TV commentary:

Glee- As I mentioned in my last post, they didn't mention how Finn died, and I'm fine with that. Some were complaining that they squandered an opportunity to teach the danger of addiction. Which, had they done that, I bet people would then complain about Glee always turning things into a PSA. Its not like randomly having Quinn get t-boned as an anti-texting PSA, or the school shooting ep that was really just Becky accidentally dropping a gun flew over so well.

To me, it was damned if they do, damned if they don't- and since people would complain either way, why go the drug route? It would be totally out of character for Finn, especially since that's how his dad died. What, he was gonna be all, "Oh, I thought my dad died a soldier most of my life, but I found out he was actually an addict and died from an overdose! I sure would like to start trying drugs to see what that was like!" Seriously, how pissed would people be if he just developed a drug problem and died off screen?!

And along the same line, it seems to ring false if they made up some other reason. Because if people were upset that they didn't do the drug thing, I think those same people would be even more mad if they white washed Cory's death (even though Cory and Finn are not the same person, one's a real person and the other is a character he plays) and had him die in some more favorable way. I think just not saying how he died and being all, "it doesn't matter how he died, only how he lived" was what would be the least controversial.

Tomorrow People- Finally caught this. It actually wasn't half bad. (Also, I'm amused that the male leads of the CW's lineup are related) And its nice to see Peyton List (the older one, not the one on Jessie. Which, I figured SAG rules would require one of them to change their stage name by now, like maybe include a middle name or something) in stuff, because she's cute. Also, I'm surprised homo superior isn't copyrighted by Marvel. spoiler cut )

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland- Also caught this. Not too bad- its a little more fantastical than OUAT since it doesn't straddle the real and fantasy world and contain a main character like Emma who refuses to believe. Which is good and bad- on the one hand it lets them go all out with the magic stuff, but on the other, the CGI can be pretty bad. It is interesting though, that they threw Jafar into the mix, because, why not?

Its also interesting because the Knave of Hearts was apparently in Storybrooke, so the White Rabbit's portals must cross time-space since they rescue her from Victorian-era England.

Filthy Sexy Teen$- I thought it was amusing, but it may be funnier if you're familiar with the shows they're mocking. Like when [livejournal.com profile] clevemire mentioned the show, he described it as a parody of Gossip Girl, but there's definite allusions to the OC and Pretty Little Liars in there. And hey, the evil girl is played by Amanda Leighton, aka two-faced Wendy from MIOBI, or the chick Naomi thought was into Max on 90210, or the chick Hanna was trying to hook Lucas up with on PLL. Nice to see her in stuff.

The other players include Tommy Mickens/LJ Burrows as the Ryan Atwood analog, Sam from True Blood and Penny from Happy Endings as the Cohen analogs, and Glenn from Walking Dead as the Chuck Bass type.

TV commentary:

Now, I don't watch Mad Men, but how awesome was this scene from this past Sunday's ep:

Who knew Rory Gilmore had such sweet tits, pardon my french. Its like the most awesome thing Alexis Bledel has done!

Make It or Break It- Series finale. Owel, at least it ended it a satisfying point. I mean, we don't get to see the girls go to the Olympics, but we can just assume the US Women's Gymnastic's team wins overall, with at the very least Payson getting gold. I wonder if they knew the writing was on the wall, because they crammed a lot of resolution to the current storylines in- Coach Ray getting arrested being a pervy molester, Wendy's doping of Kaylie being discovered, showing who actually made the team, they even had Kaylie and Austin and Summer and Sasha get back together. I am glad they brought Kelly Parker back, because I think my favorite part of this season was Kaylie and Kelly becoming friends. (Wait, do people ship them? I have no idea what their portmanteau is, so I don't know what to search on on tumblr)

In any case, it was ridiculous Wendy basically threw away her Olympic hopes trying to frame Kaylie. It seemed like she was already better than most the rest of them, and the rankings showed that the only one who did better than her was Jordan. Its not like her position on the team was threatened. Way back in the beginning, it made sense for Lauren to be threatened by Emily, because they had initially established Lauren as very pretty and showy but not as technically proficient as Kaylie or Payson, but she was still top 3 after them. But then Emily threatened that since she was a better gymnast. Of course, later they retconned Lauren to being Queen of the Beam. But yeah, it seems dumb of Wendy to risk it all to take down someone ranked below her, even if they're a threat.

So instead, the 5 are the original 3 girls + Jordan, and then some random. It was kinda funny, because at the end they're in a huddle all "Yay, London Olympics!" and all I could think was, "Who the hell is that random!" Like she's trying to get into it too, even though she's prolly thinking, "Hey, close knit group of girls, I'm one of you too!"

Hart of Dixie- So Wade and Zoe finally get together. And then George has to eff it all up by being all, Lemon deserves someone who could get all of his heart and leaving her at the altar. Which I'm thinking is such a BS line, because its one thing to say to your heart belongs to another, that's fine. But to try and sugar coat it all, you're in my heart, but so is this other person. So wait, that implies you also have a piece of their heart. So they're saying you shouldn't want them because you can't have all of their heart, but apparently that's fine for this other person who has part of their heart too? Its like, be truthful, that means they can push you out for this person, something they can't do vice-versa. So don't try to make yourself sound better by being all, I love you both. Well, obviously not equally!

But I digress. So literally as Zoe and Wade are post-coitus, George shows up at her doorstep all, "I broke up with Lemon, let's go out tomorrow!" I guess its less that I want Zoe and Wade together (I mean, they are cute together), and more, the George/Zoe thing seems so out of the blue. The show started off with an obvious spark happening between the two of them, but then they ignored it for most of the season. Then a few eps ago, suddenly George is so interested in Zoe? Like I can believe George not wanting to be with Lemon because he got a taste of the big city when he was in NY, and doesn't want to be stuck in Bluebell the rest of his life, since Lemon is content with her life. But wanting to be with Zoe? Ah'm skeptical!

Eureka- Heh, I thought it was amusing Alison was all, that wasn't your Henry in the matrix, because technically Henry isn't her Henry either, because of the whole alt-verse thing. Well, I suppose its not her original Henry, but she learned to adjust to this Henry. Glad they did vaguely reference it in the end.

TV commentary:

Cleveland Show- This episode annoyed me a little. So Blaine from Glee is playing a Jewish guy who pretends to be Christian to be in that youth choir thing to get with hot Christian girl, as does Cleveland Jr. the atheist. And then when she finds out their lies, instead of being offended, she's turned on, and wants both of them to do her, and they're like "no way!" It does not make cents!

Gossip Girl- Dammit, I don't want to even talk about how there's trouble in paradise. So I'll just talk about the big reveal. spoiler cut )

Make It or Break It- Okay, I wanted to kinda laugh at Steve when Payson was talking about her back injury from way back when and he's all, "this is different, there's no recovering from this surgery!" Granted, open-heart surgery is way too invasive for Lauren to recover in time. But Payson breaking her back and miraculously having Counselor Troy fix her up so she could compete in OLYMPIC level gymnastics is well, a miracle! Her career should have been over. At least they stayed real and when Emily got preggers, she was done. Because crazy surgeries are one thing, but no way are you going back into competitive gymnastics after having a baby!

Speaking of preggers... spoiler cut )

But,

You know, even though I have so much TV to watch tonight, I find myself unable to fast forward past the Nike "Run To You" commercial whenever it comes on, as I said, its totes cute, and so is the redhead in it.

TV commentary:

Gossip Girl- Heh, I love Dan and Blair together and all, but man are they hilariously pretentious at times. It was interesting to see that "Brangelina of the Five Boroughs" couple they met apparently have some fancy club of sorts in Astoria? Well, its still weird that GG has random NY celebs show up on this show. Mainly I'm surprised that NY society folks would be interested in going on a CW show to play a fictional version of themselves. But yeah, the idea of some fancy talked about club being in Astoria weirds me out because to me Astoria is Astoria. Then again, its not like I really ever went out when I was a kid, so I have no idea what Astoria/Long Island City night life is like. In any case, despite the missteps with their attempts to come out to the world, I'm glad to see things are still good between them. If the season can end with the two of them still together and happy, I'll take it.

But man, Serena was such a huge bitch this episode! And did she really try to justify her treatment of Lola by basically being all, "Oh, I was just doing the GG thing because my life currently sucks and it makes me feel good! Besides, being eviscerated on something as public as GG is good for you!" Like mother like daughter though, because Lily was a big bitch this ep too.

And it was finally confirmed Diana is Chuck's mom. Apparently Bart was having an affair with her, which ended when she got knocked up. She was a mess, and Elizabeth couldn't have a baby, so they figured Diana would give Bart and Elizabeth the child and solve both their problems. So they've retconned Elizabeth leaving because she couldn't handle raising some other lady's kid. But according to real GG, that's not the only secret Diana has been keeping!

Make It Or Break It- Ha, so when Lauren sees an outside doctor under a fake name, the doctor accidentally thinks she and Payson are a lesbian couple. Though isn't saying "Oh, no judgements here" kinda a judgement? Like why does she feel the need to clarify that, "oh, that's fine!" What does it matter? In any case, so Lo's problem is "an irregular heartbeat" that could be a sign of something really serious? And heh, Payson was talking about the added stress on Lauren during the family event thing, but neither Summer nor Steve were there! (Did the show not want to bring in Candace Cameron and/or whoever plays Lauren's dad back?)

Weird, I didn't actually realize Payson and Kaylie were fighting because Kaylie didn't tell her about Lauren being the one leaked the video. Its like geez, she really only just found out about it mere hours before! But ha, how awkward was it then that her parents were moving back to Minnesota (they got Payson's dad, but couldn't they get Roz?!), but its okay, because they got the okay for her to stay with Kaylie. Of course, I was thinking it was really an issue, she could ask to stay with Lauren, because she's also rich with a big house, and I'm sure Lauren could easily convince her dad to let Payson stay. But I didn't think she would actually do that! I guess things actually are bad between Kaylie and Payson. Though I guess part of Pay's reason to go with Lauren instead was because she wanted to look out for her since she knows of Lauren's true medical condition. And its weird that it seemed way back when they were setting up a storyline where Becca was on her way to getting to elite status, but apparently they dropped that?

And finally, wow KP's mom is still a huge bitch. Which sucks, because I like the nice, new Kelly Parker of recent times- she's so cute and sweet now that she's no longer her monster of a mother's thumb. Hopefully her mom doesn't eff things up for her.

A smattering of different things:

-Still can't talk, but I think things are definitely improving at least. Of course, the other thing frustrating about this is I'm drinking so much water and other liquids, that I have to go to the restroom even more than I usually do.

-So my ipod nano was close to filling up, so I switched to the ipod classic, which has 10x the storage. Since it can hold up to 160 gigs, I put some of my TV shows (all of Glee, select eps of various other shows like Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, Community, and Archer) and those movies I have on itunes (Bandslam, Brick, Enchanted, Garden State, Godspell, Kick-Ass, Lemonade Mouth, Rent, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, the director's cut of Sucker Punch, A Walk To Remember and Zombieland) So I'm down to about 77 gig on the device, which should hopefully last a long time. Weird though, my nano couldn't charge from the dock on my car stereo, but the classic can. I'm not sure why it would work for one and not the other.

-Faberry won yet another poll, Zimbio's 2012 March Madness TV couples competition. The article about their win here is more well written than the E! one when they won that one, because they actually go into the compelling reasons why fans support Rachel and Quinn as an actual romantic couple.

-Speaking of TV couples, here's an article on 5 TV couples that just need to get together already. Obviously, I agree with Jannie and Barney/Robin. Laurie and Travis on Cougar Town would be a little weird. I mean, the age difference is smaller there than with Jeff and Annie, but Travis was under 18 when the show first started. He wasn't exactly a kid, but there was still a generational gap- he had his teen stuff going on, while the adults had there's. And Laurie is like friends with his mom, as opposed to being a fellow college student who just happens to be 10-15 years older. I'm not against it, it would be interesting, just a little jarring.

