So this Friday (National Donut day, apparently?) Dunkin Donuts is taking their "glazed donut breakfast sandwich" nationwide. Its like a breakfast Luther- a bacon and egg breakfast sandwich with the "bread" being a sliced glazed donut. Of course, if they threw a sausage patty in there, it would be perfect. Hopefully the Tech Dunkin Donuts will have it (though I guess a Dunkin Donuts did just open up down the road from home as well). If they do, I know what I'm having for breakfast that day!

ME blather- Got commando mastery over the weekend, but not starting machine mastery just yet. Been working on Collector mastery to complete the weapons tab and doing some of the weapon challenges under the Aliens tab- so the Kishock and Krysae for now, but I'll also have to do the Javelin and Arc Pistol towards Machine Mastery.

When I first tried the Krysae, I was kinda meh on it, but trying it again months later, its actually pretty fun to use. Particularly with cryo rounds. Sure, the rounds don't penetrate cover, but since they're proximity fused, you just have to fire in their general direction. And with cryo rounds things will shatter and explode with one shot.

So, decided to try out that new Takorea place instead of Hankook for lunch today. Amusingly enough, since some of the Hankook staff is pulling double duty, they instantly recognized me. I was a little surprised the waitress knew my name, because I don't think she's been at Hankook the times I've actually been in the last month and a half. Anyways, I figure I might as well put in my $.02 about Takorea. Its certainly much nicer looking than Hankook. (So a certain someone needn't worry about a certain something happening at this place) Its the same menu, with a few additions, like a delicious pork belly taco and a pork cheese steak samich. There's also the ROK noodle bowl, whose ingredients change daily.

On the downside, its a little pricier here, with the same items costing $1-$2 more than Hankook. They're only open for lunch so far, but they're slated to get their liquor license this Thursday, so they'll be open for dinner by next weekend. Hopefully prices will be the same as Hankook's for lunch once they start serving dinner. Also, its a true sit down restaurant with wait staff, so you'll also have to factor in tip.

As for the location, its on Juniper between 5th and 6th. So you'll prolly have to deal with more traffic getting there at dinner time than you would at Hankook. (unless Midtown is a more convenient location for you, of course. Particularly if you work at Tech.) It does have a bigger lot, but it also shares that lot with a couple of other businesses, so the parking might not be that much better than Hankook.

So all in all, it was pretty good eating. If you like the food at Hankook, then you'll like food at this place.

Random vids:
FPS Russia firing a damn mini gun:

I've got to know where he gets all these wonderful toys! My favorite part is how he fired it long enough to get the barrels glowing red. Also, is it me, or does a mini-gun not actually sound like a gun when its being fired. Honestly, if I heard that in the distance, I would've thunk it was someone doing yardwork or something.

Drive to Shitty Music trailer:

I'm amused by this because 1) the soundtrack, for me, was one of the best parts of the film, so it indeed would've taken away from the experience with different music. 2) Their "shitty" music choices are all on my music player. Of course, I always find it hilarious when people knock Party Rock Anthem. I actually like the song, un-ironically, but me brudder [livejournal.com profile] sparkyboy, being the huge Christina Aguilera fan he is, despises the song for beating out Moves Like Jagger on the charts early on. (But hey, its ranked higher currently, so he should stop bitching)

Amusingly enough, at C's wedding in August, I was actually gonna ask the DJ to play "Party Rock Anthem" just to mess with him, but one of the guests beat me to it all, "Hey, this music sucks, why don't you play something good, like 'Party Rock Anthem'?" HA!

Saw Green Lantern today with the usual suspects. The 2D version, because this 3-D trend is stupid and I refuse to pay money that might help keep it going on. In any case, I thought it was fine. Certainly not as terrible as the critics seem to think. Its just not as good as the Marvel movies (well, the good Marvel movies) and the Batmans. I think where it suffers is them trying to cram too much in. Like, why in the world did they have Amanda Waller in this (played by Angela Bassett, though I'm surprised neither this movie nor Smallville used CCH Pounder, because in addition to voicing the Wall in the cartoon series, she actually looks tough enough to play her)? She's not even normally a Green Lantern character! I mean, I guess she is the DC universe's closest analog to Nick Fury. But at least him showing up in the Marvel movies makes sense because they're trying to connect different franchises. As far as I can tell, Green Lantern is going to be standalone- they're not trying to link it to Batman or the upcoming new Superman movie.

