Back home from Hilton Head. Actually left later than the rest of the fam to try and (unsuccessfully) get some extra sleep. I dunno why I've been telling people its a six hour drive, when its closer to 4 1/2. Well, at least the way I drive. Though I guess that six hours counts stopping for food, but this time I didn't, so I left at 8am and got here half past noon.
As I said on facebook, the vacation went by too fast. Already unpacked and catching up on stuff on the DVR.
TV commentary:
Kings- Wait, I was reading the forums, and Kings is based on the Bible?! I did not know that. And I'm assuming since the show is dead in the water, and they knew about it beforehand, so that's why this past ep is like on fast forward with the time? Like holy crap, they killed off Leslie Bibb's character as almost an afterthought and now Jack is back to marrying that Lucinda chick. I kinda feel sorry for her, as if she didn't already think it was enough of a sham with Jack still looking at the boys, the Queen is treating her like she's applying for a job, rather than marrying her son.
I do feel sorry for Jack as well, he's as much a pawn as her. When he finds out that his dad is gonna name him heir, he actually keeps his word with his uncle, and is all, they can have their cake and eat it too, he'll make sure his Uncle is by his side, and all without having to perform a bloody coup. But his uncle wants blood, and I suppose wants to be the man behind the throne, which he must feel can only be effective if its by his power that Jack becomes king.
But pretty bold of David's mom to lay the verbal smackdown on Silas. I guess Silas has to do what he has to do, but in a world where there seems to be actual divine intervention, I would think he should know that no matter what he does, if it is deemed David should be king by whatever higher power they believe in, he'll be king. Heh, like with his energy initiative plan totally failing, and then David showing up the hero, if that's not a sign, what is?
I was confused about the end, was that a flashforward indicating that David does become king, or was that written that same night David came back, and he's secretly siding with David and is getting a jump on like publishing rights or something by writing the book now.
