The Closer- Interesting resolution to the whole new chief thing. Although it was kinda clunky to bring Courtney B Vance as the head of the counter-terrorism division whom we've never met yet who was also up for chief. Its like gee, I wonder if Courtney B Vance is gonna be there for a one ep guess spot, or will he be new chief!

But I liked the mix emotions with Brenda there at the end. I mean, while it seemed she didn't really want the job anymore, I'm sure it still sucks to have lost. But honestly, it seems like the only reason she decided to go for it was because she thought Pope might get it, and she'd feel obligated to become his assistant chief when he offered it, which he said he was going to. But then she didn't like the options for her replacements (Taylor, any of the squad other than Gabriel), so it seemed like her main reason for going was so if she was gonna be pulled away from Major Crimes, she'd be in a position to hand pick her successor, regardless of rank. (Though I'm sure her picking Gabriel would go over well with the rest of the squad!)

I'm kinda curious if she really shot the guy because in the heat of the moment, "she had to be sure" the job got done, or if she knew the shoot would kick her out of the running.

But ha, Taylor was hilarious. I mean, I think it says a lot about their working relationship that he would actually say it was unfair that she didn't get it. But at the same time, he's still the political guy, going immediately to kiss Courtney B Vance's ass right after he says that to Brenda.

And is it shallow for me to be shocked and appalled that that Goolia guy killed those paramedics because the chick one was kinda cute?

OTH- Wow, this show is macabre. And I'm amused how the ep description ruined one of the "twists" of the ep. But before I get into that, wait, isn't Jamie like 7 or something? I found the whole thing about taking away his cell phone privileges weird, because who the frak is a 7 year old gonna call?!Anyways, back to the "twist", so they act like the whole Katie shooting Clay and Quinn thing was just a weird dream of his, and throughout the ep, everything seems all normal, they're spending the whole day together all romantic. But the ep description says they're hanging on for dear life. Which given how off things are in there scenes, and the fact they haven't interacted with anyone, its obvious, they've been lying their dying all day. Which what the hell, so its prolly been almost 24 hours with them laying their dying, and they're gonna survive? I mean, I assume they are given they're both still in the credits. And they've already had several characters tragically die from gunshot wounds already, so "its been done".

And when Brooke and Julian find out that Hayley's preggers, and they're discussing it given the whole recent news that Brooke is barren, they joke "we could kidnap it." Which is fine for normal people, but given the whole thing with Crazy Carrie kidnapping Jamie, its kinda in poort taste.
