Drove up to Miwaulkee (okay, Miwaulkee Tools on Jimmy Carter Blvd) for a brush kit for the cordless drill here at work. I did inquire how much their snazzy new 18v cordless drills run, because if we can find the money in the budget, I'd rather upgrade to the new ones, since they don't even make the one we have anymore (in fact, its three models obsolete, i.e. the next model it was replaced with was also obsolete, and the one it was replace with, and so forth). But alas, even if they'd approve it, they don't have a multi-battery docking station for the batteries for that model. And we can't use our old one because its for the old style Ni-Cad, and all their tools use Li-Ion now.

TV commentary:

The Office- The whole Michael hesitant to hang out with Erin at lunch for secretary's day because he thinks she's kinda a rube and doesn't get along with her rang false to me. Because previous to this, they seemed to get along just fine. I mean, like him, she's a big dork and a clod- back when Pam was secretary, she humored Michael, but Erin goes along with Michael's shenanigans because she doesn't know any better. I guess one could argue that he doesn't see himself as dorky and dumb as her, and thus she rubs him the wrong way, but that certainly wasn't the case with Holly. That being said, I had no idea Erin didn't know Andy and Angela had been once engaged. I mean, I guess she wasn't there at the time, but it seemed like she would've learned about it at one point.

And what the hell is that one lackey of Kathy Bates? I did find the whole "people still think I'm the IT guy" hilarious, because I did think that's what he was.

30 Rock- Regarding whether Jack should choose Julianne Moore or Elizabeth Banks, that is a tough one. Well, for me. I mean, they're both hot, but Banks is younger, though I've always had a thing for Julianne Moore. Like, I still think she's attractive even though she's about to turn 50. (See, there are chicks I find hot who aren't fresh out of HS or no older than mid-20s!)

Fringe- Pretty good ep. So, the other side sends shapeshifters in creepy embryonic form so they can make a stable enough gate to send something through without the nasty side effects we've seen previously. The first forms they take are those of a teen couple getting high near where they showed up. The actress playing the girl looked familiar, I swear I've seen her before, and even her name, "Katie Findlay" sounded familiar, but she's not in imdb, so apparently not.

Meanwhile, Peter thinks he's close to figuring out what Walter is acting strange, and he thinks its because Walter thinks Peter actually believed the story about his mom dying in a car accident when Peter is sure it was a suicide. The Bishops get closer, and for the first time, we here Peter call Walter dad instead of Walter. Which makes the ending that much sadder.

Anyways, the gang eventually cottons to what Newton is planning. They come up with a plan to disrupt the gate, and in the process of doing so, the one FBI agent protecting Peter while he does his thing gets vaporized. Peter ends up getting only slightly hurt and sent to the hospital. But he's smart enough to figure out he didn't also get vaporized because he's from the other universe. Needless to say, he's pretty pissed, and ends up taking off and disappearing, but not before angrily telling Walter that he's not his father. (which he technically isn't)

I wonder if Peter knows Olivia knows and has figured out that's why she's acting strangely. He might've picked up on the fact that it was Liv who figured out where the gate was being opened from the two possible locations they had because she remembered when Walter told her about his own dimension crossing and needing the river to dissipate the energy. It did seem like he was a little weirded out by Olivia's knowledge.

Vampire Diaries- Its the Miss Mystic Falls pageant! Its Elena vs Caroline vs some randoms. Elena had totally forgotten about it, but stays in because she signed up when her mum was still alive, and feels her mom would've wanted her to do this. Caroline was hoping Elena would drop out at first, because she thinks, of course Elena would beat her, because she always comes second best to Elena. But surprisingly, Caroline ends up winning, which is good, because she deserves a win like that.

Also, Bonnie is finally back, though she's very distant to Elena and Stefan, particularly since all the vamps escaped the tomb anyways, so her Grams died for nothing. She blames Stefan and his kind, and she just can't get over it.

Anyways, the A plot is Stefan acting all chipper now that he's on human blood. He lies to everyone that he isn't, but Damon eventually figures it out because the Sheriff found out there was a theft at the blood bank, and he checked with Anna and it wasn't Pearl and her gang (which apparently only consists of Mother and Daughter, plus Harper now, the rest having taken off). Heh, she tasks Damon and Uncle John to look into it. Obviously, they have no intention of finding the truth, as that's counter to their respective agendas.

Apparently, back in 1864, someone stole an invention of Jonathan Gilbert's, and John wants Damon to retrieve it. But he reveals he is not as knowledgeable as he seems when he asks Damon who stole it, as Damon figures out its Pearl, but if John was so in the know, particularly regarding Katherine, he would already know who she is since Katherine and Pearl are best friends. So, Damon declares he's not John's lackey anymore, since he could care less about John's threats, he's fine with just slaughtering everyone if John reveals his true nature to the council and they come after him. Damon was only in it because he thought John could illuminate things concerning Katherine.

But now that he knows Pearl's name, when he spots Jeremy hanging with Anna (who he's mended fences with, now that he knows everything), he figures out that is who he's looking for. Which could be bad for them, particularly since its just the mother and daughter Asian hotties and their loyal servant left. Plus, Damon told Anna who then informed Pearl of the sitch, and they give him the stolen item. I mean, obviously, he's not gonna hand it to John, but then they don't know John is prolly coming after the girls now that he knows who they are. And if he does somehow get the jump on him, he'll prolly think they're lying when they claim they don't have it. And would Damon know they're in danger? Or care if he does find out?

But back to Stefan. He starts freaking out on the blood, which Damon says is because Stefan never tried it rather than learning to control the hunger. So now that he's developed a taste, he's going wild. He ends up abandoning Elena during the pageant when he finds out Damon told her the truth. He winds up grabbing one of the other contestants (the token non-founding family one) and spends the afternoon/night fighting wanting to drain her. Damon takes his place as Elena's escort, and they share a significant dance oozing chemistry.

Eventually, they (along with Bonnie) find Stefan and stop him from killing the girl. Its Bonnie who sends Stefan running with her magic. When the sheriff questions them later about it, Bonnie keeps their secret, but she's still mad at the vampires.

In the end, Elena goes to see Stefan, and Stefan claims he can beat this, and Elena's all, "Sure, and I'll always be here for you!" Then she stabs him with a vervain dart, and she and Damon lock him in the dungeon. She stays with him while Stefan goes cold turkey, and Damon stays with her. Because after all, she is "their" girlfriend.
