TV commentary:

iZombie- You know, sometimes I forget this is a Rob Thomas show (even though it has all his hallmarks and a shared cast), which in turn makes me forget my favorite part of his shows, the consistent recurring cast. Like I said with Veronica Mars, it makes the universe seem real when they run into the same people again, instead of having totally different people whom we never see again.

Of course, it was easier to remember in VM, particularly the first two seasons, since it was HS, so its easy to see the recurring characters because many of them are classmates of Veronica. But here, like these past few eps, I'm totally missing people have been on this show before until they point it out. Like this ep, I didn't realize frat boy was from a previous ep until he recognized Liv.

But wow, its crazy how everything's connecting. So the case of the week ends up connecting to the zombie thing at several points. Keith Mars' character off handedly mentions about how one of the guys he tried to co-opt into becoming a CI freaking out about working for zombies. Which he laughs off, but of course Liv finds it troubling. And then in the end, Liv and Clive figure the CotW out, but not before Keith does. He figures it was his CI who killed this week's victim, and also realizes its because the guy had been playing him and was basically turning in his competition so he could continue to sell his own stuff. (or rather, because he was the guy working for zombies and is thus doesn't really have a choice)

He arrests him, unfortunately the murderer was being visited by Blaine's big thug with the eye patch at the time, collecting this week's take. So the guy knocks him out, and snaps the murderer in half like a twig. And Clive and Liv find Keith, and it looks all suspicious, but I do think they believe he didn't kill the murderer, though Clive is not pleased about Keith's secret CI program. This leads to an argument, where Keith makes veiled threats about how other cops might not like Clive's boy scout attitude and one day he might just find back up arriving too late.

Which is just one more reason for Clive to take Dale's suggestion to join the FBI since she's going back to Virginia after the Chaos Killer case, and she wouldn't be averse to him joining her. So he fills out the app, and she sees it, but doesn't have time to bask in it because the lady running the pet grooming place Major had gone to recognizes Minor form the paper and shows up at the police station to point the finger at him.

Heh, which totally throws a wrench in his plans for Vaughn. So yeah, after Major comes to after Ravi injects him last ep, he does manage to explain everything to Ravi. Ravi wants to tell Liv, but Major warns him what a crusader Liv is, and if she finds out about Vaughn, she'll go straight at him, which could get her killed. Alas, Liv, freaking out about Drake, tries to confront Mr Boss and beats up one of his men, which she tells Ravi. So unfortunately, the fact that Liv was wanting to butt heads with Seattle's biggest mobster causes him to keep mum lest she do the same thing with Vaughn.

Anyways, everyone still thinks Blaine is faking the amnesia, though Don E uses his boss' memory loss to trick him and take over the business. Ravi explains this complication with the cure. Since Major is riding on the over positive brain from a few eps ago that they apparently had some of left over, he's not worried. He thinks Hope only died because she was a rat, and that a human would prolly be fine.

But they decide to kill two birds with one stone- Major will scratch Vaughn, and hold the cure over his head. If it kills him, good. If it doesn't, and he gets amnesia, its good for them. Unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, since it seems like Vaughn got suspicious and was going to take out Major), Bozzio shows up at Max Rager with a team of Feebs to arrest Major. So that can't be good!

Faking It- You know, since I first saw Mckaley Miller on Hart of Dixie where she was just a kid, it totally weirds me out that she's apparently a love interest for Liam. I mean, that show started five years ago, so I guess age wise, it actually matches, but it still seems like he's too old for her. But ha, he's back into Karma and kisses her before her set all, if you feel this way too, talk to me after your set. And then she ends up blowing him off! HA! Smell you later Liam. Like really, who the fuck wants Kiam? As I said before, if you want to see that sort of thing, watch another freaking show!

I mean, technically, she left because her father had a heart attack, and obviously that is way more important. But I'd like to think she wouldn't have gone to see Liam anyways.

Though it sucks for Karma's dad to have a heart attack, it may pave the way for Karmy to be friends again. So Shane ends up tanking he and Karma's performance, because the idiot got tricked by the competition. Some guy acts all interested in him and tells him he should be front man, so of course Shane falls for the ego stroking. He tries to make the music all about him, when it was Karma who wanted to do this stuff in the first place because music was the only thing keeping her from thinking about her and Amy not being friends anymore. So she lambasts him on not being a true friend, and tells him how true friends are there for you no matter what. And who ends up being there for Karma at the hospital? Amy!

Amy was previously busy with Lauren's documentary (her own project to keep her mind off Karma) Felix also shows up from rehab, so Amy enlists him as another camera man. Unfortunately, the project does not go well, because Amy wants Lauren to be an intersex icon, a leader. And its like Amy, you can't force someone to do that! Lauren understandably freaks because she spent most of her life trying to be what she thinks is "normal" and doesn't want to be that intersex girl. But, she did get to talk to another intersex person, who gives her some stuff to contemplate. They asked Lauren about normalcy, and it freaked Lauren out because she doesn't know what normal is supposed to be.

Anyways, Amy doesn't understand why Lauren doesn't want to be a leader of her community and do something to really help people, but Lauren fires back that she doesn't see Amy trying to be an example to whatever she is. Amy then vents to Felix how she doesn't understand why Lauren doesn't open up, but then he mentions how she won't talk about the Karma thing. But, Amy explains how the reason she's been keeping mum is because talking about it makes their breakup real.

But like I said, that's when she gets the call about Karma's dad and goes to Karma.

Hmm, next week, looks like Lauren and Amy are trying to get their parents back together? And Karma wants to help. But Lauren doesn't want the Karmy drama screwing things up. And I have to say, one of my favorite new developments of this season is how its now Lauren and Karma fighting over Amy. Because honestly, who cares about the other characters?
