Heh, I was reading an article that mentioned Woody Allen has cast Slumdog Millionare's Freida Pinto rather than his seemingly current obsession, Scarlett Johansson. And they were all, is he moving onto a younger chick now? But Freida is a month older than Scarlett!

Privileged- Who goes on wilderness expeditions?! Like out there with the bugs and dirt and allergens and psycho-killer-rapist-cannibals?! I dunno, if you're gonna spend money on some course, why not have it be something cool, like skydiving, or stunt driving, or CQB shooting? I mean, I'd much rather learn to drift a car or cut down on the time it takes to draw a .45 and do a quick two and one than sleep on dirt and walk around a forest feeling all dirty. But that's just me. spoiler cut )

Leverage ) Getting out of the cut, I know Mark Sheppard has been a bunch of stuff, and he's had done a lot of guest stints on shows I watch lately (Leverage, Burn Notice, Dollhouse), and Whedonites are likely to refer to him as Badger, but his BSG character name of "Romo Lampkin" is too cool to not refer to him as that. It also makes me thing of LA Confidential and Rollo Tomasi.

Relink! [livejournal.com profile] clevemire posted this in the comments section of my last post. But those of you who didn't read those comments (as it would reveal the answer), looking at the pic in that link, 1) would you think they were in costume had you not known they were cosplaying and 2) what characters do you think they are supposed to be? I don't think its ojv('Man, its obvious!') as he claims.

Ah, and the roomie figured out what that whole white powder thing was the other day. It has something to do with the Hash House Harriers? The about page calls it a mixture of "hedonism and hard work". And I suppose all hedonism really means is seeking pleasure as your main goal in life, but I'm guessing they have a totally different definition of hedonism than I do.

90210- What's with all these shows playing the Plain White T's "1, 2, 3, 4" just because its the week before Valentine's Day? Okay, mebbe just this show, and the promos for ABC Fam's various primetime dramas. spoiler cut )

Privileged- Ah, so according to the promos for the next ep, its the season finale? I guess they do have to make room for Reaper when it returns. Speaking of, I guess Scrubs is moving to Wednesdays come March? That's good. There's nothing on Wednesday's but Lost, so I'm glad something is moving off the Monday/Tuesdays of TV watching insanity. spoiler cut )

90210- I've said this before and I'll say it again- keep Naomi in straight hair! And what's with her alternating between straight and curly between scenes? I mean, who curls/uncurls their hair multiple times in the same day?! But yeah, AnnaLynn McCord is infinitely hotter with straight hair. Oh, and I guess last night's ep is the one where all those on the set bikini pics circulating around the entertainment gossip sites came from. Dayam, she can rock a bikini. spoiler cut )

Heh, on the way to work, passing by the abortion protestors over at Governor's Ridge (I guess there must be a clinic in that complex, which is the same place I took my CCNA exam) one of them had an amusing sign that read "Be like Juno!"

What's with all the TV last night? NCIS, 90210, Privileged, 2 eps of Scrubs (now on ABC!), SVU, and Nip/Tuck. Thank goodness there weren't any new eps of House or Fringe. I only caught the CW stuff plus Scrubs and Nip/Tuck.

Oh, on the way to Junior's for breakfast, The Real Mccoy's "Sleeping With an Angel" came on the mp3 player, which I've said before will always be burned in my mind as the song that mad cute brunette chick danced to at the first strip club I ever went to. One thing I've never mentioned though is that she would leave her vest on (albiet opened). Which is kinda weird, because its not like its a costume, and the other chyx there took off everything. Mebbe she had like hideous scars on her back or something that she wanted to hide. I guess only D would possibly know.

Today was a holy day of obligation, the feast of the Immaculate Conception, but luckily church is just across the street from work. Since I haven't been on weekend shift for a while, haven't been to the GT Catholic Center since Father Mario retired. So this is the first time seeing the guy who took over. Apparently, he has a brother who works at GTRI who is a deacon. Though it is odd that the pastor spoke normal, but his brother was extremely southern accented. I mean, when he was reading, he sounded like the stereotypical Southern lawyer all, "I don't know how they do things in the big city..." It was surprisingly crowded, and there were more than a few cuties. Like I was sitting next to this mad cute blond who kinda looked like Aimee Teegarden from FNL with an incredible singing voice (well, she did sing the hymns real well) who I couldn't stop noticing because she kept running her fingers through her silky hair. (yeah, that wasn't a creepy sounding sentence I just wrote) But alas, she had a douchebag looking boyfriend, who must've noticed me checking her out, because he got all protective of her when we went up for communion.

Owel, back in the ATL. As usual, got to the airport too early on Sunday. Well, not as early as I usually am, but there was surprisingly little traffic getting there and I breezed through security. But at least I was only in the terminal 45 minutes before boarding than my usual hour or more. Well, 45 minutes from when it should've boarded. Because of the weather, the flight was delayed an hour. But took the Marta to 10th street so I wouldn't subject peeps to airport traffic, and the roomie picked me up and we and the usual suspects had dinner at the vortex. I didn't realize the double bypass (its like the coronary bypass, but double) had grilled cheese samiches for buns. I'd like to try it one day, but two eggs is a little too much for a burger.

