Sep. 23rd, 2010 06:11 pmJeez, these TV shows nowadays have too many web connections. I mean, Community has their twittersode before tonight's season premiere. I already follow too many people on twitter, including the actors of Community. Now they want me to follow their alter-egos as well? Though I guess I don't actually have to follow them to read their tweets. Since the link above lists all the relevant twitter accounts I guess I can just click on them to see what I need to, If I felt like it.
Then this week's 90210 preview for next week's ep indicates Ade was gonna sing one of songs she pilfered from the accident at Javier's funeral (I know Ivy's mom said the music company wanted her to, but she's got to worry that's bad juju, even if Javier was a total dick to her right before he died) and someone filmed it and uploaded it to youtube and it goes viral. But they have actually posted it to youtube as if it were a real vid.
TV Commentary:
Raising Hope- I wasn't actually too interested in this from the previews, but
clevemire said it was good, so I checked it out. And I enjoyed it. Though sometimes I worry I have like emotional problems or something, having gotten verklempt over the end of the ep. (The same thing happened the other day over a friggin Christmas ep of the Ghost Whisper I had left it on while eating dinner. WTF?!) He had mentioned the mother was some famous actress that I'd know some time during dinner at Yeah! Burger with the usual suspects, but I didn't find out until later it was Bijou Phillips. Who I've always had a thing for. Actually, she looked pretty good in this. Though honestly, I'm skeptical they would do what they did there. Its like she said, they would never do that!
NCIS- rjv('Cold blooded!') I'm kinda amused how last season's cliffhanger turned out. The Elder Gibbs handled himself pretty well, outdrawing Paloma, and avoiding her gunmen when she had them shoot up the store. Anyways, what the hell, how crooked is NCIS? I mean, they've continued to cover up Gibbs' murder of that one drug lord. Granted, the guy slaughtered his wife and daughter, but what he did was still illegal. Anyways, that's the problem with revenge though, he killed the Wonder Twins' (HA!) father, of course they would go after him for the same reasons he went after their dad.
But why couldn't they capture her? I mean, was this just to get both of them since the brother has technically done nothing illegal? So instead, they trick him into thinking they killed her, so he would go after Gibbs and unwittingly ends up killing his sister? That's kinda messed up, getting him to accidentally kill his own sister to take care of the problem.
Life Unexpected- What the hell? Because Baze needs the money, Lux tries the convince the teacher dude not to turn down the apartment just because of her. How do they expect nothing to go on between them if they have that temptation? Sure, she splits her time between Cate's and Baze's, but I still think that would be totally ccv('Inappropriate!'). I mean, a young male teacher living with a 16 year old student not related to him? I guess Math's in that same sitch, and I'm surprised that's not frowned upon either! She's already viewed as an outsider, surely the rumor mills would be in an uproar that she sometimes lived with not one but two teachers?! Even if nothing happened with her and teacher guy, if the fact that they kissed (before he knew she was underaged and she knew he was her new English teacher) got out, they would totally think something happened if they lived together. So he is wise to not take the room. I'm slightly disappointed though, because that means Math or Baze won't walk in to them doing something suspicious and Baze totally kicking the guy's ass. Because I think he easily could! But heh, haven't seen Anya in stuff in the longest time, so its amusing to see her here. And argh, Baze finds out who Paige is and she's living with Cate and Ryan. But he doesn't press the issue because he doesn't want Ryan to know he banged his sister? I guess things are tense enough between them as it is. But I can't wait for Ryan to find out and see the fists start flying. And he, I just noticed, Baze has banged both Cate and Ryan's sisters!
Glee- heard previews for next week's songs- Apparently they're doing: Toxic (group number), Baby One More Time (Rachel), Stronger (Artie), I'm a Slave 4 U (Brittany), Me Against the Music (Brit and Santana), and Paramore's "The Only Exception" (Rachel). Interesting, Mike and Brit are the only ones we haven't heard sing solo yet, but now we know what HeMo's voice sounds like. She's not too bad. I don't think she's as good as the other girls, but she does fine with the songs she has here.
Hawaii Five-0- Surprising number of relatively known guest stars in this. And I don't recall the original Hawaii Five-0, but I didn't think it was this action packed. It seems a little more Miami Vice than Hawaii Five-0. And holy crap Boomer looks hot in skimpy bikinis!
