TV Commentary:

Human Target- Gun gripe for the ep. At the party, Chance sees the sniper rifle on Guerrero's back and is all "M14?" But its not an M14, as it was a bolt action rifle that I'm too lazy to figure out what it is. I had to watch the ep again to make sure he didn't say M40, which is a bolt action. (Though the stock was not that of the A1 or A3 models). But according to the captions, he did say M14.

Although at the end in Geneva he was actually using an M14. Though he was using it after saying in the previous scene, "I'm going to need something with more power!" But in the earlier convo at the party, his response to Chance's "M14?" implied he was using because of the .308 cartridge. But since the rifle he was using later is also chambered for .308, there's no diff. Unless he meant "firepower" as in he's using a semi-auto rather than a bolt action.

Speaking of, while the M14 is a fine weapon, I'm not sure it would be the best choice to use for precision cover fire in the situation they were in. Its an accurate weapon, though it needs a lot of work to be "sniper" accurate. I mean, the reason special operations units use it in places like Afghanistan is its a more robust and reliable weapon than the other semi-auto choices, albeit less accurate. Well, "less accurate" is a relative term, its still precise enough to snipe someone from hundreds of meters away just not as precise as something like a PSG-1 or an M110 SASS. But with innocents and friendlies about, and needing the ability to make quick follow up shots, he could've picked a more accurate semi-auto since he was in a city and not the middle of the desert, so reliability wasn't an issue. Its not like there are dust storms in Geneva.

Life Unexpected- Heh, so this is where Declan from Degrassi has gone! Owel, with Life Unexpected more or less canceled, I guess not all Degrassi kids who get on a CW show hit it big. Well, maybe only if you're an attractive female, like Darcy (who's now Annie on 90210) or Mia (who plays both Katherine and Elena on Vampire Diaries). Or does it have to be an attractive female who used to date Peter? Anyways, its weird to see Declan as Anya from Buffy's son. But I digress, after covering for Lux for all the trouble she got into this ep, he transfers to the school and quickly figures out Lux and the teacher are secretly seeing each other. I'm guessing if this show wasn't getting axed, he would possibly break them up? Hey, at least he's age appropriate for her.

So that's why Lux is having trouble in school, because the husband of that chick from earlier in the season who Tasha was initially being fostered and we find out wanted to adopt Lux had smacked her around? And are they not coming after Lux and Tasha for Tasha beaning the guy in the head with a shovel after he attacked Lux again?

So the Teen Choice Awards were filmed last night (and showing tonight on Fox). So I was looking over a list of the nominees and winners, and its what I'd expect, for the most part. I mean, the Jonas Brothers beating Steve Carell for "Choice Comedy TV Actor", or Channing Tatum winning "Choice Movie Action Actor" for friggin G.I.Joe is totally ridiculous, but not unexpected. Its the Teen Choice Awards, so of course things like Vampire Diaries and Twilight would be big winners! Although I'll admit, I watch and enjoy the Vampire Diaries, and the show ended up being better than I expected from when I saw the pilot. But it being a better sci fi/fantasy show than Lost and Fringe?!

Anyways, there's only one winner that totally baffles me. And its the "Choice Action TV Show" category. The nominees were 24, NCIS:LA, Burn Notice, Chuck, and Human Target. And the winner? NICS:LA. Really?! I mean, I always thought NCIS was an old people's show. Of those choices, I would think it would be between 24 and Chuck. Teens watch NCIS: Los Angeles?!

So, had an appointment for a CAT scan today at 9am. Its about a 12 minute drive to the place, and I figured, I'll leave 745, that should leave me more than enough time to get there by 9. I'm a frayed knot! WTF!? How does what should be a 15 minute drive turn into an hour and 15 minute drive. Stupid rush hour traffic!

Of course, in typical doctor's office fashion, I get there right on time, and I'm still stuck in the waiting room for another half hour. Had the scan, but as the tech put in the IV needle for the contrast, she's all "Oh, so you're one of those people who likes to watch!" as if I'm some weirdo masochist or something. What's wrong about watching?! If someone is gonna be sticking me with needles, I like to see what's gonna be going on!

I also needed some blood work done. So I sit down, and the tech gets ready. I know the drill, I figure she'll pull out a test tube, maybe two. She pulls out a dozen!! WTF!? Luckily it was close to lunch time, so after, went down the road and hit perimeter, and killed some time there until it was time for the food court to open. Played with the ipad a little more. I dunno, maybe I'm a moron, but I just don't find the controls for these apple products intuitive. I mean, I eventually got used to the ipod control sceme, but navigating things like the ipad/phone/touch still isn't natural-feeling to me.

