Heh, so I had heard about the Scroll of NPCs book for Exalted, but I had no idea what it was exactly about. I didn't realize it contained conversions of a smattering of different characters from various video games, anime, and movies for Exalted. That and souped up versions of the Abyssal and Infernal iconics. Like Maiden of the Mirthless Smile with Soulsteel Celestial Battle Armor, Cearr with a Green Iron Heart and a crazy charm that turns him into a Godzilla sized monster. I'm mostly amused because when they stated them out in Scroll of Exalts, the things I would've done to improve them (since they were stated out as starting characters rather than "X level" NPCs) was given the Maiden Soulsteel Celestial Battle Armor and Cearr a Green Iron Heart.

Mass Effect blather- So I've gotten all the available squad members. Since my Shepard is a soldier, the wisest team members to bring along are either Tali, Liara, or Kaidan to give good Tech and Biotic support. Though my favored squad is Tali and Wrex. Wrex because he's the bad cop to my good cop, and Tali because she's spunky and the tech skills to hack terminals and open up doors and lockers. Of course relying on Tali for tech means the other person has to be a biotic, and I'd like to try and use everyone. I suppose I can use Garrus for Tech, which again means the other has to be a biotic. Or I can rely on Kaidan for Tech and Biotics which will let me bring Liara or Ashley. (And I think I'm going to try and romance the latter)

Almost through Scroll of Exalts, just have the Dragon-Blooded (I'm through a third of it, its the longest section, it seems) and Alchemical sections to finish. But reading through the NPCs has given me a better grasp on the different type of exalts. cut for lengthy geekiness )

Ah, I was pleasantly surprised to come home yesterday to see that my copy of Scroll of Exalts had arrived from Amazon. I've paged through the book and its been a good read so far (obviously, I poured through the infernal and abyssal entries first). cut for geekiness )

Cool, I got the rest of the Yozi-related books from Amazon today, Compass of Celestial Directions V: Malfeas (which covers Malfeas, the place) and Books of Sorcery V, Roll of Glorious Divinity II (which covers ghosts and demons). Though to complete my Abyssal/Infernal fanboy-ism, I really ought to get Compass of Celestial Directions IV: The Underworld as well. Its just there were things in MoEP: I that were explained in greater detail in the above books, so I thought I'd pick them up. (I know, you're thinking, great, he's going to start babbling about Exalted again.)

Is it me, or are the 4 chyx in that one Target commercial totally milf-y? Even if they do weird stuff like weight lift with laundry detergent.

Since I've been on an Exalted kick since Infernals (which is my favorite Exalted book since Abyssals, I still can't decide which one is better) came out, I had been looking on what's going on with the system. Apparently, there's a new book in the works that I'm really excited about, "The Scroll of Exalts". Heh, apparently the cover is an homage to the AD&D Player's Handbook? more under the cut )

TV Commentary:

True Blood- Okay, this ep was totally hilarious. I loved Amanda Jane and the god Rockets, performing "Jesus Asked Me Out Today", it totally made me think of that one ep of South Park when Cartman made that Christian rock band. I mean, when the song ends with the lead singer highlighting her jail-baityness with the line "I'm still your little girl in braids", I find it amusingly ridiculous that that camp doesn't see the irony of it all. A commentary on the whole Disney marketing sex under the guise of good moral values? spoiler cut )

Criminal Intent- Ah, so they were going that direction in the ep. Read more... )

One good thing about the transition to digital, is now I can watch TV in my room without getting interference from the over the air signal- it was plugged directly into the cable, rather than a box, so cw/cbs and comedy central were getting interference from whatever was broadcasting on 10 and 69 respectively. Well, CBS/CW weren't that bad, but Comedy Central was unwatchable. But now, those channels come in clear.

Got my dock extender cable in the mail yesterday. I had recently got an invisible shield for my ipod nano, as well as a CD/ipod capable clock radio. Unfortunately, even though the invisible shield is only millimeters thick, that somehow made it really difficult to plug it into the nano dock adapter. Which is just as well, because I also keep my nano in one of those neoprene sleeve/cases, which I would have to take it out of to plug into the dock. But, this company, Cable Jive makes a dock extender cable, so I can keep it in the case and still connect to my radio. Besides, plugging a cable into the ipod, I feel less worried than I do plugging it directly into the dock, particularly trying to feed it through the dock adapter. I felt like I was going to break something the latter way. In any case, I'm glad I'm no longer relegated to earphones trying to listen to my ipod at home.

Just have Smoking Aces on the telly as I type this up. It is quite weird that USA would choose to "premiere" it for the first time at 11pm. But its still odd to to see Jack, Richard, and Keamy from Lost in this, all with weird mustaches.

Finally finished reading through MoEP: Infernals. cut for geekery )

So at last night's CMT awards, Taylor Swift started off with a fake rap video of herself and T-pain. As Warming Glow says, its not as hilarious as the Natalie Portman Rap, but Taylor Swift is kinda hott in it:

But do you know what's hotter? Taylor Swift doing "Pour Some Sugar On Me" with Def Leppard.

