The 10 Most Common Music Cues in Nerd Dom- This is actually a pretty accurate list. I'm kinda curious if the numbers are a rank. I mean, I guess that tick of mine to constantly make noise, "Power House" is definitely the second most song I subconsciously hum, the first being "Spanish Flea" of course.

TV commentary:

Dexter- Hmm, that was unexpected. spoiler cut )

What the crap, its like after I made that one list, I keep coming across new pr0n chyx who I feel are prettier than some of the other choices on the list, but have also done some really good work. (is it creepy to refer to it as "really good work"?) Like last time I had mentioned Jennifer White, and relative newcomers Allie James (aka Mallory Fox) and Penny Pax, but now there's Holly Michaels. She's got a youthful look, but like college co-ed young, not looks 12 young. A little tall for my tastes, but she's bouncy and well-groomed. (those are euphemisms!) And looks totes cute in the Katy Perry-ish hipster glasses.

But what really sealed it for me, I'll put under a cut. cut for your benefit )

TV commentary:

Eureka- Series finale. Solid ending with reappearances by various characters, a few in-jokes, like the whole "I thought we had 6 more weeks?" Owel. I'm glad they managed to wrap things up satisfyingly given the constraints.

Degrassi- Season premiere. Heh, I'm curious what Chloe Rose's heritage is, because her eyes are, different. I mean, the new intro (I guess she's going to go all goth this year?) since she's sporting the black hair, at first I was all, "Wait, who's that Asian girl?" Anyways, wow, Drew is just an idiot. Granted, I can see how hard it can be to break up with Katie since she looked like a kicked puppy for most of this ep, but Bianca's way hotter (like how hot does she look in the intro?) and he shouldn't mess that up. That, and the new Bianca doesn't deserve such treatment.

Getting back to the intro, what's with them having Fiona and Drew hanging together? Have their story lines intersected at all? Oh wait, I guess there was the whole thing when she was interested in Adam, but I digress. I hope that isn't indicative of them getting together. Because what about Bianca and Imogen?

I'm not feeling the new hockey folks, but the new Christian girl is cute and amusing.

Lost Girl- Hmm, so Lachlan isn't a bad guy? And I wonder if that vision Bo had, if it was actually that shifter who attacks Trick, and not herself? Because they never showed them again this ep after Bo worker her mojo on it to get that ring Trick wanted. So the shifter would prolly be looking for revenge.

The Closer- A Provenza/Flynn mess up ep, so this one was more light hearted than the season premiere. And hey, its Sunny Maybrey. I disagree with [livejournal.com profile] clevemire, as I think she looks better as a blond, just like Jennifer Morrison and Emile De Ravin. iafgv('Its a fact!')
geebs: (Default)
So, on vaycay this week, down in HH as per usual. Man, it is way too friggin hot though. I can't walk two feet outside without my shirt getting soaked in sweat.

TV commentary:

True Blood- Its annoying that they just assume the lady in that one contractor's memories is Nora, when it is obviously Salome. I mean, they don't even have to think its Salome, its just erroneous to assume its Nora, as if she's the only woman working for the authority? Also, what was that at the end? Are they saying Alcide is a secret traitor?

And so, Terry and Gnoll are being hunted by an Ifrit? I should've suspected as much, given the curse would've been from the middle east, so whatever was after them would have such a flavor, so either that are some kinda djinn.

And weird, so Sam's shifter friends were killed by supe-lynchers? It seemed odd that they made that jump all, "what if there have been people hunting down supernatural creatures all this time, and we were unaware because we were preoccupied with other stuff?" I mean, just because the bullets were specifically made to kill shifters/weres/vampires? The vampire authority would be armed thusly. Also, I thought weres/shifters were still a secret? But everyone is talking about them out loud as if they know they're a thing?

The Closer- Wait, we the audience are suppose to know Brenda is out of control right? She hasn't been in the right for this final ongoing arc, right? Also, I forgot they haven't discovered who the leak is yet, that is curious. Particularly since it doesn't seem like they've dropped many hints as to who it could be. Taylor seems too obvious. I don't think its Provenza either, he's one of the most loyal to her. It might be Gabriel, because he's loyal, but it seems like he's been thinking Brenda has been going too far lately, though I can't remember if he was proven to not be the mole in a previous episode.

Perception- RLC is still cute, and the premise is intriguing. spoiler cut )

Lost Girl- Geez, Iceman or Not-Iceman sure does get around! So apparently he's playing some boy Kensi crushed on when she was like 6? And how deliciously cruel, both of Bo's love interests came with dates, and Kensi has a sorta bf now too!