For lunch, replenished the blood loss with a cuban meatloaf samich and an oreo brownie blast for dessert. As I ate lunch, this hottie walks by in these ridiculously short-shorts that barely covered her butt and were tight as hell. Seriously, those things looked painted on, I basically knew exactly what her ass looked like. I figured when I went to post this someone would be all, "Post pics or it didn't happen". So, taking a page from the Chappelle Show, I walked up to her, introduced myself as John Leguizamo, star of such films as "Moulin Rouge!", "Romeo+Juliet", and "To Wong Foo, Thanks For Everything, Julie Newmar". I told her I was doing an upcoming E! special on "Great Atlanta Asses". She was proud to flaunt her derriere, and I was about to take a pic of her posterior for posterity, but then Mall Security came up and was all "You can't be doing that sir!" and threatened to kick us out if we didn't stop. Okay, not really.

But seriously, those shorts were totally ccv('Inappropriate!') for the mall. I mean, there was a group of kids sitting close by too! I saw them at the apple store earlier. Which means their teacher took them on an outing to the local mall?! What class takes field trips to the Apple Store?! It does not make cents!

And what's this a post that has nothing to do with TV? Okay, maybe some comments:

South Park- I liked how they tied so many things in. But I'm wondering, will they actually follow things up next week, or are they gonna pull that Terence and Phillip BS again?

Human Target- So, its the season finale. And hey, that one chick they always talked about ended up being played by Amy Acker. Always glad to see her in stuff. spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

Human Target- Do you know what's getting played out on these kinda shows? Where they start the story in the middle, and do the "24 hours earlier" or what have you thing. Also, delving into the world of illegal underground fighting. Hey, I like people beating the crap out of each other as much as the next guy, but its getting to the point where every show seems to have at least one ep like this, and then the people are all, "Underground fighting, what's that?" as if the audience hasn't figured it out from the other dozens of shows that have had the same plot.

Also, the ep relied too much on people conveniently being old friends of Winston or Guerrero. Its kinda cheating when that's how they get around a problem.

90210- Actually, this ep had me thinking, how many people who learn to dance cotillion remember it beyond the one party they have to do it for? It seems like you learn it once, there's really only one big party you use it at, and then you never use it again. I mean, that's the way it was for me, I don't even think I could remember how to dance that anymore. Or square dancing. Speaking of, why the hell did you have to learn that in gym class? Or at least we did up North. Because when I came down south, people were all, "Square dancing for gym, that's crazy!"

Anyhoo, onto the actual ep. spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

Human Target- So this show is getting somewhat interesting. And cool, is Autumn Reeser's Layla going to be a recurring character now that she's joined their team? Always glad to see her in stuff. spoiler cut )

Scrubs- So, I hear last night's Scrubs season finale could be the finale finale? Not that they didn't already have one. Anyways, I'm curious is "cadaver thank you day" or whatever they called it a real thing? That seems so weird! I mean, inviting the families of people donated as cadavers for medical students and having the students talking about how big a help it was to their education? On the one hand, that seems morbid and insane, but I can also see how they might want to show appreciation to the families for such a donation.

90210- Wait, Ashley from SoN was Gia's ex? I totally didn't recognize her last week. Is she a lesbian in real life? I guess just because someone plays multiple lesbos doesn't mean they are. I mean, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Olivia Wilde have played lesbians on multiple things, but I think they're straight. Or Mia Kirshner. Actually, I think she plays a lot of bisexuals. Though I didn't watch the L-word, which was she on that? I also forgot they had Julianna Guill playing Teddy's sister. Is it me, or does she have an amazing rack?

South Park- Pretty hilarious ep. I saw this online, so what was particularly funny was that one of the commercials was one of those new line of Axe commercials where they show you a hot chick or several and then they ask you her name (which was either mentioned or shown on screen), and of course the point is you don't know because you were staring at the hot chick. I blame the alien wizards! (or is it wizard aliens?) But really, I've seen the commercial before, so I don't think it was an intentional pairing, but it is hilarious that it worked out that way.

SVU- Diora Baird, while a hot, big breasted red-head who played a hapless victim in a reboot of a classic horror movie franchise like the aforementioned Julianna Guill (with Diora being in the prequel to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot and Julianna showing her goodies in the Friday the 13th reboot), she's kinda a blah actress. Though I guess she was well suited to the role of histrionic hot chick.spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

White Collar- WTF?! Okay, the thing with the Jade Elephants from the Forbidden City? Isn't the Forbidden City and "Imperial Jade" a Chinese thing?! So it confused the hell out of me when they were talking about returning them to the Japanese! Did Japan also have a forbidden city? Or did the writers totally screw up and mix up Japanese and Chinese culture?

And is it me, or is Neal's fence of indeterminate exotic ethnicity kinda hot?

Human Target- damn, I'm good. spoiler cut )

Psych- And I'm two for two. spoiler cut )

Speaking of crime fighting shows:

Name the TV show from the Crime Fighting Duo- I got 22 out of 36, at least its over 50%. There were a couple of obvious recent ones I missed, and a few I almost missed. Like that show with the Mountie. I used to watch that all the time on TNT, I'm kinda sad they don't show it anymore, I enjoyed it.
