TV commentary:

Clone Wars- Wow, totally surprising end to the Maul/Deathwatch story arc. Say what you will about the prequel universe, but an episode with Palpatine dueling Maul and Opress while hundreds of Death Watch loyalists duke it out with the rebel ones led by Bo Katan (who turns out to be Satine's sister!!) is hmv('pretty cool'). I mean, tell me a 2 on 1 Sith duel all the while hundreds of "Boba Fetts" duking it out in the background isn't a fan boy's wet dream!

But yeah, did not expect them to kill of Satine (or the aforementioned fact that she and Bo Katan were sisters) or Opress. Well, its amusing that they had all this build up of Maul building his powerbase, and then Palpatine senses it all the way on Coruscant and is all, "Oh, eff this little bitch!" and just immediately take a shuttle to Mandalore and kick Maul and Opresses asses.

Young Justice- I was right, the runaways were Static Shock plus the ethnic Superfriends! I mean, I guess they just combined Black Vulcan and Static Shock, since they were both African Americans with electrical powers. But yeah, the Native American was indeed Apache Chief. But its no coincidence that the hispanic one's name is Eduardo "Ed" Dorado (as in El Dorado) and the Japanese girl is "Sam" (like Samurai).

Heh, on the way to or from dinner with the usual suspects last night, was talking with [livejournal.com profile] clevemire about the YJ episode and how Stephanie Brown was apparently in the ep (not that they mention her by name, I figured she was just random blond with lines, it wasn't until reviews I saw later that people were all, "OMG, Stefanie Brown!"). And he mentioned the Stephanie Brown conspiracy, and how all these DC folks have been wanting to use her, and the higher ups keep telling them "NO!" even their star writers who had carte blanche! Or like, just when she came back alive and was getting a juicy new storyline, the new 52 happened and she was no longer around. Apparently the theorists joked that they got wind of Stephanie Brown being in that YJ ep and that's why they pulled it.

TV commentary:

SVU- Ah, that one chick who always plays young Russian/Eastern European hookers. Well, except for in the Good Guys, when she was a lab tech or whatever. Or Criminal Minds, when she was actually the mastermind pretending to be an innocent victim. Or on Buffy as one of the other chyx who had a crush on the guy with the magic jacket. And on In Plain Sight, she was involved with the Russian mob, but not as a hooker. Nor was she one in that commercial where she has the umbrella, or the State Farm commercial. But she was one in Nikita. (Hey, she has a memorable look, so I remember when she's on shows I watch) I always thought she was kinda hot in that ultra-skinny Russian hooker kinda way.

And weird, with having Eames showing up. That's kinda a random person to have reprise their role, given she was on Criminal Intent, not SVU. Though I guess they did have Cutter show a bunch to do lawyer stuff after original L&O was canceled.

Criminal Minds- Hmm, interesting where they're going with Hotch and special lady friend. spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

Young Justice- So I was annoyed the new ep of Young Justice last Saturday was abruptly canceled and the series shelved until 2013. WTF? But then [livejournal.com profile] clevemire said the ep was up on itunes and through other means. (Though I checked today, and it doesn't look like the episode is available anymore, unless its in foreign itunes) So I did finally see it. Argh! So was the ep being available a fluke, and the rest won't be available until next year or whenever the hell Cartoon Network decides to put it back? Or will they be available to view "somehow" by hook or by crook? (I mean, cartoon network isn't showing it, but that doesn't mean its not showing in other countries, and thus "out there")

If this is the last ep to see in a while, argh! That's a totally frustrating cliffhanger to leave on! spoiler cut )

Fringe- So we're slowly starting to get more info on the years between the season finale and the time jump. spoiler cut )

Young Justice- Wow, as [livejournal.com profile] clevemire said, this show could really use some previouslies! Particularly since there was so much time that had passed between eps. spoiler cut )

Young Justice- Whaaatttt?!! spoiler cut )

Legend of Korra- Finally, we get more glimpses of the past! spoiler cut )

Thing I'm doing to entertain myself currently:

- Reading IDW's Infestation cross-over event.
- Watching Luther on Netflix.
- Finishing up getting almost everything for everyone in DW7: XL, so I can start on WO3 (which I just bought from the Playstation store and have currently downloading slowly to my PS3)

TV commentary:

Common Law- You know, I don't know why people are getting onto Wes for not moving on. Or rather, for still being in love with his ex-wife. Its not like he ever fell out of love with her- they made it clear in the pilot that after he quit being a lawyer to become a cop, she wanted a divorce because she didn't want to be a cop's wife and be constantly worrying about him.

spoiler cut )

Young Justice- So we had the time jump to 5 years later this season, but now apparently we've gotten a glimpse of the future 40 years from the current time line, where Impulse has come back from the future to try and prevent the desolation we see there. spoiler cut )

Legend of Korra- Okay, Ikki accidentally and nonchalantly mentioning to Asami that Korra likes Mako was kinda hilarious. Though was she totally oblivious to that fact?! spoiler cut )

Hmm, interesting bad-ass of the week, this week. I didn't know they had female A-10 pilots, that's totally cool.

So, I was downloading Bon Iver's cover of "I Can't Make You Love Me" from itunes, which made me think of "Skinny Love", which made me think of Birdy's version, which I like better than the original. Anyways, I already had that and "Shelter" on my ipod, but how was I unaware the rest of her eponymous album was awesome? I mean, it includes covers of some of my favorite songs, like Phoenix's "1901", The Naked and Famous' "Young Blood", and James Taylor's "Fire and Rain".