Pretty Little Liars- I can't believe Emily wasn't more suspicious when Paige was acting all effed up. Or if the night Ali's body disappeared was enough to swear off drinking, she'd empty that flask, worried she was drugged? And I'm skeptical Lucas is the bad guy. Things are pointing him to too much. Also, I was totally freaking Garrett's mom would start coding while Spencer was snooping around the room. And who the eff is April Rose?

Covert Affair- spoiler cut )
geebs: (Default)
Seriously, what the eff is with this campus construction? Driving in is fine, but they've closed off more paths in central campus. Its like an effin maze, and I'm trying to just find a path to the student center so I can get some damn lunch. At least taco bell was open today. But they effed up my order. Like they couldn't conceive that I wanted the beefy melt burrito combo with the two crunchy tacos, and not the beefy box. So first, the cashier tries to charge me for the beefy box, and I point to the other combo. Then, she instead rings up the XXL grilled stuft burrito combo. I again try to explain, no, the beefy melt burrito combo. And she was all, "Oh, sorry, I get you!", and says she'll get the back to give me the right thing instead. And they give me the beefy box. Which, I know you're thinking, why don't you just quit now. But the combo they charged me for is more expensive then the beefy box. So not only would I have gotten the wrong thing, they would've charged me extra for it! So I finally get through to the lady, and they give me an extra crunchy taco to finally shut me up.

TV commentary:

The Closer- Ah, so Brenda's finally facing heat for one of the murders she set up over the course of the series. And she was playing the violins for herself all, "I work so hard and I'm unappreciated!" I think the problem is they can't really turn a blind eye to her knowingly getting a guy killed, regardless of her success rate! Sure, she didn't do it herself, but she know full well what was going to happen in those previous cases.

And the difference between what she did and the joint task force did was (and what she herself did as well later in the ep), she outright intended for the one guy to get murdered, that was her endgame. What the task force did was still suspect, hanging the one guy out to dry in the hopes they would catch their big fish doing something crazy that they could pick him up on. But at least there was the chance of catching the big fish on intent before anyone got killed. Like she and her team managed to do in the end.

I guess what most annoyed me was not owning up to it herself. Not admitting it to Raydor or Delk or Pope or whoever, fine. She doesn't want to lose her job. But does she really believe her hands are effin' clean?! But I digress, what's was up with that ending? spoiler cut )

True Blood- Aw, Bill and Jessica having the faux father-daughter moment was hilarious. And I know Pam is always stylishly dressed, but what the hell was up with that spiked leather jacket deal?

spoiler cut )

Warehouse 13- Heh, I was amused when Pete goes to the bookstore, and Myka's there looking all bookish with the pulled back hair and the frumpy glasses (hey, she still looked hot). But then when she goes to meet them later, she changed her hair and makeup. Its like, what does she need to get all gussied up for. Of course, its good when they do stuff to hide her weird upper lip.

And the new guy, I can never remember which of the Ashmores is Iceman, and which is fake Jimmy Olson? Or are those both the same one?

Alphas- Checked out the first ep. Apparently to have super powers, you also have to have some mental illness/personality problem? Well, I guess strong guy doesn't have any of that, though since his powers are adrenaline based, he can't use them to often or he'll blow out his heart.

In any case, it seems like the show is trying to keep it "street level". Like sure they can do some crazy stuff, but it almost seems like its like the people on Stan Lee's superhumans, only slightly better. Autistic English Bones guy seems to be the only one with a power that's "out there".

TV commentary:

Pretty Little Liars- So the rest of the girls finally know about Aria's little affair with Fitz. What I find weird about all this is Spencer talking about it with Aria as if she hasn't been in that same situation. Twice! I mean, she's 16 now, and the thing with Ian was last year, meaning she was 15 at the time. And he's definitely not a teen, and while the age diff between Spencer and her sister has never been made clear, she and Ian seem post college age. And Wren seemed to be the same age as well.

I figure that even if Fitz wasn't a teacher, their relationship would be considered wrong, given he's in his 20s and she's jailbait. Which is the same case for Spencer and Wren and Ian. But the show seems to act like those are totally different situations!

The Closer- Wait, since when does LA have mounted police officers?!

