Drive- No Turning Back )

Heroes- .07% )

Owel, there's some major renovations coming up at work, and I basically have to move a crapload of stuff by the beginning of June, which sucks. Heh, I actually cut up a bunch of pieces of paper and wrote down all the connections I needed to move (since I have sort of free reign on where to put them) just so I could better visualize where I want everything to go. I mean, I have a "plan A" which is also the "lazy plan". Its a pretty straightforward move. But, since I'm moving things around anyways, I can make things more efficient, so I basically have all the scraps laid out on the dining room table right now moving them this way and that to figure out an optimum plan.

So, I saw the 2008 Lancer Evolution X (link goes to the Prototype X going around the car shows, but my sources tell me the prototype X is 99% what the actual Evo X will be like) has a dual clutch transmission mated to steering wheel paddle shifters. Righteous, I heartily approve! I think more sporty cars should have such things! I mean, its dumb to get a sporty car w/o a manual transmission. But while people are all, "manuals are not bad once you practice enough", it still seems like too much effort for driving. Why not avoid the whole hassle of having to hold down the clutch pedal while shifting? Even better when you don't even have to take your hands off the wheel to do the shifting. Its the "twenty-one" century, as a certain asian fellow used to say! Why not have the performance of a manual, but the ease of an automatic!?

Speaking of cars, interesting ep of Drive tonight. spoilers within )

Went to the Varsity for tonight, hadn't been there in a while, actually. It was nice to have a couple of cheeseburgers and chili-dogs, very filling.

Watched Drive tonight. Despite the hinky sounding premise (a secret, underground road race?), I think it actually works, the story is compelling so far. Mal's story (I guess his name is Tully here) is the most interesting one. And heh, his wife is played by Fred. And weird, the cop talking to him in the beginning is Early (aka ADA Robinette from the earlier L&O eps). I just saw that ep of Firefly the other day! The next compelling character I think is Melanie Lynskey's. I guess most people know her from Heavenly Creatures with Kate Winslet, but having not seen that, I always think of her as the not so evil stepsister from Ever After. (I know, I saw Ever After, I'm so lame!) The other racers definitely seem to have monetary reasons for entering. And Mal and Invisigoth (you, know, from that one X-Files ep? I know she's been in tons of other stuff) have an obvious reason for entering. But Wendy? What's her story? more spoilerish talk, under the cut )

Argh, I forgot to look at the credits of Entourage to see who the blonde girl who wasn't Busy Phillips that Turtle and Drama were trying to get with. At first, I thought it was like AJ Cook, but she'd be too busy with Criminal Minds, I guess. Ah, imdb shows its the hooker chick Ronnie found for that Max guy on VM. And wait, the character Cameron Richardson was playing, wasn't she like a waitress or coat check girl or something last season?

Anyways, for giggles and grins, I've been going back through my journal and tagging old posts. Jeez, you know I've been posting in this thing for almost six years now. I checked, and its like over 2000 posts! I kinda got tired of tagging after getting through 2002 though. Heh, I was looking through the life tagged entries. What's under the life tag? I guess mostly stuff actually having to do with going out and doing stuff with people. Geez, we sure used to go to trivia a lot! I'm amused how certain things have changed just in these six years! Marriages, break-ups, geographical re-locations. Heh, I'm also amused to see comments on people who were like nobodies years ago but are now big, like Kate Bosworth and Scarlett Johansson. Oh, and who could forget these crazy happenings?