Also, too much time with Hal being all mopey and unsure of himself to Carol Ferris (they do make a shout-out by having her callsign be Sapphire), and enough time on OA. As much as I like Serena Van Der Woodsen's rack, I'd rather see more of the other Lanterns. Its like you show all these unique looking fellows, and don't do anything with them. But its like he shows up on OA for like 5 minutes, and then we're done with the other lanterns for the rest of the film.

I think they just tried to have too many nods to various things in the Green Lantern mythos too soon. Its like, they should've just kept it simple and make a decent movie that stands on its own merits, then start into the other stuff.

Also, a couple of other complaints I have, but not specifically about Green Lantern. The whole humans are special in science fiction, I know you can't really do anything about it, but it is still annoying when they act like humans are the only courageous beings in the entire universe in various sources of fiction. Its like, what, no other species has a concept of courageousness or tenacity or not giving up?!

That, and yeah, I understand Hal is a skilled, hot shot pilot, so they wanted to demonstrate that and I guess maybe in these comic/sci-fi universes the US doesn't have the best planes in the world, but do these fictional companies really need to be working on super smart drone planes that dominate the skies? Because guess what? We do that already! Its like they're all, "This super plane can beat anything in the air!" Who the hell are we going to supposed to use it against? No one in the world has planes as good as ours (I think our stuff is definitely superior to anything the Europeans, Ruskies, or Chinese have), and there would never be a war where we would have to find out, because the large scale war just isn't something that will ever happen again.

Anyhoo, afterward finally tried that Rose & Crown tavern place on Powers Ferry that's where La Madeline used to be. It was an interesting menu, it was kinda English food, but not really. But it was pretty tasty.

So, saw Limitless this morning with the ex-roomie, then went to Cinco's for lunch. However, we did not know they served brunch on Sundays. And I totally stuffed myself ill. Had stuffed potatoes, bacon home fries, bacon, sausage, french toast, lots of smoked salmon, eggs benedict, a chicken enchilada and a steak fajita. Hey, its a buffet, I wanna make sure I get my money's worth!

Onto the movie. It was okay, perfectly enjoyable if you ignored some of the more glaring plot holes. Note, I will be referring to Bradley Cooper as Will throughout the following commentary, as that's mainly what I think of him as, Will from Alias, just like Elena's dad will always be Sark to me, and Arvin Sloane will always be Arvin Sloane and Vaughn is Vaughn, Marshall Marshall and Dixon Dixon. Strangely enough, I don't think of Jennifer Garner or Victor Garber as their Alias characters though. But I digress. spoiler cut )

Awesome, apparently they are releasing "Trouty Mouth" and "Big Ass Heart" since there was such a huge response to them. (Alas, no "My Headband" or "Only Child"?!)

Had dinner with the usual suspects at Heirloom Market BBQ. Its kinda similar to Hankook Taqueria in that they take another food genre (in this case, BBQ) and add a Korean feel to it. I mean, the Koreans have their own kinda BBQ, but this is more American style BBQ, but with Korean themed sauces and sides. Also, Alligator sausage, which I had. It was pretty tasty. And apparently, one of the cooks there is former Korean pop idol Lee JiYeon. And not someone with the same name, the actual Lee JiYeon. Weird! The place is kinda small though.

Hilariously, the lady at the counter kept calling the ex-roomie "Joe", even after he tried correcting her. I mean, it would be one thing if she got his name wrong when it came time to give him his order, but even afterward she'd be all, "Hey Joe, how's your food?"

Oh, I was pleased to get both my tax refund and my carry permit in the mail today.

Tonight, had dinner with the usual suspects at Hankook Taqueria, a cool Korean Taqueria place around the corner from Nuevo Laredo on Collier. Apparently, [livejournal.com profile] poodleface had been raving about a bunch this place on facebook a bunch last fall? I guess I didn't notice. Anyways, It was pretty good, and there were a couple of cute snowflakes working the register.

