White Collar- So the promo for the ep after the holidays says they have a "twist you won't see coming". Rebecca is going to totally end up being a secret bad guy, isn't she? Although that may be too obvious a twist. I mean, plot wise, I can't think of any reason why she'd be playing Neal and she hadn't done anything suspicious, but I wanna say there's always been something off about her ever since she was introduced. Feb. 20th, 2013 07:57 pmI thought this was a nice article concerning the ending of the Mass Effect series.
TV commentary:
White Collar- Finally, Peter knows Neal was only lying to him for Elizabeth's sake. But heh, he was secretly helping Neal anyways, in a way so he wouldn't be directly involved, thus alleviating Elizabeth's worries.
Justified- Hey, its Diana from Secret Circle! Nice to see her still working! Heh, isn't she a bit young for Raylan though? I mean, I assumed he banged her, what with her saying she had a crush on him and Raylan being all "Oh, she wouldn't like an old fogie like me!" to the boss man. Well, that and her undressing and hopping in the shower right in front of him while he was on the phone.
And heh, is that first time Raylan's shot someone dead this season? It was a little anti-climactic though, given that this guy didn't seem so tough to begin with, and he had a broken hip. Also, how did I not realize the sniper marshall guy was the best friend from Euro Trip? Weird!

So USA's newest show coming in 2013, Graceland, which seems to be about undercover agents or something, the lead is named Mike again? I know its a common name, but that's the third USA show with a Mike lead (the other two being Suits and Burn Notice)
Perception- I feel the need to say this every so often, but dang, RLC is wicked mad cute. Anyways, so we learn the truth about Natalie. Talk about awkward! ( spoiler cut )
White Collar- Weird! So the gun battle at the end the bad guys were using old ass Ruger automatic rifles, but then they also had the snazzy new 1216 shotgun? Oh, and that wasn't too big a surprise. ( spoiler cut )

White Collar- Neal may be mad at Peter for not trusting him, but he doesn't make it easy. One, he may think be coy is all cute and funny, but it doesn't exactly inspire confidence that he's not a total liar. And two, I thought he's supposed to be good at reading people. If Peter gets like that, Neal should know by now that Peter knows something. Hell, it doesn't even have to be about reading Peter. He should know from friggin experience, as I think they've run into this same argument at least thrice before! Its like sure, Neal has proven himself time and again, but hey, maybe he could try not to undermine that by constantly acting shady!
Sons of Anarchy- Holy jeez! ( spoiler cut )

Aug. 22nd, 2012 10:11 amWait, the English pronounce Hyundai differently?! Why?! Given the word is foreign to both Americans and English, shouldn't there be one, proper pronunciation, however they pronounce it in Korean? I mean, I actually don't know the proper pronunciation, because even in America, I've heard both Hun-day and Hun-die. But then I was watching some British thing, and they say Hi-un-die!

God Bless America
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (the original one)
The Girl who Played with Fire
The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest
True Grit (the new one)
Hobo With a Shotgun
The Horde
Rampage
13 Assassins
Corpse Princess
Winter's Bone
18 to Life (that short lived show with Derek from LWD and Ellie from Degrassi)
Bunraku
District 13: Ultimatum
Ong Bak 3
Dear Lemon Lima
Lo
Geek Charming
That's too big of a backlog, I need to get cracking.

Jul. 25th, 2012 08:53 amHmm, so when my alarm went off this morning, it was a news break, and one of the stories was about a grandmother turning herself in for giving her 10 month old grandson cocaine. And then they said she was 34. Being a grandma at 34. cliffv('What's up with that?!')
TV commentary:
White Collar- Interesting, we get some more tidbits about Neal's back story this week. ( spoiler cut )
Degrassi- Hmm, I was a little bit confused by Zig trying to be all, "it wasn't me, you have the wrong guy!" to Marisol over the dine and dash. Like she said, his girlfriend is in Power Squad with her, AND he's in her boyfriend's band! Like is he that dumb? Or was he oblivious? I thought the scene at the dinner and he saw Marisol was his waitress, that look one his face was "Oh crap, how can I dine and dash if its someone who knows me!?" Or did he just say that out of desperation, even though he knew it wouldn't work?
And what the, weird, Dallas giving Fiona good advice over Imogen? So he's not a total dick. And geez, Alli telling Dave to forget the condom because her parents come home in 20 minutes and there's no time. Someone's getting knocked up!

