X-Files- You know, I realize the old series mixed mythos eps with case of the week eps, but when they brought it back, they really should've changed the ratio up. Like people aren't tuning in for the case of the weeks, because that was fine when X-Files was new, but its been more than a decade, there are plenty of better sci fi shows out there now. If they were going to bother bring this show back, it should be for something that matters.
SVU- Seriously, what is with the writers this season? Like the Barba thing was ridiculous. Now this ep with Carisi's niece. I know they want to cause drama, but episodes like this are dangerous. Rapes are already underreported, especially on college campuses. Particularly date rape. We don't need TV eps that reinforce the belief that "Oh, you girls shouldn't be so quick to accuse, you could ruin a boy's life!" What about the victims?! You already got dudes thinking a lot of these accusations are false, why would you have a show that helps them justify their belief.
I mean, I know there's a lot more to last night's ep than that, but its not an idea that needs to continue to be put out there. Also, Stone and Olivia? No thanks!
The Magicians- Musical ep! Not as great as I'd hoped, but not bad. I think they have people on their cast who have singing chops, I just don't think they did a good job of showcasing that. Like Under Pressure was good, but it could've been way better. ( spoiler cut )
Riverdale- Heh, since Berlanti also did the upcoming "Love, Simon" movie, we have a clunky tie in this ep! ( spoiler cut )