Ate too much though. Looking at the menu beforehand, there was a bunch of stuff I wanted to try. But then when I got there, they had a delicious sounding special (which the ex-roomie guessed I would get, as apparently they post their specials on facebook the day of), black angus chipotle andouille sliders with fried egg, cheese, and spicy mayo, so I had to get that. They were so good! But I still wanted to try their tacos. The Beef taco was excellent. I also got the firedog, which sounded interesting, though honestly it was just a hot dog with kimchee on it.
geebs: (Default)
One thing I forgot to mention about Yeah! Burger last night was I had noticed as I was ordering that they had a url for their secret menu at the register. Although its less "secret items" and more them organizing their different toppings into specific specialty burgers. Though I guess the fact that they offer $1 sliders after 10pm on Fri and Sat is "secret". In any case, that's the one thing about places that offer you a number of different and unique toppings to put on a burger- there's so many things I want to try, but I don't know if they'd all go together! Like if I top it with chili, I would think that wouldn't work with certain sauces. Or if I went for a mexi-burger thing with like jalapenos and avocado and wot-not, that wouldn't go with blue cheese. Maybe they would go with an egg, it'd be like a mexcan omelet on top of your burger)
geebs: (Default)
So, since we were talking about it earlier in the day, hit "Yeah! Burger" for dinner with the usual suspects. It was definitely way better than Flip Burger down the road- I liked my Bison burger, and the ex-roomie and roomie seem to think the turkey burger was amazing. They do have a lot more options than Five Guys- different cheeses, chili, avocado, several different sauces. And you can get more than one sauce! I did a mix of "Duke's Mayo" and "Black Peppercorn Steak Sauce". I also learned their "Bacon Jam" sauce, while tasty, is a poor choice for a dipping sauce. I mean, it tasted great, but since it was basically just pieces of bacon coated with a thick, sweet sauce, it was hard to dip fries and onion rings in it.

TV Commentary:

Degrassi- Hey, Riley's finally out and he and Zane are an official couple now. And while I did find the whole fessing up to the college scout he was gay, and the scout being, "Well, that's perfectly fine!" silly (Ida know, mebbe I'm cynical, but I would think sexuality is still a hot button topic in sports and being a homosexual would hurt his chances), you know what I find sillier? That the whole wondering what the college scout will think of his sexuality ended up being a non issue and his real plot thread for these set of eps was finding out that sometimes really bad things happen to famous gays who are out in the open. I mean, if he was totally clueless about that, then what in the world was he worried about with his sexuality coming out before if not that? He was obviously afraid before, but if not of that, then what? other stuff )

Last night, decided to try the Little Azio's down the road for dinner. WTF is up with the parking in that complex?! I ended up having to park so far away! Of course, when I walked the friggin five minutes from my space to the place, there was a space open right out front. Anyhoo, I placed my order and sat down, and I'm pretty sure I saw a certain whiny little bitch sitting at the table across from me. Well, I googled him later, and I'm 60% sure (I know my twitter said 75% at the time, but whatever) it was him. Oh, and apparently all those years ago when I caught a glimpse of his wife, and thought she was kinda cute, I guess I was wrong! (Again, if it was indeed him)

As I went to get a sausage, egg, and cheese biscuit from Junior's, passed a train of incoming frosh going to whatever FASET thing is going on this morning. And one of them was this hottie nymphet that totally looked like Sarah Hyland in a skimpy little summer dress. Though unlike Sarah Hyland, who just looks jail-baity, I supposed this chick could be actual JB, being incoming and all. You know, I just realized I'm old enough to be these kids fathers! Well, if I knocked their mom up when I was a HS freshman.

Since [livejournal.com profile] clevemire posted a review of War, Inc. the other day, which I saw last Christmas, that had me thinking. Is it messed up that I don't see why Minnie Driver and Marisa Tomei's characters are making such a big deal about John Cusack's character(s) being hitmen? Like being all that's something "you never do", isn't that being a little melodramatic?

TV Commentary:

Psych- You know, I'd been lukewarm to this season, but last night's episode had me LOL-ing (That means I thought what you said was funny!). Although the ending was total BS! I mean, I guess that's the way you would have expected it to end, but still! spoiler cut )

Degrassi- Ah, the misleading promos strike again! So the promo voiceover is talking about people finding new love interests and show Claire being all, "He is just so (noise that could possibly be "unfffff!")" about Eli as if she really wants to do him. But in the actual ep, in context, she's actually saying "He is just so ugh!", as in she finds him all frustrating. spoiler cut )

Saturday, went to Fry's. They had Super Street Fighter 4 on their xbox 360 setup- played that and beat the game with Juri. She's so bad-ass. (And she still kinda reminds me of Azula on Avatar: The Last Airbender) Anyhoo, ended up having to use the arcade stick rather than the controller, even though I actually think the controller works better for me. Some people like the stick, but I can do the motions better with my thumb on the pad. However, despite that, I still got three or four wins with her super combo, so I guess I was able to do fireball motion pretty well.

Went to dinner that night with the usual suspects, hitting Fuego Mundo. Which is that same complex as 5 Seasons Brewery and Kobe on Roswell Rd. Wow, hadn't been there in such a long while, didn't know how much that place changed. Last time I was there, it was all construction, so it was a surprise to see the parking deck and all those new stores and restaurants. Anyways, it was pretty good.

TV Commentary:

Legend of the Seeker- Hopefully, the season finale next week will give a good resolution to the series, since the show has been canceled. Since I missed the ep last week (well, I have the show timered on the DVR, but for some reason the signal for WGN is poor, so the recordings always seem to be flaky), so saw the last two eps back to back. Wait, Cara is bi?! HOTT! spoiler cut )

Its actually pretty warm out there. But if there's an upside to the heat, its the hottie nymphets prancing around their front driveways in their tight tiny-Ts and short shorts soaking themselves with the garden hose.

And is it me, or is there no better nausea remedy than greasy tater tots?

Just got back from watching Kick-Ass with the usual suspects. It was really good. But seriously, they should do something about the marketing, because the commercials make it seem like this fun family movie, kids being superheroes, when its more a ultra-violent action comedy children should be nowhere near.

Anyways, having read the comic, I knew what to expect, though there are a few slight changes. One of them is kinda BS (or maybe I've just become jaded), but I can see why they did it, its definitely a "for the mainstream movie audience" kinda change. But despite these changes, the movie was still good, and if I didn't know the original material, I'd find the movie just fine. Not that the changes detracted from my enjoyment of the movie, just that its its own story, and is still a pretty good story.

spoiler cut )

All in all, it seems like Hit-Girl was the real star of this movie. (And I think she got to do all the stuff you wish Natalie Portman would have done in Leon/The Professional) But even I was kinda disturbed by the amount of gory violence in this movie, particularly at her hands. I mean, as much as I was into the violence, I was surprised people were laughing and applauding an 11 year old girl dismembering people and blowing people's brain's out and crushing them in junkyard crushers. Particularly since they were going with the brain spatter type of head shots as opposed to the neat little hole in the head. Also, I'm sure there are a bunch of perverts out there who are prolly lusting after her after his movie (prolly in in pics like this), but she is just way too young for that! Katie (played by the The HIMYM daughter, on the other hand, is more than legal enough to lust after.

After that, hit Cinco's for lunch. It wasn't too bad, though the service was way too slow!! There was this one mad cute brunette MILF snowflake on the patio wearing a low cut sundress who was walking her kid around, but since its a little moppet, she was bent over a lot, and I could totally see down the mom's dress. spcv('Nice!')

Yesterday, had lunch at Jim N' Nick's BBQ with the usual suspects. We met Jim or Nick and the hostess kinda looked like Cindy the stewardess from Lost. Okay, not really. Meeting Jim or Nick that is, the hostess still looked liked Cindy. A bit pricey, but it is a hop, skip, and a jump away from the house. Since I wanted to try everything out, get the Pittmaster's plate with spare ribs, hot sausage links, beef brisket and pulled BBQ pork, with fries and mac and cheese for my sides. It was all tasty, I liked the sausage in particular. The cheesy bread was nice too. After, headed back to play a couple of games of Arkham Horror with three of the expansions. It wasn't too crazy, and we did end up winning both times.