I'm not sure how I feel about Mary and Marshall on In Plain Sight. They've always had that will-they or won't they thing going on. Well, it seemed Marshall was the one more into it, but they definitely have strong feelings for one another. Its just with only a few episodes left, and where they are in their lives currently, I don't think them getting together can be done well in that time constraint. She just had a baby and is living with her ex-husband, he just proposed!

But I do echo their comment on OUAT. Snow and Charming? Great couple? MM and David? Ugh. He's such an ass in Storybrooke.

TV commentary:

House- Wow, House has done some crazy things before, but I feel that's over the line. spoiler cut )

Hart of Dixie- You know, even though there are a lot of similarities between Lemon and Lauren on MIOBI, I can tolerate the former much more. (Though just barely). They're both rich bitch Daddy's girls with mother abandonment issues. At least with Lemon, I understand her motivation, she's friggin' paranoid. Lauren has some of that, but also, she seems to cause chaos on a whim, or worse, hurts her friends because they're doing better than her at this or that! And Lemon at least shows periods of genuine vulnerability without seeming like a petulant brat, even when Lauren has her moments of sadness, there's always some element stopping you from completely feeling sorry for her.

How I Met Your Mother- Bull, that only Barney has the fantasy about a girl in a stormtrooper costume, like no other guy would. Hey, it can be kinda hot- you think its like a stormtrooper, and then she takes off the helmet, and its like a hot chick! I mean, obviously, she would take it off when you do it, because doing it while she's still in full costume, that's kinda weird. Unless it was like a sexy storm trooper costume.

While its nice to see some growth from Barney with Quinn, it is kinda a slap in the face to Robin though, like he didn't think those things with her?!

TV commentary:

House- Man, I realize its the core dynamic of the show, but the relationships between House and everyone else are just so effed up. And its not just House effing with people, its just that he's established such a pattern that no one can ever trust him. The convo with Wilson was so true- there was no answer House could give that would be acceptable, because even if he acquiesced, Wilson would assume House had something up his sleeve.

Honestly, I'm not convinced he really is okay! I mean, my first thought when Chase figured out he was faking it, was that House was faking faking it so they would drop it and be all, "Oh, typical House". I suppose he really is alright, because it didn't seem like they gave any hints in the end that he was actually sick.

Its funny, because all these management course I've taken, one of the tenets House breaks all the time is not letting the cottages know where they stand. Like that moment in the end with Chase. Those rats were going in his apartment no matter what, whether House was angry or begrudgingly respected Chase for what he did!

Bones- I realize Bones is like ultra rational, but she's not stupid. I found the whole thing in the prison annoying with her being all, "Oh, the one rule prisoners respect is not hurting children, so I'm safe because I'm pregnant!" Because guys in prison for abusing children do a total 180 once they're inside. And there are no crazy people who would deviate those rules, like say thinking a pregnant lady might make a good hostage? Or because a bunch of angry prisoners in the middle of a riot are cognizant enough to back away from a crazy pregnant lady wading through them because they're scared of accidentally hurting a pregnant woman. WTF?!

MIOBI- You know, I kinda like Baby G. Though I guess that should be no surprise since Wendy's a young, blue eyed brunette who's all peppy and annoying. (Wait, is Lucas still going out with her in PLL?) Jordan's still kinda a bitch though. I'm definitely curious about her and Kaylie's back story though. Because Kaylie makes it sound like they grew apart and Jordan left her behind, while Jordan was telling KP to watch out for Kaylie because she's a backstabber. And since Kaylie is not Lauren, that seems a little unbelievable. The whole story of Jordan getting close with their old coach does sound kinda hincky.

Speaking of Lauren, she was actually kinda bearable this episode. I mean, she still went behind Payson's back, but at least this time it wasn't out of malice, but its because she thinks everything can be solved by boys. I will confess though, I totally didn't realize the guy Payson connected with wasn't the original guy Lauren fixed her up with, but hat guy! Payson needs to sing a new tune though. I mean, I suppose this thing with Max shot her confidence, but its not like there weren't other guys who've been interested in her in the past. She's all, "Oh yeah, I'm not attractive, guys wouldn't go for me!" Well that, and given they would be graded as a team, why would she think Lauren and the dude were playing a cruel prank to embarrass her and potentially cause Payson to get all emotional and screw up? Although I guess she coulda thought Lauren was bribing the guy to take pity on her.

