TV commentary:

Cleveland Show- This episode annoyed me a little. So Blaine from Glee is playing a Jewish guy who pretends to be Christian to be in that youth choir thing to get with hot Christian girl, as does Cleveland Jr. the atheist. And then when she finds out their lies, instead of being offended, she's turned on, and wants both of them to do her, and they're like "no way!" It does not make cents!

Gossip Girl- Dammit, I don't want to even talk about how there's trouble in paradise. So I'll just talk about the big reveal. spoiler cut )

Make It or Break It- Okay, I wanted to kinda laugh at Steve when Payson was talking about her back injury from way back when and he's all, "this is different, there's no recovering from this surgery!" Granted, open-heart surgery is way too invasive for Lauren to recover in time. But Payson breaking her back and miraculously having Counselor Troy fix her up so she could compete in OLYMPIC level gymnastics is well, a miracle! Her career should have been over. At least they stayed real and when Emily got preggers, she was done. Because crazy surgeries are one thing, but no way are you going back into competitive gymnastics after having a baby!

Speaking of preggers... spoiler cut )

Hawaii Five-O- Heh, so were they always going to do this Hawaii Five-O/NCIS:LA crossover, or was this because the guy who plays McGarrett is in rehab? Do they think the rest of the cast, sans Steve can carry an ep without some crazy stunt?

Eureka- I still disbelieve! spoiler cut )

The funk of 40,000 years? How old is that evil, it like even predates ancient civilization! It makes me think of great old ones, which don't really evoke fear in me, but hatred. Like the only thing I despise as much as great old ones are the true fae. Bunch of monstrous freaks!

Hart of Dixie- Argh!! Why would you do that, show!? spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

Glee- The episode was called "Choke", and they pretty much telegraphed from all the promos that Rach was going to mess up her addition, so to me it was all the more uncomfortable because you saw it coming. Even though its total BS that she would mess DROMP up. In any case, I hate seeing Rachel cry, she looks like a kicked puppy, it makes me wanna punch whoever made her sad. I do not need that image of Rachel crying and begging Whoopi Goldberg to give her another chance. (Heh, seriously, why would one gif that? Its like that scene with Adam Sandler on the boat near the end of 50 First Dates! "You're sick, you're sick! Why would you do that!")

You know, sometimes I think this show tries too hard to "have a message" instead of just telling a story. While I applaud them for teaching girls to stick up for themselves and get out of abusive relationships, but to some people it can feel like manufactured drama trying to illicit specific emotions out of the audience. And what the shit, Bieste actually went back to Cooter?! I realize its realistic, but this is a fucking TV show. It does not need to be so damn heavy! Because you have that, Rachel tanking her audition, Puck failing his final and prolly not graduating. Its not going to make people think, "OMG, drama, this is so compelling!" Its just going to piss people off! This show is called "Glee", not "Depressing Fucking Shit"!

Like I don't even mind the Rachel messing up, because obviously she'll get another chance before the end of the season. Most likely thanks to something Finn does, because god forbid a girl accomplish something on her own on this show! Girls can't solve problems on their own, they need a shining knight to save them! Like Finn singing a song so Santana is comfortable with her sexuality, or Teen Jesus accidentally touching Quinn with his boner so she can feel a guy will still want her even though she's a cripple now. I mean, the promos had Finn yelling at Quinn to "stand up" at prom! If he manages to heal her paralysis and get her to walk again by shouting at her, I'm going to be so pissed! Seriously, what the frick!

But I digress, the show doesn't need to be so deep and heavy. Remember when all they had to worry about was the competition stealing their set list and making it to nationals? I don't mind them having an after-school special type episode once a season. But in the past few episodes, they've had Karofsky bullied so bad after being outed that he almost killed himself, Quinn's in a wheelchair after texting and driving, Sue's baby might have developmental problems, and now Bieste's in an abusive relationship? Are they even going to address this again, or will that just be a thing, her husband possibly smacks her around. Also, way to ruin a beautiful rendition of FatM's "Shake It Out". The girls are singing to Shannon about being all brave, when in reality she went back to Cooter. I'm supposed to feel good about the song, not friggin depressed.

But hey, Cell Block Tango was sexy. And hey, they didn't cut Tina's lines like I was expecting, so that's cool. But they ended up cutting Sugar's which wasn't.
