Back home from Hilton Head. Actually left later than the rest of the fam to try and (unsuccessfully) get some extra sleep. I dunno why I've been telling people its a six hour drive, when its closer to 4 1/2. Well, at least the way I drive. Though I guess that six hours counts stopping for food, but this time I didn't, so I left at 8am and got here half past noon.

As I said on facebook, the vacation went by too fast. Already unpacked and catching up on stuff on the DVR.

TV commentary:

Kings- Wait, I was reading the forums, and Kings is based on the Bible?! I did not know that. And I'm assuming since the show is dead in the water, and they knew about it beforehand, so that's why this past ep is like on fast forward with the time? spoiler cut )

Alas, its the last day of vacay, I wish I had more time, it seemed to breeze by.

While I think FoZG is cuter, ZG seems to be quite the naughty nymphet. First doing pole dancing-type moves on the pool railings, then causing quite a stir diving into the fake lagoon and then scandalizing staunchy old men walking by by asking them for help finding her bikini, all to the cheers and catcalls of her peers. WTF?! Talk about putting the B in JB!

Anyways, since Monday was me mum and [livejournal.com profile] durlxnemesis's b-days, went out with the entire clan for dinner at Harbortown. Then spent the rest of the week lounging the beach and shopping. Thursday was quite stormy, so we went to see a movie, and apparently everyone on the island had the same idea. Seriously, usually when we see a movie here, we end up being the only ones in the theater, but that day it was crowded. Saw Up with [livejournal.com profile] 7500centfish and [livejournal.com profile] kumquatqueen, while [livejournal.com profile] isabel79 saw Public Enemies, both at the Northridge theater. [livejournal.com profile] sparkyboy and [livejournal.com profile] durlxnemesis saw the Hangover and the parentals and TN saw The Proposal at the theater near the condo.

Up was a nice, pretty cute and heartwarming. Other movies I hadn't yet seen that I ended up seeing here- as I said, caught "He's Just Not That Into You" on Monday, but also caught "Hancock" and "The Invisible" on the cable channels. [livejournal.com profile] isabel79 had brought Center Stage 2 with her on the trip because [livejournal.com profile] 7500centfish asked her to. Coincidentally, Center Stage was on this morning, so after that, we watched the second one. Which was kinda blah compared to the first one. Plus, couldn't they get hotter chyx for it?

But I digress, I need to turn in and get some sleep, as I have to wake up early for the drive back up to the ATL.

Happy New Year! Instead of a big samich, ended up getting some party platters from Subway. But the guys told [livejournal.com profile] sparkboy that a platter could feed 5 people. Bull, I think it can feed more than that. Especially with my family, who eat like birds. So he ordered three platters, which was entirely too much.

Oh, and apparently my family was all offended because I had didn't know who Pacuqiao was. I guess because he's Filipino and mussed up De La Hoya and is considered so great in the boxing world, I'm supposed to have some Flip pride about him or something. I suppose he has some pretty good accomplishments.

I also saw the trailer for Crank II (ooh, a cameo by Jenna Haze!) You know, I thought it would be about someone else in a similar sitch, I didn't realize Jason Statham's character is still alive (oops, spoiler!). WTF?! Yeah, they made it seem like his heart was still beating in the end, but shouldn't every bone in his body be shattered?! But whatever, I guess its just more LCD sex and violence.

Geez, I'm so lazy. So I've basically spending my vacay lounging around here watching tv, surfing the web, and playing video games. I know I say every year I should head into the city and do something, I never do, unless I have an excuse, like someone being in town or one of my parents wanting to meet for lunch.

So I was watching CMT's best of 2008, and that video for International Harvester was on it, and I'm sure people made this comment when it first came out (but hey, its new to me), but if he's saying that he's the son of a third generation farmer, and then says he's married to the farmer's daughter, is he saying he married his sister?!

