I see a red door
Aug. 1st, 2008 11:45 amI had a hankering for some sushi and nachos today, but alas since the mexican place at the student center has been closed for renovations, couldn't do that. I thought of just getting spicy tuna rolls then for lunch, but I had a salmon salad with bleu cheese dressing with a seared ahi tuna appetizer at Bonehead's for dinner last night, and that's too much fish in a 24 hour period. So, I got a bacon double cheeseburger from BK and an 8 piece chick-fil-a nuggets from the food court. Or I thought it was an 8 piece. They had the rows reversed, so I actually got a 12 piece. Only it wasn't actually a 12 piece either, because I had eaten 3 out of the box already, and was surprised to see there were still 12 pieces in there. Guess I'm having a big lunch.
Owel, you know what I'd like to try? Like spicy tuna rolls with some nachos bel grande. When I do the sushi and nachos thing, the nachos only have cheese on them. I've never done sushi and nachos where the nachos have like beef, beans, sour cream, guac, and salsa in addition to the cheese. I don't think it will work as well. And to re-iterate, there's no dipping of sushi in nacho cheese, or tortilla chips in wasabi-soy paste, because that would be just gross. They're two separate tastes that go great together, just not at the same time.
I would think it takes less than five minutes to walk from work to the student center, but timing it to the music on my mp3 player, it took a playing of Chicago's "Old Days" and The Rolling Stones' "Paint it Black" to get there, and Abba's "Super Trouper" and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit" to get back, and both those combos are more than five minutes. But it doesn't seem that long. Although I guess that's also between the NOC and the food court, not between the outside of Rich and the Student Center.

I am what you never want to say
Aug. 1st, 2008 01:50 pmSo I saw this trailer for Takashi Miike's "Sukiyaki Western Django":
I'm strangely intrigued. I've always been fascinated with the melding of the Western (as in cowboy, not as in whitey-world) and Samurai genres, (tell me wandering the land, earning your keep through skill with gun and sword isn't totally cool) and this is so out there and crazy that I'm fascinated. Sure its full of anachronisms and Tarantino talking goofily and Japanese folks speaking in Western accents, but its kinda cool all the same.
Speaking of Tarantino though, I enjoy his movies, but is it me, or can he be kinda full of himself?!

Just watched the fourth season finale of Doctor Who. It was both awesome and so sad.
