I invented the piano key necktie!
Mar. 14th, 2009 12:55 pmWow, its been a pretty busy week at work. The thingie finally came through, so I could start doing that stuff, but since there was a backlog I've been having to play catch up. But hey, come June they're taking me off shift work. So that's cool. Although I do have a lot more on my plate. And I'll prolly have to stick with the early-ass 7 to 3 hours, since there's stuff at work that would require me to be in that early.
TV commentary:
Okay, this week's ep of Dollhouse, when the ranch started burning and the ATF was scouting, I thought the AIC was making a really weird racist comment when he asked if the guy sneaking around was "a black guy". Seriously, I was like wondering for the next few minutes what the hell that was supposed to mean. Was he making an odd racist joke? I mean, they didn't show or mention Langton for like 5 minutes, so I totally forgot he was skulking around. It wasn't until the AIC guy said if they see him to treat him as hostile that I realized, "Oh, he was trying to figure out if it was a black guy because he thought it might be Langton"! HA!!!
And the ranch didn't seem that big, what the frak was Langton doing that Dominic managed to reach Echo first? But yeah, that whole thing with the convenience store security camera, when they showed there was one, I was thinking, why the frak did they not check that to see who gabe the note? But I guess it made sense a minute later when Langton found out it was the AIC. And what's with the AIC denying he saw Echo? I guess he's covering his ass, because if the Feebs question her, they might find out about him faking the note?
And does Helo realize Mellie likes-likes him? Because its totally obvious, so to me it seems kinda jerky of him to have her running errands for him and wot-not. What a user! I mean, seriously, she said she brought him some leftovers, but the pan was frickin' full! That's not really leftovers if nothing was taken in the first place! Unless she made two pans.
And was the B plot Fred and Topher figuring out Victor gets wood whenever he sees Sierra nekkid?! Heh. In any case, the parallels between the MotW and the Dollhouse they've been having each episode keep getting more and more heavy handed, but at least next week it looks like things start actually happening.

So, the first third of the BSG finale, they're going all Lost showing the characters' lives two years before the fall? We see when Lee and Kara first met, and see Zak for the first time? And apparently Gaius was actually taking care (well, I use the term loosely) of his old father. I figured he just cut off all ties with his family. But they do call back to him being embarrassed about them and changing his accent. But we do find out more about his relationship with Caprica, how she took care of his father. No, not in a "oh, he's old and he must've died of natural causes" kinda way. She found him a retirement home that he would like (or so she says!), so I guess that's why he let Caprica in.
We also find out that Rosalin's father and two younger sisters (one of whom was preggers!) died in a car accident, the night of the preggers one's baby shower? So she's not stranger to tragedy. They just better not make it that the drunk driver was someone we know, that would be a little too Lost-y. I mean, I assume the person would be arrested for vehicular homicide or something, so it couldn't be like Tigh or anything, right?
But Adama doesn't want the old girl to go out like a chump, so after finding the coordinates from Anders, he proposes a rescue mission. Though given how every ship wants stuff out of Galactica, you'd think they'd be pissed about that. But I guess its not like they can do anything to stop him. Its a volunteer mission, but Adama stops Cottle from joining because he's too important to the fleet, given its a dangerous mission, wouldn't they possibly need a doctor? I guess nurse Ishay will have to do? The final five all go, even though Tory is reluctant. I'm amused how she's like the Boomer of the final five. Its also funny that Ellen is all, "of course, you'll go, you never liked being alone" and Chief was all, "Like you have anything better to do!"
But the volunteer thing even went out to those who were under arrest because of the munity. Though if they were in the mutiny, would they really risk their lives to save a half-toaster kid? But apparently Racetrack and Skulls (didn't Starbuck shoot him in the chest?!) volunteered. Then again, she's always had that secret crush on Helo. They scouted out the position which is on top of a black hole, surrounded by an asteroid field. It'll be interesting to see how they tackle that particular problem.
Not volunteering, though it seemed he might, was Baltar. Hmm, given how he was asking Lee for a seat on the new Quorum, because he represents a lot of people, isn't leaving him with the fleet kinda dangerous? I mean, they could come back and find out he and his followers have taken over the fleet!

