TV commentary:

Gossip Girl- Blair was looking particularly cute at the beginning of this ep, though did she have a cold during filming? So this ep, Blair's in a tizzy because Dan ranked higher than her on some silly list in the New Yorker. So, she tries to steal his spotlight at one of his pretentious literary events. Dan's annoyed, but she defends her behavior, claiming she's sick and tired of being in the shadow of the men in her life- Chuck, Louis, now Dan. Dan tells her he's not trying to eclipse her and that they're equals. That and he wishes she could see herself the way he sees her- a fiercely strong, independant, outspoken, beautiful woman. You know, I've said countless times before, I don't want to jinx things by using the word engdame. But honestly, the way they've built up Dair, its just a healthier, happier relationship than furniture ever was. So if this isn't how things end for Blair, that's just ridiculous!

As for the rest of the ep, Van der Woodsens? More like Van der bitches! So, William decides to reveal to Lola that he's her father. He ends up lying to Serena to spend time with Lola, so when Serena catches him ditching her to spend time with his "niece", she's pissed. Heh, finding out William is her dad gives Lola new perspective on the whole accidentally outing Diana as Chuck's mom thing on GG. So, she wants to talk to Nate about it. She mentions finding out who her dad was, but unfortunately Nate's busy investigating Diana so he can't talk just yet and doesn't learn its William. Later, when Serena comes by, he mentions to her, "Oh, Lola just found out who her dad was and spent the whole morning with him!" Serena surprises me by putting two and two together and figuring out her sister is her cousin and tells her mom.

Now, Lily seems to take it well, but apparently she's a sociopath. Despite having totally screwed over Ivy by paying off the nurse to lie in court to get the judge to invalidate the will, she calls up Ivy to screw over Carol. Lily goes through with the fancy dinner party she intended to have before this news (albeit dis-inviting Rufus because his goody-goodiness would get in the way of her plans), because she apparently has a flare for the dramatic.

In the aftermath, Lily pays Ivy $1 million(!), but Ivy never wanted money, she wanted family. So, she ends up ripping up the check. Rufus is furious of course, even more so when Lily was all who will you find to take care of you. Its like what the shit, is she out of her damn mind?! Rufus was wondering if them being on break was right, but that statement solidified it for him.

She also gets William to get Carol to sign over her half of the trust to protect their daughter. Afterward, William tells Lily he was successful, and asks if she'll be true to her word and take care of Lola. Lily acts all innocent, "Of course, why would I screw over the love child of you and my sister?" William is no fool though, so no way is he going to turn over the money back to Lily.

Like mother, like daughter- Lola wants to team up with Serena against their parents, but Serena is totes jealous of how much attention their dad is paying attention to her sister/cousin, so Serena basically tells her to fuck off. Granted, it is kinda messed up how William ignored Serena all her life, but once he finds out about Lola, he's there for her.

And what the? So Diana isn't Chuck's real mom, but Jack is possibly Chuck's real dad?!

Make It or Break It- That was kinda shocking! So, Payson is too fearful for Lauren and reveals her heart condition, so she's out. Needless to say, she's incredibly pissed at Payson. Also eliminated? Kelly Parker! WTF!? All of a sudden, she hasn't been improving as much as the other girls, and she apparently peaked at worlds? Seems like a retcon to me. But she's fine with it, because she only wanted the gold medal to get away from her mother.

But she finally has it out with her mother (particularly when she tries to play the race card and says the only reason she got kept on was because she and coach are black!) and dumps her as her mom. So, even though she's leaving, her friendship with Kaylie is still going on strong, and they resolve to stay friends even though they're not going to the Olympics together. While I'm glad to see KP finally has real friends, I'm totally annoyed she got cut.

Oh, and apparently Wendy's cute and innocent act is just that, an act. It turns out she was the mole. Well, she pretended to inadvertently let KP's mom find out about things, knowing full well she'd snitch for her. That way, Wendy gets to get the other girls in trouble without it getting back to her. After all, she's just young and talkative and she totes didn't mean to tell Kelly Parker's mom and certainly didn't know she'd use that info against them! KP's mom threatens to expose her, but Wendy rightly says, like they would believe her!
