Jun. 21st, 2009 02:12 pmOne good thing about the transition to digital, is now I can watch TV in my room without getting interference from the over the air signal- it was plugged directly into the cable, rather than a box, so cw/cbs and comedy central were getting interference from whatever was broadcasting on 10 and 69 respectively. Well, CBS/CW weren't that bad, but Comedy Central was unwatchable. But now, those channels come in clear.
Got my dock extender cable in the mail yesterday. I had recently got an invisible shield for my ipod nano, as well as a CD/ipod capable clock radio. Unfortunately, even though the invisible shield is only millimeters thick, that somehow made it really difficult to plug it into the nano dock adapter. Which is just as well, because I also keep my nano in one of those neoprene sleeve/cases, which I would have to take it out of to plug into the dock. But, this company, Cable Jive makes a dock extender cable, so I can keep it in the case and still connect to my radio. Besides, plugging a cable into the ipod, I feel less worried than I do plugging it directly into the dock, particularly trying to feed it through the dock adapter. I felt like I was going to break something the latter way. In any case, I'm glad I'm no longer relegated to earphones trying to listen to my ipod at home.
Exalted talk: I'm fascinated by the concept of a Full-Moon Lunar Akuma. Given the combat bent, I'm guessing Malfeas or Adorjan would be the best fit for such a creature. I don't actually know too much about Lunars, but reading the forums, the full moons can put up an insane offense and defense, but can't sustain it like the Solar-level exalted can. You just have to weather their offense until they run out of motes, its just that its a pretty powerful offense. Giving them Infernal level charms (plus the other Akuma benefits, and apparently Lunar Akuma are also able to learn Sidereal Martial Arts) makes them all the more deadly. Of course, all that's fine for making an NPC, but a Lunar Akuma character, with their high xp costs and the xp deficit they have to pay off for their Akuma-ness, would progress very slowly. Not that they wouldn't be monstrous at starting level, but they'll be stuck at that plateau for a while.
While I do hear great things about the Malfeas book, it is kinda disappointing there's no new Infernal charms in it. While Kimberry was mentioned as a Yozi who would definitely have Infernal charms to offer, I'd like to see an Isidoros charm set- physically the strongest of the Yozi, I'm guessing he would have some pretty kick-ass combat charms. The non-canon Isidoros charms people have put forth on various forums do look good.