So, on FNL, we finally get to see Matt play receiver, even making the winning play. I still kinda feel sorry for him. He didn't think it was possible for him to go to college, having to take care of his Grandma and all. His mum suggested she take care of Grandma Saracen, but the kooky old bat brats that Saracen would never leave her, like way to emotionally blackmail your grandson! But his mom and grandma bond over Matt playing again (I guess the mom never got to see him play until that point since JD took over), maybe she will acquiesce to the mom taking over so Matt can go to college.
Heh, so Tim got back from NY to see Billy got dumped by Mindy because he told her to stop stripping him. And then Lyla has a tiff with Tim because he's too busy getting drunk while cheering Billy up to see the college recruiters. Amusingly enough, given his good performance at the Nationally Televised game, the college guy is all, "here's your free ride!" So in the end the Riggins boys get back together with their gals.
Weird, even though it seemed like Landry was riding the bench, since he's apparently Mr. Wizard, the newsies interviewed him. Tyra gives him a call, but thankfully they didn't do the thing where he gives up on his interview to rescue Tyra. They just chit chat. And I know Matt and Julie were involved, and Landry and Tyra were once involved, and Julie and Tyra are friends (not that you see it this season) but its still weird to see Julie and Landry hanging out together, without one of the other two. Also weird, people looking for Tyra (I forgot she was student body president, making her taking off to be with Cash even more of a dick move on her part.) and coming to Landry to have him give her the message. If I were him I'd be all, do I look like Tyra's keeper, she dumped my ass!
So, when Cash turns out to be the dick everyone was expecting, Tyra calls Tami. I guess she prolly doesn't want to call Landry just in case he ends up murdering Cash, ha! But, she does interrupt Tami's b-day/post play-off game celebration, so you know Coach is prolly all pissed thinking, "Damn that little tramp!" But he does protect her from an irate Cash. Still, I would be angry if a night of sexin my ample chested wife was interrupted so she could drive a few hours to pick up some fool who shouldn't have left to be with some gambling/drug addicted moron!

So, on this week's Terminator, they find out about Riley's death, and cover it up. Sarah thinks Cameron did it, but John believes her. Derek is too busy bailing Jesse out of jail for getting into bar fights with Naval Aviators, and I can't tell if he can tell how suspicious Jesse is being. What with her being all, "Hmm, John's gf is dead, it prolly was Cameron, and mebbe its a good thing! You have to make him kill her!"
We see flashbacks (forwards?) to Jesse on some secret underwater mission on her sub with the T-888 captain. After avoiding a giant "Kraken" underwater H-K, the T-888 says he has a secret mission from John himself. So they hook up with some oil rig, where they pick up a mysterious package from some endos and a weird looking terminator (was it weird lighting, or was that one of the "rubber skinned" terminators mentioned in the first movie?)
Meanwhile, Ellison chastises John Henry for playing a game of hide and seek with he, Weaver, and her daughter Savannah, because the girl could've been hurt. It was weird to see Weaver all egg-cited by the game (you'd think that would make Ellison suspicious!), I mean, I think that's the happiest we've ever seen her. I forget, John Henry knows she's a robot right? And Ellison lectured him about keeping dangerous secrets. So might he out her?

Forgot to comment on Thursday night TV:
Smallville- How did this show get renewed for yet another season?! I mean, how many times must they re-hash the same plots. Though I guess this time, instead of protecting Lana, he's protecting Lois?! And the whiny bitch somehow learns the wrong lesson each time, even though its always exactly the same. Heh, and I'm amused how he missed out on a vital clue because he was a prick. I mean, Lois was in the middle of telling him that Davis is Doomsday, but he doesn't even let her finish a sentence. Its time travel, there's no real rush, he can choose when he'll appear back in time. He deserves not to know for being an a-hole!
Oh, and that one nurse was played by the chick who played Dr. Manattan's first wife. She was kinda cute. Definitely cuter than Silk Specter. But I think part of it might be the black wig. With her normal blond hair, Malin Akerman isn't too bad.
Supernatural- Cool, since this ep featured Reapers, they brought back Tessa, played by the mad cute Lindsey Mckeon. I dunno, is it me, or did the New Class have hotter chyx than original Saved by the Bell. I mean, Tiffani Amber Thiessen was hot, but New Class had the previous chick, Gift Shop Girl, and Natalia Cig-whatever. Weird, so I guess that funny talking is just how Alistair talks, no matter what body he's in? So I guess Castiel need them there to draw him out because the funeral home was angel proofed, but Alistair had to go out to grab Tessa. Why didn't they jump him when he tried to grab someone? Though I guess they couldn't really catch him in black smoke form. Plus, he might've let his guard down if he thought he was only facing the Winchesters, though he didn't realize how much stronger Sammy's gotten. And damn, they killed that Pamela chick. That kinda sucks, she was pretty cool.

Date: 2009-03-16 07:09 am (UTC)On FNL, that's gotta be the worst run school ever. Riggins has disappeared on a number of occasions and no one seems to care, Tyra's gone for apparently a week and nobody notices. Shouldn't they have been looking for her, questioning her mother and/or Mindy, something?

Date: 2009-03-16 11:49 am (UTC)But yeah, the whole Riggins and Tyra taking off for days is a bit ridiculous. Heh, mebbe the characters on the show are also confused about the retconned grade thing that they forget that somehow Tyra, Riggins, Lyla, and Matt are somehow all in the same grade now, and the first three haven't actually graduated yet.
