly nasty to Serena since last season, why the hell would she give him the time of day. And honestly, it seemed like the possibility that somehow he and Blair would get back together was the only thing keeping him from associating with these people. Particularly given his exposes on the rest of them! There's no reason either of them would ever want to get back with the other!

HIMYM- At least HIMYM had Barney and Robin on the right track with Barney's supposedly fake heartfelt confession that he's madly in love with Robin to finally get the Nick breakup to take. But Robin knows what's up. And hey, even tho Nick gets dumped, he at least get a threesome with two hotties to cheer him up.

Oh, and I'm a patriotic guy, but this week's veteran's day specials for Bones and Hawaii Five-O were a little hokey. Interesting to learn that Dano's daughter was named after his dead partner though.

AC blather- Geez, during a hunting mission ran into an area crawling with bears. One thing I learned, don't fight them near water, because they can knock you into the water, preventing you from doing the button press thing to defend yourself and kill it. But otherwise, bears ain't a thing. I have yet to kill and skin a bobcat though. I've only run into one so far, it attacked me and the little thing ran. Prolly cause they're small (I hear you can actually catch them in snares)

Speaking of snares, I think its the only tool I haven't counter killed with yet. I did finally do a counter kill with a trip mine, though I have yet to throw the guy I slipped the bomb on into other guys, so he only ends up blowing himself off. Ah, and I was mistaken in the that video I posted before, those weren't special double counters Connor was doing with the pistol, it was part of a kill streak. So basically, after killing a dude and getting into kill streak mode, when you point towards the next target, you hit special attack instead of normal attack. Though I'm not sure how it differentiates between just popping a shot off, or going into one of the cool animations. I guess maybe its if the next target is far, he'll just shoot them down, but if they're close, it'll go into the special animation where he'll grab/kill the guy you target, but then shoot the next nearest target?

I am enjoying the naval missions, though I haven't actually switched between the various ammo types except in that one story missions. I mean, it sounds like grapeshot will decimate smaller craft, and chain and heat shot will take the bigger ships down quicker and expose weak spots for you swivel cannons, but you won't go wrong just shooting them with normal shot.

Bones- You know, I totally forgot about this jack-ass and his ridiculous methods of spreading computer viruses that can do anything he wants. It was annoying lawyer lady actually had to spell things out for Angela at the end. Like how hard is it to understand if they cover things up, that'll just get them kicked off the case and unable to help Brennan? I mean, the Sweets thing was ridiculous, its like, could he make himself look any more biased?

Owel, I understand why Bones ran in the end, but why the hell did she take her daughter with her?! Because you know what's great to have when you're on the run and trying to stay off the grid? A friggin baby! And its not like Christine had nothing, she would have her father! I suppose it would be harder for Booth to prove her innocence if he's busy taking care of a baby, but you know what he has that Bones does not, a whole slew of people who could help him take care of the baby!

TV commentary:

Bones- I must confess, I was actually moved by the storyline with Cam's daughter and the intern.

Glee- Okay, some people say Quinn/Rachel is imagined, but I swear this show is totally trolling the shippers. I mean, the ep starts with Finn trying to get Rachel to decide when they can try and get married again, and she's hardly paying attention, telling him she can't stop thinking about Quinn. Then in the choir room, Quinn is talking about her injuries and the first thing she says is the plumbing still works, and they immediately cut to Rachel? C'mon, that can't be a coincidence.

Heh, but I'm sure some people are pissed they basically fast forwarded through the whole accident, and Quinn is back, albeit in a wheelchair. And despite being t-boned by a speeding truck, she just looks like a pretty girl sitting in a wheelchair, as opposed to someone who was in a horrible accident. And she apparently has superhuman healing, as supposedly the injury isn't permanent and she's starting to regain feeling, despite it being at most a month or so.

But yeah, I'm sure people were wanting something more emotional post-accident, rather than jumping ahead to where Quinn is "fine". Though I guess they did give something to those Faberry shippers who were wanting to see a angst-y convo between Rachel and Quinn over the accident- during the senior ditch day discussion, Rachel breaks down, upset over what's happened to Quinn and everyone talking like everything's fine and how Rachel blames herself. But not only does Quinn tell Rachel its okay, she doesn't think Rachel is at fault at all, she pulls her in for a hug to reassure her, and then they hold hands for the rest of the scene? Its like something out of one of the many Faberry fanfics I read during the hiatus!

Of course, its not the only the Faberry shippers getting play, I'm sure the Quartie fans are loving all the Quinn/Artie bonding. Heh, Artie takes Quinn to one of those handicap skate parks, where we somehow get to meet all of Artie's cripple friends we've never seen before (which is also something out of one of those post-accident Quinn fan fics!)

But like I said, even though the accident should have been a bigger deal (it was the major cliffhanger before the break!), it shares the spotlight with Sue's baby (which may have health/development complications) and Blaine's strained relationship with his douche-y brother Cooper. Since a recent FFF involved Flo from Progressive, I found it kinda hilarious when Rory asked if Cooper met George Clooney, he claimed to have slept with the "Progressive Insurance Lady". I was annoyed though that his acting class had the club doing a scene from NCIS, but they have Rachel playing "Agent Sciuto". Abby's not an NCIS agent, she's a forensics specialist! Nothing annoys me more when a show references another show, but gets the details wrong.

Anyways, Matt Bomer can sing, but I wasn't feeling the story. I mean, they really should have spent this ep on the Quinn stuff, so they could've devoted a different ep to the Andersons. Because I just felt they didn't devote enough time to develop Blaine and Cooper's relationship to make you feel for it. Like, they just didn't seem that strained. They have Matt Bomer act all douche-y and then Blaine's all, "you're such a douche, you don't care about me!" but after Cooper sees Blaine does Xtina's "Fighter" (which was total fanservice to the girls/gays with Blaine hitting the punching bag in a wifebeater and then showering!?) Coop sees the light and they make up?! That was quick!

So yeah, unlike some people, I'm not annoyed they did an ep on Blaine and his brother, because yeah, he's not one of the original characters, but he's a main character now. And I don't actually have a problem with them covering his back story (even though we haven't covered the back stories of characters who've been around longer, like Tina or Mercedes or Britt). I think some people frustrated about how quickly they seemed over how they glossed over the Quinn stuff, lay the blame on Blaine, but I don't think that's really fair. I think they could've done both, just not in the same ep!

Oh, and I'm a little annoyed it was Puck who gave Finn the idea to ask Rachel to change her mind about NY and go to California, though the Puckelberry shipper in me can excuse it as him not wanting Rachel to no longer be in his life. But really, is Finn an idiot? "Hey Rachel, go to California to try and make it as an actress, even though you have no experience, and your dream has always been Broadway! You can go to auditions, and unlike NY I'll be able to support you, because I'll sure to make a lot of money via the pool cleaning business Puck is attempting to open over there!"

Which is one of the most frustrating things with this show, Finchel is the main couple, and they are so wrong for each other. Maybe the show doesn't intend it to be that way, but it comes off like that. Meanwhile, Quinn/Rachel's narrative seems like a friends becoming lovers deal. I mean, if one of them was a boy or were specifically described as being gay, people would have no doubt it was heading that direction.
