Saturday, went to Fry's. They had Super Street Fighter 4 on their xbox 360 setup- played that and beat the game with Juri. She's so bad-ass. (And she still kinda reminds me of Azula on Avatar: The Last Airbender) Anyhoo, ended up having to use the arcade stick rather than the controller, even though I actually think the controller works better for me. Some people like the stick, but I can do the motions better with my thumb on the pad. However, despite that, I still got three or four wins with her super combo, so I guess I was able to do fireball motion pretty well.

Went to dinner that night with the usual suspects, hitting Fuego Mundo. Which is that same complex as 5 Seasons Brewery and Kobe on Roswell Rd. Wow, hadn't been there in such a long while, didn't know how much that place changed. Last time I was there, it was all construction, so it was a surprise to see the parking deck and all those new stores and restaurants. Anyways, it was pretty good.

TV Commentary:

Legend of the Seeker- Hopefully, the season finale next week will give a good resolution to the series, since the show has been canceled. Since I missed the ep last week (well, I have the show timered on the DVR, but for some reason the signal for WGN is poor, so the recordings always seem to be flaky), so saw the last two eps back to back. Wait, Cara is bi?! HOTT! Interesting way to cause an alt-universe. So, to try and "cure" Cara and turn her back on the side of good, Zedd casts a powerful spell to undo the magic gripping her. Unfortunately, that undid her being a Mord'Sith which redid everything from the first season finale forward.

So Richard assembled the book, and put Dahkan Rahl under his control. Which seems like a monumentally stupid idea, to keep all these dangerous enemies like the Mord Sith and the 3rd Battalion and Dahkan around, relying on the magic of the book to make sure they don't break the enchantment and betray him. Even stupider, leaving the book on display like that. Given how important it was to his power, I'd have put it under heavy guard and well hidden!

Anyways, it was interesting that Cara bacame a housewife in this alternate universe, and she still ends up meeting both Leo and Dahlia, her two loves on this show. When Zedd and Kahlan capture her to reverse the spell he did, they could've at least told her what everything was about instead of just tying her up and freaking her the hell out. I mean, I understand time is of the essence, but its kinda effed up to just do that to her without saying why.

But the Mord Sith take her out and capture Zedd and Kahlan when the ep ends. Wonder how they're gonna fix things, or if they even will, given its the last ep.

Doctor Who- Freaky, so the cracks unwrite history, so anyone who gets absorbed by it, its as if they never existed. Of course, its a little ridiculous in that sitch, if those soldiers disappeared, it should have changed things rather drastically more than them having not been there. So, are they just saying the group came with less soldiers?! And its amusing that I'm remarking about this given my previous comment on LotS, where Cara not being a Mord'Sith changed things so significantly!

Anyways, so we learn Amy is at the center of the cracks, and they've been following her around. Wait, are they saying she doesn't remember those events because they were unwritten by the crack? That doesn't seem right! Because if none of that ever happened, that would undo a lot! But apparently the cracks stem from her wedding day, so the Doctor drags her off to be married? Only she's suddenly all hot for him and practically throws herself at him. Which I would be all for, but I guess its kinda messed up for the Doctor, since he met her first when she was a kid, and from his perspective, not that much time has past between then and when she growed up.

As for River Song, we learn a little more about her. Apparently Father Octavian had her out on a sort of work-release program from prison (the Storm Cage?), and she was in there for killing sommeone. The best man she ever knew? Wait, did she kill the Doctor? In any case, it sounds like the next time they'll see each other will be in her past but his future?
