Thing that has blown my mind for today: Jeremy Renner was Penn on Angel! So ND was making a comment about not realizing Hawkeye was in the new Bourne movie. So I decided to imdb him to see what the first thing I saw him in- I was thinking 28 Weeks Later, but SWAT was before that. But as it turns out, it was Angel! What the frick, and that's one of my favorite episodes too! It was the ep where Kate first finds out about Angel- someone has been killing people, and they think its Angel at first, but they eventually figure out its some random protege he had when he apparently wasn't hanging out with Darla, Spike, and Drusilla (and that random couple from the 3rd season premiere who they acted like had a history with Angelus and Darla). But I digress, I just thought the ep was cool, because on the show (and BtVS) up to that point, they've only shown regular people (not counting Slayer and friends) being attacked by vamps. I just thought it was interesting to see him stroll into the police station and wipe the floor with everyone there to showcase how dangerous vamps really are.

But I digress again, like I said, thinking about it now, that totally was Jeremy Renner! It just blows my mind he was doing random guest spots on Angel. But I guess everyone has to get their start somewhere. Amusingly enough, he's not the only person from MI:4 to randomly appear on Angel, lest we forget before Sawyer was on Lost, he was a random vampire who Angel dusts in the pilot for Angel.

Oh, Renner was also in an ep of Time of Your Life, which as I think I posted about a few months ago, I totally forgot existed. Time of Your Life being the JLH-centered spinoff of Party of Five (pgv('What the hell is Party of Five?!')). Once I started recalling it, I remembered that Jennifer Garner was on it after Felicity but before Alias. But I had no recollection of Pauly Perrette being on it. I mean, its hard to imagine her as anything but Abby on NCIS.

So I was reading this TWoP article about other shows/movies/games from '99 that should get a reunion like American Pie is, and I had totally forgotten there was a Party of Five (pgv('What the hell is Party of Five?!')) spin off starring JLH's character. And that it had Jennifer Garner, post-Felicity, but before Alias. I think I did see one episode. I had no idea Abby from NCIS was also in it though.

So my sources say Josh Schwartz is gonna have the OC and Gossip Girl crossover? Well, have them exist in the same universe. He could go for his show trifecta and throw Chuck in there as well, but while I can see the OC and Gossip Girl going together, Chuck would not. But yeah, my sources tell me they're thinking of having a young Lily (apparently the pilot is already being filmed, with Brittany Snow as young Lily, and Krysten Ritter is in it as well?) interacting with a young Kirsten Cohen (well, I guess that would be Nichols) and Jimmy Cooper, and possibly young Julie Cooper as well, though I can't see how that would work. It always seemed to me that Jimmy didn't get with Julie until long after Kiki dumped him, and I thought they got married because she was knocked up with Marissa. And wasn't she 18 at the time, so unless Jimmy was a pervert, they couldn't have been going out for too long. So for Marissa and Seth to be the same age, the Coopers couldn't have been going out until Kirsten and Sandy had been together for a while.

But I digress. What if other shows made by the same creator existed in the same universe? The David E Kelley stuff, didn't Boston Public, the Practice/Boston Legal, and Ally Mcbeal all exist in the same world? Like I think Joss could make it so either Buffy/Angel or Dollhouse existed in the same universe as Firefly (though I don't think Buffy/Angel and Dollhouse being the same world would work). I'd throw Dr. Horrible in there as well, but I think they've hinted very heavily that it takes place in the same universe as The Tick. Although one could geekily argue that the Buffyverse is the same as the Firefly-verse through the Alien: Resurrection connection. (which Joss wrote). Weyland-Yutani is the corporation in the Alien series, whom Wolfram & Hart listed as a famous client in the 5th season of Angel, and more than a few of the weapons in Firefly have the Weyland-Yutani logo on it.

