So, analyzing The RE trailer I posted about yesterday, that spec ops team has to be playable. Particularly since they have the same number of members as the Wolfpack, and are roughly analogues of each of them.

Like the USS team, there's six members- generic looking white dude leader guy, black science dude, tattoo-ed backwards sunglasses wearing biker dude, hot chick with the knife, and I may be imagining this since the accents got kinda dodgy there, Southern hot chick sniper, and British machine gunner chick?

-plain leader dude is obviously Lupo's counterpart, being a leader type. Additionally, he carries a different primary than the rest of his squad, just like she does. The majority of USS and Spec Ops are carrying M4 carbine types (well, just Vector, Bertha, Four Eyes, tattoo guy, and science guy), whereas he's using a SCAR, while Lupo is using a G36C. Obviously, there are anachronisms here, given this game is supposed to take place in '98, before the SCAR existed.

-knife girl is Vector's counterpart, being a bad-ass melee fighter type, the way she took out that Licker hand to hand. Oddly enough, despite her CQC leaning, she's actually carrying a full sized M16 type rifle with the standard rigid stock and 20 inch barrel.

-sniper chick is Spectre's analogue on the Spec Ops team, obviously. Given the vision enhancements on Spectre's helmet, he's using a G3 with iron sights and no scope. Since sniper girl has no such gear, she's using a scoped AR-type rifle. It doesn't have a full length picatinny rail across the top, so its not a M110 SASS (which didn't exist yet anyways), but its something similar.

-not sure who's counterpart machine gun girl is. At first I thought she was carrying a SAW, but on further review, it looks like she's carrying a MK48. The stock is all wrong though, and again, another anachronism since it didn't exist back in '98. I guess given her "heavy weapon" leaning she could be Beltway's counterpart. For his part, he's carrying some sort of shotgun. In the promotional images, his shotgun has the heatshield of the Mossberg M590, but the foregrip of a Remington 870. In the video, its even harder to tell, because at one part, the foregrip looks like that of an M4 Super 90, but at another, that of a mossberg.

-tattoo guy could also be beltway's rival, but we don't see anything in the trailer that indicates his specialty. He does tussle with Bertha though. He doesn't look like a medic.

-science guy seems like he would be Four Eye's counterpart. They're both seen getting samples from the BOWs.

In any case, if they do end up being alternate PCs, I wonder if they'll have a different set of perks, given they don't have the high tech gear of Umbrella- no cloaking devices, no way to call BOWs, etc.

So, I actually finished the Subject 16 stuff last night on AC:B. I was kinda pissed trying to find the subject 16 glyph in the Castel Santa Angelo, because I scaled the whole damn thing only to find it was relatively close to the bottom. I figured since the Colosseum one was so high, it would be too. But I guess I have all the non-multi player trophies for the game proper. The only trophies I have left are from the Davinci disappearance, but that's completing that and getting 100% sync in that and the normal game. Well, that and "beating up the 5 thirsty harlequins" whatever those are.

Actually, there was "cool kill" trophy left I got this past weekend. It was steal 5 horses from their riders all the while staying on horseback. At first, I thought this meant there was some way to hijack horses whilst already on horseback, but I couldn't figure out how to do that. But, it just meant do 5 horse to horse assassinations in a row without ever getting off horseback, which is easy enough.

And they've named the 6 Spec Ops peeps in Operation: Raccoon City. Tweed, Dee-Ay, Harley, Willow, Shona, and Party Girl. I assume the first three are the dudes, and the last are the chyx? I mean, Party Girl is definitely a chick. But the latter two sound the most feminine after that. I guess Harley could be a girl, but I actually assume that's the tattoo-ed biker looking guy, hence the name Harley. I have no idea which name maps to who other than that though.

TV commentary:

Hey, I was two for two in terms of TV mysteries this past weekend.

Sherlock- spoiler cut )

Castle- Hey, its always nice to see Mindy O'Dell still guesting as random hot lady in stuff. spoiler cut )

I knew Joyful Noise was in theater's soon, but I didn't realize it was this Friday. That being the case, the soundtrack dropped today. Its okay, though I like the more contemporary/pop songs on it as opposed to the gospel stuff:

There's the Higher medley, which is obviously a medley of songs, including Usher classic "Yeah!" and Chris Brown's "Forever", with the lyrics converted to be more religious. Though honestly, that just made me think of a certain movie that the same thing more than a decade ago. I am of course referring to the best scene in Sister Act 2:

Whatever, that movie was awesome.

Keke Palmer does MJ's "Man in the Mirror", though Glee did that song for sectionals last month. And then there's "Maybe I'm Amazed" by Paul Mccartney, performed as a duet by Keke Palmer and Jeremy Jordan. If there are any other non-Gospel songs on this soundtrack, I don't recognize them. But yeah, this is on me to see list.
