Jun. 30th, 2017 07:43 amTekken blather- So after reaching Tekken God Prime with Lili, moved on to unlock customizations for other character. First, played Alisa. I had already unlocked most of her combat outfit, just needed the helmet, which I got, as well as both pieces of the peach swimsuit. She's an okay character, the one thing I disliked is she's one of those stance characters.
As I've said before, I dislike special stance characters because a lot of the time you accidentally go into them and not realize it and wonder why the character is not playing like you're expecting to. Because you've switched stances and now the buttons and motions do a different thing! She's a little more tolerable because its mainly just normal mode and destructive form. And destructive form is easy enough to get to, but because I suck, its not like I get to stay in it for long before getting hit out of it.
So what's the use of destructive form if I can't even utilize it? I mean, I don't mind it so much when its kinda like a tricky, defensive thing to draw opponents in, like Lee's hitman stance. But if the moves in this other form are better than their normal moves, then it seems like something I'd always want to get into. But if I can't even get to do them before getting hit out of the stance, why bother? Stick with what works.
After got all her stuff and got to 100 wins to get both her titles, moved on to Leo. Which for some reason the announcer pronounces "Lay-o". Also, Leo's gender is confusing as hell. In the previous games, it seemed like "he" was really a she in disguise. I mean Leo in this game is slight, could be a girl in disguise. But he definitely sounds like a he, and not in a way they could be disguising their voice to sound like a he. Then again, its hard to tell since Leo speaks exclusively in German:
And the instructions refer to him as a he. Interestingly enough though, unlike the other male characters, he has no "shirtless" option. Actually, I dunno if Bob has a shirtless option, since he's a fatty. i didn't notice, but apparently he doesn't have access to leather tops either. I mean, the leather vest is just a vest, no shirt underneath. And I guess the "barbarian" top is just a couple of straps of leather, which would cover nothing if Leo is actually a she with breasts. Its all very confusing. Like if Leo is still a girl disguised as a guy (or pre-op transgender, which is fine too), why don't they reference it anywhere?
Another interesting thing about Leo's customizations is one of them is a "slim-fit military coat", which is basically a leather long coat in the style of WWII Germany military uniforms. However, if you try to equip him with that and the "officer hat" that everyone has as an option, it will unequip the coat. I guess because it looks Nazi-ish?
Its weird, because Dragunov's main outfit is a military officer uniform with long coat, and he's perfectly fine using the officer hat. Is it because Dragunov is Russian and Leo is German, and as such having the German dressed up looking like a Nazi is a no-no?
Still haven't unlocked the combat top, which is basically a shirt with bulletproof vest, but slimmer than the actual bulletproof vest customization. Like I tried pairing the normal bulletproof vest with the combat pants, but it looks a little bulky at the top. Also, when trying to equip the tight mask, the scarf part has some clipping with the back of the vest. And again with the BS customization options, its annoying you can't equip the mask with the other hairstyles.
Anyways, I like his/her. Their? I'll use their. Though they are small, they use a cool, hard hitting style similar to Akira in Virtua Fighter. Which seems to fit with my turtling style of defending and firing back with precise, hard hitting strikes. Hopefully that combat top will unlock before I hit 100. But I'm sticking with them until I get it.