But heh, I don't think it would be too far fetched for Alias, Lost, Fringe, and Felicity to exist in the same universe. After all, Driveshaft does exist in the first two. And Felicity has had mystical elements (the deus ex machina spell Meghan cast first season that broke Felicity and the Gnoll up and hooked her up with Ben, and of course Felicity going back in time and reliving her senior year of college). So I don't think there's anything preventing those shows from taking place in the same universe. Like I don't think the weird stuff in Alias, Fringe, or Lost really contradicts each other. Hey, I totally think Rambaldi, the Island, and the Pattern could exist in the same world without stepping on each others toes.

TV commentary:

Smallville- I was complaining about how terrible this show was last week, but I will say I do like how they're doing the whole Doomsday storyline, making it more like an evil-Hulk kinda thing. When the show isn't about Clark moping about his secret life and how he can never tell Lana (now Lois), it isn't too bad. spoiler cut )

Supernatural- Interesting ep of Supernatural last night. As I've said, I like the addition of angels to the mythology. I guess this is kinda blasphemous, but I've always found the whole angel or angels doing something bad out of jealousy of the human race, being all they're the most loyal, but humans are the big G's favored creation even though many don't even acknowledge him and do all sorts of things against his will, to be an interesting storyline. spoiler cuts )

The Office- Wow, some crazy developments in the Office as well. spoiler cut )

Hmm, gonna get the car looked at today. I'm suspicious, and I'd rather not have the car break down on my way to Hilton Head in a couple of weeks. Speaking of trips, apparently the parentals and Tita Nette are going to Vegas. What's with everyone going to vegas all of a sudden? Todd went a couple of months ago, and Krug was suggesting a Vegas trip to the poker crew. Hey, I wouldn't mind going. I'm not a big gambling fan. Its like, y'all go to your poker games, you know where I'll be going.

Ah, I think the Cowboy Bebop movie comes out on DVD today. I already have an import version, but I'll pick up the new version. I mean, it was pretty good, and the new release has extras, so I don't see it as wasterful. Anyways, speaking of DVDs, I was reading the latest Felicity recap on TWoP and they were talking about the DVD commentary for that ep. That might be something else to get. I guess there were only four seasons of that show, even though it seemed it went on longer than that. Its prolly cause they did that whole thing where they would show some other show from January to March, then April through May would be all new eps, so it felt like another season.

What's up with "nay" going into disuse? Its a cool word. Much fancier sounding than plain old "no". And if someone asks you a Q, and you ansfer in the negatory, you can be all "Nay, I say!" and its like a little rhyme!

Oh, and I guess I'm all caught up on Television Without Pity recaps (or rather they're caught up with all the season finales for the shows I watch), so that's one less thing I have to entertain me. But they did mention that the Felicity website talks about how Elena survived! Anyways, for some reason, they've cut out the scenes explaining it. It turns out that right before Felicity goes to bed for the last time in the alternate reality, she suddenly realizes Elena will die. (One of her best friends, and she only realizes now that her trip to the future will kill her?) So she tells her to go to Duke instead of Columbia. Thus, at the wedding, she is surprised to see Elena and Tracy walk in. That's all fine and well, but as I've said before, if Elena didn't die, Ben wouldn't cheat on Felicity! Weak!

Oh, and lesson for the day for all you prospective fighter pilots out there: Never go to guns to prove a point. If you got a missile lock on the enemy, use it. While you're fooling around, his wingman is on your six tearing you a new one.

And what's up with some of the guys these hot (or at least decently attractive) chicks are going out with these days? Its like I see this couple at lunch and ask myself, what's she doing with him? And here I am, all by my lonesome. Surely I am a greater man than he! I mean, I'm the total package here! Clean cut looks, brains, a sense of humor, not to mention such great wit and charm! The only bad thing is that there isn't enough of me to go around!

