Seriously, what the eff is with this campus construction? Driving in is fine, but they've closed off more paths in central campus. Its like an effin maze, and I'm trying to just find a path to the student center so I can get some damn lunch. At least taco bell was open today. But they effed up my order. Like they couldn't conceive that I wanted the beefy melt burrito combo with the two crunchy tacos, and not the beefy box. So first, the cashier tries to charge me for the beefy box, and I point to the other combo. Then, she instead rings up the XXL grilled stuft burrito combo. I again try to explain, no, the beefy melt burrito combo. And she was all, "Oh, sorry, I get you!", and says she'll get the back to give me the right thing instead. And they give me the beefy box. Which, I know you're thinking, why don't you just quit now. But the combo they charged me for is more expensive then the beefy box. So not only would I have gotten the wrong thing, they would've charged me extra for it! So I finally get through to the lady, and they give me an extra crunchy taco to finally shut me up.
TV commentary:
The Closer- Ah, so Brenda's finally facing heat for one of the murders she set up over the course of the series. And she was playing the violins for herself all, "I work so hard and I'm unappreciated!" I think the problem is they can't really turn a blind eye to her knowingly getting a guy killed, regardless of her success rate! Sure, she didn't do it herself, but she know full well what was going to happen in those previous cases.
And the difference between what she did and the joint task force did was (and what she herself did as well later in the ep), she outright intended for the one guy to get murdered, that was her endgame. What the task force did was still suspect, hanging the one guy out to dry in the hopes they would catch their big fish doing something crazy that they could pick him up on. But at least there was the chance of catching the big fish on intent before anyone got killed. Like she and her team managed to do in the end.
I guess what most annoyed me was not owning up to it herself. Not admitting it to Raydor or Delk or Pope or whoever, fine. She doesn't want to lose her job. But does she really believe her hands are effin' clean?! But I digress, what's was up with that ending?
( spoiler cut )True Blood- Aw, Bill and Jessica having the faux father-daughter moment was hilarious. And I know Pam is always stylishly dressed, but what the hell was up with that spiked leather jacket deal?
( spoiler cut )Warehouse 13- Heh, I was amused when Pete goes to the bookstore, and Myka's there looking all bookish with the pulled back hair and the frumpy glasses (hey, she still looked hot). But then when she goes to meet them later, she changed her hair and makeup. Its like, what does she need to get all gussied up for. Of course, its good when they do stuff to hide her weird upper lip.
And the new guy, I can never remember which of the Ashmores is Iceman, and which is fake Jimmy Olson? Or are those both the same one?
Alphas- Checked out the first ep. Apparently to have super powers, you also have to have some mental illness/personality problem? Well, I guess strong guy doesn't have any of that, though since his powers are adrenaline based, he can't use them to often or he'll blow out his heart.
In any case, it seems like the show is trying to keep it "street level". Like sure they can do some crazy stuff, but it almost seems like its like the people on Stan Lee's superhumans, only slightly better. Autistic English Bones guy seems to be the only one with a power that's "out there".
