Had a fun 4 day weekend this past weekend. The poker crew was over for poker and a cookout. There were a lot of leftovers, I think I've had skirt steak for every meal since Sunday.

TV commentary:

There's too much TV on Monday nights. I know I said I'd quit Prison Break, but I was bored and curious, and will prolly still catch it until other stuff starts up. But between it, Gossip Girl, OTH, the Closer, and the Middleman, that's 6 hours of TV right there!

On Prison Break, I'm amused how easy certain things have come. so Mikey's about to kill Gretchen, and she's all, "Sara's alive!" Apparently, Sara escaped last season, so for some reason the Company felt the best course of action was to fake her death and say they killed her. And just when you think one of the big things this season is trying to find her, nope, Sara's father's former aide takes them right to her. No mention of why Sara hasn't tried finding them or whatever.

Also, after all that planning Michael did to get out of Sona, all it apparently really takes is for the prisoners to riot and burn the place down. So yeah, Bellick, Sucre, and T-bag are out as well. T-bag apparently has a "blood feud" with Michael and is coming after him, and I'm amused how they claim T-bag is supposed to be as brilliant as Michael. And add cannibalism to the list of atrocities T-bag has committed, when he's double crossed by the coyotes taking him North. In his defense, the fellow stranded with him was trying to kill him and eat him first. But heh, when he gets across the border, he's got an upset stomach, so the people who find him are all, "What is it, bad mexican?" "Something like that!" Ha, that's so awful, its kinda funny.

But yeah, this season has turned into some sort of Ocean's Eleven type/Mission Impossible type deal. Apparently, Whistler (who's quickly gunned down in the first fifteen minutes, by the new Terminator-esque Company man, Gretchen also having been disposed of. Or so you're initially lead to believe) was a double agent, and he was working for Michael Rapaport (who's from Homeland Security) trying to take the company down. After Michael and Lincoln are re-arrested for various reasons, he's all, help us bring down the company, and you're free to go. Since that's a big task, they're given a hacker who's help they'll need, and a few men they can trust- Bellick, Sucre, and Mahone get pinched for various reasons as well, and given the same deal. So along with Sara, they're trying to steal some secret Company database "Scylla", which will somehow lead to the downfall of the Company.

Heh, I guess beggers can't be choosers, but what the hell does Bellick bring. I guess they need bodies, but still, they portray as this goof. Like when he and Sucre get across the border, he's all, "I told my mommy to pick me up, and there she is!" I'm also curious if Sucre, having finally gotten back in time to see his daughter and having Maricruz's sister turn him in will no longer be babbling about need to find her. Mahone's even more nuttier than usual after returning home to find the new Company guy (who is way scarier than Kellerman, Kim, or Gretchen) had slaughter his family, but the rest of the group (save for maybe Rapaport) don't know that yet. He already went into a fugue state on the mission in the second half of the hour, I wonder if he'll do it again, and when the others will find out what happened to his family.

Awesome ep of Gossip Girl last night. Blair and Chuck were definitely the stars. I mean, they got the funniest scenes, as well as the most dramatic ones, with them looking all angsty at each other. But alas, since Chuck can't bring himself to say the L word, B goes to her new Beau, "James".

Heh, at first she was using him just to make Chuck jealous, but then she apologizes and he's all, "Well, I've been lying to you too", and hilariously goes from an American accent to a British one all, "I'm secretly British!" That was hilarious! Turns out, he's really a Lord, so now B's all interested in him.

Somehow, Dan became a ladies man over the summer, and there's no explanation of how! We're just supposed to accept he can get with the ladies so easily? Meanwhile, S became Nate's beard so people would let her mope in peace and so he has a cover for his affair with an older woman played by Madchen Amick. And who's apparently related to James, if the previews are to be believed. Like how did they not end up seeing each other at the party then?

But I digress, S's grams is apparently all good now because of the cancer, and helps Dan try to get back Serena (although he tells S later he came there to try and confirm he made the right decision breaking up with her, like that's nice!) Of course, he comes up right as Serena is fake kissing Nate to make Madchen Amick jealous (didn't I see this scene in DC already?). And he's back to his judgy self, but quickly gets his come-uppance when two of the girls he's been seeing discover they've both been seeing him and dump their drinks on him. But looks like they might be getting back together.

But yeah, speaking of annoying Dan, he's trying to cut his dad off from giving him advice on how to deal with this, EVEN THOUGH HE WENT THROUGH THE EXACT SAME THING WITH SERENA'S MOM! And speaking of Rufus, his tour is almost over, and he references seeing Vanessa and her parents at one of the shows, but I heard this rumor that they're going to hook those two up. As in Vanessa and Rufus! That would be hilariously awful!

So OTH has become even more soapy- so it was Carrie who hit Dan, and she's taken him prisoner for revenge? WTF?! But anyways, when the ep started with Lucas married to Brooke, I quickly figured it was a dream sequence, because, 1) him picking her makes no sense whatsoever, and 2) they already jumped ahead four years between seasons, jumping another one would be a bit much. But looks like Peyton was his choice. Well, obviously, Brooke made no sense, and if he picked Lindsey, it'd be exactly the same as last season, with Peyton pining over an unavailable Lucas.

And wait, Mouth and Millicent leaving for Omaha, does that mean he's off the show?

I hope last night's Middleman was the season finale, and not the series finale, because that would be disappointing. But yeah, the mirror universe wasn't actually a mirror! Some people were opposites, like Pip, but they made it sound like the mirror Middleman was only jaded because of mirror Tyler's death, and mirror Lacey is basically still the same, only more angry because Mirror Dubby betrayed her. Or are they implying since Tyler was the Middleman in training in the mirror universe, he is indeed on his way to being evil in the real universe?

And not to sound gay or nothing, but what's with mirror Middleman being so cut? I mean, when he was Feyd in the Dune mini-series, he was pretty buff, but he was so cut when they showed him shirtless I wasn't sure if it was fake. But let's get back to the ladies. So mirror Lacey is the new Middleman in training in the mirror universe? I do like that outfit of hers. But since they seem to have the same attraction that regular Middleman and Lacey have, but not the obstacles against it, wouldn't all the screwing around interfere with work?

Oh, in Soul Calibur, scrapped Mitsu and Cervantes, and using the designs when making a custom Raph. But why scrap them? Well, decided to make some custom characters- Siltrana and Angelyn have always been my go-tos. Possibly because its fun coming up with designs for them, Sil is all about creating a cool blue form-fitting Dragon Armor design, and Angie is dark angel samurai girl, so its the black feathery wings and a cool samurai outfit. But since I gave them Cervantes and Mitsurugi's fighting styles, respectively, I didn't need two characters of the same type, so I scrapped the dudes even though there were free slots still available. I'm anal like that.

And I didn't realize how in-depth the custom characters were until I started making them. So you got the usual, hairstyles, face, skin color, eye color. But when selecting their voice, you can even adjust the pitch, and now body type is adjusted on a two axis grid of physique and musculature. So you can make a skinny puke, or you can make a big overgrown mass of muscles. Amusingly enough, breast size is tied with physique, i.e. higher physique=bigger. But yeah, that's a little too much you can adjust, if you ask me. But I'm putting down the formulas for them for future reference. Maybe I'll make a Linaria as well, and give her Siegfried's style.
