Oh, the other day Family Guy made a joke about that tv-movie "starring a cast of people that make you say 'oh', because you didn't know they were still acting". Granted, David Faustino seems to be doing mostly voice work nowadays, but hey, he was Mako in LoK! And apparently Grant Show has been in a bunch of stuff since Melrose (not to mention Swingtown) according to his imdb profile. Apparently he was in a few eps of Burn Notice? Why do I not remember that? But Rachael Leigh Cook and Robin Tunney are female leads on their very own shows! Sure, RLC's show was just canceled and the Mentalist is in its final season. But I thought the Mentalist was kinda popular back in the day. Also, their go to for Robin Tunney is "the bald chick from Empire Records"? Though I guess if they said, that chick from the Craft, they might have though Fairuza Balk or Neve Campbell. She at least ranks over whoever the fourth girl was.

So the music from this week's upcoming ep of Glee is out. Apparently its a bunch of Carole King and Alanis Morissette songs, which seems like a pretty random combination. And I'm kind annoyed they used some of my least favorite Alanis songs. Like "Hand in Pocket". Its just such a weird song! I can't believe Dawson's Creek was originally going to use it as it's theme song, because "I Don't Want to Wait" just seems so iconic to that show. Like if they used the Alanis song, it might have turned me off of the show. Like my whole life could be different because I wouldn't have watched it!

But I digress, here's the tunes:

It's Too Late- Klaine duet of the Carole King classic. Pretty good!

So Far Away- Another Carole King classic, done by Quinn and Tina. Have they ever had a song together? They sound amazing on this.

Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Head Over Feet- sung by Jane and Mason. I'm actually curious about how this song will play out in the show, like why is Mason singing with Jane instead of his sister? Will it end up being a the twins are a little too close, so the club is having them sing with other people? But yeah, I think this is the best of the mashups, because I like the sound of the new newbies in this.

You Learn/You've Got a Friend- An ensemble number. You've Got a Friend is one of my all time favorite songs, so I'm not too keen on them mashing it up with something. Particularly You Learn, since they don't really seem like they go together. I mean, it doesn't sound as discordant as I expected. Its not great, its fine.

Hand in Pocket/I Feel the Earth Move- Britanna duet. Heh, like I said above, my disdain for Hand in Pocket may have prejudiced me a little against this, but it does at least sound kinda fun.

About to check out this Rush show, which, from the commercials seems like an evil version of Hank from Royal Pains. I wasn't really interested in this show until I saw Odette Annable in the commercials. So I'll give the pilot a view.

ME blather- So, the other day finished up the 200 wave challenge for the Quarian Marksman. So now I have completed every challenge under the Aliens and Weapons tab (well, except for the Volus ones). So I can at least say I've used every weapon and (almost) every character enough to do their challenges. Still hoping against hope that I'll be able to max my manifest. Still have the silver and gold map challenges to complete. Alas, I don't think I'll ever be able to get the map mastery banner though, since the damn game won't let me play on firebase dagger, and ghost and condor have also been kinda finnicky to me in the past, randomly dropping me. Which is fine on bronze, when I don't need to use consumables. But they're necessary on silver and gold, and I'm nervous to equip them, and then get dropped in the middle of the match, so not only are my stats not updated, I use the consumables up for nothing.

I'm 40% the way through the London silver challenge. but after that I only have dagger, ghost, and condor left, which like I said before are unsafe to play. Beating London will get me to 26/40, meaning I need to do 14 more maps. Unfortunately, gold on the safe boards is only another 9, leaving me another 5 to somehow get between silver and gold dagger, ghost, and condor. Although I guess I could also try platinum.

Geez, there is officially too much TV on Tuesday- Glee, The Originals, NCIS, Agents of SHIELD (starting next week), Pretty Little Liars, Supernatural, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Cougar Town, Person of Interest, Rizzoli and Isles, Perception, Justified. That's friggin half a days worth of TV! It would be as annoying if several of those shows are in my top shows, can't miss list (Glee, The Originals, PLL, Person of Interest)

My current plan is Glee, dvr recording of PLL, which should end in time that [livejournal.com profile] clevemire can watch Brooklyn Nine-Nine and Cougar Town before he has to go to work, and then finally Person of Interest. I hate that that means delaying the Originals a day. That also still leaves a bunch of TV to catch up on.

So EW has a "where are they now?" article on the actors of the OC, including a where are they now for the characters as well, by Josh Schwarz himself.