TV commentary:

Young Justice- Wait, were they implying Blue Beetle's friend is going to become Apache Chief from the Superfriends?

TV commentary:

Young Justice- Heh, we finally learn the fate of the rest of the team. spoiler cut )

Legend of Korra- Wait, Mako is voiced by Bud Bundy? That's so weird! Heh, and now the show has made me feel sorry for that a-hole Wolfbat guy. He may have been a cheating dick, but it would definitely suck to lose such an intrinsic part of you. spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

Avatar- You know, I feel a little bad, but I'm actually satisfied with the way the things turned out in this ep. spoiler cut )

Young Justice- Ah, I can't believe I didn't realize that. spoiler cut )

Nikita- Ah, I knew that guy in the beginning was someone. spoiler cut )

Supernatural- Is it me, or was the thing with Alpha vamp and Emily uncomfortably kinky? I mean, its obviously not sexual, because he wants her for her virgin blood. But it is creepy she calls him daddy and lives in a little girl's room even though she's 20. Which speaking of, I can understand her not knowing who the Kardashians are. But surely she'd know what a cellphone is even if she was kidnapped and kept prisoner since 2000. Well, I guess she would've been 8 at the time, and perhaps never saw a cellphone at that point in her life since she was a kid and they weren't as prevalent back then. Still, it seems kinda weird.

Then again, she was also a liar. Though why pretend you don't know what a cellphone is?

The Finder- Weird, either Walter and his brother are younger than I think, or that weather vane making lady is older than I think, because she does not seem to be old enough to be in the work force when Walter was a kid.

And what the?! spoiler cut )

Saw the Avengers yesterday with the usual suspects. Great movie, totally awesome. After, went to the ex-roomies for food and games. Lots of skirt steak and sausage and chicken and wot-not, tasty as usual. We were intending to try several new games, but we played the Game of Thrones strategy game, which took damn near 10 hours, I think. It was fun though. As I said, my strategic thinking sucks. I'm just no good at coming up with a big plan for winning. I'm too single minded and don't often think beyond the next battle. But I think I do okay on a tactical level.

boring game stuff )

Also tried the Locke and Key card game. Its a pretty fun game.

TV Commentary:

Young Justice- Interesting, were we supposed to know the son of that one chick M'gan based her human form on whom she gave a blood transfusion to was going to become Beast Boy? And what the, why the hell did Superboy dump MM? Because he'd always look young and handsome even though he was aging internally? Like the Alanna chick said, it can't be because she would get old while he stayed eternally young, making it all awkward, because MM is a shapeshifter, so she could look as young and hot as she wanted too! It does not make cents!

Legend of Korra- Heh, when Pema was giving love advice to Korra and she told the story of how Tenzin was in love with another woman and how it killed her to see her soul mate with the wrong person, all I thought was, you mean like how his mother was with the wrong guy?!

Also, I'm still kinda confused about pro-bending rules. So, you win a round if you "conquer" more territory within the time limits. Knocking other team members off does help, since that's less defenders. But normally you're just pushing all the team members back an area so that you're territory is at least past the half way mark. But apparently, if you knock all the opposing team members out of the ring in one single round, that's an automatic victory?

TV commentary:

Supernatural- I liked Felicia Day's character in this, but who doesn't like cute lesbian hacker girls? Hopefully they'll have her character back (and she doesn't meet the same fate as anyone who isn't Sam and Dean on this show)

Young Justice- Interesting, is the show going to be like this from now on? spoiler cut )

Legend of Korra- I thought I recognized Asami's voice, but apparently not. Well, I mean, she's voice by the mad cute Seychelle Gabriel, who coincidentally played Princess Yue in the live action movie. And I've seen her in Falling Skies, but I don't recall her sounding like that, so its not like I'm actually recognizing her voice, if you get what I mean.

TV commentary:

Young Justice- Heh, I'm surprised it took me so long to figure out who the villain was this ep. spoiler cut )

Fringe- One more Fringe comment. spoiler cut )

In Plain Sight- I'm surprised things turned out the way they did. spoiler cut )

Fairly Legal- Okay, I thought the whistle blower thing protected them once they got the evidence to the "authorities"? spoiler cut )

Oh, ultra-creepy comment of the day: So, I knew Hilary Duff look alike Kagney Lynn Karter has done "certain things", but apparently one of her latest works she does everything. (Well, almost everything you can have in a plotless scene, though it did have one thing I like I didn't realize was in there initially because I apparently skipped that part, and only learned about it later)

TV commentary:

Young Justice- How is Black Spider not considered a total Spiderman rip-off? And hmm, I'm still confused as to who the mole on the team is. spoiler cut )

Degrassi- The whole think with KC and his son was confusing. I would think if you gave your baby up for adoption, and the people went so far as to change its name (which, they can do that? I mean, its not like he and Jenna gave it up straight away, they struggled to take care of it before giving up. It just seems weird to me that they'd change the name after it had the other name for several months. Although I guess its a baby, it wouldn't know the diff), you'd think they wouldn't want the birth parents around, as it would lead to confusion. Plus, KC seems like he's on his way to pulling a Quinn.

I still find the fact they're going back to Imogen/Eli also weird. I mean, last year, didn't she convince him not to continue taking his pills, and then she started dressing and acting like Claire? Its just last year she seemed kinda crazy. Now this year, she's the normal one, tip-toeing around his bi-polar disorder. Whatever, the promos have revealed Eli's prolly going back to Claire, and Imogen and Fiona will start being a thing.