And I hope this Kaylie-Kelly Parker friendship lasts. I actually like Kelly Parker. She seems to be the kinda character they were trying to go for and failing with Lauren. Anyways, I do feel sorry for her, she had the screwy mom-manager, and KP's trying to make amends, since she wants the bond the Rock girls have since she never had friends of her own.

They're sending at least six girls to the "Big O" (who really calls it that?!), right? Like the top 6 aren't going to end up being Kaylie, Lauren, Payson, KP, Jordan, and Baby G!

TV commentary:

Alcatraz- So is this show being renewed, or is this where it ends? spoiler cut )

MIOBI- Its weird, that when this show started, it seemed like Emily was the main character, horning in on the three established friends/front runner gymnasts. But then at the start of this ep, its back to just Kaylie, Lauren, and Payson and they're all, "other girls may come and go, but its always us three!" So is Emily just gone? I mean, its realistic, because she got preggers. And its one thing for Payson to come back from a devastating back injury, but no way is Emily coming back from a pregnancy!

Actually, did they revamp the whole cast? I mean, with the girls at camp, it looks like their parents won't being playing big role. And then since its the Olympic training camp and not the Rock, Sasha's not coaching them. I'm not a fan of the new coach. (nor the one wrestler guy, he seems like a smarmy prick) And they try to make you think he's having an affair with the nutritionist, but it turns out she's his wife.

And then there's the new girls Wendy and Jordan. Wendy's young and cute and peppy (though I get the impression underneath the positivity she's Lauren 2.0). Jordan on the other hand seems like Emily 2.0. She's poor and homeless, but insanely talented. Although unlike Emily, she's not an unknown, Kaylie used to be friends with her. But for some reason she's been out of competition for a couple of years. They don't say why, but it seems like she has the same sort of family/money problems as Emily.

What the frick, how did I not know that Tom Friendly was Roscoe in the Dukes of Hazzard movie? Do I even watch TV and movies?! In my defense, I haven't seen the movie in a long time. I'm still skeptical James Roday was the one race car driver dude. (I mean, obviously, he was, but I'll believe it when I see it!) The actress who plays the Katie chick is like my dream girl in real life- she's cute, she was on one of my favorite teen dramas (the OC), she's an avid gamer/geek, and she watches Glee as well as several other of the same shows. Those are all good qualities! I mean, if she was a gun enthusiast, liked karaoke/rock banding, and not a vegetarian/vegan to boot (not that I have a problem with such people, but it would make it a pain in the ass to find a place where we could eat, and I likes to eat), she'd be perfect.

So, apparently my dream girl is a cute geek girl who likes to eat meat, shoot guns, play video games (especially Rock Band), and watches the same shows I do (bonus points if she ships the same ships) and likes to sing along to musicals and Glee. I wonder if I put that on the "looking for" section of a dating profile, if I'd find anyone who fit that. Well that, and not go running for the hills when they discover my... proclivities.

Speaking of Glee, AfterEllen posted their Rachel and Quinn's seven best more than friend moments. Those are all good choices, but they forgot the hallway scene in On My Way, which is like their gayest scene ever- Quinn asking Rachel how she looked in the cheerleader outfit when Kurt and Blaine just told her not a few seconds before she looked hott, the whole "you were singing to Finn and only Finn, right?" (how else are people supposed to interpret that question?!), and the look on Quinn's face when she hugs Rachel? If there was any scene on the show that ever made it look like Quinn was secretly pining for Rachel, its that one.

Oh, why the hell did the cable guide say MIOBI was new last night when it wasn't? Since its been almost a year since the last ep, I watched last night's episode for like 15 minutes before I realized it was a repeat!