Hmm, the writer's block of the day for yesterday was: If you were 12 and could see yourself now, do you think you'd be happy or disappointed, and why? I dunno, I've never thought that far ahead, so I don't know what I'd be expecting out of adult me when I was a kid. And I'm one of those people who doesn't get their hopes up for fear of disappointment. I mean, I'll act all egg-cited for some movie or tv show or video game or comic or book or what have you coming out, but its not like I have high hopes for them, just that I know I'm easily amused. So, its not like I was expecting to have conquered the world (not literally, because I have no interest in such a thing, too much work to get there, too much too managed once you do).

I mean, I have an okay job and life, so what more could I ask for? A hot gf, more money, a cooler car, various firearms and electronic equipment? But who doesn't want most of that stuff? I think one would always want more. Like I could be a little disappointed I hadn't yet had a threesome with a short-haired blond green-eyed snowflake and a hot Asian girl with raven hair with a colored stripe in it and an Australian accent of similar heights, but that's not something I expect to actually accomplish. Getting behind the wheel of a sweet sports car/muscle car/rice rocket and getting to zoom down the highway or firing a machine gun or automatic shotgun are easier to attain goals I guess, since there are places you can prolly pay to do either but its not that disappointing that I've never done either. (Actually, I guess there are places you can prolly pay to do the previous as well, but I don't have that kinda money!) I guess 12 year old me would be at least relieved I'm not like a bum or dead or anything. So I suppose I would not be disappointed by future me back then.
geebs: (Default)
Saw Clash of the Titans this morning with the usual suspects. It wasn't bad, just mundane. I mean, the ex-roomie slept through half of it, and I don't think he actually missed anything of importance. But hey, Gemma Arterton (not to be confused with Gemma Atkinson) is kinda hot in it.

Got a trailer for both the Expendables (seriously, do they have every action star of the past two decades in this? Stallone, Jet Li, Jason Statham, plus b-listers liker Mickey Rourke and Dolph Lundgren and guys like Austin and Couture, plus cameos by both Bruce Willis and Arnold?!) and The Losers back to back. I was kinda hoping for the new A-Team trailer that just came out to show as well, just so there'd be a third movie trailer of yet another movie with the exact same plot- a rag tag bunch of ex-soldiers taking on an army of baddies.

Afterward, hit Fires of Brazil. Did hit the salad bar before hand, but only to get a tuna-stuffed tomato and cantaloupe wrapped in prosciutto. But had various meats, then finished it off with a cheesecake for dessert. Hit the Super Target across the street after to get some hangers, then killed time at the mall, mostly played around with the Ipad at the apple store. Before heading home, hit Rita's for a Swedish Fish Ice (like the candy) since it was a nice warm day out. Some dad was telling his son corny jokes, and the family in front of me, the mom was getting all mad because her daughter and the clerk were flirting.

So at work, a conversation about some company recalling a bunch of salami because it has salmonella turned into a discussion about curing techniques and some really fancy eye-talian meat or cheese. Which in turn reminded me of an episode of Archer (hilarious show, BTW) a few weeks ago, where the one guy says, "The citric acid cooks the fish". I was wondering if that was for real, and it is, he was referring to Ceviche. It does sounds intriguing, I think I'd like to try it one day.

When I was a kid, I used to hate seafood. But, some cutie forced me to try sushi, and I liked it. I eventually moved on to being able to eat cooked fish (again, because some cutie made me try it. Pretty much a lot of food I hated when I was a kid, I eventually tried and liked, because some cutie made me. Like eggs!), but I still prefer sushi to it. I dunno, cooked fish doesn't taste as good to me. This ceviche does sound appealing. (apparently, there's even Filipino ceviche?)