Which, what's up with that? Ryan and Taylor don't end up together? He has Ryan starting to go out with Alex (ostensibly to name drop Olivia Wilde), which, isn't she gay? Anyways, you know how big a fan I was of Ryan/Taylor, so I'm disappointed. And if he had to be with someone else, it would be Lindsay, then Kaitlyn, then Summer. Alex wasn't even on the list, again, because isn't she a lesbo? Obviously, Kaitlyn is his step sister now, and Summer is with Seth. But yeah, for a casual watcher or someone reading the article who hasn't seen the OC but was curious, they could mention Alex and be all, "that was Olivia Wilde's character!" But yeah, the whole randomly bumping into Alex on airplane, if it was Lindsay, that would've been a nice bit of kismet. Actually, I wanna say someone on my friends list wrote such a story already.

Meanwhile, Taylor ends up with... Nate Archibald? Random! Though I like the whole moving back to France and being neighbors with Harold and Roman, and meeting Blair through them, and she hooking up her with Nate.

I do find it funny they have Lucy Hale playing Little Miss Vixen in the fictional Atomic County movie, given she was like Kaitlyn's version of Summer at private school.

It is kinda hilarious that they go through the list, and most of them have projects going on/shows they're currently on, and the one doing the least now (Marissa/Mischa Barton) is also the only dead character. I mean Summer is on Hart of Dixie, Luke on Nashville, Julie on Nikita, Kaitlyn on Arrow, Che on Parks and Rec, Kirsten on Perception, Sandy on Covert Affairs. Southland was only recently canceled on Ryan, and even Taylor has pretty regularly guested on things since the OC's cancellation. Not to mention Last Resort was only recently canceled too, and she had No Ordinary Family before that.

Anyways, just watched Bourne Legacy. So, apparently this has overlap with Ultimatum, which as we know, overlapped there at the end with Supremacy, so basically all three of these films take place during the exact same time period. Are they making a sequel, because the plot plays out like the first 2/3 of any of the previous films, then it feels like it abruptly ends. It was okay, though I think the movie did spend a little too much on the boring part of spywork. I know analysis plays a big role, but I don't need like a bunch of scenes were people are all, "Oh, get the passengers manifest for all these airports! We're going to look through names until something interesting pops up!" spoiler cut )

Royal Pains- Okay, ha, that's what a spin class is?! Like whenever I heard people talking about "spin class", I thought it was a friggin crafts thing, like the thing from Ghost or that one amusing Alison Brie gif. I mean, they're liking spinning clay and stuff. I had no idea it was just exercise biking! spoiler cut )

Burn Notice- spoiler cut )

Continuum- You know, I hate the whole "if one could go back in time, they have to kill Hitler" thing. No, that's a terrible idea. Yes, its one of the most horrible atrocities in history, but what makes that so special compared to all the other atrocities in history? Didn't Stalin slaughter more people overall? Why not kill him? Besides, its just arrogant to think changing this one thing will make the world better. WW2 caused a lot of loss of life, but I hate to say it, but with war comes technological advance and political change. Who knows what the world will be like if you killed him. There's just too many unknowns at this point now. Like, if you were like a year or two after WW2, going back to kill Hitler won't change the word too much by your view. But 50-60 years now? Who knows what the eff you're doing to the world? It will surely be so different from the world you know.

So USA's newest show coming in 2013, Graceland, which seems to be about undercover agents or something, the lead is named Mike again? I know its a common name, but that's the third USA show with a Mike lead (the other two being Suits and Burn Notice)

Perception- I feel the need to say this every so often, but dang, RLC is wicked mad cute. Anyways, so we learn the truth about Natalie. Talk about awkward! spoiler cut )

White Collar- Weird! So the gun battle at the end the bad guys were using old ass Ruger automatic rifles, but then they also had the snazzy new 1216 shotgun? Oh, and that wasn't too big a surprise. spoiler cut )

True Blood- Interesting setup this episode. spoiler cut )

Warehouse 13- Heh, its Lassie and Captain Vick. Does this show do one ep a season with a pair of folks from other shows? There was the ep with Simon and Kaylee from Firefly, and the one with Jo and Zane from Eureka. spoiler cut )

Major Crimes- Hey, couple of cuties in this ep, Jenn Proske from Vampires Suck and Haley Webb from the Final Destination! The Jenn girl was blond in this ep, which is slightly disappointing, because she looks way hotter as a brunette.

Perception- Cool, the Stimulus Package girl with the nice rack is back. She should be around more, after all, it doesn't seem like too much time has passed on the show, so he should still be in the same semester and thus still have her as a student.