Jul. 18th, 2012 01:12 pmTV commentary:
White Collar- Huh, interesting way to get Neal off, to give Mekhi Logan Huntzberger/Quinn Fabray's dad since he's apparently some huge FBI most wanted guy and thus a bigger catch. Its amusing though that Neal's back in White Collar, but Peter's persona non grata and has been transferred out.
Covert Affairs- Hmm, first they kill off Mohinder in the season premiere, and I just noticed CTB has been relegated to guest status? Although to be fair, her role on this show is rather pointless. And Nina's role on the show is still weird, given how she's all "Annie, eff these guys for intel!"
Degrassi- Shut the eff up, Marisol, Bianca's wardrobe isn't slutty, its awesome! I love the loose fitting half shirts she's apparently started wearing since the school no longer has uniforms. But wow, Drew is an idiot! At least he manned up and finally broke up with Katie properly (after drunkedly sleeping with her and thus making her think they were back together) But telling Katie not to reveal they slept together to Bianca? Yeah, that's not gonna blow up in his face!

Feb. 8th, 2012 11:22 amMinotaur heads were an option for CAS in the previous Soul Caliburs, but this is the first time I think you could have hooved legs. Between that, and better adjustment of your character's size (now you can really make hulking beasts), I decided to create a Kiltar (using Astaroth's moveset, obviously). I think the design can be improved though, but the pieces I'm thinking about using from the previous games haven't unlocked yet.
Its why I've been holding off on creating some characters. So far, I've made a Kaz (I still haven't decided on the right color set, the Crane Clan's colors were light blue and white, so I've been using that), Angelyn (and her non-fallen form, Arduine), Innocence Wrapped in Exquisite Torment (and with the ability to add tattoos anywhere now, I added a tramp stamp), and Linaria. I think those designs can be improved by pending equipment (particularly the full armor sets) Once those armors are unlocked, I can make a Siltrana, and they actually have a skull faceplate thing, so I can make a more accurate Gambit! I'm kinda pissed you can't use Ezio's movesset for created characters, because it would've been perfect for Abdul. And I think I said before, I've never made a Belle, but I have some ideas. I'm thinking Patroklos or Pyrrha (either version) for the moveset since she did use a sword and shield (of missile attraction, but with immunity to normal missiles). Hmm, and I just had an idea for a Takeo, using the Devil Jin moveset.
(Yeah, I know only one or two of you know what the hell I've just been talking about, but whatever)
I also forgot to mention you can now add patterns to the clothes/armor, which gives you even more options. Particularly if you've always wanted tiger stripes or leopard print to give your clothing/armor a more animal hide type appearance. So that's cool.
TV commentary:
White Collar- Wait, when did Sara and Neal break up?! I thought she was made at him over his deception, but with Keller menacing them, I thought they worked it out. Like, all this time she wasn't around, I just thought she was working a case outside of NYC!
Anyways, so that E! online poll for 2012's best TV couple I posted about a couple of entries ago has been extended and a captcha added. The current stats have Barney and Robin neck and neck with Britanna, and Jannie, Castiel/Dean, and Faberry with a sizable lead over their opponents.
I'm sure like all online polls, there's some cheating involved, much like when The Grimstari flooded the ballot box for William Wallace in WWWF's grudge match of William Wallace vs Groundskeeper Willy, but I'm actually kinda curious if E! is implementing such measures because of the cheating, or because they did not expect the... tenacity of the fandoms, and are not pleased with the results.
I mean, if the current stats do end reflectng the actual winners, that means 2 of the couples in the final four are "non-canon" and "same-sex though none of the characters is actually gay". And those two are going against each other, so the finals will guarantee one of the choices is a non-canon not gay/lesbian on the show same-sex couple. And I'm not sure they know how they would write up their article if either won. Like, "apparently a bunch of people voted these two characters as the best TV couple of 2012, even though they are not an actual couple on the show, or each other's sexual preferences"?
And the non-canon thing is one thing, but if Britanna beats out the BroTP, its up against Jannie. I'm not sure who has a more rabid shipper fanbase, Brittany and Santana or Jeff and Annie. I think Britanna would prolly win over them, because while both have decent internet followings, I think there are more rabid Glee fans than Community fans. Well, let me specify. Glee has more rabid fans who love Brittana than Community has Jannie fans, because there's a significant portion of Community fans who hate the very idea of ships on their beloved show and think the time they spend on Jeff and Annie is wasted. Then again, Jeff and Annie did win last years poll.
Anyways, if it did end up being Brittana vs either Castiel/Dean or Faberry, that would put the final two as same-sex couples, and while I like to think we've progressed enough as a people in America to be fine with gay couples on our television screen, the best TV couple in 2012 being a same-sex one? That might be hard for some fans to swallow!

Anyhoo, it was kinda weird to see Jade play like a nice (as in not totally mean), normal high schooler. Heh, apparently the actor who played Evan is/was going out with Cat in real life as well? In any case, what was Neal thinking being a substitute teacher to get close to her? I mean, he had to know he was going to have all the girls in the class all gaga over him. What was he going to do if Evan wasn't in this class for him to deflect Chloe's attentions to?!

Jan. 18th, 2012 10:46 amWork being work. cliffv('What's up with that?!') I had to come in an hour early yesterday to get a project done. And then I had to come in again at 2130 to get another thing taken care of, since there weren't enough people around to do it and it had to be done. But at least that stuff is all done now.
And what's with all the TV on all of a sudden? Monday night suddenly has a crapload of stuff- HIMYM, Gossip Girl, PLL, Alcatraz, House, Hart of Dixie, Hawaii Five-O, and Castle. Thursdays are also annoying. Since the CW and Fox are the ones with the delays showing up online, they're the obvious choice for the DVR. But I'm not going to not watch Vampire Diaries asap. So shockingly enough, the must see NBC comedies are pushed to Friday. I guess it wouldn't be so annoying if NBC didn't put crap at 930 instead of 830. At least that way I could watch the Office. But since I don't watch whatever is after the Office, efficiency dictates I watch The Finder, Secret Circle, or Person of Interest instead, and I'd rather watch one of the NBC comedies over those.
Although I guess I can not record VD, since I'd be watching it live anyways, and its not like I don't grab it almost immediately afterward like I do with Glee. So if I did miss VD, I'd be able to find it pretty quickly. Then I could do VD, The Office, then 30 Rock, back to live TV to catch Archer, then Parks & Rec, then either Secret Circle, Bones, or Finder if I'm not feeling tired.
Anyhoo, is it me, or because cable show seasons don't follow the same format as network TV, I swear it seems longer between seasons. Like watching Justified and White Collar, I totally forgot those cliffhangers.

Aug. 10th, 2011 12:10 amAnyhoo, had the YAG laser thing today. And as further evidence that I'm too young to have had such issues, I think I was younger than everyone else waiting there by a couple of decades or more. I mean, they were talking about their grand children (and great grand children!) and marveling at the wonders of modern medicine and technology! It was weird. In any case, things are clearer in the left eye, so that's good.
So, there's actually a 10 minute director's cut version of Best Coast's "Our Deal":
Heh, since this version has credits I noticed original mini-Coop's (i.e. Amy from SLotAT) name along with Hit Girl, Teen Wolf, iCarly, Troy, and Maeby. And I was like, really? And I totally did not recognize her as the white chick who was hanging out with Troy. I mean, once I knew it was her, it became obvious to me, but the first time through I had no idea!
TV commentary:
White Collar- I guess what annoys me about the whole thing with the treasure is that Neal didn't actually have anything to with the theft. Mozzie is the one who stole it, and all Neal really did was not tell Peter about it. Granted, he had no problem accepting the treasure once Mozzie revealed he had it and was sharing it with him. But still, its a far cry from Neal going back to his old ways. I think he's in a crappy position because he doesn't want to betray either of his friends, Peter or Mozzie. But the show doesn't really dwell on the fact that Neal wasn't complicit in the theft, even though I think its an important point because he was dragged into it. So him wanting to stay with the Feebs isn't really him changing his mind- he already had settled into his current position and being told that the treasure was out there, and it was now his gave him another option. But it wasn't one he really wanted and him entertaining the idea was more about not wanting to let Mozzie down.
I mean, I think one of the main reasons Peter is so hell bent on proving Neal stole the treasure is because he felt betrayed, and Neal never really betrayed him.
Pretty Little Liars- Hmm, so when Aria's dad says Mike was reminding him of his brother, I'm wondering if his brother is a really messed up drug addict, or has a mental disorder? Speaking of the Montgomerys all those dream sequences had me wondering, have she and Ezra been intimate? Because if they had, he could potentially go to jail!
Also, what the hell was Em talking about when she babbled about poker faces and bluffing when figuring out what to do about A forcing her to give Zoey her number? Heh, she actually came up with a good cover the next day, why didn't she do that instead of the whole, "Oh, you forgot something! My number!" I mean, if she had done that the previous night, then her statement about bluffing would make sense, because then I would figure she was bluffing A and making it look like she was doing what A wanted while having a legitimate excuse to give Zoey her number.
