Nov. 30th, 2004 09:49 amOwel, back in the ATL. The flight back on Saturday was okay. Actually got a seat in front as opposed to the back. I usually prefer getting the back because they get seated first (I'm not counting 1st class!) I can get on the plane, and get my bags in the overhead without worrying some idiot brought some oversized bag that takes up all the space. Anyways, I had flown airtran for thanksgiving, but was not able to pick my seats beforehand. I had gotten an aisle seat on the flight back, which was good. The window seat is overrated, what's the big deal about getting to look out the window? The aisle is preferable to me. You know, on account of my weak bladder. That, and if some crazy tries something I can more easily get out of my seat and snap his neck or jam something sharp in his throat or rip his jugular out with my teeth if need be. Okay, not really. What do you think, I'm some kind of nut? But I digress. The seat however, was for the front seat of the coach section, which I was thinking would gip me out of some underfloor space since there's usually that wall there. But strangely enough, no wall! So that was cool. And I got to get out of the plane quickly when it landed. It was disappointing though, that the flight to NY was full of prime hottie tail, and I end up sitting next to some old dude with kids, and then on the ride back, all the chicks were old or under 15! cliffV('What's up with that?!')
Anyways, the roomie picked me up, and when we got back I saw that attic antenna he ordered came in, alas, sans mounting bracket. But he had it set up by Sunday night, so now we get over-air HD. Holy crap, the difference is amazing. I mean, it is a huge and obvious improvement in picture quality! Of course, its only the local channels, but there's a lot of prime time TV watched on those channels anyways. And I wonder if the signal will still come in during bad weather days when the satellite is out? That would be very useful.
Work on Sunday was uneventful. Had dinner at St. Charles Deli Monday night, then hit circuit city to switch out HD-boxes. Watched HD Vegas and then saw Everwood on the PVR. I also caught the end of RAW. So they're doing the, "they don't know who the champion is because both parties did something to win at the exact same time" storyline? Benoit had Edge in the crossface, but Edge kind turned to the side so both of Benoit's shoulders were on the mat. There was of course, two refs out there, as one had been injured I think when HHH knocked Benoit off the top turnbuckle (it was a triple threat match) so he fell into him. Anyways, one ref saw Edge tap, which happened at the same time the other ref counted the 1-2-3 on Benoit! I'm amused that this situation has been done like a jillion times before, and they act like its something that's never happened before and they have to think of some way to resolve it. Why not do what you did last time? Or put something in the rule books for when this case happens again. I know, I know, rasslin' is scripted. But if they're gonna pretend that they're for real, at least put some more effort into it! On to Monday night TV babble:
Ephram is an idiot. He's in a good place with Amy, and he has to fuck it up by trying to see Madison? At least he didn't find out she's preggers and his dad has been secretly paying her off to stay away. It is amusing that he misread Amy as doing the passive-aggressive thing some chyx do as her being actually mad at him! Ha! He like confesses when all she was worried about was Hannah. Speaking of, pretty sad story about her. Though I do like the friendship between her and Amy. The argument about not wanting to know since she couldn't really prepare for something like that anyways, so might as well just hope it doesn't happen and not let that worry you makes sense. As does not wanting to look at pics of her dad and be resentful that he passed her bad genes so as not to taint her memory of him. I wish they did have Amy at least admit that she partially wanted Hannah to find out so she herself could be prepared. You know she's all freaked out and worried about eventually losing her best friend. Oh, and getting back to Doc Brown. I can't believe he's making out with Amanda! With her vegetable husband in the next room. I guess it'll make next year all the more interesting!
And I had to take in my car for service. Turns out I had a leak in my power steering hose. No wonder it was so sluggish. But I suspected there was a problem with it. Though the bill for replacing that and fixing the alignment is pretty pricy. Dammit, with that and the X-mas shopping, its gonna be an expensive month. But hey, its my b-day Sunday at least.