TV Commentary:

The Closer- Interesting resolution to the whole new chief thing. spoiler cut )

OTH- Wow, this show is macabre. And I'm amused how the ep description ruined one of the "twists" of the ep. But before I get into that, wait, isn't Jamie like 7 or something? I found the whole thing about taking away his cell phone privileges weird, because who the frak is a 7 year old gonna call?!spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

Secret Life- Seriously, who writes this show?! spoiler cut )

The Closer- Looks like the chief thing is out of the bag, thanks to Adrian's mom (how amusing, given I was just talking about SLoTAT. Also, her obvious ass kissing was totally hilarious. Was Brenda totally unaware of that?) I suppose some of the characters would have kids, have they mentioned Tao and Provenza having kids before? I mean Tao and his wife are certainly old enough to have some, and Provenza has been married enough times that surely he'd have offspring with one of them. spoiler cut )
geebs: (Default)
TV commentary:

Degrassi- So today was the first ep with Lizzie from LWD playing transgender Adam. Although I guess that's kinda a spoiler, since they don't actually mention that she's a transgender in that ep, and you're to believe that "Adam" is actually a dude, even though "he" just looks like a girl pretending to be a guy. Which I suppose she is. But I guess for people who don't read spoilers, they prolly thought it was a tomboy at first, and then were extremely confused when they referred to her as Adam. In any case, did this ep take place in bizarro world? spoiler cut )

Secret Life- Wow, an ep where Amy wasn't a total frakkin krant, does this also take place in bizarro world?! spoiler cut )

So, Pajiba just came out with their annual 10 most bangable celebs on the planet: (Thankfully, they didn't add the tag "these are the celebrities you should want to bang", b/c that would've just pissed me off, and I would've been all, "Who are they to say who I should bang!" on here)

10) Zooey Deschanel

9) James McAvoy

8) Joel Mchale

7) David Tennant- Though didn't he just leave the Doctor Who franchise? Like what is he doing in 2010?

6) Rachel Weisz

5) Alison Brie- How hilarious that both halves of my favorite ship this past TV season are on this list? (Yes, Jannie even beats out Puckelberry, if only for their squee-worthy moment at the end of the season finale of Community! I know, I am such a fag)

4) Alexander Skarsgard- Heh, I'm amused Sporcle's name the TV show from the coupling quiz the other day pairs Sookie with him rather than Bill. But the previous season had her in a triangle with Bill and Eric, and now she has Alcide too? Like, what's with these chyx being romanced by both Vampires and Werewolves (like since Tyler's obviously a werewolf on Vampire Diaries, I'm sure he'll be in some triangle with a girl and a vampire). In any case, I can think of an easy solution to these girls' problems with having to choose between a couple of guys, if you know what I mean, and I think you do. ("heh.")

3) Joseph Gordon Levitt- I was amused by this TWoP article about the Inception cast's craziest dreams (I assume these are made up and not dreams the actual cast members had), with him dreaming doing 30 Rock (I always frickin accidentally say 30 Rock when I mean 3rd Rock From the Son) for the past 15 years, and the only movie he did was G.I.Joe would indeed be a nightmare. And a loss for us all, since Brick is still one of my all time favorite movies, and you know how much I love this scene from 500 Days of Summer.

2) Christina Hendricks- Heh, as the guy who did the write up for her in this article said, to many she's Joan from Mad Men, but like the author, she'll always be Saffron to me.

1) Timothy Olyphant

Hey, I just noticed there are more guys on this list than girls!

TV Commentary:

The Closer- Hey, nice to see Natasha Gregson Wagner is still getting work. I've always had a thing for her. And props to the show for having the murder weapon be a M110 SASS. Though while I'm pretty sure you can buy the weapon, I'm not sure if the civilian version has the suppressor. Though I guess some states (like GA), you're allowed to own suppressors with the right license, so maybe you can get it with the suppressor.

Of course, in real life, the suppressor wouldn't have silenced the shot to the point where no one would've realized someone was sniped until they found the body the next morning. Such devices quiet the shot only to the point where if you were the one not shot, it would be really difficult to tell which direction the bullet came from.

Sporcle quiz: Guess the TV title from the theme song- only 15 out of 20. I never watched the "Baby, if you ever wondered, wondered whatever became of me…" show or "[show title] Any time you make a payment, [show title] any time you need a friend..." show (actually, the latter I knew the theme, I didn't actually know there were other lyrics to it) The last three I can't believe I didn't get. "You woke up this morning. Got yourself a gun..."? I had the line repeating in my head, just like the song, but it was just on the edges of my mind. Same with "Whatever it takes, I know I can make it through." Well, at least with that one the tune actually did come to mind, I just couldn't recall the show. The last one, "A long time ago we used to be friends but I haven't thought of you lately..." I think I would've totally gotten it if they just put the "A long time ago we used to be friends part", the rest of the line through me off.