So the Felicity finale was on last night. And now that I was able to get to a computer, I was able to check the forums about the ending! I was really confused about Elena still being alive (and with Tracy!). At first I suspected it was just a flashback to an ep I didn't remember, but it looks like everyone else is equally confused! I mean, they don't explain how she came back! Mebbe they were trying to go for a surprise thing: Felicity gets back to the normal world (and still ends up with Ben, thank goodness. I would've been pissed if she didn't. Oh geez, I am so gay.) and thinks her time travel spell didn't take effect. But then it turns out something changed for Elena to stay alive. I don't buy the fact that everything did happen, because how does that account for Noel living? Also, Ben wouldn't have cheated on her and would have no reason to apologize again! And the cheating would not have taken place because 1) if things followed that alternate world, Ben knows that Felicity gets mad at him for cheating, and therefore would not cheat and 2) if Elena doesn't die, Felicity doesn't get distant, and Ben doesn't hook up with Claire. Then there's the whole Elena/Trevor/Tracy thing that I'm not even going to get into. Argh! Its impossible to make sense of it!

I mean, I like the ending, because you know me, I love happy endings and everyone living and stuff. I just don't like it when things don't make sense! I should just be happy with it I guess.

Something around here smells interestingly delicious. Its making me hungry. I forgot to bring breakfast. I'll prolly have lunch at Junior's around 1130. Then I'll prolly pick up a card. There's just too many things to do today! Because I also have to get a haircut and do laundry. Mebbe its good I didn't get an answer about tonight. Yeah, right.

Getting back to my roots, I'll blather on about TV! )

These last few eps of Felicity are gonna drive me nuts. Sure, you may think going back in time to change a past mistake is cool. But changing one little thing can change everything!! Look at what Felicity did. She totally changed everyones lives. And its one thing to pull a Groundhog Day. Changing a day isn't too bad. But going back a year. Or several years? Just showing up a few minutes too early or late can have incredible consequences! How can you remember to do everything else right? Let's say you said something stupid or blew some great opportunity. But there are other things in your life that went good. And your family and friends are well off too. How can you be so sure that if you change that one thing, the impact is minimal? Just interacting differently can cause a cascade of little events that cause great changes. Kids may not be born. Peeps may not hook up. Or end up with someone else. And for better or worse, people may end up living. Or dying. It'd be one thing to see how things turn out and get to choose which timeline you want to follow. I mean, you can change that one thing, but it ends up screwing other things totally and you prefer the old way. And if you can't get back to that, that would totally suck.

And really, how can you interact with people knowing what you know, knowing the future and how things will turn out? Trying so hard to get them on one path may cause them to go down a totally different one. Its just too much pressure. I would totally freak if that happenned to me. But like I said, if I got to see how that turned out and got to choose, maybe it wouldn't be so bad. As long as I got to remember the other timeline. Mebbe its a part of me that thinks, why waste your time going through it if you're not going to remember it anyways? But then I guess you wouldn't remember, so you wouldn't know what you're missing out on. However, it seems like a waste, tossing something interesting away. Yeah, I realize this is a bunch of crazy ramblings. But whateva. I do what I want.

Happy Hollandaise! Murray Christmas to y'all!

Anyways, its been a long time since I wrote here. Well, what's been going on? Decided to take the rest of the week off. Was feeling eh Sunday night and I still had stuff to take care of before I headed to NY. Got my haircut and all the bills I needed to pay came in the mail so I didn't have to worry about anything asking for money while I was in NY. Tuesday night hung out at Krug's and played some GTA3 to kill time before LOTR. We ate at Don Pablo's then saw LOTR: Fellowship at 1201 at Parkway Pointe.
It was 12 of us, Me, Krug, Chris, Krug's friend Gary, Matt, Ben, Jeremy and his friend, Bill and Joseph, and Jason (Egger) and his sis. The movie was pretty good, I enjoyed it a lot even though I never read the book.

Was basically a layabout Wednesday. Went out and around, hung out with Krug, then stated home to catch the last DC and Felicity of the year. I like how the DC ep went. Dawson's with Jen now and Joey's all cool with it. Hopefully there'll be a P/J reunion? They do look like they're gonna hook up Pacey and Audrey though. A triangle perhaps? And Felicity and Ben are back together and before the break too! No teasing about "Will there be hope fore them?" since there won't be an ep for a few months.