WO blather- more character commentary:

Orochi/Orochi-X: Obviously, being the bosses of the game, they're quite beastly. Orochi-X is definitely the more powerful one, but he has a smaller moveset than others. He only gets as high as a C4. Not that he needs that much else. And apparently he can't be hit out of attacks, so that means I don't need to use up one of his item slots for Iron Gauntlets.

Zhuge Dan: He's actually pretty good, mainly because of his R1 special. It summons a whirlwind shield around him, which you can stack. So you can put that up and just wade into the thick of it.

Magoichi: Ah, I can see how he ranks so low. The ranged weapon users definitely have disadvantages, particularly with keeping people off them. But he also has sucky weapon attribute activation. I'm not even sure which attack they activate off of! I guess brilliance will help, but it doesn't work on absorption/osmosis. Before I played him, I was going to give him osmosis since he's a wonder character. So I was trying to figure out what I needed to forgo, because it seems he definitely needed typhoon and echo to keep people off him and briliance to put a hurt on them. But since it doesn't seem like osmosis will get activated all that much, I don't see the point.

Huang Gai: Huh, I thought when they decloned the DW7 movesets in WO3, at least one person had the original moveset? Because I know Xu Zhu has some new moves, as he has the bouncing ball thing. But Huang Gai definitely doesn't have the normal club moveset. Is there another club user I'm forgetting about?!

Zhu Rong: She seems a tad safer than Yuanji, since her attacks aren't solely knife throwing. She does have a nice charge that's good for wading into enemies and I guess fighting you war out of trouble.

Ma Dai: Eh, he's not bad, but not particularly good either. His EX-attack is a little long, leaving him vulnerable, but luckily, he's a wonder character, so he can spirit charge out of it.

TV commentary:

Perception- Interesting, so Kate used to have a crush on Daniel back when he was her teacher? Also, isn't he like way too old for her, given they were talking about 1986, and she was 6, and he was studying for the MCATs?! But I guess the CotW, the one victim has the 50 First Dates thing going on?

Pretty Little Liars- I don't know what it was, but Spencer's outfit this ep was so friggin hott. But speaking of outfits, it was hilarious how Ella was asking her daughter for advice on how to dress for her date, and then was all, wait, "Why am I asking you, you wear forks for earrings?" HA! And her date ends up being... Pastor Ted. Geez, first Ashley, now Ella, is he going through all the single moms in Rosewood?

Getting back to Spencer though, I thought she was supposed to be the smart one? So she gets in Jason's car and drives it away so he won't get in trouble. But she leaves her own friggin car there with the door wide open?!

And ugh, Nate being all, "Well, excuse me if I can't date the hottest girl in Rosewood because she's not into dudes!" She's a lesbian, dude, give it up! They better not have Emily have something go on with him.

So, this CeCe girl is possibly someone who Ali was emulating? I totally didn't recognize her as Jenny from Suits. Weird, her imdb bio describes her as "ethnically ambiguous". Isn't she just a blond white girl? It doesn't seem so ambiguous to me!

Mona does crazy real well. Particularly the part with the dolls and her saying those nonsense poems (which was almost as scary creepy as the one scene in the antique store last season, or was it two seasons ago?) Which apparently were code? How convenient that Hanna had that flashback remembering she and Mona had that secret code. One was NOT SAFE, and the other pointed them to Maya's website. But they didn't translate the last one, Miss Aria You're A Killer Not Ezra's Wife. Which is MAYA KNEW. But knew what?

Creepy obtuse commentary: Good video this week at BGB, it touches on everything I've been looking for! I mean, they've come really close previously with the Penny Pax one. That one was missing just one element that this week's Scarlett Wild one had. Heh, I was amused by the user comments though. Like I thought the comments on the Charity Bangs one, which had a similar theme, were a fluke. But its strangely odd how many people have a problem with it taking place outdoors and people keeping their sneakers on during. What in the world? I mean, like I'm not surprised by people being totally racist when its an IR video. And I can understand the complaints about last week's July 4th's weird journey into furry-ville. I mean, I can even see how people can be totally weirded out by the sneakers thing. But what the hell is wrong with it taking place in the woods?! Hey, I hate the outdoors too, but not enough to detract from enjoying the video!

TV commentary:

Royal Pains- Okay, I may have to re-evaluate my statement that Kimberly is the hotter Williams sister, as I liked Ashley's look in this one. Well, before her nose was broken. And weird, the CotW was face-blindness, just like this week's Perception.

Hey, Hank's new love interest Harper is kinda cute. But geez, could it be any more obvious that when Harper said she doesn't date doctors because they can be unreliable socially that Boris was going to page him during their first big date?