And what's with Robot Chicken showing a new ep last night? No one usually shows anything new this week, its a good thing one of the sites I perused mentioned it was new, else I would've missed it. Oh, and while I'm sure people who watch Robot Chicken have at least heard of Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus, would they necessarily know the plot of the show?

Heh, just logged into my work e-mail for the first time since a little before Christmas. 500+ messages?! What the eff?! Well, that's actually pretty standard. And way less than it would be had I not logged in and checked my e-mail for a week any other week, since its Christmas break and everyone else is off too.
geebs: (Default)
Murray Christmas! (Well, technically, its past Christmas, but I'm only now making a post, so whateva) Anywhose, the 24th had [livejournal.com profile] zarathrustra94 and [livejournal.com profile] turdburgler to my parents' humble abode for Christmas Eve dinner. Heh, I ended up subjecting them to my terrible parallel parking. But I swear I do better on the right side of the street, trying to parallel park on the left side throws me off. But lots of food as usual, though I think the fam was trying to stuff C+T a little too much.

Afterwards, dropped them off at the 30th Ave station, because I didn't want them walking the 15 blocks to the station in the dark, cold, and slippery ice. Hit Mt. Carmel after that for the Christmas Choir performance and Christmas Eve mass. I dunno if I haven't been getting enough sleep or something, but I was feeling so tired during mass and opening the gifts after midnight once we were back home.

Today, (well, Christmas) headed over to NJ for the usual. More food as usual, so stuffed myself on lumpia and bbq ribs and honey glazed ham and lasagna. Some good eating. Alas, A didn't come up this year again, which kinda sucked. Owel. Alas, since BK didn't show up for a couple of hours (plus, there was a movie playing on the DVD player that people wanted to finish), didn't get to do a lot of Rock Band 2-ing. I mean, I got to sing three songs and drum another two, but I woulda liked to play some more before having to leave. Sadly, he did not have the Weezer DLC, so wasn't able to try the Greatest Man that Ever Lived. Well, his 360 seemed to be having issues anyways, where the game wouldn't play any of his DLC songs, giving an "unable to play the selected song" error and kicking us back out to the join in screen whenever we tried playing one of those songs. Anyone ever have this problem?
geebs: (Default)
Its been a long day. Met up with [livejournal.com profile] zarathrustra94 and [livejournal.com profile] turdburgler in Manhattan. Hit South Street Seaport first, where we had lunch. Then walked up through the financial district, and saw the Stock Exchange (well, the outside). Also saw Ground Zero, which I hadn't yet been to even though its been like seven years.

We also went to the Empire State Building. It was quite chilly up on the observation deck. And what's with all the foreigners? Aren't there any American tourists?

Anyways, went to Grand Central Station afterwards. Since it was around 5, went to Willner's to see Mom so I could just go home with her and not have to walk all the way back from the station since Dad always picks her up. After C&T took their leave, waited downstairs and saw my former co-workers. Heh, there's a collage of pics on one of the walls of everyone (there's a couple of pics from me I guess from way back when), but there seemed to be far more of R than anyone else. Including one of her and the Rock from this past Summer. I guess he must've come into the store.

Owel, just having a nice long sit right now, because boy are my legs tired!
geebs: (Default)
Finally saw Moulin Rouge the other day. I had [livejournal.com profile] isabel79 bring it down with her. I liked it. Not as much as Rent or Enchanted, but I thought it was clever how many songs they managed to work in. Speaking of musical movies, Mamma Mia comes out next Friday. Righteous!

Which reminds me of trivia last week. Since none of us watch American Idol, or would watch a movie like "Dreamgirls", the answer to the question of which American Idol alum won a best supporting actress Oscar did not come to us as instantly as it did everyone else. I knew who it was, but had trouble getting the name to spring to mind. Luckily, I remembered the name was mentioned in the Lil' Mama remix of Avril Lavigne's "Girlfriend". So I played it in my head and remembered the answer was "Jennifer Hudson". The competition is pretty tough, while we're always in the top 3 to 5 teams, it seems we can't even miss one question if we wanna win something. Alas, we can't place unless we do perfectly and the competition misses key questions, which has yet to happen.