Went back to NY Thursday. Most of my meals here have been Mickey D's or Pizza. Went to LI Saturday. Hit the mall with Albert. Dion, and Theresa. Shopped for presents. Got this fisher pricey dump-truck thingy for my godson Angelo. Then we went to the East buffet for dinner. Cool place, had sushi, dim sun, and sesame chicken.

Went into Manhattan on Monday. Went to confession at the church near the Manhattan mall then walked over to Mom's work to have lunch with her. Theresa actually rode the train into Manhattan with us, but she split off to go to the Museum of Natural History. Some cuties at church during the Midnight mass. They were all shy and checking me out! I am so great.

Went to NJ as usual Christmas day. Just sat around while the old folks sang karaoke and talked and stuff. There was a TV in the car so I was able to catch Gilmore Girls on the way home, which was cool. It was the X-mas ep, which was a pretty good ep.

Now you're all caught up!

Its been a pretty boring day. Woke up early (which for my schedule is 315pm!) Went to Publix, got a samich and other foodz. Got back, saw w00ter play the FFX demo, then went to L5P with Scott after I finished me samich and the BtVS ep where Tara's family comes to take her back. That part where she was all weepy and not wanting to go, then Willow asks her if she wants to stay and she sadly agrees and then they all stick up for her, how sweet is that? I still think Willow/Tara during the early parts of their relationship were the cutest couple on TV.

Got back, ended up missing the first half of DC, but I always tape it anyways. Interesting, it looks like they recut the ep (originally supposed to be their halloween ep) and fit it during the time period while Dawson and Jen were at that Film Festival. And next week, the rest of the gang finds out about Dawson and Jen's immortal liasons! Hopefully Joey will give up on Dawson and go back to Pacey! Hey, at the end of tonight's ep they made it sound like she was gonna stay over at the True Love II, so they're obviously back on friendly terms. And I didn't think Karen was as bad as people said (I didn't realize she's half flip!). And she's kinda cute, too.

Oh well, it looks like they're also heading for a Ben/Felicity reunion too. Which is great! And how hot does Felicity look with her new hair? She's off the hook! Speaking of mad cute girls, I've come to the realization Rory on Gilmore Girls is pretty hot. Appropriate, as she's supposed to play Lauren Graham's spawn, and Lauren Graham is totally babealicious.

And is the song playing in the background of the commerical to "Kate and Leopold" The Calling's latest single? It sounds pretty cool.

(yes, I realize from all that I've just written in this entry I must be a total taffy ass)

I was asked, "You know what's going to happen, why are you still watching?" Not that it was something I saw already, just that I read over the net was going to happen. Sure, I know what's coming, but it doesn't ruin it for me. Yeah, I know the outcome, but half of it is seeing it happen. Like tonight's DC, I knew the Flash (Dawson's dad) was going to die, but that didn't ruin the ep for me. I usually read the wildfeed previews for Buffy and Angel, and I still enjoy the eps regardless. I mean, its one thing to read about it, but its another to see it happen.

And what's with the Felicity previews saying Ben finds out about Felicity and Noel's little affair? No he didn't! He didn't even come close to figuring it out! And what's with all these shows where dudes come into a lot of money and offer to give it to chyx needing to pay for college?!

What's up with people on TV never having normal ceremonys? I mean, how many people really ask their friends to be ordained online so they can preside over their ceremony?

DC/Felicity: Where does this Dawson/Joey stuff come from? It seemed last year she was in love with Pacey (the better choice for her, IMO) and she was at a good place with Dawson. They were like good friends again. All of a sudden she's in love with him again?!

And what's up with Felicty? She wants her cake and to eat it too. It just frustrates me that they break up all these couples so arbitrarily on these shows. I guess normalcy is boring. Everyone wants to see conflict.
