Perception- This ep aggravated me a little. I can't believe it took them that long to figure out the killer was the expert witness. Its like gee, I wonder else who could have a grudge against all those people besides the cop guy?
Burn Notice- So Sonya reveals some of Mike's reputation to the viewers. So apparently he does have a history of effectively completing missions with minimal body count. Which again doesn't seem to gel with the whole "scary monster" idea of him floating around. I mean, she claims people thought he did that to cause more terror, so they'd spread word of his actions. That's kinda BS then, because what the hell can he do to not have this bad-ass reputation then. Somehow, he's more terrible because he DOESN'T kill a lot of people?! It seems like eiter way they're prejudging him, so no matter what he does he's this supposed monster.
And finally Fiona knows that Michael's doing all this to keep them all out of prison. Which is still retarded that he kept it a secret. Is it because he was worried they would be all, "No, we don't want you to do that for us, let's all go to prison!" Because again, he still ends up needing their help anyways, and I think they'll be more motivated if they know their ass is on the line.
Continuum- You know, I hate the whole "if one could go back in time, they have to kill Hitler" thing. No, that's a terrible idea. Yes, its one of the most horrible atrocities in history, but what makes that so special compared to all the other atrocities in history? Didn't Stalin slaughter more people overall? Why not kill him? Besides, its just arrogant to think changing this one thing will make the world better. WW2 caused a lot of loss of life, but I hate to say it, but with war comes technological advance and political change. Who knows what the world will be like if you killed him. There's just too many unknowns at this point now. Like, if you were like a year or two after WW2, going back to kill Hitler won't change the word too much by your view. But 50-60 years now? Who knows what the eff you're doing to the world? It will surely be so different from the world you know.
Heh, that being said, I like how flexible Kiera's understanding of time travel is. First, she thinks she can change history by killing Julian. But then when Carlos talks her out of it, she later worries, what if pointing the gun at him makes him the monster? Its like, if she believes that, then time is circular, and she always came back in time to cause this, and she needn't worry about messing the future up. But that contradicts thinking shooting him will change the future. Its like, pick a theory of time travel and stick with it!
And heh, I realize the flash forward was supposed to be a time later than now, but before Julian is all old and Alex is played by CSM, but that beard totally looked ridiculous on him. But interesting, history is saying he slaughtered millions in this incident, but according to his beliefs, those people were already all dead. The chip destroyed their individuality, the person that used to be them gone, basically now just an organic robot driven by that chip. So by his reasoning, he saved millions from that same fate, and all it cost was destroying people who were already dead. (well, other than the guards, but the show made it look like they were a-holes, so they apparently don't count)
And what the shit, they don't reveal anything about what happened to Krycek? And what the hell is the point of Betty being a mole? Like I think they finally re-addressed that, when Carlos was asking her all those questions, because he was trying to find Julian, and it seemed she was worried he had started to get suspicious of her? Its just confusing. (Also, I keep forgetting he knows everything now, so sometimes I think, "Won't he think this conversation is crazy or not make sense?!" And then I remember, "Oh, he knows the whole future thing")
Also, what was up with that one nerd guy? It seemed like she was team Sonya, but then he was poisoning things between Julian and Sonya. Even being all, "She thinks she's from the future! How can you trust someone that crazy?!" Is he a double agent for team Travis? A different agenda all together?
