Leverage- Okay, this was prolly the most hilarious and amusing ep of the show yet, even if it was a little corny there at the end. I mean, having fake BP guy show up to motivate them to try for the dagger again, because now they're doing it for the down trodden was a little heavy handed to me.
In any case, it was kinda obvious that blond server chick was gonna be Parker, and I figured doctor guy was Eliot, but I wasn't sure who Hardison was going to be at first. I mean, in Sophie's story, I thought he might end up being the African diplomat guy, but "Hardison" actually got poisoned by the drink, and then "Eliot" was doing an emergency tracheotomy on him, so I thought, "Oh wait, that can't be him if the guy got a tracheotomy!"
And then in Eliot's story, I guess he and Sophie did such a good job of making him seem like he was really in danger there, that I figured Hardison would remember who Eliot was if he rough-housed him that much to "save" him. Well, that, and I figure Eliot would have enough battlefield medical training to know if someone was actually choking to death or not. I mean, "Hardison"'s accent in Eliot's story did remind me of the times Hardison played someone from Africa, but like I said, it seemed like Eliot would know something was up, or he would have left a big enough impression on Hardison to be all, "Oh, its you!" Because I figure you'd remember the face of someone who tried to cut open your throat.
It is hilarious though that Sophie's plan was to fake poison "Hardison", and Hardison's plan was to act poisoned, but if not for that "poisoning", how was Eliot gonna get in the back? And for that matter, did Parker really get one over on the rest of them? She kinda blundered onto the dagger there at the end- at least Hardison, Eliot, and Sophie successively changed things to re-route the dagger into their hands. Parker just ended up cut off from her original plan due to Eliot accidentally blocking the door while taking out a guard, and she managed to sneak into the main room and see where the dagger ended up going. More luck than skill. Though I guess she has to be pretty skilled to sneak into the room like that with all those people in there.
But ha, I loved how in their stories, Dr. Phlox was this hard-nosed security guy who was this close to catching them, and the reality is was he was that he was some schlub that had a crush on Sophie! I knew in the beginning when he was talking to her museum employee self that it was just that Phlox had a crush on her and she totally misread his wording, and her thinking he was onto her was him worrying about something else entirely. I wasn't sure how the Parker thing where he caught her in the vents would end up tying into the goofy reality of him. So I do find it hilarious that it ended up being that he had found her gear, not knowing it was her gear, and thought he would use rope to crawl through the vents to try and get out of the room. I mean, who would do that to try and get out of a locked room, that's dangerous! Not to mention I don't think he's lithe or nimble enough to easily crawl through those vents. And you'd think the guard would correct him and tell him that fancy nylon rope like that isn't something likely to be stocked in a supply closet and prolly belongs to the thieves!
In any case, I like how it all tied in. I figured when they mentioned the string of robberies in the beginning, that those were staged and that's how Nate was gonna be brought in. But I didn't foresee that the whole thing with the guy after Eliot would end up tying in there at the end as well.
Oh, I also loved Sophie's changing accent. Or at least the one in Eliot's version of things. Mainly because "Cor Blimey!" and "What's all this then!?" are my favorite supposed common British sayings. Although given the way Sophie and Eliot were apparently all over each other, how did they not end up recognizing each other later? I mean, sure, it would be hard to remember someone you spoke with once 5 years ago. But they're all thieves (well, Parker's the thief, but you know what I mean) There supposed to be aware and astute and all that jazz, I think if anyone would remember, it would be them.
