So what defines a geek? Saw this article on
The 10 most badass geeks from film and TV. As an aside, I saw this article off
Gorilla Mask, and while the icon is supposed to be of Dexter Morgan, I actually thought it was of Mclovin. Which in turn reminds me of two things I heard/saw today. One, my sources tell me that Dexter is dating Deb in real life? People who play siblings on TV dating in real life. cliffv('What's up with that?!') Emily Van Camp did it twice, once with Bright (Che to those who watched the OC and not Everwood) and then with one of her half-brothers on "Brothers and Sisters".
And two, there's that
Give to the Mclovin' Fund off Funny or Die. Link goes to filmdrunk's link to it, as they mention the things about the clip that demonstrate that Kristen Bell is probably tiny. I mean, I know she's short but recently I've been seeing articles that point to her being just a smidge over being a midget. (I would also qualify another Kristen, Kristen Chenoweth, as right there on the border of midgets and normal people) Like
here, where she's with her Forgetting Sarah Marshall costar, Mila Kunis. Now, Mila Kunis is short herself, but that pic she makes Kristen Bell look small comparatively! And speaking of short chicks having vids off Funny or Die, there was that
Hayden Panettiere sexual harassment PSA, both it and the Mclovin' fun were only mildly amusing, not exactly funny. So does that mean they have to die?
But I digress, getting to the 10 baddest ass geeks thing, while I would agree some of those people have geeky interests, I wouldn't exactly refer to all of them as geeks. Hiro, Beast, Peter Parker, Gil Grisom, I can see. But while Clarence Worley from True Romance was all into comics and old kung fu movies, I didn't think he was that geeky. Then again, he did work at a comic book store and was so pathetic his boss hired a hooker for him. But I don't see Neo or Dexter Morgan as all that geeky. And then the comments to the article had some people arguing for the inclusion of the Mcmanus brothers from the Boondock Saints. See, I don't neccesarily equate being really smart with being geeky. The list included Anakin Skywalker just because he built C-3PO and was a genius at starcraft design. Now I would definitely call him a whiny little bitch, but not a geek!
And how can one not like shooting a gun? Its the most awesome thing evar. I mean, not even squeezing off a few rounds in a safe and controlled environment? Hippie pussies.
Tuesday TV commentary:
( The Riches )Oh, and a few comments I forgot to make on Monday's Samantha Who. I had a big crush on Christina Applegate back in the day, and then kinda cooled on her. But I think she's looking pretty cute again on Samatha Who, especially in the short, curly bob she sports as present-day good Sam, which is infinitely superior to the long, straight hair of pre-amnesia Bad sam.
( A few more comments, under the cut )Oh, and what's up with all the pervs being all egg-cited about Hermoine turning 18 today (or rather yesterday, you know what I mean)?