Speaking of pouring sugar, [livejournal.com profile] clevemire was aghast that I did not have that song or Warrant's "Cherry Pie" in my stripper mix. So got a hold of those. Even got to break it in by inviting the rear neighbor's hot just turned eighteen year old snowflake daughter of the golden hair to take a break from her sun tanning by her pool and eating popsicles in her skimpy powder blue bikini and pink heart sunglasses to try out the pole in the basement. With sexy results! Okay, not really. Everyone knows there's no pole in the basement, because that room is reserved for Fight Club. Which I'm not supposed to talk about.

Random web surfing of the day:

Every Week On Entourage- Amusingly enough, that's actually quite accurate. And the Turtle and Drama impersonations are pretty spot on.

Top 10 Sexiest Animated Women- Foxxy Love as #1?! Really? And I always thought Aeon Flux looked funny. And I never saw what was so great about Jessica Rabbit. But no Erin Esurance?! She's hott! But who makes these lists anyways, there are way hotter looking animated chyx (yes, I realize how pathetic that sounds) than the chyx they picked. Like they didn't cover any Anime, and even if you didn't count that, there are hundreds of other animated series and movies drawn better (and more recent!) than their choices.

But speaking of not-real hot chyx, apparently there's a Nude mod for Zoey in Left 4 Dead. But between this, the nekkid Mona Sax code in Max Payne 2, and the ancient Nude Raider mod, are gamers really desperate to play nekkid chyx killing a bunch of stuff?

The 10 best recut movie trailers- Didn't someone do one of these already?

Even more Exalted stuff: cut for geekery )

(pulling out of the cut) So speaking of, on my "how well do you know me quiz?" on Facebook, I reference a playlist on my ipod called "m2k2", which I said was music to kick ass to, though the k actually stood for something else. Its pretty prosaic though, a lot of songs associated with kick-ass action scenes in movies:

m2k2 mix )

And while I'm listing playlists, this is the stripper mix I mentioned: (though there seems to be a lot of straight dance/club in there)

Stripper Mix )

EDIT: Oh, ha, I just realized I've been spelling Adjoran wrong this whole time, its Adorjan. WTF?! I say the mix up is because Adjoran ("Adjor-an?") flows off the tongue better then "a door jan"!

But why would those be separate theories? Wouldn't a serial crusher have to be a huge friggin guy? I had dinner at the Waffle House today, and ordered a bacon double quarter cheese plate. Which they somehow translated into double the amount of bacon and a double order of hashbrowns rather than an extra patty. But hey, I did get something extra at least.

So [livejournal.com profile] clevemire pointed this site out to me- The 25 Poses Asian Girls do when taking pictures. While the chyx they show do look ridiculously mad cute (how that differs from wicked mad cute, I don't know yet!), they also look ridiculous. Who poses like that? Well, obviously asian girls, but some of those poses are so strange!

Name the Network- For the last few I couldn't get, I was gonna cheat and look at the channel guide next to the TV here, but looking at it didn't actually get any answers to spring to mind. For the most part, I didn't need it anyways. I was stuck on Ice Road Truckers, even though the commercial for it shows before the last few movies I've seen in the theater. But since the list is in alphabetic order by the channels, it became obvious what it was, and I was all, duh! But yeah, the last one I needed was Hardball, and I needed to just think what channel would fit in alphabetically.

Oh, before watching the Hangover, I was killing time at Borders and picked up a copy of Exalted: Infernals. While the system mechanics in Exalted can be a handful, I've always liked the world and history. cut for geekery )

TV Commentary:

Pushing Daisies- Its sad that after this ep, there's just one more ep. As I said, since it had been so long between ABC canceling it and showing the remaining eps, I had forgotten what a funny and clever show this is. These eps just serve to strike home how much it sucks this show was canceled. spoiler cut )

So once again, I go to the BK at the student center and order a bacon double cheeseburger, and I get a double cheeseburger sans bacon. And again, I tell the lady, I said bacon double cheeseburger, and she's all "you said double cheeseburger". Uh, I think I know what I frakkin said! I wanted a bacon double cheeseburger, why would I just say double cheeseburger? Don't be putting words in my mouth, lady! I know what I said, you just misheard me! I'm a go with the flow kinda guy, but when it comes to eating out, I better get what I asked for!

I can't remember who I'm with who just lets it go, but I know there have been a couple of times I went somewhere with them and they didn't get what they want or didn't get some appetizer and they were just gonna let it go! You asked for it, you should get it!! Now, I understand food service is a tiring, thankless job. And I'm a somewhat generous tipper- I'm lazy so I end up just giving 20% on top of the post-tax total since that's the quickest to figure out (divide your total by 10 times 2) So its not like I don't respect them or anything. But if I ask for a bloomin' onion, I better get a bloomin' onion. If I want my hash browns scattered, smothered, covered, and chunked, they better be. None of this only scattered, smothered, and covered or whatever! I mean, if you go to a restaurant and order from the menu, and what you get is totally random, its chaos!

Owel, geek fun talk:
