Grease Live!- Weird, what's with the extra songs? Didn't know if some of those were from the original production that weren't in the movie. Also odd, that Patty Simcox and Eugene have slightly bigger roles. Like during the Hand Jive, she was dancing with him instead of Tom. And Eugene helping the T-Birds out to win the big race by installing a sort of nitrous system thing and being made a T-Bird.

Speaking of the Hand Jive, instead of Sandy being chased off by some drunk guy, she was scared to be on camera because she lied to her parents about going to the dance and didn't want to get caught. Oh, also, since Julianne Hough is not Australian, instead of making her Australian, she's from Utah (although I guess the original production Sandy wasn't Aussie there either).

Also, in the big race, instead of Kenickie accidentally getting hit in the head with the car door by Putzie, Kenickie was freaking out about the race, so Danny purposely hits him with the door so he can save face. Danny is all, "Oh, Kenickie is no chicken! He wants to race, but is concussed, so I'll have to take over!"

One thing annoying about the show was the sound production- in the bigger group numbers, I swear the music drowned out some of the singers so you couldn't hear what they were saying.

Also, something went weird with the recording I was watching- the audio cut off during part of Hand Jive, and then it somehow cut back to Greased Lightning, and then it turned into commercials, and came back part way through Hopelessly Devoted to You.

Galavant- Hey, at least this ended in a satisfying way if this was the series finale! spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

Galavant- The ratings have been pretty terrible this season, so I'm guessing that sadly there will be no third season. I can only hope they at least don't end on a cliffhanger like last time. But okay, tonight's eps were pretty hilarious, what with the Princess Bride, Notting Hill, and Grease references. And seriously, how hot is Madalena? spoiler cut )

Back in the ATL! [livejournal.com profile] clevemire and the ex-roomie picked me up from the airport, and we had dinner at Eats since it was on the way. Played some Zombicide, it was pretty fun. But argh, K had mentioned that the Chicago people had sent me a card to his address since I used to live there and I guess they never updated their address books for me.

Sunday, hit Macy's since I had a gift card. Well, technically it was my dad's, but I traded the Bloomingdale's gift card I got, since I don't know where the nearest Bloomies is around here, but Macy's is close by. The shorts and PJs I took up north were getting holey, so I needed to replace them. I forgot since its the end of the holiday season, everything's discounted. So I figured I'd be using $70 of the card, but only ended up using only $50.

TV commentary:

Galavant- I'm still surprised this is back. As I said last year, I had assumed it was a one shot. But its cool that its back. spoiler cut )

Galavant- Argh, I thought this show was supposed to be a mini-series, when it was done it was done! How am I supposed to quit you now, show? spoiler cut )

TV commentary:

Galavant- Totally forgot this started last night. I was a little skeptical of the show at first, even though you would think its my kinda thing, medieval fantasy/comedy musical? But I wasn't sold on the few seconds of music I had heard in the commercials. But, having watched the show, the songs sound better in their entirety.

I liked it, the songs are catchy and clever, and its pretty funny. I like Madalena (and, ooh, she's Aussie, so she's not faking the accent), not that Isabella isn't cute either. Which speaking of, apparently she was the girl who was kidnapped along with Alexis on Castle? She looks totally different!

But yeah, Lassie from Psych is the villain, Vinnie Jones is his top thug (heh, its amusing to see him in a musical comedy), and Galavant's squire is Magnitude from Community. Which, how did I not know Magnitude was British?! Or played Lee Jordan in the Harry Potter movies?!

It also surprised me. spoiler cut )
