TV commentary:

Community- Hey, its Jo from Scrubs (wait, what the hell was her actual name?)! It took me a second to figure it out though since she had the sunglasses on (and kept them on the entire ep) but then I remember her tweeting about being in an upcoming ep of Community. Wonder if this was just a one-shot, or if we'll see her again, given the whole thing with Abed.

And weird, did they do some weird math, or did they make Jeff younger? That one tape, which Annie said was from '97, had Jeff saying he was 19, so he's only 33 right now? I thought he was supposed to be older than that? Or are they retconning things since Jeff and Annie have an undeniable chemistry, and its less creepy if there's only a 13 year age difference as opposed to a 16-17 year one?

30 Rock- Heh, when they first showed the grand-daughter, I was thinking, she kinda looks like Hit Girl, but that would be weird for them to have her guesting. But it was Chloe Moretz! (Speaking of, I finally saw Let Me In this past weekend. Weird, apparently the American remake didn't actually change anything, I could've sworn I read somewhere it did, unless I switched universes again) She's starting to look more teen than kid now though(which is no surprise since she just turned 14), will she be too old to play Hit Girl in Kick Ass 2?

Vampire Diaries- An ep full of shocks and surprises, as per usual. Though Isobel showing up at the end isn't too surprising, you know she was gonna show up again eventually. (And I do like seeing Mia Kirshner) Although I think it became clear to Jenna that Elena has met her before. I mean, she was already pissed that Alaric was definitely hiding something, I wonder how she'll react to this? Because then that's totally weird! I mean, Elena and someone who is just supposed to be her history teacher, even though he coincidentally was married to her biological mother, both keeping the fact that Elena has met said mother, even though she was supposedly dead? There isn't an excuse in the world they could come up with to say why they would do that.

Owel, Katherine is getting pretty good at being Elena. For all her "better than everyone else" attitude and penchant to mess with people's heads though, she did actually seem pretty scared when Damon had that flamethrower. Though I guess even she realizes she can push Damon too far and cause him to react violently. Though with her constant attempts to frak with Damon (figuratively, and later literally), you'd think she entertain the thought of her playing Elena to fulfill Damon's fantasies. Sure, it might piss him off, but I would think if he's pushed hard enough and feeling awful enough, he might succumb to the temptation of Katherine-as-Elena.

But yeah, her Elena impression is actually used for good this week. When Dr Marten comes after what he thinks is Elena, she vamps out and kills him while his guard is down. Well, he was still in powerful man-witch mode, but since he was expecting a human and not a vampire, that second or two is all Kat needs to kill him.

And why was he after Elena? Well, the gang tries to call a truce with the Martens, and it seems to go well, but then Senior Man-witch pulls the double cross and sends his son astrally to the Salvatore manse to find Elijah and remove the dagger. He manages to wound Kat, but then the brothers turn their flamethrower on him and fry him, which I guess the psychic shock also sets the real him aflame and he dies. So obviously, Senior Manwitch is pissed. He goes after Elena, trashing the bar and stabbing Matt in the neck, but they managed to get away and Elena and Kat pull the switch so when he tries to grab her at home, its Kat he finds.

Some people in the forums were all appalled about how blase the gang were about their deaths. Yeah, its all tragic, because they were just trying to get their daughter/sister back. But the Martens made a deal with the devil to do so, and their plan involved killing Elena. And the gang tried to make a truce, but the Martens broke it. So they're not exactly innocent in all this. Luka's death was more tragic than his father's, particularly since the brothers didn't know they ended up killing him, they were just reacting to the attack. But his dad put a ton of bar patrons in danger, and almost killed Matt!

Owel, the whole Bonnie losing her powers was pointless, as Senior Manwitch did at least give Bonnie her powers back before he died, and secretly gave her the way he and Elijah had planned to kill Klaus. (It prolly involved the place where all those witches were killed, wherein there's enough magical resonance that a witch can channel to become uber powerful. Damon and Stefan actually know where it is, though they keep it a secret from Kat.) Bonnie also asks Elena if she can date the Germ, and Elena gives her her blessing.

Oh, I mentioned Matt getting stabbed? Anyways, Sweet Caroline wins him back with a rendition of "Eternal Flame" in front of the whole bar, so they're back. But then Doc Marten mortally wounds him, so Caroline has to save him with her blood. After he comes back, she says she's gonna be honest with him now and tell him everything, like how she's a vampire. But upon hearing she's a vampire, he freaks, as then Vicki wasn't ranting like a loon last season. And just like with Tyler a couple of weeks ago, since he doesn't have any details, he wonders if Caroline has anything to do with his sister's death. Of course not, but these jerks never let poor Vampire Barbie explain things!

There are differences, but to me fairly insignificant. The 80s soundtrack (I have no idea when the original was set), starting in the middle and flashing back, I don't think the kid in Let Me In spies on his neighbors, and when she goes vampire it does some CGI effects that the original didn't.
