Weird fact I learned today: Melissa and Jenny Mccarthy are actually related? (Cousins, apparently) Was this common knowledge? Of course, I had no idea Kate and Oliver Hudson were brother and sister and didn't piece the LaPaglias were brothers even though its frickin' obvious from looking at them. (I know there was one more pair of famous siblings that its ridiculous I didn't realize they were related even though it was obvious, but they're not coming to mind.)

Things that make me sad: Looking at the Glee tag on tumblr and seeing all the people freaking out that there's no new Glee on tonight, even though all the commercials and promos since last week said the next ep was on the 31st. I dunno, I've said this before, and maybe its because I watch TV more religiously than the average person, but if its a show that you are a big enough fan of that you curse and scream that its not on, how the frick do you not know its schedule?! I mean, if its something that you're going to be all, "Dammit, I was looking forward to this all day!" about, I would think you'd make sure you know its schedule inside and out!

It makes me as sad as all those idiots tweeting why Wikipedia was down last week, when it said why it was down ON THE FRIGGIN SPLASH PAGE!

TV commentary:

Being Human- So I caught the marathon last week during MLK, and it piqued my interest. As if I don't watch enough shows with vampires and werewolves and other supernatural creatures. I didn't think I was one of those people. I guess I don't watch Grimm out of protest about it being up against Fringe. Much like I don't watch that one Tim Allen show with him and Nancy Travis as the parents of young Eloise Hawking, Loretta Mcready from Justified/Megan Mullally's daughter on Party Down, and epileptic jockey chick from that one ep of Royal Pains because its up against Glee. I don't know why I feel the need to boycott this show, its not like I don't watch other shows at the same time as Glee- I still watch NCIS, and will watch Cougar Town when its back on (neither live, of course).

But I digress, between this and Lost Girl, as if I didn't have enough to watch on Monday nights!

Lost Girl- So, this is apparently an old (well by a couple of years) Canadian show that SyFy is starting to show. Its an interesting enough show about a hot succubus with a teenage sidekick (so is this was Tasha was doing while she was with a new foster family/in juvie on Life Unexpected?), so its not like I'm not going to check it out. The pilot was okay (and heh, its definitely a Canadian show, what with Emmanuelle Vaugier showing up) but the upcoming previews seem intriguing enough. Though I haven't looked it up, is this show still going on in Canada, or are there just a limited number of eps and once SyFy burns through all of them, that's all?

Oh, and heh, when Trick was all in last night's ep, "You were born from two fey" to Bo, I'm guessing one of her parents is dark and one light?

There's a third season of Lost Girl in the works, but I'm not sure how fast SyFy will catch up. But man, though I found the main girl super hot in the pilot, in the second episode, her nose just seems enormous sometimes. She's still quite cute even when her nose looks big, but it's distracting. It almost looks like a prosthetic.

Incidentally, they spell it Fae on the show. I thought your spelling was hilarious at first, before learning it does also mean fairy-like in the magical sense (but it totally also does mean fairy-like in the gay sense).

But Being Human, I'm kinda curious how the US show deviates from the original, but I don't honestly remember enough about the show to say for sure what the hell went on. But if it rolls like the UK one, get ready for lots of werewolf screaming, seemingly dozens of switches between "I'm gonna be a good person" and "wooo drinking blood rules!"

Heh, what is with you and noses?! Bo's nose seems fine to me, I haven't noticed it look "enormous". I mean, sidekick girl and doctor chick have more striking noses compared to her!

From what I can tell, apparently while there are slight differences between the first seasons of the US and UK versions (like in the US one, ghost girl's boyfriend accidentally killed her when she lost her engagement ring down the drain, and apparently in the UK version its because he found her thong underwear?), overall they're more or less the same. But apparently the second season of the US one is starting to deviate a bunch. Like they added Sierra from Dollhouse as a character that didn't exist in the UK version, as far as I can tell.
