LA is the capital of Hollywood!
Oct. 8th, 2008 01:26 amHeh, the other day, was watching a show with Big D, and I asked him about the .38 Super round, which lead to a discussion of other esoteric and powerful rounds, like the .400 Cor-Bon and .45 Super. Today, he offered to let me try those rounds out some weekend. I'm tempted. I've tried 9mm, .40 S&W, .357 sig, and .45 acp, it might be cool to try .45 Super and .400 Cor-Bon, which are way more powerful. I think he was wanting me to try 10mm also. I should try those at least once, right?
TV Commentary:
90210: Heh, Jessica Walter was totally playing Tabitha as she would Lucille Bluth tonight. Ah, so they brought Jessica Lucas on for a guest arc? I always thought she was cute on Edgemont. Surprisingly, I still not have seen an ep of LAWKI, even though it seems like a show I'd totally watch. I mean,
clevemire has watched it and I haven't. cliffv('What's up with that?!') Aren't teen dramas my bag? But getting back to Jessica Lucas, I totally figured she was a narc once she asked the guy where she can score "party favors". (I thought this was 90210, not 21 Jump Street?) And that way, teacher guy flirting with is totally fine because she's really of age. Owel, while it does suck for Naomi that Adrianna didn't fess up (though with the pressure her mom put on her, all, "we were almost homeless!", why would she?) she might not have gotten busted if she wasn't so obvious. Its like, "Hmm, I'll run to the bathroom all suspicious so the cops will run in after me!" She could've easily made it to the bathroom unnoticed and flushed it all if she'd played it cooler.
But boy is she gonna feel bad when she finds out Adrianna is possibly dead. Hopefully she isn't dead-dead, and the paramedics managed to revive her, because Adrianna is one of the more interesting characters, and I find her strangely attractive even when coked up. And heh, there is one good thing Adrianna's mom did, telling Naomi her hair looks better straight, because it does!
Privileged: You know, I did not realize Lily was mysterious girl from Sarah Connor Chronicles! Now, is she on Privileged because they dumped her storyline, or did they dump her storyline because she moved to Privileged? I think the latter is more likely, given they replaced her with another mysterious blond girl. I like how they dumped the audience in this part of Megan's life, with no glimpse into her past other than vague conversations with Charlie and Lily. Because of that, you are inclined to believe Megan is being pretty bitchy, accusing her sister of the worst almost immediately. Because it does seem out of nowhere, or that there's no in-between- the littlest possibility that Lily did wrong sends Megan all the way into the red. But as Charlie said, Lily's done enough bad stuff to make Megan all accusatory. Then again, does she do bad things because she's bad, or because that's what Megan expects her to do? I figured they were pushing the Megan being a little too bitchy angle that it was going to turn out that Lily did really steal the bracelet, and looks like she did.
Now, does Rose know the bracelet really was stolen, and she made up the whole story about lending it to her friend because its only a bracelet, and even if Lily's a lying thief, she still wants Megan and Lily to patch things up, or was she just being flaky? Which brings me to another point, I like that the show isn't really a class thing. I mean, yeah, Megan's wowed by the rich lives Rose and Sage lead, but the conflict really stems from the differences in how she and the Baker sisters view family and friends. Megan was all shocked that the people they call friends kinda do horrible things to them, and vice versa, because her family was so effed up that she had to rely on people like Charlie and other friends, whereas Rose and Sage don't care because they have each other. Which has me thinking that that's why Rose wants Megan to patch things up with her sister, because the concept of not being close with one's sister is just the craziest thing in the world to her. I wonder if part of it is she wants to know they can mend the fences, so she can be reassured if something happens between her and Sage, no matter how bad, that its possible for sisters to re-connect despite such bad things.
Heh, and I feel sorry for poor Charlie. Megan is playing the "Oh, you're such a great friend!" angle pretty hard, like how oblivious is she? And he has to deal with not one, but two guys she's gaga for, neighbor guy and headmaster guy (and what kind of headmaster wants her to shirk her chaperon duties and let the sisters have their crazy party unsupervised just because he wants to tap that?!). How deliciously cruel! Heh, and while her talking about how great a friend Charlie is to her was supposed to be a complement, all that speech really did was twist the knife even further that she doesn't think of him that way. rjv('Cold! Blooded!') And if it couldn't get any worse, one of the socialite bitches, upon hearing the speech, is all, "So he's like a dog?!" HA!!! The poor bastard.
