Argh, something happened with the cable so the boxes lost signal from 2150 to 2207. But, the TV in my room isn't on a box, so I was able to switch to that TV before I missed more than a minute of FNL or any of BSG. But that means my recording of Dollhouse is mussed up and missing the last 10 minutes. Hopefully its up on hulu or fox's website.
TV commentary:
Monk- Hey, the magician's assistant chick is mad cutie Peyton List, whom one may remember as Lois' younger sister Lucy on Smallville, or appearances on various teen dramas and crime procedurals. I would say I'm surprised she doesn't get more work, but apparently she had a short stint on Mad Men recently. What the eff, Stottlemeyer? What's up with him being so skeptical about the magician being the murderer, because the guy made a call before the show from Reno that several people heard. Didn't someone try to frame him the exact same way in a previous ep? And I think there have been more than a few cases with a variation on this theme. Yeah, he needs proof, but I would think he's seen enough of these cases so as to not be so disbelieving!

Woah, lots of answers in this ep of BSG! But, let's get started with the happenings that weren't as big as the cylon reveals. Looks like the survivor count is up to 39,556, so in addition to the Quorum, and Zarek and Gay-ta of course, they lost about another 30 during the mutiny? Interesting, they're finally addressing the Quorum ridiculousness. I'm not saying it was ridiculous for it to exist, but Zarek always had a point when he said they can't cling to the old institutions, because everything's changed. As Apollo said, they can't really divide themselves by colony anymore, being all spread out amongst the fleet as they are. A ship-based body makes much more sense.
Speaking of ships, with Laird having been killed by Zarek, Adama reinstated the Chief. His first project? Fix Galactica, but only with human peeps. But Tyrol gets an idea from Anders' stay in sick bay, and he discovers the cracks and breaks plaguing Galactica run right into its very core. Tyrol wants to fix it with Cylon technology, but Adama refuses at first, but when he sees the cracks that have formed in his very quarters, he gives Tyrol his approval.
Onto the big reveals, the exposition divided by flashbacks of Ellen's resurrection, and the return of Anders' memory due to being shot in the head. I had a feeling Cavil knew who the Final Five were, that his whole "its heresy to know the Final Five" schtick didn't mean he didn't already know who they were.
So, basically, the 13th tribe were Cylons, they developed their own centurions, who rose up and rebelled and everyone died. But before that happened, the final 5 had been working on the whole resurrection thing. So, they managed to upload onto a ship in orbit before the holocaust on Earth, and went to warn the colonies not to develop their own AI machines, but if they do to treat them right. Unfortunately, they hadn't developed faster than light travel, so they didn't actually reach the colonies until the cylon war. But we find out why the cylon war really ended.
The Colonial Cylons had been trying to invent their own skinjobs, but were unsuccessful, so the final 5 showed them how, AND gave them resurrection tech. Cavil, or John, as Ellen calls him, was their first creation. Unfortunately, he's all, "I'm a machine" and didn't like the human limitations he was given. Which ends up being the final Five's downfall. We find out why the Sharons are eights. Because there are actually 13 cylons total. Cavil, jealous of Ellen's bond with the Sevens, an artist type named Daniel, permanently boxed the whole line. Then he killed the final Fivers and when they were rezzed, he cut off their access to their memories. He introduced Saul first soon after the Cylon war and took great pleasure in effin with them. I guess literally, with Ellen! So wait, is it both an Oedipus and Electra thing? So she's technically his mother, but he was also made in the image of her father!
In the end, Doc Cottle, and a previously unseen brain surgeon(!) played by the PC guy (i.e., that guy who does the Mac commercials with Justin Long) successfully remove the bullet from Sam's brain. Okay, since he's a brain surgeon, that means he has medical training. I know this is a fictional universe and all, but I hope he was actually serving as a normal doctor on the ship he was on, and its not like he's this specialist guy they only call for cases like this. But alas, after they're done, Sam seems brain dead. Oh, and Cavil and the Simons were about to cut open Ellen's head to figure out how to rebuild the hub, but before they can carry on with their macabre operation, Boomer flies off with Ellen and jumps away.

On FNL, aw, poor Mattie. He ends up getting the winning touchdown, but its still JD who gets all the glory. And now that JD has had a chance to truly show what he's got, Coach has no choice but to play him. So he benches Matt, much to his regret. And talk about awkward, Saracen's mom and grams are just getting in right after Coach breaks the news to Matt, so they have to stand there as old Batty gushes about how great Coach is. And then after Coach leaves, and Matt's all depresso, his mom's all "seeya later!" In her defense, she doesn't know much about parenting or that Matt's hurting, but by the end they have a heart to heart.
Oh, and I guess Smash is gone and now we have Street back. So, he hatches a scheme with Herc, and the brothers Riggins to buy and flip Buddy's house. Oh, I thought Jason would be smarter than to go into business with those yahoos! Then again, he did try to run off to Mexico to have experimental stem cell surgery. And I guess he needs the money because he wants to be a better father, and wants to get with his baby's mama. But he runs into problem after problem. First, the elder Riggins' fraks up their first attempt to sell the stolen copper, but after they find another buyer, Buddy finds out they're the ones wanting to buy his house. He doesn't want to do anything involving the Riggins, but Jason manages to convince Buddy to sell it to him. And ha, after all that, Erin says she's moving away with her kid. Oops!

So on SCC, Sarah makes it to a hospital, but is guided by ghost of Kyle Reese to escape. She still has a bullet in her leg though, and its really close to her femoral artery. So she kidnaps a doctor (played by Laura Regan, but with long hair!) who's married to the abusive sheriff looking for Sarah. Well, we know the doc is in abusive relationship, but we don't know its the sheriff until the end. And he seemed like normal law enforcement guy trying to figure out the mess that Sarah had dropped in his lap!
He's not the only one looking into this mess. John Henry has been given access to the internet(!), much to Ellison's chagrin. Anyways, John Henry tells Catherine Weaver of a transmission he intercepted, talking about what Sarah did. They're in cover up mode in the factory. But that's enough for Weaver. She goes in, butchers the occupants (it was cool to see her actually do something interesting for once!), and blows up the place.

So on Degrassi, Jay's still hung up on Manny? (weird, we also get guest spots from Toby, and Jimmy and his cripple girlfriend) I wonder if there's hope for him? And I still find it ridiculous that Alli likes that skeezy looking blond Lakehurst guy. He just doesn't seem to be the type girls like her go for. That was hilarious though, how she got stuck in detention because of her ill-thought plan to talk to the guy by claiming she had detention.
The Claire/Connor/KC thing is just weird. Though him catching Claire and KC dancing together was like a pale imitation of the same scene in the Anti-Prom ep of DC. I mean, Connor is just a freak. But heh, its still weird that he's supposed to be Snake's godson, so when he goes home from seeing that, he interrrupts Emma and Kelly. Have they ever even had a scene together? I figured she'd be all, "Who the hell is this kid?!"

What did Shawn mean by "any marginally cute chick"? The brunette counselor was at least kinda cute, not just marginally. But mebbe I'm just saying that because of the pig-tails. And poor Lassie, he finally finalized his divorce. But weird, his wife is Justine Bateman?
