Parks and Rec- Heh, interesting. spoiler cut )

Person of Interest- Hmm, not the way I expected that ep to go. spoiler cut )

Agent Carter- Woah, weird, I almost didn't recognize Bridget Regan at first! spoiler cut )

Degrassi</>- That was kinda underwhelming. spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

Arrow- Ugh, why did they make Wildcat some youthful pretty boy MMA fighter? I get shows like Flash and Arrow and even Smallville are supposed to be early in the careers of these iconic superheroes, but Wildcat was always this kinda grizzled, experienced fighter in my head.

SVU- Wow, that was an effed up and depressing SVU. spoiler cut )

Criminal Minds- Given my feelings on bugs, this ep was kinda horrific to me. But also kinda hilarious! spoiler cut )

Had a fun 4 day weekend this past weekend. The poker crew was over for poker and a cookout. There were a lot of leftovers, I think I've had skirt steak for every meal since Sunday.

TV commentary:

There's too much TV on Monday nights. I know I said I'd quit Prison Break, but I was bored and curious, and will prolly still catch it until other stuff starts up. But between it, Gossip Girl, OTH, the Closer, and the Middleman, that's 6 hours of TV right there!

Oh, in Soul Calibur, scrapped Mitsu and Cervantes, and using the designs when making a custom Raph. But why scrap them? Well, decided to make some custom characters- Siltrana and Angelyn have always been my go-tos. Possibly because its fun coming up with designs for them, Sil is all about creating a cool blue form-fitting Dragon Armor design, and Angie is dark angel samurai girl, so its the black feathery wings and a cool samurai outfit. But since I gave them Cervantes and Mitsurugi's fighting styles, respectively, I didn't need two characters of the same type, so I scrapped the dudes even though there were free slots still available. I'm anal like that.

And I didn't realize how in-depth the custom characters were until I started making them. So you got the usual, hairstyles, face, skin color, eye color. But when selecting their voice, you can even adjust the pitch, and now body type is adjusted on a two axis grid of physique and musculature. So you can make a skinny puke, or you can make a big overgrown mass of muscles. Amusingly enough, breast size is tied with physique, i.e. higher physique=bigger. But yeah, that's a little too much you can adjust, if you ask me. But I'm putting down the formulas for them for future reference. Maybe I'll make a Linaria as well, and give her Siegfried's style.

When I was in Best Buy the other day, saw the Devil May Cry anime and thought, what the hell, I liked the game series why not check it out. Its a fun little show, but if you're looking to see Dante, Trish, Lady and the game world in general more fleshed out, you'll be a little disappointed. In any case, its a good looking anime with cool action. Though it was odd to see an ep where Lady and Trish were trying out clothes in a fancy boutique, as neither chick seemed like they're into that sort of thing from what you saw of them in the games.

Slowly getting through more of Tramps Like Us. As I said, a very, odd, almost disturbing situation they have set up, but I'm finding the relationship between Sumire and Momo quite endearing.

Monday night TV commentary:

The Middleman- I enjoyed this. I definitely liked the dialog (hey, I liked Gilmore Girls, so this Gilmoreian speed banter is fine with me). Heh, I think my favorite line was when Dub-Dub (which I find a more amusing nickname for Ms. Wendy Watson than "Dubby") was all, "But you said the l-word that one time!" Being emotionally closed off as I am, I'm always amused when people call it that "l-word". (I mean, I can say I love guns, or cars, or hamburgers, or strippers. But saying the "l-word" to another person?! Weird!)

I also loved all the pop culture references, if only because I can think I'm so great when I get them. There were more than a couple references that were "blink (wait, what's the hearing equivalent of blink?) and you'll miss them" sort of things. But I find it hilarious that there's this one secondary character whose only purpose seems to be to sit there and shout random pop culture references. It can be a little strange and silly at times (closer to Pushing Daisies strange than Doctor Who silly, I think), but overall, I thought it was a pretty cool show.
