Dec. 4th, 2007 11:02 amWasn't someone on the flist wanting a "Crucifctorious" T-shirt? I saw on popcandy that its at the NBC Universal store now.
Monday night TV commentary:
Not much to say about the ep. Well, why does the new intersect have like Morgan and Ellie and Awesome amongst the pictures? I figured they were building a new one from scratch, not copying Chuck's head. But that's the only thing I can think of why it would have pictures of Chuck's friends/family, if they did somehow make a copy of his brain.
And what did they mean after the ep when they were all "Chuck returns in 2008, we hope?" Is it possible it may get cancelled altogether because of the writer's strike? Was it a joke because the ep ended with NSA lady ordering Casey to take care of Chuck?
On the Closer, Brenda's done some low things to get these confessions, but last night seemed a little over the line, telling the guy his brother was killed. Even worse because she lied to her parents about it too.
Still, is there no blowback from this? 1) I can't see how the kid brother wouldn't find out his brother was dead, I figured there'd be decent media coverage if a crew that had hit several armored cars, killing two security guards right before Christmas, were gunned down in a shootout during another attempted robbery. 2) How is this not a major fuck-up? They didn't catch the robbers, they were killed in cold blood by a witness that escaped their custody who also got killed! I mean, yeah, the robbers were stopped, but I thought they prefer it they capture them alive to stand trial. At the very least, if the perps were killed, its because the cops had no choice and killed them to defend themselves or innocents, not that the perps got killed by another perp!
Wow, judging from the twop boards, its sounds like people were on the verge of rioting from that ending! Let's start with the boring stuff first. Micah tells Niki that Monica was captured and that they need to help her. Niki reveals she doesn't have any powers, but Micah insists they have to save her now. So they do, Niki holding her own and rescuing Monica even without her super strength. But she gets trapped in a burning building which explodes with her in it. Given this is a comic book show, even though we saw her trapped with no hope of escape, I'm skeptical she's dead until we see her smoldering corpse.
Owel, she was gonna die anyways. Why? In the Sylar and the Ms (though the 3rd M is Maya, not Matt, this time) story, Mo meets up with Sylar, who's acting all friendly with Mo so as to not tip off Maya. Sylar manages to keep it going for a bit, even when Mo calls Sylar a murderer, since Maya knew about that and Mo didn't go into the details. But heh, then Maya reveals that Sylar lost his powers, which made me wonder if Mo was going to immediately shoot him, but I guess he didn't have a gun, as he tried to immediately stab him instead. Maya panics and goes nuts, but Sylar manages to diffuse it by saying if he kills them all, particularly Mo, she'll never be cured.
Sylar asks Mo to fix him, leaving Maya with Molly. Molly tries to find Alejandro for her, but when she can't, Maya realizes Sylar killed him, she's about to go nuts again, when Sylar shoots her. Mo uses the vial he meant for Niki to cure Maya. Oh, I forgot that Mo took Sylar to the former Mendez loft/Mo's new lab to do the fixing, and when Mo entered the code, it activated the security system, sending a video feed to the company.
Meanwhile, Bob is emotionally berating Elle for frakking up yet again, and she's all sad. You know how I'm a sucker for hotties with such issues (Elle, Blair Waldorf, Taylor Townsend). She tries to ask HRG if what he said about her in the previous ep was the truth, looking clearly jealous of Claire and HRG's relationship. HRG doesn't want to help at first, even when Elle threatens to fry him. But then she says please, so Noah relents and tells him when they were testing how much voltage she could pump, she would pass out and the testers would want to back off, but Bob would always be, "My little girl can take it!"
Bob tells her to stop talking to Noah, so she does some investigating on her own, and sees security footage. She's all, "Daddy, I'll make you proud", intending to stop Sylar, and I was worried that she would die trying, but thankfully, she doesn't. She and Sylar have a gun/electricity fight, and he gets away with the vial. Elle is disappointed that she messed up yet again, but Mo thanks her for saving all their lives and she kinda likes the hero thing.
Back in Texas, Claire's getting ready to reveal her secret. West doesn't want her to, because then everyone will know their special little secret. She gets mad and says fine, she won't reveal that he's a flyboy. Bob tells HRG what Claire plans to do, and they'll be forced to "deal with it". So Noah makes a deal to go back to the company as long as she stays quiet.
At Primatech, Hiro and Pete tussle, with Peter managing to knock out Hiro with a shock, and Adam getting back his sword. For some reason, the paper employees are not disturbed by an Asian guy appearing out of nowhere, and a couple of weird white guys who don't work there wandering around their with a katana.
Peter gets them past security, and tries to open the vault by using tk to pry the door loose, which he does eventually. Though I'm thinking with his power set he could've gotten past the problem easier than that.
Anyways, Matt and Nate tell Angela that Victoria is dead, and she tells them Adam is most likely heading for Primatech to get a hold of that vial. She reveals Adam's goal of wiping out most of humanity to start anew, that's why they locked him up in the first place. As Nate points out, how is that different from what she and Linderman were planning? They disagreed on how many people need to die or something? Anyways, Angela thinks to Matt to do whatever it takes to stop Pete and Adam, including killing Peter with a bullet to the head if it comes to that. Then he and Nate fly to Primatech. As West said in a previous ep, he doesn't have super strength, and I assume Nate doesn't either. No offense to Parkman, but he's not exactly light.
They meet up with Hiro, and the three team up to try and take out Adam and Peter. Hiro gets there first, since he can teleport, but Peter goes all Sith on him, force choking the life out of him. Matt shows up and tries to Jedi mind trick Peter into stopping, but of course Pete's too strong for that. Though does this mean he can definitely mimick Parkman's higher level of telepathic ability now? Luckily, Nate talks him down long enough for Hiro to teleport Adam out of there, sans virus.
Pete manages to teek the vial in time, as it was about to fall to the ground after Hiro and Adam disappeared. Then he uses his radiation powers to fry it. Though the symbol appears in the dusty remains of his hands, not sure if that means anything.
Nate tries to do the same thing his daughter wanted to do, but the company has surveillance on the vault, so they know what's up. He holds a press conference to reveal his secret to the world, when he's gunned down. Geez, Matt and Peter suck! Matt couldn't sense an assassin? Even Peter, he's pretty good with his powers, particularly when ambushed. He can react pretty fast. You'd think with the first shot, he could've immediately frozen time or put up a tk shield or something.
Anyways, they never said Nate was outright dead, just that he was shot. So I think he might still be all right. But like I said, it seems the fangirls were on the verge of a riot! Angela sees the whole thing on the news and is sad and talks to some mysterious person on the phone about how "it" is done and that whomever just opened up a Pandora's box. End chapter two.
Chapter three's prologue shows Sylar injecting himself and getting his powers back? Since he didn't have his power when he killed Candace, does that mean he doesn't have it?

Date: 2007-12-04 10:55 pm (UTC)And the dude that walked away from the Nathan shooting kinda looked like Noah. That's my theory anyway. He struck a deal with the company, and I think his desire to protect Claire would coincide with keeping the existence of superpowers a secret. That may be too obvious, though.