But heh, Archer does seem to drop random info like that. Like the fact that designer Hugo Boss made those cool looking Nazi uniforms. Now, I'm not saying Nazis are cool, but you have to admit they were pretty snappy dressers. Speaking of Nazis, I was reading this article on the 12 most controversial video games of all time, and I didn't realize that "Ethnic Cleansing" game was for real. I mean, that ep of SVU that first introduced Marcia Gay Harden's FBI character (oops, spoiler!), they reference a similar game, but I thought it sounded way too outlandish to be something that actually existed. But apparently it does. I guess they have referenced real video games before, like the GTA series (where the detectives make a break in the case because Stabler's son was at the station and saw some crime scene photos or something and he was all, "Oh, that's like (the SVU universe's analogue of GTA!)") and Second Life (where some girl is kidnapped because of the similarity of her avatar to some girl Locke's dad kidnapped years earlier. You know, whenever I see Kevin Tighe's name in credits, I always confuse him with Colonel Tigh.).

Speaking of video games, they revealed the final 3 new characters in the upcoming Super Street Fighter IV. As I said, the newest character they introduced, Juri, is a pretty awesome addition, (I mean, how can you not think she's cool from this anime-style trailer I've posted before.) but the other eight characters they added are returning from previous games. They already had Cammy and Fei Long from Super Street Fighter 2, but they had to complete the set by adding T Hawk and Dee Jay. And then there's Guy and Cody from Final Fight and the SF Alpha series, though I still think Cody's prison stripes look totally stupid. Couldn't they have put him in a smarter looking orange prison jumpsuit? And the last new one they had before this most recent announcement, was of course, Adon, who I always thought was cool.

But the newest three are from SF III. I was hoping for Alex, but between Zangief, Abel and El Fuerte (what's with all fighting games not only having a Bruce Lee looking guy, but a Rey Mysterio looking guy? I mean, doesn't Virtua Fighter and Dead or Alive both have Rey Mysterio analogues), and I suppose E Honda, they have enough grapplers. But, instead they have the ninja Ibuki (but isn't Guy a ninja?), the young karateka Makoto (again, isn't Sakura a short haired young girl who does karate?!) and Dudley (don't they already have a boxer with Balrog?).

But, anyways, there's a new character trailer out featuring the new Super SF IV characters from SF III.

So today's Fat Tuesday, which means tomorrow's Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent. Which means meatless friday's. Which was kinda a pain when I was a finicky eater when I was young. But now that I actually eat fish somewhat, I usually alternate between sushi and cheese pizza. Well, I guess I also have fish salads. But dang, now that I've moved, Boneheads is no longer close by, which was by far the easiest place to get a salad with salmon or what have you.

Actually, I guess I have more than sushi and pizza. There's grilled cheese samiches, though those aren't as good without bacon or as the buns of a bacon-cheeseburger. And pasta I guess, like fettucine alfredo with or without fried fish. Dang, and since the closest Friday's closed, I can't have their grilled salmon pasta either!

But getting back to thinly sliced bread grilled cheese samiches as buns, I like that, but I also like the Luther and its krispy kreme glazed donuts for buns. I wish there was a way to combine them. Actually, maybe do a big mac type 3 bun thing, with the outer buns being krispy kreme donuts, and the middle bun being a grilled cheese samich? But that would also make it a double bacon cheeseburger, and that may be just too big to put in your mouth- two krispy kreme glazed donuts, a thin-sliced bread grilled cheese samich, two all beef pattys, cheese, bacon, and what ever other fixings and condiments you put on it? Sure, you could eat it all separately, but what would be that point?!
geebs: (Default)
Yesterday, went over to the ex-roomie for food and the Superbowl. C-note was in charge of the big samich, and it seems like there was a little confusion, because [livejournal.com profile] clevemire calculated we went through a 6 footer last time, but then C-note was all, "okay, I'm getting a 3 footer". So the ex-roomie decide to grill up sausages and make the famous cheese dip along with a spicy bean dip, and [livejournal.com profile] clevemire made an apple crumble dessert thing, because its better to have extra food than not enough food. But then certain people bailed, so we ended up with way more food then needed.

We also ended up playing a couple games of Dominion before the game, and I ended up winning the first and tying with the ex-roomie on the second. Which was prolly the highest average scoring game we've had, as we had both the dukes and the harem in play. (51, 63, and 63 overall, I think!) cut for your benefit )

Obviously, I'm not a big sports guy, but it ended up being an exciting game to watch. But really, aren't peeps in NOLA basically going to be checked out for the next week and a half? I mean, there'll be the post-Saints win celebrating, but next weekend is Mardi Gras (and Valentine's Day as well, I guess), so why bother stopping the party when its just gonna start up again?

