Walked over to the Marble Slab for ice cream because I was in an ice cream mood. With it being Rush Week, there was a gaggle of sorority cuties meandering about. Having never gone greek (heh), I'm not familiar with rush traditions. What's this with the entire house of girls going to each frat where the guys do some sort of performance and the chyx gives them flowers? Weird! And at least the girls get to walk around in flimsy little dresses. spcv('Nice!') I almost feel sorry for the guys though, having to dress in those monkey suits in this weather. Though I guess the girls have to do all that walking from house to house in their heels.

Anyways, I was thinking of having a cup of whatever flavor interested me when I got there. Ended up getting their amaretto flavor in float form. Though I didn't think you made a float with that much ice cream, they practically packed the entire cup with ice cream before adding the root beer. I'm not complaining, it was pretty good.

What is this marble slab thing you talk about??? Me and Theresa saw a place out here with a name somewhat off Coldstone and thought it was hilarious! What is it a chain or something??? Haven't tried that but Coldstone is way too sugary for my taste! Just walking by the store throws me into a diabetic coma!

Marble Slab Creamery (http://www.marbleslab.com/) is indeed a chain. Wait, isn't there one over there next to the Applebee's?

That's Coldstone. The Marble Slab place I saw was near Roosevelt Field.

I'm not sure which place came first, but I guess the similarity in names is because they work off the same principle- having that cold stone marble slab that they use to mix the mixins in to the ice cream.

I wiki'd it... Marble Slab is first. Seems like Cold Stone is more wide spread, or at least more visible here. I mean, when I saw Marble Slab I thought it was a cheap imitation!
