Owel, back in the ATL. The flight back on Saturday was okay. Actually got a seat in front as opposed to the back. I usually prefer getting the back because they get seated first (I'm not counting 1st class!) I can get on the plane, and get my bags in the overhead without worrying some idiot brought some oversized bag that takes up all the space. Anyways, I had flown airtran for thanksgiving, but was not able to pick my seats beforehand. I had gotten an aisle seat on the flight back, which was good. The window seat is overrated, what's the big deal about getting to look out the window? The aisle is preferable to me. You know, on account of my weak bladder. That, and if some crazy tries something I can more easily get out of my seat and snap his neck or jam something sharp in his throat or rip his jugular out with my teeth if need be. Okay, not really. What do you think, I'm some kind of nut? But I digress. The seat however, was for the front seat of the coach section, which I was thinking would gip me out of some underfloor space since there's usually that wall there. But strangely enough, no wall! So that was cool. And I got to get out of the plane quickly when it landed. It was disappointing though, that the flight to NY was full of prime hottie tail, and I end up sitting next to some old dude with kids, and then on the ride back, all the chicks were old or under 15! cliffV('What's up with that?!')

Anyways, the roomie picked me up, and when we got back I saw that attic antenna he ordered came in, alas, sans mounting bracket. But he had it set up by Sunday night, so now we get over-air HD. Holy crap, the difference is amazing. I mean, it is a huge and obvious improvement in picture quality! Of course, its only the local channels, but there's a lot of prime time TV watched on those channels anyways. And I wonder if the signal will still come in during bad weather days when the satellite is out? That would be very useful.

Work on Sunday was uneventful. Had dinner at St. Charles Deli Monday night, then hit circuit city to switch out HD-boxes. Watched HD Vegas and then saw Everwood on the PVR. I also caught the end of RAW. So they're doing the, "they don't know who the champion is because both parties did something to win at the exact same time" storyline? Benoit had Edge in the crossface, but Edge kind turned to the side so both of Benoit's shoulders were on the mat. There was of course, two refs out there, as one had been injured I think when HHH knocked Benoit off the top turnbuckle (it was a triple threat match) so he fell into him. Anyways, one ref saw Edge tap, which happened at the same time the other ref counted the 1-2-3 on Benoit! I'm amused that this situation has been done like a jillion times before, and they act like its something that's never happened before and they have to think of some way to resolve it. Why not do what you did last time? Or put something in the rule books for when this case happens again. I know, I know, rasslin' is scripted. But if they're gonna pretend that they're for real, at least put some more effort into it! On to Monday night TV babble:

Everwood: The Brown men are idiots )

And I had to take in my car for service. Turns out I had a leak in my power steering hose. No wonder it was so sluggish. But I suspected there was a problem with it. Though the bill for replacing that and fixing the alignment is pretty pricy. Dammit, with that and the X-mas shopping, its gonna be an expensive month. But hey, its my b-day Sunday at least.

Ah, the first day of break. Foolishly went to Lenox for lunch and bought Karaoke Revolution 3 and MGS3. Played KR3 while I did laundry. Under Pressure is impossible! Though when I was talking to [livejournal.com profile] psyched_out, I realize all the songs I tried that were difficult were the ones sung by multiple people. Under Pressure, A B C, Ain't No Mountain High Enough. The latter two seemed like they'd be easy enough, but the transitions seem impossible for a single person to do. I guess those are the songs meant to be done by multiple people.

Anyways, [livejournal.com profile] psyched_out came over for CD stuff, so that was cool, hadn't seen him in a while. Shot the bull, and then went to dinner with him and the roomie at the vortex. Surprisingly did not get the cardiac arrest, instead opting for the black and blue (cajun black spices and bleu cheese). It was delicious. Went to Lenox and Circuit City afterwards. All in all, a fun time.

Now for Monday night TV commentary:

Everwood: scandalous!! )

Back at work again. Just 5 days of this and it'll be Thanksgiving break. I'm recovering okay, still tired and stuffed up though. So hopefully it'll be an uneventful week. Of course, they're trying to get all that new cooling in place for those new racks, so who knows what sorts of craziness will occur in the next couple of days. The past few days have been pretty uneventful. Spent most of it napping or in a dayquil/nyquil induced haze. Did catch an ep of JoA during dinner between napping and sleeping. Incredibly sad ep.

The roomie made a big meatloaf and potatoes with gravy dinner Sat night. It was good. Speaking of, while watching SVU on NBC last night, saw that the 11pm news was gonna do a piece of these Thanksgiving soda things! Very disturbing flavors. Well, fruitcake flavored and cranberry flavored soda I can see, but Greenbean casserole, mashed potato and butter, and turkey and gravy sodas?! How can there be such a thing?! And apparently they're sold out! Who would drink such things?! Its sounds gross!

Other TV, short but sweet:

everwood: place of deaf piano teachers and doctors who have affairs with the wives of stroked husbands. )

giant scissors, girls who hate their dads and the dating rituals of women over 50 )

So, I voted. Big surprise, eh, given I'm Mr. Apathetic. Of course, the biggest motivator was voting against GA Amendment 1. I mean, with the way the roomie was talking about getting there at 6am, I was worried I'd be waiting in line for like a couple of hours! But I went there right after lunch @ 1300, and was in and out in less than five minutes. It took me longer to get and pay for my samich at publix.

Sunday night, had dinner with the roomie and [livejournal.com profile] psyched_out and his wife. We went to that Indian place above the highlander. We thought it would be something new, but it was just the same menu as Touch of India (and even some of the same people). But it was good. S+S regaled us with stories and showed us pics from their trip to Spain. It was getting late, so no chance to try out that Stare game they brought over.
