So Shannon and Boone aren't really brother and sister? At least not by blood? And they totally did it! Ha! What a bunch of freaks! Although what a bitch, so she screwed him just to continue keep him under her thumb. How manipulative! And then she died! Only she didn't! The B-plots were interesting as well. Did they do something with everybody? Nice continuity with jin still having the broken handcuff on his wrist. And who else thought of that one Friends' ep when Hurley told Jin to pee on his wound? But lots of stuff happened. More knowledge about the monster (it gives peeps visions!) Sayid getting all chummy with Shannon, Kate learning the Sun speaks English secret. So what's in Link's box? And I guess we'll see why Sawyer was at the police station when they do his 2nd ep (I assume he'll get one if Jack and Kate already got two of their own)

What the hell was with all of them doing crazy accents during the first mission. I mean I was thinking it was weird when Syd and Marshall were doing the Jersey accents and Vaughn was pretending to be Aussie, but when Dixon came out pretending to be Jamaican I about lost it! Ha! And speaking of Lost, apparently the song playing at Syd's party was a Driveshaft song. Interesting ep. So now Weiss knows about their little club. And I'm surprised they had Jack throw Nadia off so early. But what on earth kind of story he could come up with for Bishop killing Irina? Though pretty effective. I was wondering why Nadia went all nutso on him, I mean, I know Syd is her sister, but finding out about the whole Irina lie makes more cents

Finally got to try out a ps2 controller on Tekken 5 at the student center. Works pretty good. Alas, the machine was dominated by one of those guys who's just too good. You know those types, they have that skill that no matter what character he plays, he totally rocks with them. And obviously, he was asian. I think I have some of that asian skill, though no where near the level of other asians. I mean, I can do some pretty good juggles and okezeme but nothing as crazy as they can. Though I think I was almost as good as any of the five or six other guys there trying to knock that guy off. His Steve was brutal so being able to take it to him with a way weaker character like Lee was pretty cool. I mean, shocking him with Lee's new parry enough that I was able to pull off the acid storm on him. Talk about real purty. But like I said before, tough opponents like this are a good learning experience. I mean, I've been doing Bryan's new Anaconda Riot combo a lot now that I've learned it, but lesson for today, while its a devastating combo, prolly not a smart thing to do with against someone with a counter as that last side kick comes out a little too slow. So against someone with Asian skills I end up eating King's leg reversal. But I adapt. So, I throw that a few more times to make myself look like I don't know what I'm doing, but then I start stopping the combo early and don't do the last kick, so he tries the counter and I punish him with another move. Alas, playing the arcades does get pricey though, but hopefully they'll get better at implementing online play by the time it comes out for the ps2, which should be significantly cheaper and I can still get some good competition.

is restricted to driving and shooting games in the arcade. i was a monster in Daytona, Sega Rally and Virtua Cop 2. iwas decent in a whole bunch of other driving and shooting games too. for some reason, i never really got into Time Crisis, maybe because i was in the States by then and arcades are too expensive here.

however, i know friends (note the trailing 's') that have experiences of playing Street Fighter and its variants for the whole day on one token because of a continuous stream of challengers. two of the funniest incidents i've seen in an arcade: the firsst was one of my friends playing another guy blind and winning because of a stupid feature/bug in the early street fighter game (the dragon punch was unstoppable) and the other one involved another friend humiliating his opponent by saying, "you suck so bad, i'll play you with only one hand and still beat you", and keeping true to his word (yes he was being a real jerk, but it was hilarious).

Wait, is this sf1 or sf2? The dragon punch in of itself is unstoppable, but you just got to play smart then. I used to be really cheap in the orginal street fighter 2 with Guile, and the trick doesn't work in later versions (CE, Turbo, Super, etc) because they changed his speed/properties a little but Guile's had a really nasty trapping game that even the drgaon punch couldn't get you out of. Once you backed them in the corner, you hold db and do Guile's hard sweep, which sweeps twice. If they try to throw a fireball, they get swept. If they try and block, they have to block both kicks, giving Guile enough time to have charged a sonic boom, which he immediately lets loose, forcing them to block again. And then you quickly go back to the sweep and pinned to the corner. Now, if after the two sweeps they try to jump out of the corner, the db also charges the jackknife, so you can let loose with that to keep them on the ground. And if they try to dragon punch out of the sweeps, I don't think it hits Guile, it just jumps over the sweeps so Ken/Ryu doesn't get hit. But now he's in the air and vulnerable to the jackknife on his way down. The only weakness I'm seeing here is if after the two sweeps, Guile does the sonic boom, and the Ken/Ryu player tries to do the dragon punch out of the corner. I think its too close and they get hit by the sonic boom. So I think Guile is safe there too. But yeah, I cheesed lots of guys like that.

I was actually pretty good with Blanka as well. And there was this one time where I just couldn't be beat, but the opponents didn't have asian skill. It was pretty funny too, because it was at a movie theater arcade, and eventually I just wanted to lose because my movie was coming up. So I'd start trying to throw the fight, but half way through I'd realize my throwing the fight was looking too obvious, so I'd fight back and end up accidentally killing the guys. I think it was because the old sf2 you used to take double damage if you got hit out of a lot of the special moves. Like I'd turtle and just block all their attacks and let them back me into a corner and wail on me, then I'd think, "Oh, they know I'm throwing the fight" so I'd start fighting back. Unfortunately, since I was constantly moving backwards, my cannonball was charged. And since these guys sucked, I'd end up blocking some, accidentally moving the stick forward, and since it was charged, end up coming out with the cannonball, and hitting them hard.
