Argh, I was just saying I hoped Secret Circle was renewed so I could see how it turns out, but alas, its been canceled. And I guess this means there's no chance of a Vampire Diaries/Secret Circle crossover. I think that would've been neat, though I'm not sure how I'd feel about the two shows existing in the same universe. Of course, I've always been amused by the idea of a unified Abrams universe, and I'm not sure all those shows fit together.

Speaking of Abrams-associated shows, I guess Alcatraz was canceled, but Once Upon a Time was renewed. I know Fringe is coming back, but how about Person of Interest? I think it was doing well in the ratings. So what exactly do I count as an Abrams-universe show? Those shows which he had a hand in, or at least involved some of the Lost staff, and referenced either each other or previous shows. So, Felicity, Alias, Lost, Undercovers, Fringe, Person of Interest, and Alcatraz. I don't believe Abrams has any involvement in OUAT, but former Lost folk do, and they've referenced elements of the Abrams world.

But I digress. To my surprise Nikita and Hart of Dixie were renewed. Owel, while I did enjoy Secret Circle, out of those 3, it would be last on my list. If I had to choose, Nikita would've been my number 1 pick for renewal (seriously, after TVD, its the next best show the CW has!), followed by Hart of Dixie. I'm disappointed I don't get to find out how things would've turned out in Secret Circle, but unless the season finale of HoD resolved it, I was more concerned about seeing how that insane love pentagon was going to turn out.

Alcatraz- So is this show being renewed, or is this where it ends? spoiler cut )

MIOBI- Its weird, that when this show started, it seemed like Emily was the main character, horning in on the three established friends/front runner gymnasts. But then at the start of this ep, its back to just Kaylie, Lauren, and Payson and they're all, "other girls may come and go, but its always us three!" So is Emily just gone? I mean, its realistic, because she got preggers. And its one thing for Payson to come back from a devastating back injury, but no way is Emily coming back from a pregnancy!

Actually, did they revamp the whole cast? I mean, with the girls at camp, it looks like their parents won't being playing big role. And then since its the Olympic training camp and not the Rock, Sasha's not coaching them. I'm not a fan of the new coach. (nor the one wrestler guy, he seems like a smarmy prick) And they try to make you think he's having an affair with the nutritionist, but it turns out she's his wife.

And then there's the new girls Wendy and Jordan. Wendy's young and cute and peppy (though I get the impression underneath the positivity she's Lauren 2.0). Jordan on the other hand seems like Emily 2.0. She's poor and homeless, but insanely talented. Although unlike Emily, she's not an unknown, Kaylie used to be friends with her. But for some reason she's been out of competition for a couple of years. They don't say why, but it seems like she has the same sort of family/money problems as Emily.

Tried the dorito shell tacos at taco bell. They're quite messy. I dunno how I feel about my hands being caked in doritos dust after eating these.

TV commentary:

Alcatraz- Heh, I don't know why I still get a kick out of it whenever they show previous 63s they recaptured just sitting in their cells (or just hanging around in the background in the past). Like I don't know what SAG rules are, but since they don't speak, how much do they actually get paid? Well, not as much as a role with a line, I'm sure, but I guess prolly a decent amount for just standing around somewhere for a minute.

What I am curious about is who they decide to use for those scenes? Well, the only two I recognize is the first guy and sniper guy, and I guess in the current time they showed one other guy in this ep. Are those the only actors they could get back, or are those the only ones they were able to take alive?

One Tree Hill- Eh, after catching last week's ep, I wanted to see how things turned out, so I'm watching it right now. Heh, are they going to pull a DC here? Julian finally thinks he has the perfect idea for his soundstage after re-reading "A Kindness of Ravens". He realizes that while it didn't work as a movie, it might work as a TV show. So just like Dawson created Dawson's Creek on the show, is Julian going to create OTH?

I've come to realize, "This Means War" is totally my kind of movie. I mean, an action movie with Bane and new Kirk that's also a Reese Witherspoon rom-com? All they need to do is throw in a musical number and it'll be one of the greatest movies evar!

TV commentary:

Alcatraz- Not much to say about this show. It was okay, very Abrams-ish. And the main chick was played by white supremacist guy's daughter from season 2 of SoA (amusingly enough, she's dating Juice in real life), who I always thought was pretty cute, so that's good. She has really nice blue eyes, and those aren't the only nice globes she has! ("heh.") The mystery is interesting enough, though not as compelling as previous Abrams shows, but it did have an interesting twist or two.

Gossip Girl- You know, I should really quit this show, because its not going to end the way I want it, so why put myself through the torture? Its just the writers are so good at teasing the possibility. But they're backing the wrong horse. I mean, it says something that this ep was supposed to be about Chuck and Blair, with her ridiculous deal with god, but it was Dair that ended up trending.

But I digress, speaking of said deal, I thought it was random that Chuck almost got hit by that cab. Then it turned out to be hilarious when we find out later that Blair was looking out the window at the time, thinking about her "I'll marry Louis if you keep Chuck alive and safe" deal.

Its kinda B-S that she's thinking only about Chuck and Louis, when Dan has been by her side the whole time, the one she relies on, who loves her despite all she'd done to him and knowing all her dirty secrets. Why would she want to be with the nice, devoted guy who shares her passions when she can be with the Prince who doesn't trust her, or the bad boy who when they get together its just toxic?! WTF.

I swear, I don't care if they get together and the writers ruin it later, as long as they get together at some point. I mean, they can't tease all this between them and have nothing come of it! At least give the audience Blair admitting things aren't so one-sided! I will be majorly pissed if he never gets together with her and gets over his unrequited crush with Serena of all people. Because I can see why people are for Chuck and Blair, because at least he is trying to make an effort to be a better man for her. Its convenient that Serena is suddenly all so in love with Dan again now that he only has eyes for Blair!

As for the Charlie Rhodes thing, hold up! The impression I got was Carol hid true Charlie away, so she wouldn't get involved in the UES, and that real Charlie was unaware about the whole ordeal. But she's been at Julliard this whole friggin time?! I call shenanigans. I mean, she seemed legitimately unaware who Lily was, and if she really was trying to avoid that part of her life, she wouldn't respond to her name. So that points to her being clueless of her mother's plan. But she had to know she was from a rich family, because she knew Serena when they were kids. So even if her mom did cut off ties with that side of the family, she should be aware they are rich and from NY, and as such should known they're from the UES.

And even if she didn't know they were from the UES, Ivy as Charlie was all over GG! I can understand her being unaware if she was random working class waitress, but she's at friggin Julliard. Surely she'd bump into people there who would be aware of the goings on in the UES and even if they didn't know Charlie was actually related to Serena's family, they'd be all, "Hey, there's this rich new debutante with the exact same name as you!" and point Ivy out to real Charlie. And she might be amused, but then you'd think seeing a Charlie Rhodes with a girl named Serena with a mom named Lily would make her think, what a weird koinky-dink, I have a cousin Serena and Aunt Lily! (and I'm pretty sure they had Carol in a few of the society pics with her family, so she'd be all, "wait a minute, that's my mom with those people!") It does not make sense!

And ha, that resolution to the Blair pregnancy is kinda hilarious. "Oh no, I lost the baby in the crash. But more importantly how is Chuck doing?"