The Closer- spoiler cut )

Make It or Break It- Okay, I heard Candace Cameron-Bure (Or is it DJ? Has she had any other big role besides that?!) was on this show, and this was the first time I actually noticed her name in the credits, but the first two eps I did not realize she was the secretary/gf of the rich bitch's father. Funny, it wasn't until the rich bitch made a crack about CC-B's character's faith being important to her that I thought, "Wait, was she the secretary?" And then when she showed up, it was! What the hell, DJ looks totally different now! spoiler cut )

While I had mentioned the saboteur in Killzone 2 was pretty cool, I think my favorite would actually be the scout class. I mean, looking like a friendly is a neat trick, but I like the whole full near-invisibility better. Plus, they just look cool, though I'm not sure which design I like better, the ISA scout, or the Helghast one. (though the former has a frickin' blue led on the side of their head, and the latter has the glowing red "eyes", that's not exactly stealthy) Alas, gametrailers hasn't released a trailer for the scout-class yet. But with the badges, looks like you can mix the scout's invisibility with the saboteur's proximity mines, which would make for some good ambushes.

I've said this before, but I just love the helghast soldier outfits. Yeah, its a little Nazi-ish, but the full armor with the "Fritz" style helmet and the gas masks and the glowing red eyes? How is that not totally sweet looking?
Of course, the similarities to Kerberos Panzer Cop/Jin-Roh are uncanny, I'm surprised there hasn't been a lawsuit or something.

Burn Notice )
geebs: (Default)
So I heard that the aunts heard from a seer that the Eight Days of Darkness is coming this week. (I thought it was only three when I younger) I thought it was supposed to take place after the Rapture? But anyways, you know, the righteous (wait, I thought those would all disappear during the Rapture, or was that just children? But whoever would be taken away would be so to spare them the coming horrors? Mebbe its people who are really good and the innocent, and this warning is going out to those who aren't good enough, but aren't exactly evil either) need to hole up in their houses and board up their windows and not let anyone in. Because darkness will envelop the world, and demons will walk the Earth and try to take the guise of people you know to be let into your house so they can kill you.

In any case, if it is the apocalypse this week, I'll be pretty pissed. I mean, I could complain about never having a threesome with a cute Asian chick with an English or Aussie accent and a blond-haired/green-eyed snowflake cutie, but what I would really be mad about is not seeing how BSG or Lost will turn out! And I think I would've like to have seen all the Harry Potter books made into movies.

Degrassi: Ah, so Leia is a former ballerina? I still don't buy Danny and Derek as star football jocks. I do find Riley's storyline interesting. In most of these shows, when you have a male character realizing he's gay, his closest confidant ends up being some chick who becomes his fag hag. I mean, he'll have male friends, but it'll be this whole thing where they're freaked out at first, but eventually come to terms with it. So the whole thing with Peter being his confidant is refreshing. spoilers )

Relink! [livejournal.com profile] clevemire posted this in the comments section of my last post. But those of you who didn't read those comments (as it would reveal the answer), looking at the pic in that link, 1) would you think they were in costume had you not known they were cosplaying and 2) what characters do you think they are supposed to be? I don't think its ojv('Man, its obvious!') as he claims.

Ah, and the roomie figured out what that whole white powder thing was the other day. It has something to do with the Hash House Harriers? The about page calls it a mixture of "hedonism and hard work". And I suppose all hedonism really means is seeking pleasure as your main goal in life, but I'm guessing they have a totally different definition of hedonism than I do.

Getting out of the cut, which me is more insufferable, the lame, corny one into crap like that scene and shipping in general (tho I don't really ship that particular couple) who likes dramadies, romantic comedies, and shoujo, as well as musicals, the geeky one who geeks out about guns (or weapons in general, mainly anything that can fire a projectile or carries an edge) and cars and video games and rpgs and military stuff, or the slightly pervo freak into somewhat questionable things?

Oh, and getting back to music on Scrubs. I was thinking about songs in my play queue, and how many came to my attention because I heard them on some show I watch. And I think the main shows I've done that with are Scrubs, House, the OC, and Gossip Girl. And I guess Swingtown did remind me of a lot of great classics.

Wait, C&C Red Alert 3 and its expansion features the largest Hollywood cast ever to appear in a video game?! I guess there are a lot of famous (or at least geebs "famous") names in the imdb credits. Heh, I did not know the Hoff was in this. Oh, but I just heard the expansion includes, Malcolm Mcdowell, that Samurai Girl chick, and Ric Flair?! Ha, that's awesome!