But getting back to vacay, I forgot to mention my noble steed for this trip, a 2008 PT Cruiser I dubbed "Prickly Pete": under the cut )

The license plate had "awl" on it. An awl is pointy, and PT sounds like "Petey", hence "Prickly Pete". I decided to rent a car for the trip, and since Enterprise does unlimited miles in-state and bordering states, it was only $270 for the week. Eh, I didn't want to put Star through the strain of a 300 miles back and forth drive, plus that way I had more room to ferry people around just in case. I had chosen "full size", and was expecting a Fusion or a G8, so I was surprised to get the Cruiser. It was a pretty cool ride. Though annoyingly, it did not have cruise control, which usually comes in handy when driving 4+ hours. Speaking of long drives, kept myself awake this time by playing the soundtracks to Rent and the Buffy musical on the CD player. I figured I won't fall asleep if I'm singing along. But since I had a better vehicle, didn't mind driving around. So, took turns being chauffeur with [livejournal.com profile] isabel79 and the Indy (I'm not the only one naming cars!).

Owel, finally back home. As I said, it was an insane drive back up with the weather making visibility almost zero. But I went slowly and punched through. And just in time. By the time I got to Atlanta proper, I just got ahead of the construction crews closing down the lanes on the connector for the weekend 75/85 paving project.

Had a fun time on Vacation. Basically just lounged around on the beach/poolside in the morning/afternoon, went around here there late afternoon/night. I think I know my way around Hilton Head pretty well now. I mean, basically everything's off 278, but now I know where all the normal places we hit that aren't off 278 (Harbortown, Coligny) are in respect to the condo. I didn't realize they were so close by.

Anyways, Sunday was me mum and [livejournal.com profile] durlxnemesis's B-days, so we had dinner at this seafood/steakhouse place. Heh, while me and [livejournal.com profile] durlxnemesis were rating the waitresses, [livejournal.com profile] isabel79 and [livejournal.com profile] sparkyboy were checking out the waiters/bus boys. Heh, I think they even surreptitiously took pictures of "cute bois" by pretending to take pictures of themselves or the family, but really focusing on them. Its interesting how there's no stigma from girls snapping pics of guys they think are cute like that, but if you switched the sexes around, the picture taker would prolly be labeled a sicko perv.

One thing I noticed, there were more NBCCs (nubile bikini clad cuties) tanning poolside rather than the beach. Is it because they'd prefer to deal with less sand? I mean, it is annoying walking on the beach and getting all that sand all over your feet. Plus, I guess a dip in the pool is more refreshing than the salty, sandy ocean, "with all the fish" as Kirsten Cohen would put it.

the girls of HH )

[livejournal.com profile] sparkyboy had to go home early for work, so we hit Savannah for an hour before dropping him off at the airport there so he could fly to Hartsfield then LGA. I thought it would be bigger, but its a small little burg. I mean, I'd been there once before, but judging by the map and how long it took to get from point a to point b, its not that big a city.

Saw Wanted again with [livejournal.com profile] isabel79 (since she finds James Mcavoy keen) and [livejournal.com profile] durlxnemesis on Thursday. Heh, do smaller theaters show less trailers? Because we only got a Death Race trailer in front of the movie before it started.

And now we're caught up to today. TV commentary:

- The Psych commercial where Shawn and Gus do "Ebony and Ivory", you know, I did not realize they were remaking the actual Stevie Wonder/Paul Mccartney video? I thought they were just being silly. But the original video is that lame with them sitting around the giant piano keys and giving each other fives for some reason.

- Heh, one thing I want to see in Swingtown is Janet and Tom to hook up. That would be hilarious! I mean, even though she's all uptight, you know she's all flattered when Tom's his usual flirty self with her. Plus, her own husband has a thing for Susan, and if Bruce really is into Trina like they imply, then they can all just switch partners!

- Burn Notice, cut for spoilers )

Holy cow, its frickin stormy out there! I'm at a Wendys an hour south of the Cell, having dinner. But driving back, hit some heavy pockets of rain and wind and lightning. I couldn't see but 5 feet in front of me!

I'd make a poll, but since I'm posting this on my mobile, I can't. But when confronted with this kinda weather while driving, do people pull over or push through?

Me, I drive through hoping I can get out of it and be on my merry way. But there were dozens of cars on the side of the road, that's how bad the weather was! So, am I being foolhardy?
geebs: (thinking)
Just having a lazy New Year's. Normally, I'd be waiting at an airport right now, but I pushed back my return to the weekend this year. Its nice to not have to be rushed after the New Year's celebration.

Some New Year's pics: under the cut )
geebs: (Default)
Happy New Years! Its the first post of 2008, just winding down from celebrating New Years with the Fam. Had it at the 'rents this year rather than [livejournal.com profile] isabel79's since we couldn't cart the whole clan over there this year. Ridiculously, there was even more food than Christmas. Big samich, a dozen lobsters, a whole lotta pork chops in addition to the usual stuff. I was thinking, who's gonna eat all this stuff? I mean, there's 25 of us, but some of these people eat like birds. I guess that's what leftovers are for. Did break my no alcohol rule and tried some of the Eiswein from the Euro trip.

Owel, weird traditions the family has. There's the grape thing, where you eat a dozen grapes after midnight and keep the seeds and its supposed to bring you money for the new year. And then there's the turning on all the lights thing. But apparently there's also a leaving all the doors open and the faucets running as the clock strikes midnight. WTH?!

Heh, was watching an ep of L&O:CI before it was time for the ball to drop, and it started out with a couple of guys doing a recreation of the duel between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton. Strangely enough, that's not the first Aaron Burr killing Alexander Hamilton thingie I've encountered over vacation, there's also this video where a drunk guy explains the whole Aaron Burr/Alexander Hamilton thing. It has Michael Cera of AD and Superbad fame, though I'm trying to figure out if the Ashley Johnson in it is the one who played Chrissy on Growing Pains. But I digress, in the CI ep, the duel was intercut with someone setting up a sniper rifle, a Chey Tac M200, to be exact. Coincidentally, since the Military channel has been doing a Futureweapons marathon, saw the ep where they did a littly ditty on the Chey Tac rifle not 24 hours before. An awesome-cool weapon.

But I digress again. I immediately recognized it as the Chey Tac, and I figured they were just gonna say it was a generic rifle, but the whole insane range and power of the Chey Tac actually figured into the episode, as the shot was made from a huge distance and the target was wearing a vest. Given that .408 round can easily punch through steel plate, I still think there should have been a more grievous wound, but such a wound would be too graphic for TV. Anyways, the ep seemed to be strange product placement for the weapon, given when they find it, the company logo is prominently displayed on the box and they're all, "This is the only weapon in the world that could've made such a shot!"

And [livejournal.com profile] sparkboy got all these Mika songs stuck in my head now.

Murray Christmas to all!

Owel, typical Christmas eve, lots of food, went to the Choir Christmas performance/Christmas mass at 1030pm, got home by midnight to open presents, then turned in. Actual Christmas day, went to the usual NJ thing. Alas, A was not there, so that was kinda disappointing. Interesting though, R, well I guess its B now. I still think of him as R, but a lot of people call him B. I think he goes by B now. But I digress. I didn't know he was one of the programmers for Frontlines: Fuel of War. That's cool. Anyways, he brought Rock Band and his 360. Actually, [livejournal.com profile] sparkyboy got it for the ps2 (I didn't know it was available on the ps2). But he only got the game, as he couldn't find the bundle this close to X-mas. He had a mike already, he figured he'd get the instruments later.

Anyhoo, I digress yet again. Getting back to Rock Band on the 360, tried that out instead of the usual karaoking. Though I think the old folks felt it was too loud. After all, it was "Rock Band" so all the songs were prolly too rocking for them. It was cool to be able to play it with a group, though one of the guitars wasn't working so the songs were sans bass. Obviously, the vocals were the easiest for me to do, and I did both Boston's "Foreplay/Long Time" and "Wanted: Dead or Alive" by Bon Jovi. The former is a little ridiculous since the Foreplay part is a couple of minutes for the drums and guitar before the voices even kick in. Played the drums when doing "Don't Fear the Reaper" with B on the guitar and his wife on vocals. I still kinda suck at it, but not enough to fail a song.

Heh, and I realize why I thought I totally sucked at Guitar Hero. Now, I've never formally played it at anyone's house, only the demos at stores. So I had no idea how to play it, I figured it was just pressing the right colored button at the right time. I didn't realize you had to press both the right button and the strum bar. I was wondering why I'd think I was hitting it at the right time and it not registering. Well now I know. (And knowing is half the battle!) Did the guitar for Hole's "Celebrity Skin" with B on drums and [livejournal.com profile] sparkyboy singing vocals. I'm still subpar, but like with the drums, not enough to fail. All in all, it was fun to play. I guess once me brudder gets some instruments, can play it a little more before vacation ends.
geebs: (Default)
Thanksgiving came and went, some good eating. Had a lazy Friday. Went to [livejournal.com profile] isabel79's today and hit the mall to get some of the Christmas shopping out of the way so I don't have to lug it back here when I come back for Christmas.

Hit Toys R Us and got the boys some Sigma 6 G.I.Joes. On line, was surprised to see parents buying like this generic playset stuff, and all I was thinking was, do these parents not know their kids? Who wants some crappy farmer playset and cheapo plastic dinosaurs when they could get cool army guys with guns and kung fu grips?! If it were me, I'd want the Joes. Of course, mebbe I'm just biased and other boys would prefer that stuff.

Had lunch at Fridays with the family. Some good eating. I swear the waitress looked totally familiar, but I didn't want to ask. Particularly because the reason she looked familiar was prolly because she reminded me of one of the strippers at the Pony.

[livejournal.com profile] sparkyboy got Singstar Pop and Singstar 80s for the PS2. Ida know, I like the scoring system in Karaoke Revolution better, but Singstar has better song choices, prolly because they focused on certain genres, rather than trying to be widespread like Revolution. 80s is pretty cool, tried "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go", "Hold Me Now", and "Come On Eileen", which are pretty fun, but kinda fast paced and hard to get "right" by Singstar's scoring system. Half the time I had to just slur through the words!
geebs: (Default)
Ugh, still feeling a little bleh. Anyways, with all this free time, I should be catching Transformers and HP:OotP. Oh, and the last book comes out in a little more than a week, Ah can't wait!

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] sparkyboy was able to figure out the movie I had mentioned watching in Lucerne about the chick sleeping with her stepbrother or cousin or whatever- it was called "amore proibito". Which I assume means "prohibited love", which makes me think our guess that she was fraking someone she shouldn't was right. Alas, it wasn't on imdb (there's a film with that name there, but its not the same movie), and trying to google it to figure out the plot was actually about proved unsuccessful. I also figured out the German teen drama, it was some show called Fabrixx. From the description, nro-nazism sounds like an issue they might tackle.

I've also been burning myself copies of the pics and footage from the trip. Here's a taste:

Its me in some monkey statue in some city by the Rhine. (I know, I'm so descriptive!) I forget what the legend of the monkey is.

And some video clips:

One of the performances from the hofbrauhaus in Munich. Some traditional dancing and they play like the axe and saw. Its not in this clip, but as I mentioned before, they even play a rubber glove!

Me mum and [livejournal.com profile] sparkyboy on Mount Pilatus after it was covered in fog. (You can see me briefly in the background videotaping the scene as well) As I said before, the sky was clear when we got up there, but right near when we had to leave, the fog rolled in. I was only in the gift shop for a few minutes, but in those few minutes, the fog just enveloped the place.
geebs: (Default)
Just got back from the cabaret, a place called La Nouvelle Eve. It was pretty cool, its not a big production like Moulin Rouge or that other big one whose name escapes me right now. It was a smaller, more intimate venue, so your senses weren't ovewhelmed and you could really take it all in and enjoy the show. And the tour director said its a more accurate portrayal of the Parisian cabaret.

But like I said, it was a pretty entertaining show. Though there were some topless performances, and I don't care how old I am, seeing that sort of thing with my parents present still weirds me out.

Owel, tomorrow I fly back stateside for a few days back in NYC before heading back to the ATL.
geebs: (Default)
Another day, some more touring of Paris. Went up the Eiffel tower this morning. Strangely, the armed soldiers guarding the place were armed with the FA MAS F1, rather than the new G2 model with the full handguard; You know I'm a freak when I'm at a famous monument, and the first thing I notice is the guns the soldiers are armed with. Anyhoo, it was way too frickin' cold waiting at the base. And it was pretty cold up top as well (only went up to the second level) but it provided a good view of the city.

Next, went into the heart of the city, did some browsing at the Galerie Lafayette, then ate at Mickey D's for lunch. Heh, Quarter Pounders are really called Royales w/ Cheese. And they give you packet of some special sauce for your fries. I think its some sort of spicy mayo? EDIT:Oh, forgot to mention saw the outside of the Opera house. [livejournal.com profile] 7500centfish showed up as I was typing this up, but alas, [livejournal.com profile] isabel79 she did not see this Marius looking fellow.

Anyhoo, afterwards, went down to the palace of Versailles. That's a huge frickin' place. Talk about excess, no wonder the peasants were so pissed. Anyways, after taking a tour inside, wandered the gardens in back. There was gunfire coming from somewhere. Like someone was target shooting or something. so I was wandering this way and that to find the source. I know, I hear gunfire, and my first instinct is to go towards it, I really am a wacko. Wandered off the beaten path, but turned back before I could find it because I was deep somewhere were no other people were. I mean, there were no signs saying I couldn't be where I was, but it didn't look touristy.

Anyways, just got back from that, and will have dinner at a Cabaret in a few hours.
geebs: (Default)
Argh, what the frak is up with all these countries having different keyboards? Its seriously getting frustrating trying to type at a good pace when the keys are in different places. And in France, you hold shift for the numbers rather than vice versa. Anyways, I forgot to mention in the last post what inspired me to be all "Aussie girls are hott!" As I was getting ready to peruse the internet last night, bumped into this way hot Kate Mara looking chick explaining to her parents something in an Aussie accent. Again, hott!

Anyhoo, this morning, as I was getting ready to leave Lucerne, put it on some weird German teen drama to kill time before breakfast. The production levels are on par with Edgemont. Anyways, you had your usual teen drama fare, some harlot is trying to steal some loser who thinks hes so great from his girl next door cutie gf. But then there was some weird dark ritual involving kids heating up a cross (not a Christian cross, as it had an x above the crossbeam) necklace and then wearing it to brand themselves. I think they were supposed to be secret nazis or something. It was in German, so I didn't know what the hell was going on. But then some other students met somewhere to talk about those kids, and were looking all perturbed and they mentioned "nazi" a bunch of times. So unless there's some common word that sounds like Nazi they'd be talking about, I guess Nazi-ism is a subject matter covered by German teen dramas.

So, I'm in Gay Paris right now. We had a several hour bus ride from Lucerne to Paris, with a very, very brief stopover in Burgandy. Okay, so I guess Paris is a pretty beautiful city. Had dinner at some French restaurant. [livejournal.com profile] 7500centfish got some Esargot for an appetizer. Eh, I don't see what the big deal is. It was okay, not gross. And ha, ever since the German brauhaus, one of our tourees, who I'll refer to as Texas Tina (like the name of Niki's friend on Heroes) because she's from Texas and named Tina, was taken on stage to do the Chicken Dance, that song has been playing at every place we eat dinner at that has musical entertainment. But yeah, tonight we were treated to French Accordian music.

Then we took a scenic ride through the streets of Paris and saw the Eiffel Tower sparkle up. Just got back, so with all the driving, its definitely been a long day.
geebs: (Default)
Stupid weather, I think I'm sick because it keeps going from relatively warm and sunny to cold and breezy. Anyhoo, this morning went to Mount Pilatus. Named after atv('Punchy Pilate') for some reason. I think there was a story behind it, but I missed it. Its about a 7000 foot peak, and the cable car ride up there was a little freaky, because I think the second cable car we transfered to might have had a little more people than usual.

But, frak, that's high. I got some footage from the top of the two peaks, and looking down, its like holy crap! And the higher peak, I thought going up it was gonna be the worse part, because its so high and tiring. But then going down, you see how steep it frickin' is! But ha, after lunch, I went inside to use the water closet and check the gift shop, and when I went in the skies were sunny and clear. I leave the gift shop and the whole area is blanketed in fog and its frickin' cold! I mean, I brought a jacket because its up in the mountains, but the sun and walking made me all hot and sweaty, so I took it off. That's what's screwing me up. Took the world's steepest cog-train down the mountain, then took a cruise of Lake Lucerne, which is only 30 feet deep at its deepest.

Then walked around their main square. The tour guide promised us a rolex and a cube of gold. Only it was a free rolex spoon (they make spoons?!) and chocolate in a gold colored wrapper. Though in all fairness, the chocolate was the consolation prize- you had to enter a three digit number into a safe at one of the swiss watchmaker's shops (One of the big ones that's not Rolex or Swatch. G-something?!) and if you got it right, you got a watch.

Anyways just had dinner and am transcribing this before I turn in early and hopefully beat this bug. Oh, but last night, one of the couples on our tour is Australian, but last night, when the guy was picked to come on stage to yodel, he claimed to be from New Zealand. So everyone was all, you're a NZ-er?! But there were so many Aussies there that night, he wanted to be different.

But my point being, there sure are a lot of mad cute Aussie girls vacationing right now. Walking around in their hot little outfits and talking in their cute accents. I guess its winter for them now. But the weather's been so abysmal, its prolly warmer there right now.

Speaking of hotties, the main server tonight was this mad cute petite blue eyed brunette. But alas, she was married. Not that means I was going to do anything about it if she wasn't.

Oh, and last night me brudder was flicking through the channels and stopped on this movie. Alas, I managed to catch the name of one of the actresses and was going to imdb it to figure out the plot since we didn't know what was going on because it was in eye-talian. Its about this girl screwing around with some boy, but they live in the same house with might've been their parents? Or mebbe the boy's father was her uncle. the mother definitely wasn't hers. Either way, she was doing something scandalous with either her cousin or step-brother. Or at the very least, someone she shouldn't be doing. So I'm trying to figure out the plot for posterity. But wasn't able to find her on an imbd search.
geebs: (Default)
So, its 7/7/7. I didn't realize people were making it a big deal about it. I like saw three different weddings today! They think its lucky or something? And is it some sort of lesbian day or something as well?! I saw no less than eight lesbian couples throughout the course for today. And not in a "heh, they might be lesbians" kinda way, they really were lesbians.

This morning, left Munich for Lucerne. But first, a short stop in Austria. Innsbruck, to be exact. Alas, we got less than an hour there. And it seemed like a pretty intersting place. I really need to start carrying extra DVD-Rs with me instead of leaving them in my tote bag that I leave on the bus, as the camera runs out at inopportune times. Used up most of the disc I was using in Austria in the Swarovski store filming all the crystal sculptures. Well, and the hostess, who was kinda cute. Is it me, or are Austrian girls pretty cute?

Next, headed to Liechtenstein. Alas, nothing about Sir Ulrich. (He's blonde, he's pissed, he'll see you in the lists!) But its a small little place. And they somehow have a Flip association there. Izn't zat vierd?! Anyhoo, you can get your passport stamped there, since you normally don't have to since its associated with Switzerland and thus can move between the two freely. Heck, they don't even make too big a deal passing from the rest of the European Community to Switzerland (since it didn't join). The tour director made it sound like the stamp was going to be ridiculously huge ass, but it wasn't. I was wearing my "Trust me, I'm a Doctor" T-shirt, and the cute Lichtensteiner snowflake stamping my passport (Is that what they call it these days?) was all, "Are you really a doctor?" One of these days I'm gonna have to lie and say that I am.

Anyways, getting there and then to Lucerne, passed by the Alps and some big lake who's name escapes me right now. But the views of both the mountains and lake were beautiful. Got some footage of that, but stupid trees by the road kept getting in the way. Did some walking around Lucerne, then had a dinner at some Swiss folklore place. Pops was kinda pissed because the way the seats were arranged, we were on a different table from the rest of the tour group, so our waitress kept forgetting about us. And she's not even Swiss! I think she was Japanese. But she was in the Swiss Miss outfit and had the pigtails. HOTT!

Again, I didn't carry spare discs (I only have 2 left, but another day here and two days in Paris left! I need to save them for things that can't be expressed in digital photos, like performances!), so I missed a lot of the performances. I got a fair amount of their yodeler Sylvia, who I thought was kinda cute. She had the short blonde hair that I sometimes like on blondes if they can pull it off. Of course, all the time she was yodeling, I kept thinking of the Price is Right (what the hell is the name of that particular game?!) because the tune she was yodeling was exactly like the game. And I did get some people trying out those long horns like from the Riccola commercials. But I missed some of the special instruments (like the saw!) and the flag tossing, and the guys in the cow suit going around the crowd as Sylvia played the cowbell. And what's up with going to at least two places with people playing the cowbell but no one playing "(Don't Fear) the Reaper"? (Wait, I made that joke already, didn't I?)

Anyways, just got back from that, getting ready to turn in for a day of sightseeing in Lucerne tomorrow.

Its almost 8pm, but its been a long day. (And like England, the keys are on funny places on the keyboard. Its like, why did they switch y and z?!) Just at an internet cafe in the mall below the hotel right now. I replied to some comments from here earlier today, and I wish I knew about this place earlier, as its much cheaper than the hotel. I spent like 2.5 euros for an hours worth of surfing (So I'm at least caught up on most of my sites. Alas, ssh clients aren't commonly found on these things, so I haven't checked my bang mail in a week!), while it cost me three times that for half the time up at the hotel. And its literally just less than 100 feet away too! Case of rum, case of rum.

Anyways, got to wake up later than usual today, 730, as most of the trip have been having to wake up around 5 to 530 since we have to get up early to beat traffic and be able to squeeze everything in. Had a guided tour of Munich from a severe old German lady. She like only gave us 20 minutes to see Nymphenburg, and people were still late so she's all that wasn't "German 20 minutes". But it was a pretty nice place from what I saw, as is the rest of the city. All in all, I'd say Germany as a whole is pretty cool.

But I digress, we got dropped off at the Marienplatz and were made to walk back and do whatever we wanted in the city. Unlike the other glockenspiel, the one here was a little more interesting- it had more moving parts, at least! Then had lunch at some pizza place. Got some pizza (Frickin' frick, I keep tzping piyya and have to keep going back to correct it!) with some sort of red spiced meat that wasn't pepperoni. The cashier girl was a hot German blonde.

Afterwards, went with pops to the Technical Museum. Wandered there for a few hours and still didn't get to see everything. Its a pretty interesting museum, though not all of the exhibits were translated into English, so I didn't know what things were half the time. I got the gist. But between all the walking in the museum and the half hour walk to the hotel, my feet are killing me!

Dinner was a nice buffet with lots of meat. And today's my mom's b-day (And [livejournal.com profile] durlxnemesis as well, so happy B-day to him!) so they surprised her with a cake, which I got a couple of pieces of, which in addition to the chocolate mousse, has made me completely stuffed.