Hmm, Warriors Orochi 3 is coming out on the 27th. Its only available via download for the PS3, whereas its an actual disk on the 360. Apparently because there's no english dub track, and SCEA won't release games on discs that are not in English.

Its has everyone ever, and for those who were in the latest titles, its their look from DW7:XL and SW3:XL. Which means Zhao Yun, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei, and Xiahou Dun have their DW7:XL movesets. But additionally, it sounds like a couple of other characters are using their weapons from Dynasty Warriors Next (the DW game for the Vita), so Xu Huang has his great axe and Yue Ying has her scythe, which is awesome. And I guess Pang De has a mace instead of the twin axes, and the corpulent Dong Zhou has his bombs. Owel, I actually liked DZ's EX move with the flail though, the nut kick to sitting on them camel clutch style, and doing the camel clutch until he snapped their neck. It was so brutal!

But I guess I have to get it now! 120 characters though, I haven't even maxed out everyone in DW7:XL yet. But I'm close, I can easily do that part before WO3 comes out.

Cool, free cookies from Asian co-op girl! I'm such a dick, I shoulda helped her with the door since her hands were full. But DW beat me to it.

I guess I can be pretty chauvinist. Like I saw this one chick the other day walking with some of the guys from one of the other groups. And I totally assumed she was like one of their gfs visiting or something. And I come to find out this morning, nope, she's another employee. Oops.

Also, while I am a total banana (and on more than one occasion having forgotten my Asian-ness), I do have some Flip pride. Like I always find it cool to find out some actor or actress is Filipino or part Filipino. I mean, my family went on and on about Charice being on Glee, which is fine and all, but I thought it was pretty cool to find out Blaine was part-Flip.

And I've noticed finding out some chick is part Flip has made them more attractive to me at times. Like I've always liked Vanessa Hudgens and her having Flip ancestry is just gravy. But yeah, Make It or Break It, I always liked "Kelly Parker" because its totally a cute chick name to me, and I'll admit, I dig the meatball head hairstyle. But finding out Nicole Anderson was a Filipina did attract me more. (What's up with her mom on the show being played by Kathy Najimy?! No wonder it was a surprise when they revealed she was Kelly Parker's mother!)

Same for Emily on PLL. I thought she was cute, but for some reason, once I found out she was half Filipino she suddenly got hotter in my eyes. (At least her mother on the show is played by Nia Peeples, who unlike the aforementioned Kathy Najimy and Nicole Anderson, does look like she could be Shay's mother) Even Manny on Degrassi (whom the Pirate Captain on Venture Brothers named his boat after!), I liked her more once I found out she was Filipino and not some kinda Spanish. Not that I don't like Latina chyx, I just felt it was more special that she was one of my kind.

Even pr0n chyx, like Brooke Milano, Michelle Maylene, or Renae Cruz (I know there's another big one I'm missing), I always thought it was cool they had some Filipino in them. (Though disappointing that they don't do "certain things". Well the last one does some of those things, but hasn't done that other thing I like, even though its like, she's gone that far, why not take that extra step) So though it may not seem it, I do have an appreciation for my heritage.

Yet somehow Sean is able to go from France to a point in Russia that is apparently 10 time zones away by train in that short time period. Got MK9 from Amazon today. So I've been alternating between playing it and DW7 this afternoon. I'm starting to get a hang of the new system. Interestingly enough, if you actually remember how to play the characters from the original trilogy, you'll find the button sequences for their special moves are more or less the same. Though there's a lot more to learn! I mean, you could prolly just stick with the tried and true uppercut after Scorpion's spear or Sub Zero's ice, but the new combos are way more satisfying and have a higher damage yield.

I'll have to study their move lists, but at least it seems there are certain patterns to the combos- 3 heavy attacks (i.e. hard punchx3, or hard punchx2 followed by hard kick), alternating heavy-light-heavy, light-light-heavy attacks, or light-heavy-heavy attacks. Of course, that's further complicated by directional motions in some of those combos. But I think you can get away with just knowing one or two combos.

The new super bar is a welcome addition, though I haven't been using it to enhance my special moves or utilizing the new combo breaker (I'm guessing on the harder levels the computer will be a bitch with this). I usually just hoard it until I can pull off one of those devastating x-ray attacks. But since I think it works best to use to get an enemy down to zero, I could prolly stand to enhance a move or two. Or get in the habit of trying to combo break out of things when I can.

But yeah, the tag mechanics are going to be even more work to learn, particularly trying to work in tag assists and quick tag attacks.

TV commentary:

Secret Life- This show has finally done it, its managed to have gotten so retahded that I've finally managed to quit it.

HIMYM- Interesting, so I guess Anders is about to become Robin's new love interest? And hmm, Barney more or less thinks Robin is the only one he'll be able to settle down with? Does that make her the one "he's already met"? Although I guess some are theorizing it might be Nora. It also seems the prevailing theory about that one wedding in the future is either Robin about to marry Anders or Barney marrying Nora, and the other trying to stop it in a season finale cliffhanger?

The Event- Heh, is it lame that the only thing keeping me interested in the Event is the possibility of Sean and Vicky hooking up? And really what the hell was the whole point of that old guy if he was gonna just off himself? Like I can understand the whole sentinel thing, but then what was the whole thing with the turning those girls old earlier in the season?

Chuck- I thought this was a sweet little episode with Sarah and her father. But wait, did they just take off after taking down the bad guys? What about the havoc that will ensue when that Bat Mitzvah shows up during the wedding? Though I guess the styrofoam cake already ruined the wedding. And interesting, so Casey's wife knows he's alive and a government agent. But that whole line where she's all "So you finally have everything you want?" Except her of course. So I'm guessing he's gonna try and get her back?

Make It Or Break It- Is Lauren ever going to get her comeuppance? I mean, I can understand Lauren snowing her father, but even Summer caves to her! It was slightly deliciously evil the way she easily drove a wedge between Payson and photographer guy. Though what the hell was that guy thinking? He should have been expecting trouble when he came over to Lauren's house to take headshots and she was in that slutty school girl outfit. And then when she stripped down to her undies?! That's when if he was serious about having no interest in her that he should've gotten the hell out of there.

But heh, should Emily be worried about Kaylee and Damon? Prolly not, though I'm sure Lauren will try to sow the seeds of discord in that situation. In any case, I'm sure Kaylee's mom will be all excited when she finds out her daughter is getting into singing and song-writing.

TV Commentary:

Secret Life- So Ben proposes to Adrian and she says yes. Interesting, I'm curious if the show has decided to do Ricky/Amy and Ben/Adrian. Which is fine by me, I'm kinda pushing for Ben/Adrian.

Make It or Break It- Argh, WTF Steve?! I thought he was gonna finally man up and show his daughter that there are consequences for her heinous actions. But then he goes and falls for her sobs. He had a chance to redeem himself and possibly let what Lauren did come out in a way that's more favorable for the both of them. But now I'm sure someone else will find out what Lauren did, and that he has now covered it up and it will totally bite him in the ass. Particularly within regards to Summer.

Oh, and as I figured last week, Maeve was totally toast. But it seemed like that would be the only thing that would snap some sense into Kaylee.

And now for the obligatory DW commentary:

Is it me or does the game have way more couplings this time around? I mean, you always had Lu Bu/Diao Chan, Zhu Rong/Meng Huo, and Zhou Yu and Sun Ce and the Qiaos (I forget which one was married to which?) and later Cao Pi and Zhen Ji and Zhuge Liang and Yu Ying. I mean, SSX and Liu Bei were married, but the game didn't highlight it as explicitly as the other couplings. Though in this one they specifically mention it and show them actually together for a scene. I am curious though, now was SSX upset because she was felt her husband's grief upon learning Guan Yu and Zhang Fei were dead? Or was it because she knew that meant he would be going after her family since its the Wu's betrayal that caused their deaths.

But I digress. I guess since as I just mentioned two of the Suns had spouses who were also PCs, did they bring in Lian Shi so Sun Quan wouldn't be left out? Also, its interesting that in the previous games, I thought they kinda paired Guan Ping and Xing Cai since they're the son and daughter of Guan Yu and Zhang Fei respectively. I mean, they had her protective of Liu Shan, but he wasn't a PC. But now that he is (and Ping dies at Fan Castle), they're together. Guan Yu's other son, Guan Suo is also a PC now, but he gets his own gf in Bao Sanniang. And man are they sickly sweet on each other.

Of course, Guan Suo is portrayed as kinda girly, but still a ladies man- in fact when you're going around Fan Castle before the actual battle, one of the soldiers you talk to is all, "What's that in his hair?" (referring to some sort of fancy comb or bow or whatever) and they're all, "Should we tell Guan Yu his son has something funny in his hair?"

Anyways. the last faction, Jin has its own coupling with Sima Zhao and Wang Yuanji. Interestingly enough, I've only seen Meng Huo, Sima Zhao and Lu Bu fly into a rage if you defeat Zhu Rong, Wang or Diao Chan, respectively. I haven't seen that with the Qiaos, though that may just be because I haven't seen them in a stage with their hubbies. Nor have I seen Cao Pi and Zhen Ji together- in Story mode, they're opponents, as the only time she's in a battle is when she was still married to Yuan Shao's son and Cao Pi steals her away. In conquest mode, I've faced Cao Pi as Zhen Ji, and they do have an amusing conversation whenever they fight, all lovers quarrel like. Though I do know Zhuge Liang is pretty chill if you take out Yue Ying.

But yeah, I don't think the reverse happens, i.e., the chyx don't get pissed if you take out their husbands/bfs, which is kinda chauvinist. Also I'm kinda curious about Cai Wenji. As far as I can tell, she's not attached to anyone- again, it seems like all the girls are someone's girlfriend or wife, but she doesn't seem to be anyone's. I mean, Xing Cai's not exactly attached to Liu Shan, but she's definitely fond of him.

Oh, and while I do like Zhong Hui's character design (and the flying swords thing is a cool weapon) his voice doesn't match his look for me. Its very annoying and nasally. I was expecting something more boyish sounding (though no less arrogant than his current voice). But I guess they already have a lot of boys (Guan Ping, Guan Suo, Xiahou Ba, Liu Shan), I suppose they were trying for something different and it just didn't work.

TV Commentary:

Secret Life- Okay, the whole thing with Amy looking like Ricky's mom (his birth mom, that is, not Rose from Lost) was kinda hilarious. And yes its creepy, but you know what's more creepy, Nora? Continuing to bring it up! And the writing on this show continues to confuse me. Midway through the ep, when Mimi (I forget her character's name, so I'm going by her name on the Drew Carey show) was remarking on how content Ben seemed, I figured they were going for a thing where, sure he accidentally knocked up Adrian in an attempt to hurt Amy or make her jealous or whatever, but that he's legitimately fallen for her, and him wanting to marry her is not a ploy to make Amy jealous, that he's gotten over her. But then the end scene with his dad, he just comes off as a petulant brat.

Its like the show is waffling between Adrian and Ben having a legitimate romantic connection and them just being a couple of dumb kids that don't know what they want or what the hell they're doing. Well, I guess the latter is more accurate to real life. But this show really needs to pick one route or the other. Because they put forth pairings that are boring and have no chemistry what so ever, but some of the couples that do have chemistry, the show seems to just be dismissive of them. Seriously, half the time these kids break up, and I have no idea why they're even having an argument. Hell, I don't even think the characters themselves know why the hell they're arguing, because most of the time it makes no friggin sense. I really should just quit this terrible show.

Make It Or Break It- Argh, seriously, I'd like to see an ep where I can not say, "What the hell is wrong with Lauren?" As I've said before, I wouldn't mind her being such a heinous bitch if she was the main rival of the other girls. But inexplicably, they still hang out with her, despite all the horrible things she's done with them, and conversely, even though she seems to despise the other girls, she continues to seek their friendship. I guess the latter can be explained by her being such a emotionally messed up loser that no one else will have her.

Oh, and that Darby chick is kinda hilarious in her total wishy-washiness and obvious avoidance of anything that even resembles a decision.
