Young Justice- Heh, we finally learn the fate of the rest of the team. So, Speedy-clone is still fighting crime, but he's a mess, and secretly stealing money from robbers he stops. But since this is a Saturday morning cartoon, he can't be a druggie like in the comics. (Dang, does that mean no attacking people with a cat in a drug induced haze?) Instead he's using that money to find the real Speedy, and is mad at everyone else for giving up.
Even more shocking, he apparently married Cheshire. And they have a daughter! Speaking of that family, Artemis is living with Kid Flash, prancing around in nothing but little jerseys. Apparently, they've retired from the superhero business to go to college and eff around.
As for the girls' father, apparently he's allied with a mysterious gravely voiced person. Is it perhaps Ted Kord? Because the golem was destroyed by a sonic beam fired from the guy's arm, which looked eerily similar to Blue Beetle's own arm weapon.
Legend of Korra- Wait, Mako is voiced by Bud Bundy? That's so weird! Heh, and now the show has made me feel sorry for that a-hole Wolfbat guy. He may have been a cheating dick, but it would definitely suck to lose such an intrinsic part of you. Heh, when Korra first overhears the conversation Hiroshi had on the phone I was thinking she did misunderstand things and he was just talking business. But when he actually says, "Oh, she's just imagining things, I was talking about business" and allows Lin to investigate his factories, I realized he indeed was an equalist.
Interesting, so Asami's mother was killed by a Triad firebender. So were Mako and Bolin's parents. Heh, given there are no koinky-dinks in stories, I wonder if its the same firebender? I mean, they're the TRIPLE-THREAT triads. Why make them specifically a firebender in both cases?
Speaking of firebenders, I wonder when we'll find out about what happened with Zuko and the rest of the fire nation folks, his family, Mai and Ty Lee, etc. Did he have any kids? I mean, we know about Aang, Katara, Toph, Sokka (albeit only that he's dead now, wonder if he married Suki?) I'm curious about Zuko. Heh, we almost found out about his mother, but just when whoever was going to tell the story (Katara?) someone else interrupted them.
Also interesting metal bending doesn't work on platinum? That's... odd. Its apparently too pure? And given platinum has a high melting point, I suppose it would be effective against fire benders too?
But I guess they did have to give metal benders some weakness. Or rather, give the equalists weapons that a metal bender couldn't easily eff up. One thing I've wondered, the whips that the metal benders use, are they actual coils built in to the armor that extend and retract, and metal benders are able to more easily control them? Or are they actually bending the metal in their armor into coils? I'm thinking its the latter, given the way Lin morphed her bracers into large blades. And cool, she has her mom's vibration detection powers.
It is getting a little ridiculous how much more effective non-benders are against benders. Granted, the Equalists were in giant mechs. But still, Lin and Korra had trouble with that one lieutenant guy with the dual shock sticks. But Asami wiped the floor with him? Granted, she had the element of surprise, but still!