I was supposed to be back at work today, but apparently my battery discharged over the break. But the AAA guy mentioned its prolly because the positive terminal was kinda loose, so the battery hasn't been charging properly. And the cold weather exacerbated the issue. So with the battery being low and the loose terminal, the car wouldn't start. But then the AAA guy clamped jumper cables on to the terminals, and without even hooking them up, the clamps seemed to press down on the terminal enough to get the car started.

But I got the cables replaced (the terminal was tightened as far as it could go, but it was still visibly not as snug as it should've been). But ha, I was getting a quote, and the guy said three-ninety-nine each. Now, car parts do seem ridiculously expensive to me, so of course, I thought he meant $399. And I was thinking to myself $800 for the parts, plus labor, that's more than the car is friggin worth!! But then he showed me the cost, and he meant $3.99. Hey, in my defense, some car parts do cost a ridiculous amount! But I got the cables replaced, and the car should hopefully be fine for tomorrow.

Oh, saw Lost Boys 2 on TNT after I got back from dinner. Ugh, what a dud. Autumn Reeser was the only good part of that movie. And not just because she's hot. Everyone else in that movie was atrocious! Like Corey Feldman was just terrible! As was the head vamp and the brother!

Privileged: Weird, I totally didn't recognize Sarah Drew as Megan's friend at first without the glasses and having straight hair. I had gotten some new sneakers over the weekend because my old ones were falling apart. But they're so friggin' white! Oh, and as I was walking through the mall, this lady at one of the kiosks was tryng to give me the hard sell on some soaps and cremes and wot-not. In Fight Club, when the narrator said Tyler was selling the soap to those department stores for a steep price, and "who knows what they charged their customers", I thought that was an exaggeration. But the lady was trying to sell me an effin $60 bar of soap!! I mean, do these fancy soap companies think a bar of soap is worth $60?! And who are these people who buy $60 soap?! How excessive!

Heh, the other day, was watching a show with Big D, and I asked him about the .38 Super round, which lead to a discussion of other esoteric and powerful rounds, like the .400 Cor-Bon and .45 Super. Today, he offered to let me try those rounds out some weekend. I'm tempted. I've tried 9mm, .40 S&W, .357 sig, and .45 acp, it might be cool to try .45 Super and .400 Cor-Bon, which are way more powerful. I think he was wanting me to try 10mm also. I should try those at least once, right?

TV Commentary:

90210: Heh, Jessica Walter was totally playing Tabitha as she would Lucille Bluth tonight. Ah, so they brought Jessica Lucas on for a guest arc? I always thought she was cute on Edgemont. Surprisingly, I still not have seen an ep of LAWKI, even though it seems like a show I'd totally watch. Privileged: You know, I did not realize Lily was mysterious girl from Sarah Connor Chronicles! Privileged- as I said before, even though they're trying to tout Megan as the new Rory Gilmore, its eerie how much her mannerisms are actually more Lorelai Gilmore. Seriously, its like she's trying to channel a mid-20s version of Lorelai, particularly the way she talks. And are Rose and Sage supposed to be fraternal twins, or is Sage older? I guess its just the difference in sizes- Rose is kinda petite while Sage is way taller, so its hard to not think Sage is like a year older. spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

- Fringe: I saw the pilot months ago, and with other stuff I watch on, didn't catch it tonight, so I have no idear if there were any changes made. But from what I'd seen, its an interesting enough show, kinda Lost meets X-files.

- Privileged: This show didn't pique my interest initially, but having seen the first ep, I'm willing to give it a chance. Saw commercials where TV Guide says the main character Megan is the "next Rory Gilmore". While the character was amusing, she wasn't self-involved or "pretend she's not a stuck up princess when she totally is" enough to be Rory-ish. Megan (played by Joanna Garcia of Reba) isn't the only CW vet, it also has Michael Cassidy (who after being Zack on the OC was on CW's Hidden Palms and a recurring character on Smallville).

It also stars Lucy Hale as one of the sisters Joanna Garcia's character is tutoring. I guess she needs work now that Bionic Woman is dunzo (where she was the Bionic Woman's little sis, having replaced Egg when they redid the pilot. You may also remember her as Robin's little sister on HIMYM, or Mini-Coop's Summer-ish boarding school roomie on the OC, or the Gothy-girl the one guy liked on the Wizards of Waverly Place) She's hot, particularly in the gym wear. Its too bad you hardly got to see her in the little bikini she had on at the photoshoot.

- 90210: I guess the new Bond movie comes out in a few months, but I still found it weird the Navid kid was able to screen it. There is a new Quantum of Solace trailer out, the movie should be bad-ass. Is it sacrilege to prefer the Pierce Brosnan/Daniel Craig Bond movies to the classic ones? Seriously, the action and effects are way cooler in the newer movies. I mean, to me Bond was pretty lame until Goldeneye.

But I digress. Silver is pretty hot, there's just something about Jessica Stroup's eyes. But is she like anorexic or something? She's looking bone thin right now! spoilerish comments, under the cut )