You know, the only commercial sticking out in my head from last night was the Megan Fox in the bathtub one, as well it should.

Oh, and the GMA sent this to ND, who promptly posted it to FB since he's a big Dolph fan, but, its a vid of Dolph Lundgren singing "A Little Less Conversation" on what I assume is some foreign (German?) variety show? But lest you think its just him singing, for some reason he goes into a drum solo(?!) and then does a karate demonstration breaking boards and blocks of ice in the middle of the song for some reason. Foreign TV is weird!
geebs: (grrr)
So [livejournal.com profile] clevemire has posted this on his blog the other day that I had to repost because it makes me so mad:

Some Fox guy outraged over the existence of the Luther. I'm incredibly offended by his rant! He's talking and carrying on like its this deviant and immoral thing to eat a Luther! Who the frak is he to judge what I should or shouldn't eat?! You know what, say what you will about the insane number of calories and the health concerns, but its delicious. Obviously, you shouldn't eat it on a daily or even weekly basis. But is soo good! Some people say, gross, but don't knock it until you try it. I mean, its a bacon cheeseburger, which is like one of the tastiest things evar. But the krispy kreme glazed donuts as buns add a nice sweet (but not too sweet) flavor to it. Sure, some people say, sweet is not something that goes with burgers, but I counter, its not that different than a sweet-flavored BBQ sauce on a burger.

Owel, back on dayshift, which means waking up at 6 in the morning, which I loathe. But surprisingly, I was able to get to sleep before midnight last night! So that's good.

Were the Spike TV video game awards last night or something? Pics of the hotties at the show seem to be circulating around. Like Odette Yustman of Cloverfield fame, and more recently, she of the hot ass in the poster for the upcoming Unborn movie. Though I was shocked to learn she's like 5'10"! I mean, she was on South Beach, and I shoulda realized she was tall when there wasn't that much of a height difference with her and Amazonian Adrianne Palicki. Of course, that was also one of the first things I saw Adrianne Palicki in, before I realized she's like seven feet tall. So between OY being 5'10" (though I guess that makes sense in retrospect, South Beach was about models in South Beach, and models are supposed to be tall), and playing gf to ginormous Sam in the Supernatural pilot thing (another early, pre-FNL thing I saw her in), no wonder it was hard to tell that AP was a giantess.

Anyhoo, yesterday, had pre-geek fun brunch at the J Christophers' near [livejournal.com profile] zarathrustra94 and [livejournal.com profile] turdburgler's. For some reason when talk of going hear earlier in the week was mentioned, I thought someone said it was a samich place. But it was a breakfast place. Not that that was a problem, I like breakfast food. It was good eating. And all the waitresses were fresh faced and cute young thangs. So I heartily approve.

Just got back from dinner with the usual suspects at the Flip Burger Boutique. Its this "trendy" burger place that just opened up on Howell Mill. I had the Steak Tartare burger, which I thought was pretty good (yeah, its raw, but it was nice and spicy), except for its size. Seriously, their burgers are only slightly bigger than a slider (that you would get at a place like Friday's, not the white castle/krystal sized burgers) but are in the $7 to $11 range. The sides were pretty good too- we had some vodka-battered onion rings and sweet potato tots, but again the portions are kinda small for its price. What's up with these "trendy" places charging you a fortune for small portions? bbv('Its total BS!')

Flicking through the channels late last night, passed by a skinemax (well, its was on HBO, but the term applies) flick which had pr0n cuties Michelle Maylene (who I just learned was a Flip! But I had guessed as much) and Courtney Simpson. Normal pr0n chyx doing soft-core. cliffV('What's up with that!?')

Haven't really tested the range of my headphones until today, when I walked to the bathroom sink and didn't realize I had left the SK on my bed. But there was no interruption in signal. I decided to look up the range online, and there are people claiming its 30m, which I'm skeptical about. Mebbe it depends on the device you're connected to, but from my bedroom, it looks like I can walk all the way down the hall to the front door before the signal starts cutting out. So that's closer to 30 feet than 30 meters.
