TV commentary:

Secret Life- Seriously, who writes this show?! Apparently, the American teenager is a horny creature that can't be trusted not to frak the first person they can if the opportunity arises. Or at least that's what everyone thinks. I mean, last week Ben worrying about Ricky going over to Adrians because he thinks they'll just immediately have sex right there? Then this week everyone thinking if Ricky goes to see Amy in NY, they'll immediately hop into bed together. Or Madison not liking Jack's situation because he lives in Grace's guest house so she thinks with easy access they'll be frakking around. Granted, Ricky and Adrian screwed around a lot in the past. And Ricky did knock Amy up, and its obvious this ep that he's developed feelings for her all of a sudden. And Grace and Jack used to be an item. But some people do have self control! I know they're teens, but just because they're teens doesn't mean that means left to their own devices, they're so horny that they never think of the consequences and will just hump to their heart's content. Or at least not all of them are like that. But apparently kids in the SLoTAT universe might be that stupid.

EDIT- re-reading the forums, I realize now it wasn't Madison who was truly awful about the Jack/Grace thing, but Grant. I guess it was just so ridiculous and stupid that I totally blocked it out, but still had lingering feelings of incredulity about it that I attributed it to Madison since she is kinda jealous of the situation. But now that I'm reminded, seriously, what the eff? How did Grace not beat the crap out of him for basically inferring she was a slut, since Jack is living right next door and they had done it once, they prolly frak all the time?

Oh, does it make me a perv because I thought of a whole list of things Madison could mean when she was thinking of doing something with Jack that he had never done with Grace?

Whatever, in any case, I was actually amused by Ben actually considering marrying Adrian in the end after seeing the sonogram of their child. Now, Henry thinks its a bluff, that he wants Amy to hear about it and force her to try and stop him. But its the way he's all "if she doesn't, owel!" attitude about it. Its like he's resigned to the fact that if he can't be with Amy, the supposed love of his life, he might as well be with Adrian then, whom he could see becoming a family with. Hey, with Ricky and Amy making out in NY (it infuriates me that the show has characters thinking ridiculous things like, "If Ricky goes to NY to see Amy" something will happen between them, and it actually does, even if it makes no sense to!), maybe they should get together, that'll show 'em! Which is amusing, since Adrian got knocked up because they were trying to "show" Ricky and Amy then as well. Seriously, they're kids, and those are the first real and only loves they've known. Its like live life a little before you declare you want to be with no other!

The Closer- Looks like the chief thing is out of the bag, thanks to Adrian's mom (how amusing, given I was just talking about SLoTAT. Also, her obvious ass kissing was totally hilarious. Was Brenda totally unaware of that?) I suppose some of the characters would have kids, have they mentioned Tao and Provenza having kids before? I mean Tao and his wife are certainly old enough to have some, and Provenza has been married enough times that surely he'd have offspring with one of them. So they finally end up finding that kid's mom, and Sanchez is all sad, and you think he's resigned to finally giving the kid up (heh, would they both be so thankful if they knew Sanchez wasn't actually trying to reunite them?), but then he's all, "hey, are you single?" to the mom and asks her out. Its like geez, can't he get a kid the old fashioned way? He doesn't need to be finding kids he feels fatherly towards, and then start dating their mothers, because I'm sure that won't lead to totally awkward situations in the futute.

In any case, it was a bit of a moral dilemma there with the CotW, because isn't letting that girl get the heart sort of legitimizing what the guy did? I mean, granted the guy was already dead and the heart was already out, so why not transplant it into the girl. I'm not sure what I'd do if I was faced with that situation, but for their squad, it should be no contest, give the kid the heart! I mean, they once literally sold a federal witness out to basically get executed as soon as he left the building (granted, he was killing hookers and using his witness deal to have a get out of jail free card) to get someone else to be a witness so they didn't need the first witness anymore. So I think once you cross that moral quandary, you might as well let some dying kid get an illegal organ. They didn't kill the guy, and its already there and available. Plus, Brenda and her squad have done some pretty shitty things to close cases. I mean, unlike these other shows, where crooked cops are doing the whole "ends justify the means" things, everything they do is perfectly legal. But a lot of times their tactic is emotional blackmail- confess and we won't let your autistic kid/dying relative/pregnant wife get totally screwed over by you being up for this crime. Which while effectively closing the case and at least making sure those people are properly taken care of now that their caregiver/money earner is in jail is still pretty mean. But the key thing is making sure the innocent people don't get screwed over. So, I don't think they would screw over a dying girl!
