geebsSo AfterEllen is having aUltimate Femslash Madness Tourney. Obviously, Rizzles and Myka/HG are juggernauts, and PLL and Lost Girl figure prominently. Hey, they even have Korrasami, but they're currently losing to Sansa/Margaery.
Some of the couplings are very confusing, as they're not all pairings from the same show. Like I get Quinn from Glee and Spencer from PLL, as they're very similar. After all, it does map Brittany->Hanna, Santana->Emily, Rachel->Aria, and Quinn->Spencer. I used to wonder if Spencer was more like Rachel or Quinn, as she shares traits with both. But then I realized, while I can make the argument for Spence being similar to both, there's no real parallels you can draw between Aria and Quinn..
But I digress. Cersei/Annie from Covert Affairs confused the hell out of me first, but then I realized they were doing a "Imagine Me and You" thing since Lena Heady and Piper Perabo were in lesbians with each other in that. But Veronica Mars/Hanna Marin and Faith/Shane Mccutcheon seem totally random to me. Like I looked it up and imdb, and Ashley Benson and Kristen Bell have never worked with each other, nor have Eliza Dushku and Katherine Moennig. And I've never watched the L-Word, but maybe Faith and Shane are similar personality wise or something? But I still don't get VM and Hanna. I mean, they're both cute blonds, but the characters are not even remotely similar, or have traits that would make me think, hey, Veronica Mars and Hanna Marin, they would make a great fictional lesbian couple.
Anyways, I still haven't seen last night's Dexter, but I did have an amusing plot point spoiled for me, and anyone who knows me can guess what I'm talking about:
Masuka has a sperm donor daughter played by Becky from FNL? I'm not normally a fan of really curly hair, like for me AnnaLynn Mccord looks way, way hotter with straight hair. But I've always thought it worked with Madison Burge. But ha, they're trying to pass her off as half-asian? Well, I guess her eyes are kinda asian-y. Also, in that scene, is she totally oblivious to the fact that Masuka is totally perving on her? Then again, if crime procedurals are to be believed, there's that whole genetic sexual attraction thing. But from that clip, it didn't seem like they were going that route, so I would think she'd be all, "My father's a sick pervert!"
TV commentary:
Continuum- Interesting developments, though is it me, or does it seem like a bunch of stuff is happening, yet nothing is happening. I guess its building up to something. So apparently Lucas has gone bonkers, seeing Kagame everywhere, which Julian takes advantage of to have cause internet chaos. I'm still wondering where they're going with this. Like if he had a CMR like Keira or Travis, then I would think maybe its all Chip Six, like when Kiera has psychiatrist Gay-ta in her head. I guess maybe he could still have some tech in his head messing him up. His shenanigans cause all sorts of secrets to be revealed, like the cops being financed by that one corporation. But before that, Dillon is all, "Everyone's internet is open, we'll use that the other way and arrest anyone who even had an e-mail with the word Liber8 in it!"
Apparently, Lucas was able to do all this with Alec's ARC project, so Kiera and Emily are all, its too dangerous, maybe you should destroy it. He tries to, be he can't kill the last backup himself, so Emily is all, "I'll do it for you!" and secretly steals it. In the end, she cries while staring at that last copy. Crying over betraying Alec? Over possibly stopping his tech from taking hold?
Also, Helo tries to get Sonya and Travis to kill each other, but it backfires and they're lover again. Which should be bad for Helo, even though he just became Mayor. Kellog confronts Eschere, basically throwing down the gauntlet, as it were. Who, by the way ends the ep staring at a bunch of video feeds. Didn't he see PoI, they have machines that can do that! Like I'm surprised Alec hasn't made an equivalent of "The Machine" yet. Its like he's made pieces that would be totally useful for the machine to gather data, why not make something that sorts through that data?
